Merry Christmas, folks. This is Mr. Blue Sky, lead developer for VeloCITY: The Wind in Your Hair, the Jet Set Radio-inspired homebrew about flying through the air with the greatest of ease, turning anything you see into a flying trapeze.

https://1d4chan.org/wiki/VeloCITY

Hope you guys are enjoying your holiday break. I don't have a new update this month, and you can credit that to last month's update. I'm reposting it here for those who may have missed the big update to the game, as it's a monster of a change. Version 1.3 has the most substantial changes to the rules yet, so I want to make sure everyone is on the same page. To recap, here's the short version of the big core change, which has rammifications across the entire document:
>Strength, Agility, Balance and Grit are now known as movement stats and are directly tied and synchronized to their respective core stat (Body, Speed, Mind, and Soul respectively). Upgrading the core stat automatically upgrades the movement stat.
>With the new substat vacancies, there are four new substats to take their place.
>>BODY - Resilience: The damage resistance stat, separate from Stamina
>>BODY - Brawl: The dedicated melee to-hit stat, separate from Coordination
>>SPEED - Stealth: Self-explanatory
>>SPEED - Larceny: Less-than-legal skills, like breaking-and-entering, pickpocketing, sleight-of-hand, etc.

On top of the change above, other changes have been made to both reflect the new statline and to make the rules cleaner and more specific overall.

There was another thread around here talking about a tabletop adaptation of Warframe (>>50851091), and a mod of VeloCITY was one of the most talked-about options, since it's been done in the past. For those who are curious about the system, here is your opportunity to learn all you want about it. Any characters, stories, logs, suggestions, questions, or mods to the game are all welcome. Enjoy the game, and happy holidays!

And I post this after realizing there were a couple errant mentions of Stamina where Resilience should be. I'll make sure that's properly in order for the next update.

For the record, in mentioning that Warframe thread in the OP, this is how one anon described how they modded VeloCITY to handle Warframe, a video game about biomechanical space super ninjas who are warrior-monks and one-man armies of destruction across the solar system. Note that this game was run a couple years ago, so it doesn't fully reflect the current rules, although you can still apply everything here.

>Assuming you mean how we used the system. Blue Sky was also skeptical when I said the system worked pretty much as-is.

>The stats pretty much cover everything a Tenno would need, except for computers and hacking. We ended up rolling it into Acumen, because as it's presented by the game it's a rapid-paced puzzle, and we weren't sure much how to use it otherwise. Still not sure about the validity of that from a balance/design point of view.

>For Movement and stuff like that, rather than giving Tenno ridiculous numbers and risk breaking the system, we gave everyone else really low numbers, and just accepted in our mental pictures that the scale was simply different.

>Finally, where guns are concerned, on page 61 it says:
>>(except for guns and the like – those attacks not influenced directly by stats will have a flat result value attached to them instead of a stat to roll)
>Sooo we just statted out the guns everyone built against a baseline damage (which we typically gave to the enemies). And then as it says in Equipment you just give them Perks and Penalties, like a machine gun having really low damage but every consecutive round it ramps up significantly.
>>
>>50901132
Yo, quoted anon here with a little bit of an aside I wish I mentioned earlier.

I checked the new rulebook, and it's page 39 now, not 61. My book, obviously, was old.

Anyway, Blue Sky, is there a page I'm not finding here where you statted out said static-damage weapons like guns? I understand they should probably be fuck-you powerful in the base setting, and as a GM I can always just make it up, but it's useful to have a developer-decided base to work off.

There's actually no mention of guns or similar weapons being specifically statted out. There's only the one sample listed in the combat writeup that's similar to the line you posted. I know there should be at least cursory mention of similar weapons, like a pistol or a taser or even some mace. It's just that guns come up so rarely that the option didn't seem to warrant excess elaboration. As long as the rule is in place that guns and the like use a flat result value instead of a dice roll for the base damage dealt, that would be fine. For example, I imagine for a couple nonlethal weapons, you could stat it like --
>Taser: Deals 15 electric damage and forces a Stamina 25 test; if the target fails, they are momentarily paralyzed and forced prone. The damage ignores armor resistance.
>Mace: Deals 5 damage and renders the target blind. Requires a Coordination vs. Reaction test to hit. Target makes a Willpower 15 test to avoid being incapacitated momentarily.

