My group is playing Fantasy Hero (the fantasy adaptation of Hero System 5th edition) and I'm trying to come up with a new character and I think I want to try a necromancer. How would you get around the issues of playing a necromancer? Like being detected as evil, trying to play an evil character in a good party etc?

Depends on the setting.

try playing something less obscure

I have a similar question, not so much on the roleplaying aspect or anything as I already have that worked out with the GM, but mechanically. I'm in a Pathfinder group and I don't think we're using much 3PP stuff at all. Currently I'm between a twilight arcanist and a cleric with the undeath domain or something. I've also been thinking about adjusting my role a little bit and doing a plague witch, maybe a gravewalker.
Thoughts?

well in the setting, necromancy is inherently evil and bad so there's no convincing people what I'm doing isn't bad

Like a Thamaturge.

But it's fun ;_;

Any way to conceal your alignment or otherwise protect yourself against alignment detection?
the way like D&D has Angelskin Garments

Yeah, that's what I was thinking step 1 would be for sure. That and some kinda way to make my undead less undead-y

Necromancy is just a byproduct of being a healer by other means you know? Of course they need to deal with poison, disease and cadavers. How else are they going to learn how to help prevent those things in other people?!

Baggy clothes and bandage wraps. Probably perfume, too.

How does necromancy work in the setting
