With the sword, my form and my queen, we're going to beat the shit out of the pale ones, for one. Then we'll do trade deals with demons to get some sweet weapons (since we're a knowledge country we'll trade with access to facilities or knowledge I guess, make the tower usefull) and we'll try to bring the hunters on their knees at some point. Since we're not a very military nation except for the leaders I think we'll try to assassinate/corrupt their leaders first and take hold of their weapon stashes. Mortals with pointy sticks can't compare to us mighty vampires.
I'll try not to die in the process, we have a lot of time after all, vampires live for a long damn time.

Lastly that pre-ripened cunny is anything close to tight. (Gee, I wonder how long deleting this might last. Also that's it's acceptable. Also that authorities WILL find things out.)

I will remind you again of the poll that will take in January. An arbitrary number of CYOAs will fight for the title of the best, author of the winning CYOA will get the "Autistic Choice Image of 2016 Award".
Nominate CYOAs which you consider deserving of participating. Only restriction is that only CYOAs made in 2016 are allowed.

>This idea sucks, I want to prevent this stupid poll from ever taking place
Get enough anons on your side and I will vanish into oblivion, never to be heard of again.
>>
>>50754795
Maybe have it where an author who has multiple cyoas listed, should have their cyoas fight against each other first?
>>
>>50754621
You have lots of offense, for sure.
Why did you pick bloodoil over other options?
>>
>>50754858
I wanted to satisfy the inevitable scientists that will develop nightmareish blood fueled weapons for my conquests.
Or simply have this oil for their research since it's stated they need it and we have "riches" so we can abduct/hire mortals that have the knowledge to build oil rigs. We're going to be a powerful nation that spends way too much in military and annex shitters, then do deals with the demons to help them against heaven provided it doesn't do us too much arm/they help us good against the hunters. I just want to get rid of the hunters, overall.

The thing is, it doesn't work exactly because it's a frame and not a line. Though even if it was I line, I think lifting it by 3 pixels still wouldn't hurt.

Glad I didn't pick Revenge. I'm honestly pretty well disposed towards her for making these kinds of changes to my life, and I'd feel really awful about destroying her will for it. >Not sure between that and Enhanced Muscles, but I think I can probably just adjust my tone with Shape Change. Enhanced Muscles look like they're more to become a tumor person, and that's not my fetish.
Looking over the notes, it seems that with the right alterations, both can be used to be a tumor person, although by not picking Enhanced Muscles you'd be missing out on Enhanced Bodyparts' shared qualities 2 (easily carried around regardless of shape/size), 3 (enhanced sense of where parts of your body are in relation to one another, in this case the bulging muscles in particular), and 5 (the ability to squeeze them into or through spaces that shouldn't be able to accomodate them normally).
>I'm honestly pretty well disposed towards her for making these kinds of changes to my life, and I'd feel really awful about destroying her will for it.
Not destroyed, just under your control. It's kind of like that Persona Magic mentioned in the notes (with the exception that you're in charge and it only applies on her - the power of the curse enables overcoming the "self-cast only" thing). You could have her act as if she wasn't enslaved at all, and she'd probably be quite thankful for it. Also no danger of accidentally giving orders (the curse is "smarter" than that).

>>50755611
>3 leftover points because I seriously don't need them at all, what the hell.

This is a ridiculously petty complaint, BUT:

I find it incredibly odd that you chose a Greek resistance member with ties to the British resistance to head the communist faction, as the British-backed resistance organizations directly came into conflict with the KKE, the Greek Communist Party, that dominated the resistance movement in Greece.

I'd think Aris Velouchiotis, the in/famous guerrilla leader and commune proponent, or Markos Vafiadis, the Marshal of the KKE's forces during the civil war, would be make better fits for the position.

Well, I don't really want to be a tumor person, but that description makes enhanced muscle much more useful, given how important proprioception is for pretty much any tasks requiring dexterity.

I think I'll drop fluid production for it. I don't really need the ability to produce gallons of sexual fluids, not as much as I could use the other abilities.

Point taken on Revenge, but I still prefer being able to choose who I'm going to empower than being bound to one person forever.

Bride(s): Wilhelmina
Symbol of office: The Rod
Pool: Batfolk
Estate: Creepy Manor
Country: Bloodfruit, Climate (red-tinted prairies leading to rocky fog-laden stone beaches and fjords, and thick foggy forests and moors around our borders.), Scenic, Lost
Borders: Werewolves, Hunters, Trolls.