The current line that addresses this, for the record, goes as follows:
>The aggressor rolls his damaging stat; for virtually all melee attacks and most ranged attacks (except for guns and the like – those attacks not influenced directly by stats will have a flat result value attached to them instead of a stat to roll, like a gunshot doing 30 damage), that stat is Strength.
>>
>>50902456
That being said, I will most likely go back and provide a bit more to work with when it comes to ranged weapons.

Pistol does 30 damage.
Rifle or shotgun does 40 damage.
Taser and mace are mentioned in >>50902456.
Bow-and-arrow is one of those Strength-goverend ranged weapons, but like all weapons, it provides its own dice bonus to the damage roll, depending on quality and arrow used. It would also have a maximum Strength rating that it would accept (for example, a bow could only allow you to use 4 Strength in the damage roll, on top of the bow's own damage dice; better bows let you use more of your Strength).

Any other ranged weapons worth mentioning?

Maybe stick some extra formulas at the bottom for easy reference.
>Momentum: Stores extra result score from test for later use in the scene, lost at scene end
>Style: Stores excess degrees of success to be used in a later test in that scene, holds a max of (Soul x 2) degrees, lost at scene end
>Energy: Can spend a max of (Body + Stamina) points per test to augment a result score
>If Health or Energy are fully depleted, gain a -1 modifier to all tests

Or you can make small footnotes next to the stat header, like (max Body + Stamina per test) next to Energy or (max Soul x 2) next to Style. I'm not sure how to make those look neat.

Here's an old concept character I did, updated for the new stats.

>Name: Cassandra Delacroix
>Street Name: "Isis," after the Egyptian goddess of magic
>18, 5'7", 150 lbs., O-
>Born American, full-blooded French by heritage

>High Concept: Young Magician, Heir to the Legacy
>Distinguishing Marks: Small golden fleur-de-lis tattoo atop her left shoulder
>Appearance: Variety of normal girlish clothes when a mundane person; when it's "showtime," dons her magician regalia; notably fit and trim
>Personality: Generally chipper and upbeat, a real goof and source of humor. In front of a crowd, she becomes a natural showman, becoming more ostentatious in her mannerisms. Around close friends, she's humble and embarrassed when her "skills" are brought up.
>History: He was a moderately famous stage magician. She was an aloof showgirl and mystic who practiced "real" magic: fortune telling, tarot cards, speaking with spirits, etc. They fell in love, wed, moved to America a few years later, and had Cassandra. It helped that she was absolutely fascinated by her parents' magic skills, and she took to the craft pretty handily while growing up, to the point where schoolmates would ask her to tell their fortune and other parlor tricks. Eventually, the family relocated to Velo City to start again, after a string of disappointing shows. Her mother still holds to the mystic arts and is regularly teaching Cassandra when she's not being aloof and mysterious. The image of a normal girl and of a "weirdo who does cheap tricks" tend to clash.

>Style: Boarder
>Board design: A pin-up of a fiery-haired woman in a desert wearing a slight robe, admiring a small fireball floating conjured in her left hand

BODY/Strength: 3
>Stamina: 1
>Coordination: 2

SPEED/Agility: 3
>Reaction: 2
>Stealth: 1
>Larceny: 3

MIND/Balance: 3
>Academics: 1

SOUL/Grit: 4
>Art: 2
>Awareness: 3
>Charisma: 4
>Willpower: 3

>Health: 60
>Energy: 70

>Perks
[P] Nothing Up My Sleeves: +2 towards sleight-of-hand checks (Larceny)
[P] I Can Read Your Mind: +2 towards Awareness checks when reading a person's body language to discern their true nature
[P] "It's Showtime!": Isis can almost instantly quickchange her clothes into her full magician's regalia, regardless of what she's currently wearing. Costs a standard action as part of a turn. NOTE: her magician's regalia doesn't currently provide any particular benefit; it's just for show.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, I can't believe I hadn't seen this thread until today. I described this idea to my friends, they thought of Air Gear, which I guess is actually an inspiration for this system. First thoughts went to video games like Mirror's Edge, or more supernaturally, like inFamous. Warframe would be interesting as well, my friends have all been playing that for years. I'll take a look at the foundations of the system this evening.
>>
>>50996584
Air Gear and Mirror's Edge are the more immediate inspirations for the game, although the single biggest inspiration is Jet Set Radio, as has been mentioned numerous times. As you've seen earlier in the thread, the system has been modded in the past to accomodate Warframe, and it works very well. Take a read, and let me know what you think.

