The only way you'll learn is to do it.

Trust me, it's fun. If you're a true beginner to DMing, hop on the 5e general, and download a few adventurer's league things from the trove and go nuts. Those lead into the written modules, which generally means you won't have to do much planning at all, just read a book and improvise when things fall off the rails.

If you have a good rapport with your group, they'll forgive you.

The time is the summer of 1991. The place is the town of Split Mountain in eastern Oregon. Only a few months ago, a delinquent in the local high school named Johnny Osborne came across a mysterious artifact: an Arrow.
He used this Arrow to give himself and a few of his closest friends Stands, strange powers that defy explanation.
Two weeks ago, Johnny vanished overnight. Nobody could find any evidence of him running away or being kidnapped. It was as if he had disappeared into thin air, taking the Arrow with him.
You've heard rumours of strange things happening after Johnny's disappearance. Of other people with Stands, their powers given to them by an Arrow.
Someone must have taken Johnny, killed or abducted him for the power that he had found.

This looks like the start of a bizarre adventure...

Frankly, it wasn't my first choice for a system.
I went through several other systems before settling on Fate, simply because you can run anything with Fate. There is also a pretty good set of JoJo rules for Fate, so that helped the decision.

The best part about FFG starwars is the crit-tables.
I made a crit-fishing combat-medic with a shitty scalpel as an only weapon to make sure the enemies died of the crits and not the damage.
Was cool to roleplay, was cool thematically and really cool to actually play mechanically when you weren't hiding in cover.

I am trying to run a X-Crawl using DCC, Xcrawl its an alternate history game where Magic is real, Most normal fantasy races are there, america became something similar to the roman empire and in their decadence started making Gladiator matches/ Dungeon Crawls to please the public that are living a shit life.
Also its kinda like the 90's with no nuclear weapons, Modern Medicine and anything that isn't a big city probably haves Barbarians or Dragons.

The whole point is that players have no idea this is Nasuverse, and that they play a supposedly lovecraftian horror story about JASDF investigation team uncovering an accident with a flight of F-15Js getting lost in a mist near a city where children are disappearing, "accidents" happen all too often, local administration is bought by a few hyper-rich families and rumors about a hidden society preparing a human sacrifice ritual to appease some unknowable and omnipotent deity are whispered in the shadows.
I doubt that people here wouldn't guess the references right away.

I like voice games because I'm playing in one with my buddies from University. After we all graduated and went to different cities we kept playing our weekly game, but we switched to Roll20 and Skype (later Discord).
