But yes more or less just imagine a character and its almost impossible to step on anyones toes. We have a world and its fluffed out a lot but were able to adapt most things to fit.

"Apologies, folks, I won't be able to deliver the tree this year. I accidentally cross-pollinated the Douglas Fir with an interesting plant called a 'Kat-a-chin Spiker' that a short muscular visitor wearing a red bandanna left here a while back.
Its needles are now as hard and sharp as Mythril arrowheads, which wouldn't be too much of a problem, except it fires them at literally any movement, living or undead. I've lost half of my crop of scream-melons, two visiting minstrels, one of miss Lupa's flesh-beasts, the bottle of Witsplinter Brandy it was there to pick up, and about half a gross of my necroplantic creations(including two of my mossdogs).
I will resume my regular service once I have dealt with it. Merry Wizardmas to all of you, and may Godzilla bless.

Well you see, originally the holiday was celebrated in the spring, as the ancient texts say that the shepard-golems were driving their flocks down to pasture at the time of the very first Wizardmas.

Knowing that winter was a much more festive time for a celebration though, the supreme council of wizards, with the approval of the all-mighty god of magic, decided to move the holiday from the spring to a more suitable date, and so a grand ritual was performed to re-locate Wizardmas to this month.

It was a resounding success and now here we are, soon to celebrate another Wizardmas in a few days! To think the only side-effect was that they deleted 3 days for every 4 years that pass. I'm sure if anything important ever happened on those days we'd know about it.

Well, we've been using the ghouls for that for a while now, since they technically meet the requirements for the ritual, but they're basically dead and mindless, so people aren't upset when the fire consumes them.

We do it every year! It was one thought to help us reestablish our connection to the arcane web that binds us to the cosmos... But now we know it doesn't really do anything, but we observe the burning due to tradition.

Though if we wanted to get VERY traditional, we could also summon a demon bound to the fire and dance skyclad, but we haven't done that since the mass pregnancy scare some decades past. A lot of seventh sons came seeking us some seven years after.