Her third perk can be one of the following:
>[A, 10 EN] Nine Lives: When falling and after failing the first Coordination check, Cat can immediately make a second Coordination check to grab a handhold, using her Agility score as a bonus

Of course, she can always get a fourth perk later and buy up the one she didn't get.

Well it's just something for consideration I guess. Generally with settings in communities like these it's better if the core author is at least aware and agreeing to some extent.

I don't know though, since right now it's just an idea that popped into my head for the moment. We do have...a fairly large community of CYOA makers here on /tg/.

Hrm I dunno, I kind of use CYOAs just as writing outlets. I kind of feel that a points based system would probably work better, like one of those jumpchain CYOAs, but then that's partly because finding all of the images necessary to organize into backgrounds and such might be impossible without breaching into some grey territory. Would you have something in mind when you think of CYOA?

(I'd talk about something more related as well, but I'm still reading through the book and getting a better grasp of the world)
>>
>>51026880
Don't do anything if you're not going to be satisfied with it. Go ahead and read through the book; I promise there's plenty to work with.

Personally, and this is just an anon's two cents, I think some more writing for it would really help the game and setting expand, even if your work and the core game aren't directly comparable. A prime example would be JSR itself, having two and a half games to its name yet none of them have anything to do with one another, with little connection but their similar storylines and recurring characters. And yet the world is well fleshed-out and interesting to the average dude, and it sparked creativity in guys like Blue Sky and the Frenchies working on Hover to want to make something of their own out of it.

Basically, you have my vote of approval.

Another updated character, this time designed by someone else. He's one of my most favorite characters I've seen created so far. I apologize to the creator if I appear to be taking a couple liberties here.

Name: Isaac “Zack” Daniels
Street Handle: Ogre
High Concept: Rageaholic Street-Tough Seeking Inner Peace
Style: Skater
17, 6'3", 190 lbs., B-, Velo City, born and raised
Distinguishing Marks: Scarred and calloused knuckles
Appearance: Always looking a little frayed and worse for wear, Isaac prefers simple jeans and a variety of Hawaiian-style shirts he tends to keep unbuttoned. His body's covered in the kind of dense muscle that comes from constant use rather than careful sculpting and his skin is peppered with minor scars from a long history of fighting, a habitually tense posture making him look ready to rumble even at the oddest of times. However, while proper fighters might consider their scars a badge of honor, he just considers them a reminder of his failure to keep his cool and keeps them under wraps. Still, as the wipe-outs begin to outnumber the brawls, he wonders if maybe he should reconsider and just accept them.

>[A, 15 EN] Now You're Gonna Get It!
You have a nasty temper, and you've made sure everyone knows it. Heaven help the moron dumb enough to mess with you or yours!
For the rest of the scene, +1 to all skirmish-related tests when on offense. Increase this bonus to +2 against a specific target when said target directly and severely insults you or your allies.

>[A, 10 EN] Heaven Beyond Ogre's Reach
After hearing about how you first became a rudie, a close Bodhisattva friend of yours taught you this mantra-like trick to help you with your spiritual struggles. To throw open the gates to freedom is to slam the door on hate!
If you score 2+ degrees of success on a trick, you gain a +1 to your next Willpower test to keep your temper. This bonus will keep through the next scene or until used unless you flare up on your own; this bonus does not stack up.

>[A, 10 EN] Ogre Contemplating Heaven
Your bud was surprised and impressed when you told them you pulled this nifty little zen trick together. Where once you relied on the joys of freedom to stave off hate, now you've also to learned stave off hate to pursue freedom!
If you score 2+ degrees of success on a test to keep your cool without using “Heaven Beyond Ogre's Reach,” you gain a +1 to any one trick. This bonus will keep through the next scene or until used unless you flare up on your own; this bonus does not stack up.

