Can a unit that has no ranged weapons use the run action in the shooting phase? I feel like the answer is yes, but I don't know.

If so, the max move a Maulerfiend could move in one turn is 30", iirc. 12 in movement, 6 in run, 12 in charge.

Sacred Rose used to be my number pne but white is too mich of a PITA to paint. Silver just looks good. Though since on heraldry you can interchange white and silver I feel like their robes should be red and leave the face plate on the helmet white just to keep it standing put from the rest of the armour.

That said I have always liked painting red cloth over other colors so I admit a bias.

So Horus Heresy is a series of 40+ books that's still missing a gigantic portion of the Heresy's events, such as everything about the war in our solar system, not to mention Terra itself?

I have a similar issue with my Repentia. Yes they have fleet but GW stole their FnP and made it a one-off assault phase Act of Faith that pops during the fight phase. Sure it went to a 3+ but I have to get my T3/6++ models TO combat to make it work.

I personally enjoy crimson with gold, though since you said you didn't like red, blue and purple would both work great. Black would work well too. Green isn't a traditional color with gold, but it wouldn't hurt to try it on a mini then just strip it down if it doesn't work out. I feel like olive green with a lime highlight and black wash could work well to bring out the gold.

Part of the problem is codex limit. Once Tyranids om nom your homeworld and End Times hits Terra, Blood Angels will suspend Codex limits and blow up to the monstrous legion they were before.

The whole one per game rule with faith is fucking stupid. What was wrong with the whole roll a D6 for how many Acts of Faith you can perform? That was a great system that made it so you could occasionally have a nice buff.

As for Repentia, I just got a box of 10 for fun, but I don't know how I'm going to use them. I thought it might be fun for a not competitive list where I took Bullgryn and Repentia together and the Repentia could run behind them for that sweet 3+ cover save.

That would be pretty nice. Throwing a gold trim onto the coat would look great as well.

Vehicles, I'm not sure on. Dunecrawlers with gold highlights and red energy would look great in my opinion. Castellans would look pretty good as well. I thought lime green would look nice earlier, but it would just look gaudy on the vehicles. If you wanted to go green, definitely use a drab.

I think Blackguard will look great on anything. With gold and red, it would look awesome for sure.

Acts of Faith currently suffer from being watered down USRs or Chapter Tactics. The flavor of the C:WH ones were so much better for the army too.

Flipside was C:WH encouraged Immospam for max faith points by running MSUs but the concept was still decent.

I am a big fan of Repentia since they fit the army theme so well and used to look for ways to make them work in both C:WH and the WD-dex. I haven't found a real viable way to use them in a pure Sisters list. Maybe as a massive blob using a lone priest ala the new Ministorum detachment?

First one is nice, if a bit blinding. If you wanted to go for that, I'd say break it up with some silver and bronze, and maybe some non-metallics on the shoulders and thighs.

The middle is nice, but I think the robes are a bit dull myself. This is just personal preference, but I'd throw in some patterns on the edge to make it a bit more popping.

Third one is great. Nice color, nice patterns, enough detail without being crowded, all around wonderfully painted. If you want to stay away from red I'd recommend going for a purple shade since you seemed to enjoy that earlier.

All three are great choices. They'd all look great on vehicles as well. Personally, I think I'd go with the white.

Hm. I've heard white is a bitch to paint though? I've never done white before. And I'd have to free-hand that red detail. So knowing me I'd probably just do the edges red (or whatever) and call it a day. So white cloth, gold metals, and whatever color detailing. Maybe purple.

Purple white and gold sounds like royal colors, honestly.

Also, the first one kind of looks like Custodes, with a black skirt sort of thing. I think that's why it bothers me? I'll keep it in mind. And the second one has nice wood/detailing but the robe part is a little bland. Maybe it's different from the back?

