2. All of a unit's shooting attacks are declared at the same time, at the time of declaring the attack, the contents of a transport are not a valid target.

A) All of a unit's weapons are declared simultaneously so once you declare you're firing at a target all the guns have to fire at that target.

I prefer the Scryerskull Perspicatus over Arkhan's Pimp Cane if I'm not using Cohort Cybernetica or don't plan to put my TPD in a unit consisting of 2+ wound units. Kind of feels like a waste and a bit of overkill to give him double IWND without benefitting from the unit-wide IWND as well, though that's just personal preference due to my love for having cotrol over Mysterious Objectives and an easy boost against vehicles.

Beginner here, looking for a cheap-ish army with good kitbash opportunities. I like mid-range and/or melee combat, and tough as hell units, either elites or a swarm of them (used to play Trollbloods in WM/H, playing Ressurrectionists in Malifaux). I also want to have an at least semi-competitive army. What would you recommend me? Torn between Death Guard, World Eaters and KDK (just realized that WHFB Chaos Knights could be used to make the sexiest bikers ever). Unfortunately from the assault-based Loyalists BA are meh, Space Wolves are absolutely detastable both in their fluff and models and BTs rules seem just bland and boring compared to the Chaos Armies (I love the idea of Boons and the Blood Tithe on paper).

Space Wolves are possibly the most plainly viable assault-focused army in the game right now. If you hate their full and models (good taste) then just kitbash a shitload of counts-as, using as much Chaos as you like because they're basically a Chaos army anyway. They even use daemon weapons.

Given your choices I think KDK is probably the best choice for you. They're a fun assault army with tons of toys and a few builds that are worth looking at. They'll play more to the tough elite side but can pull off hordes with cultists and it isn't terrible.

I'm starting an Emperor's Children force after Christmas because Thousand Sons are still overcosted and Sisters are still never ever. Tips on what boxes to buy? So far I'm looking to get a Battleforce (because my FLGS might still have one, SC box otherwise), Rhino, Helturkey, and another box of CSM.

Black Templars are supposedly getting neat things in the upcoming Fall of Cadia. I think they are the best looking marines but getting an upgrade pack isn't exactly on the cheap side.

You could try Grey Knights but last I heard they are not so great in this edition.

Moving away from Loyalists, I'd avoid Death Guard for melee. They lose a point of Initiative allowing any other marine force to hit first.

As for World Eaters and KDK, I'd first ask if you want to have daemons or not.

I have all the harlequins build and painted but I am still working on buying and building my dark eldar. What do you guys think of the list? Basically I want to boost the reavers and grotesques up turn one to try and buy time for the harlequins. Go based on aesthetic. Death Guard has lots of easy greenstuff options for distended flesh. World Eaters / KDK can take a lot from the AoS Khorne stuff. Both are great in melee.

I've played a similar list off and on for awhile. It is a fun list but it is so fragile and you often run in to issues with the Venoms being worthless as armor becomes more prevalent in the meta again.

I'm interested in your choice to go with extra Star Weavers for fast instead of a Sky Weaver unit - Sky Weavers are a pretty solid unit, they've done well for me over the course of several games.

I agree with the venoms, that is why I didn't feel bad about not putting my kabolites in them. I figured my kabolites can sit in my backfield, away from the action grabbing objectives. I would put skyweavers in the list but I don't have enough room. I do kinda want to try making a huge unit of them with the rerollable jink save and then take a death jester with shrouding on them for 2+ rerollable jink and a ton of ap2 attacks.

Current draft.

Commander and Bodyguards as one unit to deep strike, and we're going tank hunting. Plasma Crisis starts on the board, as do Missile Crisis, with a focus on wiping out light armor and MEQs/TEQs turn 1 if possible (the pods will do more of this, but since I face Blood Angels most often, the plasma suits have a chance). Longstrike and the Broadsides in pseudo formation, picking off armored targets at range. Tetra marks the way for the Commander to no-scatter while doing its doubled up markerlights, drone net does tons of marking. Remoras come in turn 2, dump seekers, and start mulching infantry. Ghostkeel stays in the background to hunt a tank as needed, stealth suits... do stealth suit things.

About 5 have conversions. There's currently 3 eversor poses (two metal, one plastic), and the first one at least allows variation between sword and pistol for his right hand, so there is at least some variation. I don't have a camera, sorry. I tried to use my laptop's webcam and swiftly decided its better not to. I won't lie, I forgot that even the metal pose 1 and metal pose 2 use them same body; it's just the arms that are different (holding the head up versus the neuro-gauntlet), so when I put them together, I've got about 11 all with that general shape (and varying arms).

I'm pretty happy with the new plastic one though. Despite its ridiculous pose that would be even more monotonous with multiple, I'm thinking about cutting away that wall piece and making some new poses out of it. I don't like cutting metal, so my other conversions are basically just greenstuff additions.

Randfag is the fedora-neckbeard who keeps going on about his objectivism on this board. He's the one who is just going on and on about people being "looters" and degenerates, which goes along with his very limited worldview. So i just started looking into the Deathwatch and the fact that they can buy one terminator in a squad confuses me. Like terminators are already bad when theres 5 of them why would you bring just one?

As a fellow blood ravens player, just choose whatever best fits the game you're playing.
Blood ravens are described in the original index Astartes entry as using their libbys to scry battles before they engage an enemy and then creating a battle plan that best fits the situation.
Unless you want to list tailor, being gifted chapter tactics is the best way to represent that.

And it allows you to run a myriad of different lists, which is always fun.

Terminators are bad because they cost too much. One dude costs far less, and can take a meltafist to provide a threat the enemy cannot ignore. So what if they he dies? He was like 50 points and just bought your other more expensive dudes a turn of safety from whatever the opponent used to kill him.

They're also Fearless if memory serves and as such make decent Wolf Guard-esque sarges if you like.

I really want to make bike converts for Rough Riders. I was thinking of getting Marine Scout Bikes and putting the top half as Cadians. It's not like Rough Riders are very expensive either. Only problem is that they are significantly worse than they were in 5th. At least back then you got +2 Strength and +2 Initiative on the first strike. Now they'll get Overwatched and beaten to death before they can even hit.

I hope in the next codex they get rid of Rough Riders and give the Guard a bike unit. T4 and 4+ armor and maybe access to the Taurox Gatling Cannon thing as one of their heavy weapon upgrades.

You resolve all shots from same kind of weapon first. So you see if those cannons blasts hit, then you see if they penetrate the armor. After that you roll on penetration chart.