>Gear
- Reinforced SOAP Rollerblades (+2 Rollerblades)
[Reinforced Boot & Frame: Shit don’t break, yo. That, and you gain +1 on Balance checks when exerting some serious force, like sticking a landing or moving at high speed.]
[Tri-rocker Wheels: This aggressive inline upgrade sacrifices a wheel in exchange for a low-friction grinding block, allowing you to reduce the increase in grind DC by one degree of success.]
- Safety Gear
[Pads and Guards: Add +1 when rolling for damage resistance.]
- Leftover Cash: $80
>>
>>51038750
>Notes
- Considering his claim to fame consists largely of being really good at laying people out, he has yet to make a good impression on the rest of the rudie community.
- May or may not have history with the Big Nasties from his pre-rudie days.
- Knows a few good folks in the Bodhisattvas who respect his struggles.
- 108 reasons to stress out
- One really good reason to smile
- Signature Tag: A horned ogre with a toothy grin and swirly eyes.

it's Rubyn.
He moved to Velo City from the Sandwich Islands when his mother sent him to live with her sibling's family, to distance him from gang violence after a confrontation with the West Side Rye.

I think I found it on some cringe thread or something along those lines
>>
>>51128323

Could also double as one of the conglomerates attempts to market directly to Rudies that ended up getting out of hand.

A sandwich mascot runner that acts out his product's backstory is insane enough to fit the Velo City vibe in my mind's eye.

To elaborate: most of the rest of the fairly sizable island is usually grassland or forest, with some rural outposts to make the city at least partly self-sufficient. Somewhere out in the wild, you can even find the ruins of the first attempt at establishing Velo City, now abandoned and taken over by nature.

What other sorts of weapons can be expected on the streets?
>>
>>51159782
Bats, stun-guns/tasers, mace, skateboards, and sometimes bikes are some of the more common weapons, though it's important to know that rudies are good at improvised weapons: Anything from a can of soda to a broken wheel can be thrown at dangerous speeds.

And if your game is a bit on the edgy side, knives, guns, garrotes, and broken bottles may show up too.

Bats, skateboard and bikes would be like any other melee weapon, providing its own dice bonus to the damage test. The latter two might incur a penalty on the attack test due to being unwieldy as a weapon.

In the game I was in, we decided that sometime between now and 2020, some scientist somewhere discovered a ludicrously simple and cheap method for creating sub-space pockets, basically reinventing personal storage as a whole, then made it open source.

Obviously, this was just an excuse by the DJ for not handling inventory/weight, but it was kinda fun as a concept.

How welcoming is Velo City to industrial application zeppelins?

Being a manufactured island arcology I'd imagine a lot of the heavy lifting was done in the same way Oil Rigs' foundations are set.

Perhaps the long term goal of making a shoal into a metropolis would allow the slower approach of blimps.
>>
>>51215608
I don't quite follow.
>>
>>51215959

In your mind's eye would bigass future blimps be a common thing in the skies above Velo City.

Perhaps acting as shipping vehicles and also improvised tagging/tricking platforms while moored at the local aerodrome?

When you put it that way, yeah, I could see that happening. It's not like zeppelins are an unwelcome sight overhead a metropolis.

Kluger
>Bio
16, 6'2", 180 lbs, O-
Born American, German-Japanese Heritage
>High Concept:
Hacktivist with a mind for machines, medicine, and an odd beside manner.
>Distinguishing Marks
Gets anxious when separated from his Camera Glasses+PC Gauntlet
Always smells of mild Antiseptic with a minor tinge of copper
>Appearance
Messy platinum blond hair and normally wears a black and silver Sky Double High Letterman jacket with red K on the right shoulder.
Personality
>Reserved but tends to be a bit neurotic about people's health, cybersecurity, and people touching his stuff without permission. He truly cares about people under his care, both cyber and medical, but his OCD can be off putting when he constantly analyzes your condition.
>History:
Kristopher's father was a tall German-American pediatric oncology surgeon and his mother is a petite Japanese computer systems analyst. His father used to teach him all the tricks to first aid and would help him learn suture techniques via repairing teddy bears and other dolls for the kids at the hospital. His mother was more reserved but whenever he asked about her work she'd light up with glee and lecture him on programming, cyber security, mitigating costs for equipment, etc. This changed when his father fell ill from inoperable pancreatic cancer. His father actually laughed when he got the diagnosis, he said "Well at least big C coming after me than the kids this time." His father kept working even with his declining condition until he became too ill to work. During this time his mother started to retreat into a personal bubble in depression and started working from home to stay close to his father during his last days. When his father passed away his mother sank deeper into depression and rarely leaves the house.

