>Dospunk

Computers never had graphic interfaces thus computer science became a knowledge kept by few elites

>Slavepunk

Humans never found good enough energy sources and thus every piece of technology is powered by slaves.

>Cassettepunk

optical data technology was never developed and so cassette tape became the default medium for any kind of information processing
>>
>Punkpunk
Literature never goes beyond '-punk'.
>>
>Miasmapunk

Science still operates on the principle that viruses are caused by miasma, which consists of "bad air." There are no microscopes n' shit. Everyone dies all the time.

>1349punk

The Black Death continued virulently sweeping aside the population every 20 years, as in real life, but unlike in real life the virus became deadlier over time. Everyone wears plague doctor masks and the planet is pretty empty.

>Brickpunk

Cell phones never evolved into smaller devices. All cell phones are very large.
>>
>>50974514

So every piece of fiction is basically an uchronia

>sewerpunk

>>
>Prohibitionpunk

Prohibition never ended and in fact, spread to the majority of the world. Scandinavia and Australia refuse to allow it to happen

> Religionpunk

Religions become extremely powerful when their objects of worship come to life/return. Glycon still fake god.

> Technomagicpunk

The rise in computing power allows those who know how to summon things. Japan is overrun by Ars Goetia demons because of Atlus Otaku. America becomes blasted wasteland after all the god-botherers dare to summon -el level angels. Australia remains unchanged due to no one faction being dominant.

> MadMaxPunk

A minor incident convinces Australia that the world has ended and falls back to the plan of turning the Outback into the Great Southern Wasteland. Rest of the world unaffected and wondering what the Aussies are on.

> Chakrapunk

Naruto variant. The Sealing Arts become more widely known, pushing the tech level further and allowing chakra-users to have things like power armor. Prisons for chakra-users double as powerplants.

>Fruitpunk

The One Piece setting

>Monsterpunk

You know how there are some tribes that believe that if you wear enough of an animal, you gain some of their power? Well, here, that's true. There are also monsters with strange abilities and humanity is confined to guarded villages with travel between the villages being difficult due to random monster attacks. Players play as Slayers who are odd-jobsmen who kill monsters and wear their pelts as clothing.

>Discpunk

The Turtle Moves...
>>
>Humorpunk
Medical science still hinges around Galenic theory and each of the four humours has a type of magic associated with it

>Scribepunk
The printing press was never developed and all literature was still put together by hand, dramatically affecting the flow of ideas throughout history and leaving the monastic classes and the literate elites the rulers of a brutal and barbaric world

>Radpunk
Pre-apocalypse Fallout but punkier I guess
>>
>Dieselpunk
Musclebound dudebro who can't act but has secret /tg/ depths and is fundamentally /ourguy/ fights against the corrupt critics, Hollwood elites and corporate authorities to liberate our minds with his next movie about his D&D character

>Y2Kpunk

The world really did end in 2000. The survivors live in small communities locked in 1990s cultural stasis. Flannel shirts and bowl cuts are the norm. Raider gangs with "xtreme" aesthetics plague the countryside. They will typically call you "butthead" or "dweeb" before smashing your brains in and robbing all your Squeeze-Its and Dunkaroos.

Dieselpunk already exists and that's not it.
>>
>daftpunk
Everyone is born with severe learning difficulties but at least the music is cool.
>>
Gigerpunk.

Biotechnology and the neurosciences progress alongside society's growing creature conforts. Utiliarianism is flipped on it's head: more than using machines to bring pleasure to humans, the capacity for pleasure is granted to as many tools as can be. Non-engineered humans are phased out. Machines remain to sustain and entertain other machines. The planet becomes one sentient city, masturbating itself.

>Horsepunk
Everything is powered by rippling muscular stallions. All the houses look like barns and everything, including and especially clothing, is made out of ropes and leather.

>Deviantpunk
Everything and everyone looks like it was designed by somebody with a highly specific and autistic fetish. Beware of hands growing and loving permanent delitization. Some people genetically engineer themselves to become the human version of sparkledogs and sonic OCs

>Churchpunk
The church has taken over absolutely every aspect of life, every road and home is as highly detailed and ornately designed as an old wealthy European church.

>Deathpunk
Everything is skeletons, fuck yeah.

>Clownpunk
Exactly what it sounds like.