White can be a bitch. It takes a lot of layers to get a decent coat, and other colors cover it up ridiculously easily. Cleaning it up sucks, and freehanding will only exaggerate the problems. Plus, getting a true white shade of white sucks ass. Warhammer TV did have some good white tutorials in one of their 30k videos, they used Rakarth flesh and got a great white color. If you want a similar contrast minus most of the bullshit, I'd say use a light grey. As for freehanding details, I'm with you that it sucks. I'd say try it on a mini or two and see if it's too bad to cover the whole army with. If it is, just go for a few milimeters of purple or gold on the edge.

I found the whole army after a bit of googling. I think I'm kind of a fan, but with less grey metallics probably. More gaudiness.

And yeah, I'll have to look up some tutorials I bet. Maybe a more subdued grey-white would be better? Not sure.

Make sure it's clear to the opponent. If you don't actually run any rangers it's fine for sure, but if at some point you decide to try war convocation it can definitely cause some confusion. That said the guns are kind of a dead giveaway so as long as you keep the guns WYSIWYG it should be fine.

Subduing it is definitely your best option. More opportunity to highlight, more coverage, less coats.

And I agree that that army is a bit too metallic. Using some black or white, particularly on those servos, would help make it a bit less gaudy for sure. I'd also universally recommend painting helmets white, because metal on metal just looks awful.

And snow bases are tons of fun! It can be a bit hard to get them looking unique, but when you get that right zone it always looks fantastic. Though, there are plenty of worlds that would be fine with white, like deserts where it keeps out the heat, and in general, as the imperium is rarely concerned with camoflauge.

Red energy would work. Bright red would be jarring, but the contrast could be nice. Dark red would be a bit less contrast, though not as defined. This is really personal preference. Though, with red energy, it might start to get a little busy with the colors. You might want to just use purple, or a purpler shade of burgundy to maintain the purple theme.

Combat Shields/Thunder Shields would be the equivalent, but space marines would never be deployed for a simple riot control that a riot shield would be.

Their shoulder pauldron in the fluff is used to deflect incoming fire, but that's absurd to really think about.

Seriously how the shit do the transports in imperial agents work, this is so confusing with all these specific factions..

The inquisitorial detachment in particular mashes together a combination of units with the inquisitorial faction, the astra telepathica faction, and the adepta sororitas faction into one unit. Is there anything that actually defines what faction the new unit has?

Or what transport choices it can take?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that everything basically just becomes the acolyte unit, which has the inquisitorial faction and can take its own set of dedicated transports... (many of which have their own not-inquisitorial faction....)

It's bad. Acolytes/Metamorphs attacking from Cult Ambush are the best thing in GSC, especially in a Subterranean Uprising formation.
I'd start with a Cult Insurrection Detachment, you could combine a Neophyte Cavalcade if you want vehicles with a Subterranean Uprising.
And I wouldn't take a CAD in lower point games, even in higher ones it's main point is adding more HQs.

I have both sets of HH plastics that I want to make Night Lords that can be used as both CSM and Legion. I've also bought a Raptor and CSM box for bits and a pair of Drop Pods to convert into Dread Claws. The problem is that I just don't know how I should build my army. Either of them. Like, I have pic related that I want to use as a Lord/Praetor, but that's about it.

I feel like I don't want to assemble anything because I'm not sure. I want to use a lot of LC because that's how I see Night Lords, but things like LC terminators/Chosen aren't good in 40k.

Sort of I have all the 1k sons models I wanted to slot into my Alpha Legion list. Only to find out that they are just as garbage as they were with the base codex. I want to bring my army up a notch to stand a chance in the local tau filled meta.

i recommend a knight in that case as i believe fluff before strength and the knight should be good enough to give you the kick you need against the tau.

If stormsurges and ripetides had a limit to how many you could take in a list would that make them less annoying/OP. I ask this because it seems people dont care about one stormsurge or ripetide but multiples is where people draw the line.

Nope. Mark of Nurgle CSM are basically just Plague Marines sans poisoned melee attacks, with the bonus that you can put heavy weapons in them too and take advantage of relentless (AUTOCANNONS ON THE HOOF) and are cheaper than plague marines.

If playing by ITC rules it isn't iirc. Otherwise it is, but it's not really synergistic. Try going for a Cult Insurrection Detachment + 2 CADs with min Acolytes and 2-2 Magi each.