>History Cont.
While he skated between depression and slowly becoming anti-social like his mother. Kristopher began testing his knowledge he learned from his parents to keep himself busy. While he helped his mother around the house he kept her spirits up by asking about mechanical engineering advice. She'd light up again and every day they would work together on minor projects in their free time. With some support from his mother he created. a portable micro-suite computer from some leftover parts his mother had from a STEM Raspberry Pi and built it into an old toy replica of a Power Glove he found at a thrift store. With research and help from online boards hosted by the Bibliotheque created a motorized skateboard he nicknamed "Lifeline". Afterwards he began skating to improve his skills while offering his skills to other movers in need of minor medical help off the books and equipment repair. He got his nickname as a spiteful pejorative on his German heritage and because most of his designs are patched together from scavenged parts. While his work does look like it wouldn't work at all, he always gets a laugh when he whirs up one of his contraptions up and proves that not only does it work, it does it's job exceptionally well. Special K is another pejorative only his trusted friends call him because of his neurotic behavior and constant wisecracks that he's on the spectrum but he let's it slide with them. A constant quip about his character is when people not in his trusted group call him Special K and he snaps back, "It's Kluger to you!"

Anon is correct in that it's about being able to to break down anything and turn it into a mod. For example, finding a broken car parts when scavenging and doing a check to make a speed mod for a rudie, or even taking broken equipment and re purposing it into a mod The other thing is transforming other equipment into different equipment. Such as taking an aluminum BMX Bike and breaking it down into mods for a boarder or a blader. If anything it was supposed to be something like Dead Rising 3 where he could fuse and re purpose items into something new almost instantaneously. I saw Extended check but the main effect is that this allows him to take broken equipment or other stuff and create mods without having to buy them. The game was supposed to be Breakfast Club meets an 80's vaporware version of Velo City. The main runs would have them moving objects through areas littered with junk or other materials such as steel mills, junkyards, underground railways, etc. This would put him into a check in-combat and if attacked but if he made the test (which in the playtests he did) he could create up to 4 mods which he gave to his allies or his board. I made rule that he could only attach 5 of these custom mods onto one device on a time (otherwise he could get broken). He could remove and switch them but he was the upgrade/tech guy.

Other Three was a smash & grab derby girl (muscle), a trap runner for a face (funny enough it was not really sexual at all and the character played into backstory about the Black Roses & Rozenkranz), and an all rounder biker who's acts as our delivery guy/main courier with an obsession for speed. I'll see if I can find their characters. Also sorry for the spelling/formatting errors on my last post. I was doing it from my phone and autocorrect with auto type messed up a few things.

Drama Actor with a love for dress up

Is constantly sucking on a lollipop or chewing bubblegum
>Appearance
Fair and very feminine, most people are fooled into believing Akemi is female. He normally dresses in default female attire for school and occasionally dresses in androgynous sweater vest with shorts.
>Personality
Sly and cunning, Akemi has a way with words and getting people to drop their guard. The word "trap" doesn't do Akemi justice because he's more like a viper mixed with a social chameleon.
>History
Akemi's adoptive mother was an idol in her youth. She sang, danced, and partied her days away as a rising star. While she was younger she flirted with another female idol and they kept their relationship secret in fear of a scandal. As time went on they started drifting apart in romance as her lover became entrenched in drugs, sex, and destructive behavior. She slowly broke off the relationship but still kept in touch via e-mail and social media when her lover wasn't high, drunk, or all of the above. As she started to get older and people stopped coming to her concerts she knew her time as an idol was coming to a close. She retired from the idol business and went back to school for a Bachelor's in Business Administration. Now she owns a talent agency that manages artists ranging from idols, actors, musicians, painters, DJs, and everything in-between. While on business in Velo City she got a call from the hospital that her ex was undergoing a medical emergency and she was listed as her emergency contact.

