He was testing out a list for a comp soon, but we both bring fairly similar power level lists as we both started 30k at the same time, that and we are cool dudes and actually let each other know if we want to bring a cheesy list to try out.

I ended up winning because I played to the mission and won handily on victory points. My leviathan did die the turn it came on to a Krios shot to the face! same as the deathshroud unit, they got shot to shit and the survivors were them promptly nuked from orbit by my own scattered bombardment from a master of signals......... friendly fire indeed. I baited Scoria into the middle of no mans land and left him there while my Praevion + Castelax wrecked his Krios squadron and my contemptor cortus talon wrecked shit because overcharging cheap outflanking dreads are awesome. Tac marines moved up the table in rhinos to score points and occasionally shoot thralls. Playing the victory conditions is love, it is life.

I plan to play SW iron wolves, the rules from the curse of wulfen are realy bad and not very customable. Well the crusade liste it's a good way to manage a themed army.
I would take the RoW armoured breaktrough for the fast rule and the boosted sicarian, and a siege breaker centurion with phosphex bombs to allow my medusa to fire with it.

Nuncio Vox, for the shooting and marines to take objective.
The siege breaker boost the volkite and allows a another rhino with a nuncio vox.
Machine spirit on fast vindicators sounds good.

First delayed because of a change of plans n the content pipeline. The book was first slated as #3, but the team wanted to mix things up.

Then 6th/7th edition came and scrambled the whole psychic power system into its own phase. That forced them to entirely reevaluate things.

Then the model production fell behind, as the Custodes, SoS, and Space Wolves started needing more and more stuff.

In February 2016 they already knew pretty well what ruleset they wanted for the TS and were wrapping them up. On the other hand, it's the Custodes rules that they were still struggling with.

Then this year there was the car accident and model production took yet another hit.

It's the custodian banner with DG brass ontop that I glued on 2mm plasticard sheet.
The champion is wielding a power mourning star of sorts with a censer-like head. I'm thinking of expanding that theme to the whole command squad and giving them shields. Rule of cool and all that.

I assume the models are non-specific, so you can paint them as whoever you fight most, but that problem still exists.

I was trying to fix that with the base of my Imperial Knight, which would have a dead marine on it, bit since it's House Malinax and the base is either Istvaan or Xana, I went with Sons of Horus. Still looks a bit off sometimes, but seeing as the Sons were at Istvaan and the attack force was disguised as them at Xana, it fits.

Spartans are generally good for two things: a tactical blob (generally confined to the World Eaters), or a "deathstar" of Terminators (almost every legion does this).

Spartans are basically the answer to the question "what if I could fit ten terminators inside a land raider?".
As a bonus, you can also fit two terminator characters in too, and a bonus IC in power armour, if you want to go all-out.

You can only put infantry in it though, it's not got any special rules that a land raider doesn't have in that regard.

Its interesting because Dorn is supposed to display all the aspects of his warriors who would eventually splinter and diverge into the chapters that we know of today. Dorn went full space crusade mode after the Emperor got locked down in the throne and wanted the entire Imperium to feel the same way.

However, I also feel that this loss (no matter how silly it ends up looking) was important for Dorn as he would have ultimately had enough cojones to attempt a full scale invasion into the Eye itself. Dorn was a proud man and needed to be humbled and reminded that he fought for the future of man.

Well that name isn't going to help anything.

So, I got 2 sets of BaC characters, 10 BaC cataphractii, 2 BaC contemptors (I used the rest for my perfect third), and am planing to buy BoP, which would yield 30 mk3, and 5 tartaros.

I want to start a second Legion, but can't decide.

I'm leaning towards a pride of the legion of The XIII (having 3 vet squads, 1 tartaros squad, 1 heavy terminators squad, and two contemptors), but I could consider other legions, tho I dislike most legions. Which legion should I start?

Should I let Dubs decide? Maybe let Trips decide?

The thing to remember with Cataphractii shoulder pads is that those ones aren't the ones that the actual shoulders of the astartes are contained in, and don't need "room" to move. I do find it hard to understand how the helmets work though. Nice Alpha Legionnaires too. 20 S5 attacks is nothing to sneeze at.

If that wasn't possible, probably an assault marine (bolt pistol, chainsword, jetless) in a rhino. Crusader/ghazi valour fighting my unbelieving cousins in glorious melee. Though I don't think I'd be suited to command roles, due to the 'tism so I'd become a Diabolist and express my faith there.

There was an Ultras player who got really salty after my (Filthily proxied with 40k) Myrmidon Destructors killed Guilliman.

The toasterfuckers with no arms (and my Magos, equipped the same as them) have done it again, and this time in close combat. Powerfists and 2A standard yey. They managed to shoot away the Suzies and put a wound on RG, then charged him, tanked his attacks on lucky 5+ and then beat him to death in CC. I slightly wished I had augmetic eyes so I could have taken a pic of his face.

Oh, the grav wasn't the funny part, I'm fully aware how strong that is and I run 3 Myrmidons maximum for the exact purpose of dealing with Primarch deathstars. The funny part was his reaction.

Well rhino sucks. Weak armour, armed with only twin linked boler(storm bolter in 40k) IG Chimera is better. Only cool thing about rhino is that some guy can shoot from hath with his weapon (lascannon, h bolter etc.) rest sucks. As far I know Custodes didn't used heavy weapons so this make them no difference. Better new transporting vehicle than flying rhino garbage. But this one FW just show us looks weak, they could make something that look better.

Leviathans are not going to kill a 20+ man squad in close combat, ultimately they're a dreadnought and while its possible they can sweep the whole squad its also very likely to get bogged down for a turn or two. Get a claw+siege drill, looks cool and you're geared for fucking up tanks AND monstrous creatures.

Get something else for anti-infantry because the leviathan isnt doing that job.

In close combat alone. Phosphex launcher, maybe a gun arm, and the secondary weapons will help. Then hammer of wrath, I5 swings will do. Watch out for chainfists though