Well, let's get this started. Our first priority is Infrastructure.Anke, if you don't mind, I'd like to see some designs on my desk by... Two midnights from now. Sorry, time takes some getting used to here. Specifically, I want to see designs for reinforced transport and storage tunnels, large ones, reminiscent of the subway systems of the mortal world. I'd also like to see proper planning for efficient orchard layouts for the bloodfruit crops, so they can be harvested, stored, and distributed easily. I also want some larger fields fenced off with high stone walls close to the border with the wolves. Polly, if it's not too much trouble, do you think you could negotiate for some livestock? I want to be friendly neighbors and give the wwolves a nice juicy target so we can start playing those raiding games together. Nothing brings neighbors together like sharing friendly passtimes. I'm going to have Sister Mary make a complete list of all the influential figures in the hunting lands. You and she will work together to destroy their leadership. I want you to make it look like mortal militaries from the human world are invading, and that their churches are powerless to protect them. Then our own dear Blood Church will open its doors and offer them sanctuary. Simple infiltration techniques should be more than enough to position our forces appropriately so that once the Hunter churches figure out what's going on, we'll be poised to strike them down. That should secure our borders well enough and keep converts to the Blood Church rolling in. Wilhelmina, darling? How would a gradual annexation of the Hunter lands affect your long-term plans?

Drake - Mid-range isn't my favored position, but it's better than being slow. Nobody is quick and good at direct melee combat in the CYOA. More on that at the end of the build.

Imbue - Seems the most versatile.

Boost - None of the rest are really good for my build. Really, most of these are very bad for

combat races. Kind of annoying how it's all support here.

Medium Gun (7)
Medium Melee (5)
Arachne Silk Armor (10)
Heavy Shielder (60)
Power Generator (12)
Alarm System (11)
Magic Ammo (15)

I'm not teaming up with any of you.

Could've used a quick melee specialist race, but this is months old by this point. Speaking of races, I don't see any reason to go Oni over Golem. Golems do everything better than Onis plus have additional powers. This really struck me because everyone else can at least be pinned to a unique role, except Onis. Well, Undying are pretty useless too, but that can at least be blamed on the situation and not their powers.

Since I'm motivated to do it, I'll list the weakest races and why they aren't all that effective:

Oni - They don't do anything Golems aren't better at. Strength, durability, plus Golems have rock powers while oni have no such thing.

Undying - Even the CYOA points out their powers are useless in this situation. All they can use, the regen, is meaningless when they're not particularly good at combat, and any smart team has heal support anyway. They'd be very good in a traditional war, at least.

Holstaur - Only good as a personal servant. Not really worth feeding in a combat situation.

Dullahan - No ranged options or durability boost mean it's stupidly risky for them to be in combat. Death Sight would make them very good at it, sure, but ANY mistakes doom them. Heads Up is inferior in coms/information gathering next to Seer. Harbinger is useless, anyone that's played a game with long wind up attacks knows that they're only useable in fights specifically designed for them.

Aquarius - Very limited movement options. Water skating inferior to walking, gliding with a need to build up speed beforehand inferior to flight. Healing is inferior to slimes, except in the case of poisons. No reason to assume holy energy is particularly effective on Fiends. Water blasts are inferior offensively to Ice, Fire, and Stone, the other elemental options available. They're better than Oni just because they can be both a healer and a combatant at once, unlike a Slime which has to specialize in one or the other.

Rank 3 weapon (5) That's the least to slay aforementioned titans
Mythril armor (10) That's the VERY LEAST to not die against the wrath of the mega yandere (which I think I won't be able to evade for long).

I hope the mega yandere is a cute and that stealth 2 is enough to evade her for some time when it's needed. Since she will probably become one of the only contact I have with "regular" human beings (the others being too in awe/fear/wanting to use me to care/talk with me normally), I would warm up to her and welcome her rather quickly I guess. I will try to prevent her from harming the people I protect and what little friends I might make on the way, I would probably try to manipulate it so she believes that hurting them is equal to hurting me and if she thinks I don't see her enough she should just hang out with all of us instead of making a fuss about it.
Will enjoy slaying monsters with her. If she grants me immortality against my will I will be pissed at first because I don't want to be immortal and already have a 600 years lifespan which is way more than enough but I don't have a choice I guess, so I will enjoy things to the fullest and go crazy like her after 300 or 400 years I believe. We'd go rogue and see who can stop us and with our regerative capacity plus our endurance en strength it should be very difficult for any government to hold onto us for very long.

Mana works more like traditional /tg/ spell-casting, without the vancian bits. Spells must be learned, and cast with their spell components. A Legendary Hunter can cast the equivelent of cantrip-lvl 3 spells at will, no components needed, 4-6 are cast as normal, 7-8 require the use of the blast, and level 9 spells are very tiring, and can only be cast once per day.