As she entered emergency and rushed to the room, she was only greeted to a stretcher with a cloth pulled over the body. She asked what happened and the doctors told her that there were complications when she went into labor and expired during childbirth. There was no father listed and she was listed as next of kin.

>History Cont
The doctors told her that the child was successfully delivered but as she was listed as next of kin, it fell upon her to decide what to do with the child. While she mulled over the thought of leaving the child to the government, the nurse brought the child to her. She saw the child with his eyes closed squinting in discomfort while in the nurses arms. As the nurse let her hold the child as she saw his face relax and begin to nuzzle her chest in comfort. This dispelled any doubts and she resolved to adopt him instead. She named him Akemi for the bright smiling face that won her heart over.

As Akemi grew older his mother cultivated his skills in the arts. He learned ballet, acting, dancing, calligraphy, and everything that could make a good idol. He still loves his mother but he just finds almost everything about being an idol boring. The only exception is his love for dressing up in costumes especially feminine apparel. He takes the stage name Kiki during his cross dressing performances and BBS board. While he kept up his studies, he got involved with the Rosenkranz during one of his performances. He occasionally acts in their shows but isn't considered a full time member.

The main backstory ends here since the player never completed their story. I helped her with the character and the main second arc was that he gets involved with the Black Roses by one of his mother's idols asks him to test her boyfriend because she thinks he cheating on her. He goes undercover in a gyaru trap disguise and proceeds to flirt with the boyfriend while hiring Kluger through BBS to hack the various cameras near their dating spots to gather evidence. While this helps his friend unbeknowst to Akemi another female who the boyfriend was dating on the side thought Akemi was the other woman. She hired the Black Rose to teach him a lesson. They ambush them on a date and beat the boyfriend up. They talk to Akemi thinking he's a girl and he tells him the con.

So a trap got roped into a cheater sting against a guy, only to be involved with a separate Black Roses cheater sting by the target's other lover. That's wild.

>More story Cont
He kept his crossdressing a secret from them so the Black Roses think he's a woman. They offered him membership. He declined for various reasons but stays in touch with them as an asset for women to test if their boyfriends are cheating on them. Realizing he could get hurt doing this he started training in judo and parkour to escape bad situations.

Tattoo of a crow perched on a skull with a dagger between it's teeth on her left shoulder
>Appearance
Ragged and slightly dirty appearance with a worn tank top and boxing wraps protecting her hands and feet. While a natural redhead, she dyes it in various colors to hide it.
>Personality
Brutish but loyal, she enjoys a good fight and the thrill of pilfering other's property. For Casey she sees everything in three lanes of action; Smash, Steal, Skate. While she can switch up her style between these ideals, her one track mind is both a benefit and a curse depending on the challenge.
>History

Her father was a safecracker while her mother is a fence operating out of the family convenience store. Her father taught her the craft but her mother was worried about her daughter's impetuous behavior. Her father knew when to back off and case an area, Casey would rush headlong into trap unless someone reigned her in. With her feisty temper and wanting to prove her parents wrong she tried breaking into a jeweler's store that her father passed up because of the risk. While her skills in lock-picking and safe-cracking are superb, she still did not plan for advanced security systems and the need for hacking expertise. While she was able to crack the save and nab a few diamond rings, police were already on the scene from the silent security she overlooked. Using the basement of the building, she escaped the police via sewer tunnels. Feeling confident she dropped by her father's safe house and put the rings on his pillow thinking it would impress him.
>>
>>51242017
>History Cont
The only impression it left on him was the boot prints of Velo City police as they seized the safe house the following day. The rings had micro RFID trackers embedded within the bands which allowed the police to track them. She visited her father while he was being processed and wanted to tell him what happened but he already knew it was her. He wasn't angry and said that he'd already taken the rap anyway. If she opened her mouth she'd just stain her record so it's better that he stays locked up to take heat away from the family. Disheartened she returned home where her mother was cleaning up the shop. Her mom thinks that their father was framed by a rival gang and just told her to stay low while she investigates. Casey didn't have the heart to tell her mom the truth and has lived with the guilt ever since. Now she moves to keep her skills sharp and finally become the master thief that can look her father in the eye again.

