It's a whole line, detailing the continent south of Faerun and Kara-Tur. It's all sorts of Arabian Nights stereotypes jammed together. One of the ways it differs from the regular campaign worlds is that it's extremely cosmopolitan, to the point where the citizenry mock the northerners for having racial conflicts, which makes it easy to explain how all these weird half-breeds were made.

Al-Qadim has the advantage that 'get stabbed' isn't the first, second, and third option.
