So what are you guys hoping to see in Arms of the Chosen? What kind of Artefacts would you like to see, what do you think Warstriders will be like, and what do you think the new(er) Evocations system will be like?

It'll be interesting to see how power armor interacts with the Evocations system as it'll allow a more magic heavy presentation of magitech.

So on the topic of artifact's, I'm actually working on one now. It's a five dot Direlance made entirely from orichalcum. I'm considering making it Artifact N/A rather than 5 dot due to its backstory, but I don't intend for it to be a magic macguffin so much as just a really good weapon.

It was forged by a Twilight during the primordial war, who sought to make a weapon that would be the antithesis to wickedness. He actually underwent four trials from the Unconquered Sun, so that Sol would give him permission to forge the weapon in the fires of the actual sun. The result was an incredibly potent spear with considerable power against Creatures of Darkness.

The spear deals Aggravated damage to CoDs, and has a variety of evocations that specifically target them. It also has its own Intimacies representing it's virtues (although it isn't technically sentient), and will never allow itself to be attuned to by CoDs or anyone with Intimacies that contradict its own. It also has one evocation that can make a non-CoD count as one for a scene, provided the target doesn't possess any similar Intimacies.

The capstone though is an evocation were the wielder stabs themselves through the heart, making them glow like a second sun and getting a massive power boost as a result (the details of which I'm still working out, but one I had in mind was dealing a level of Aggravated damage at the start of each round to all CoDs within Medium range). The capstone kills the wielder after being used though, meaning the user has to be fighting for something he -really- cares about before he'll use it.

Problem is, I can't think of a name for the spear, or the Twilight that created it. Bit minor, but that's still something I'd like to figure out before I start hammering out solid mechanics. Anyone here have ideas they're willing to share?

Is aggravated damage really that big a deal? (because it doesn't seem like it to me)

Like I said, I don't have the mechanics hard-pressed yet, but I have a few vague ideas like the ones I mentioned. Those aren't all the ones I had though, I have a few more. For example;

-Bolt of unblockable solar energy that can hit an opponent at range, causes excrutiating pain to CoDs
-Attunement bonus which makes all damage against CoDs count as Aggravated damage, and also gives any CoDs that can see the weapon an automatic Minor Tie of fear towards the wielder.
>Attack and damage boosters against CoDs
>Ability to mark individuals as CoDs for the purposes of any CoD related effects (like the anti-CoD solar Melee charms)
>Various buffs and de-buffs that essentially let the user inspire his allies to fight better while making CoDs become terrified and frail
>Capstone evocation which does an automatic level of Aggravated damage to all CoDs within Medium range at the start of every round. Specific buffs beyond that I'm still working out, but the resulting buff is strong to essentially ensure victory but at the cost of the user's life. Something like embodying the perfection of the sun, giving the user 5 in all attributes and abilities for the scene and a free full excellency on all attack rolls for the scene. However, their mortal body can't stand the sun's unbridled glory for too long, so they burn out and die at the end of the scene, after most likely murdering the shit out of their enemies.

Like I said, very rough ideas but enough to give a general idea of what I'm going for.

It doesn't sound like a N/A artefact, those are game defining objects that define the game you're running, like the Shrike or the Eye of Autochthon. Even making it a 5 dot artefact seems high, but no one can say for sure unless you post the entire Evocation set.