>Dogpunk
Dogpunk is even worse than clownpunk. If you think dogpunk sounds fun, then you are incredibly wrong. It's better to die than to live in a dogpunk setting, but dogpunk will not let you die. Woof woof bitch

>Frogpunk

>metalpunk

80s heavy metal became incredibly popular, dominating entire lives of people. The biggest bands of the genre are hailed as kings and gods. Everyone works hard to afford concert tickets, records, leather jackets and band merchandise.

The biggest dream in this world is to form your own band and make it big, standing next to giants such as Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. However, this is very difficult for a newly formed band; these bands have to tor non-stop and partake in illicit activities to afford instruments, studio equipment and bribes to play at the right places. Not to mention dealing with rival bands that will try to sabotage you in many ways.

Player characters are members of one such band. Do they have what it takes to make it big in the world of metalpunk?
>>
>>50974737
Sounds like that MTV cartoon that the Ed, Edd and Eddy guy made.
Grunt Brothers or something.
>>
>Gothpunk

The late 70s-through-90s goth became the norm. Everyone dresses mostly in black, stores sell torn clothes and occultism is taught in schools.
The architecture goes from classical Gothic to twisted almost impossible buildings similar to those in Burton movies. Bands and artists are the closest thing to a religious movement and people are constantly fighting over them.
The only real social events are weekly night club gatherings, otherwise most people are purposefully antisocial.
Technology is completely dedicated to hedonistic purposes, since there are no real conflicts, only small disputes.
It's just an excuse to have cute goth babes everywhere.

Society became obsessed with the craft of carpentry, and refused/neglected any technology not related to either carpentry or the felling of trees for raw materials. Lumberjacks are among the most respected professions, but the forests are running short and competition for timber is fierce.

>Bananapunk
All technology is fueled by the potassium isotopes present in bananas. First world powers Colonialism the shit out of any region capable of growing bananas. Pests or fungus that affect banana crops lead to fuel shortages, blackouts, and riots. Creating new banana strains is crucial to society's continued existence.

It's cyberpunk. Some parts of the world are just lacking a little punk, some lacking a little cyber. It's there though. Notice how the worlds major powers are swinging towards nationalism, amd look to the past. Punk always comes on the heels of nationalism.
>>
>>50988869
I'd say we're living in a cyberpunk world.

Even before the fucking explosion of mobile internet-connected devices, friends in the charity business told me about homeless people in African countries that would own laptops with pre-paid internet shite so they could grab quick jobs through temp agencies.

For those people having internet was more important than having a home, because at least the internet gets you money to live.

Like blaxploitation, except drug use is actually dangerous and STDs are real. Combat is largely seen as undignified unless it involves exotic martial arts moves and weaponry. Most characters eschew combat altogether in favour of rapid back-and-forth insult contests or dance-offs.

>>50977018
Alternatively, you could just have the world of Infinite Jest but darker and crazier.

>Bureaupunk
The march of globalization results in many nations of the world coalescing into mega-countries or or members of super leagues (like NATO and the EU except much more strict and powerful), resulting in an enormous proliferation of government agencies and bureaucratic institutions. Simple everyday actions become laden with inconvenience, but a few have embraced the onslaught, learning to navigate this paperwork jungle and thrive within it, and perhaps even manipulate the system to work for them. They are the Scriveners. These are there stories.

>Chanpunk

Centuries after a war that wiped put most of humanity the only record of civilisation is the 4chan archives because we were all hackers on steroids.

Society splits into tribes based around the boards and mount "invasions" against each other which basically amounts to standing in another tribes camp and calling the people there faggots before being thrown out.

People talk a lot but don't really get much done and occasionally someone with actual knowledge of a subject will turn up and some members of a tribe will genuinly try to help him do stuff or seek knowledge, most will call him a shill, LARPer or autist and some will try to distract everyone by talking about other stuff very loudly and cosistantly until everyone gets annoyed and leaves.

Society as a whole is awful but no one has any ego which makes things kind of bearable and for the most part people won't kill you for no reason or fuck with your shit.

Board Rules are the general religion, stickies being the additions for that tribes religion. Punishment for breaking Board Rules is going to "Le Reddit". Telling a person to go there is a grave insult. If you adhere to the Board Rules you join Moot in Mootxico.

Basically, it's your standard 'a secret supernatural world exists alongside our own' but through the lens of 1920s-30s veiws of the paranormal. Key features are random things disappearing or falling from the sky, psychic powers and levitation, poltergeists, lost lands and creatures and spontaneous combustion.

Also, the world might be shaped like a giant spinning top.