>>
>>51243177
At first I thought so too but the skirmish bonus does not stack and is lost at the end of her next turn. The danger with this ability is by letting it trigger, either an ally is getting beat down or she takes the hits. It was made originally because we also used the belief/instinct/connection systems from Burning Wheel for the characters. She acts like a bodyguard for the team, primarily for Kiki after he activates Bare My Fangs in Combat. Plus most of the enemies could hit hard and had stuff like stun rods, metal baseball bats, etc. So she could tank one hit with the ability or if they switched interest to her then she gets beaten down too. Her secondary gave her a zone change but we had a small gang of paintballers for the first act with a custom perk called itchy trigger finger that allowed them to get a +2 on Aim Checks against fleeing foes. The main use was my "Purse Pursuit" missions. She was the designated snatch and grabber so once she uses this power, most people realize something is odd or wrong. She gets a small advantage as either the target, police, gangs, and/or a combination of persue her. Then it comes up to the other members to assist her in the theft. Being able to get her to the safe house without getting busted, dropping the package, etc got them cash through her mother being a fence along with occasional karma boosts.

The main thing of the game was teamwork and I even created mini-game events for each character to be a lead on and the others support. I'll post them in a continuation of this post. Also I probably need to release the 4th Character Gon but I can't find his sheet. I think it's on my portable harddrive so I just need to find it.
>>
>>51244393
Kluger: If You Build It
Kluger takes the lead as he is given a job to build a custom mod or equipment. Kluger rolls for Academics to see if can correctly guess the items needed for the job while the team members bring the objects to him so he can fulfill the order. Some items might require going into enemy territory so combat or stealth is also on the table. Then once all the items are assembled the team can help Kluger in a team test to build the order. Fulfilling it gives them money and karma with extra degrees of success getting them extra cash or increased popularity with the faction they did the job for.

Kiki: Confidence Caper
Kiki gets a request through the Black Roses about a guy suspected of cheating, being abusive, etc. The team must help Kiki by gaining information/tools that can help her with the con. Spying on them to find likes/dislikes, hacking his phone/computer to find evidence, delivering extra items to help Kiki get into disguise, etc. Each item/test the team succeed on getting to Kiki increases her dice pool when she seduces the guy. Then the team help with capturing the con on camera. Depending on their style of play this can be complete stealth or possibly lead to combat as they cover Kiki's retreat if the guy attacks/calls on mooks to help.

Morrigan: Purse Pursuit
Morrigan gets a contact for a theft job. This can range from infiltrating a rival gangs storehouse, snatch and grab on a target in the city, or possibly breaking someone out of police custody. The "purse" is the target for this mission and can be loot, equipment, a person, etc. The main event is having Morrigan keep up speed and crack various locks, traps, puzzles, etc to get the purse. After the purse is obtained, the team must help Morrigan using their skills away from the police and/or gang's line of sight for a few turns (normally 3-5). Afterwards she must get to a fence without being attracting attention. High money rewards but can also change how gangs treat you.
>>
>>51244743
That's actually really neat, creating missions types that explicitly play to a character's strength while providing room for the rest of the party to help out.
>>
>>51244743
Biker Character I'll post once I find his sheet.

Gon: 3G Delivery
Gon gets a call about a package needing delivery within a set amount of turns after receiving it. The team must assist Gon to get his delivery there on time. This can range from hacking street lights to give Gon extra time, scouting out a better route for him, getting items to him during his route to boost him (energy drinks/food), etc. While Gon can run lights or cut through enemy territories, it then falls to the team to protect Gon from the police/rival gangs as he delivers the order on time. Completing the mission gets moderate money and karma. These missions are normally not gang affilated but taking jobs for gangs can increase/decrease affinity for other gangs, especially if the rival gang comes for the package and the team must fight them off to protect Gon. For every 5 turns (rounded down) they complete the mission early then they get a minor boost in cash and/or karma.