Extra fast, agile, hit and run tactics. Have a "nigh-endless" stamina that's halved due to the tattoo but that should still be a lot. Plus the extra energy and activity due to the tattoo as well. So Harpies are faster than most cars. Figure around 120 mph minimum. Carry Harpies are three times as fast, ballpark it 400 if I really push myself. That's slow for a fighter plane but I am infinitely more maneuverable. Heavy Power Armor gives me a hard shell without sacrificing speed and add even more punch to my already crushing talon strikes. My wings will be a fairly obvious weak point but there's not much to be done there. Hopefully we can work out some sort of flexible way to add at least a little protection to them. The gun and missiles are mounted in the armor vertically along my back; they won't be very useful when I'm standing or hovering but they're intended for use at high cruising speeds for intercepting fliers and strafing ground targets. The gun is a very high ROF cannon with armor-piercing bullets and the missiles are combination of high-explosive dummy rockets, armor-piercing missiles, and some sort of heat- or fiend-seeking missile if something like that is possible. The loadout can of course be changed depending on the mission. I decided against magic ammo since endurance isn't my strong suit anyway. Plus, running dry just gives me an excuse to get in with my talons and mess some fiends up.

>Hunting will last indefinitely

I think that as populations dwindle, rural hunting will get more and more difficult, like any other resource rush. I don't think game hunting is long-term sustainable for food production, especially not on the scale we need it.

>More efficient animals

If you're talking genetic engineering, that has a whole host of problems that are more morally complex even than the vat meat.

Fairly convinced the war is still 3-way. Will insect protein win? I don't know. It depends on how cost-effective it is and how well-marketed it is. Economically speaking soy alternatives have the largest economic foothold/infrastructure to support, but they don't have the culinary flexibility of the other two options.
>>
>>50762621

>>
>>50762642
Insects have zero flexibility.
>>
>>50762578
>hunting animals (the US has a lot of animals to hunt still)

Sustainable hunting results in extremely low yield that simply can't sustain high population densities.

If I had to place a bet on anything its probably high intensity fish farming in countries that has a large fresh/salt water source and soy and insect farming in poor countries that lack fresh water.
>>
>>50762642
More efficient as in cutting out cows. Pigs can live off of almost anything, so they are still suitable for our needs. Rabbits barely eat and are highly efficient for the food you do give them. Chickens eat insects and seeds, which humans largely avoid. Even Turkey is reasonable to raise.
>>
>>50762614
>Not fast. Normal speed.

>Speed is a golem's most average stat
>With this specialization, you'll have greatly heightened speed.
Shield and Earthshaker golems have speed on par with everyone else. Swords are "greatly heightened".

>Fragile air support.

As fragile as everything else and their description makes specific note of their dexterity and powerful talon attacks.

>Get no bonus to any stats over anyone,

>Make you stronger and all that
If the "super" in the name wasn't hint enough for you, they're explicitly just all around better. Plus Tech humans (the one you'd pick if you wanted a combat oriented role) start out much more skilled (read: faster) than anyone else.

Are you even looking at the same CYOA?
>>
>>50762682
>Turkey

The animal, not the nation. Though I wouldn't mind a kebab made of Turks.
>>
>>50762677

But that's wrong.

>Chitin flour
>Shelled as topping
>Fuckload of cooking methods that require little prepwork (flavor is similar to shrimp, so anything you could put shrimp in works for grasshoppers)
>Larger insects can be cooked in-shell and cracked, like crab
>Numerous flavor profiles for more subtle or more bold dishes

I don't expect someone on /tg/ to know culinary shit very well, so I understand the misconception. To get soy to do things like that takes a lot more prep time. Vat meat, however, has a lot more of this same versatility so time will tell.
>>
>>50762696
They're greatly heightened beyond the slightly slower golem speed. They're not fast melee.

The harpies are fragile because of their wings and lack of hands. They're only good for aerial support, not getting into the thick of melee.

And superhumans just get the generic boost she gives EVERYONE in addition to their class. It's the baseline they all share before racial bonuses. And no, anon, skill in this CYOA is weapons skill. Not speed.
>>
>>50762682

All of this is true! Hopefully we move to more sustainable animals, but americans have a problem eating bunnies because they're cute. The CYOA actually specifies on the third page that melee is as good as guns. If I had to guess, I'd say the fiends lack vital organs or just have hard enough skin that a slashing/piercing weapon does damage more efficiently.

Also, I don't see why snakeskin would put you above lamia base when the specialization is thicker than normal scales. It just makes the most sense that you'd go up to normal. Besides, desu I don't think single use ablative armor is all that great.

The item integration service is basically a better version of Boost. Not just, no. Pre-5e Rangers, for example, focus on multi-attack with dual shortswords (or archery, but that's not relevant here) as their direct combat option. Animal companion and divine magic backup, sure, but their main combat behavior is as a faster melee fighter.

>Slightly slow

>It just works
Under your assumption.

>How does it avoid dying to the first lucky shot?
Having less armor doesn't mean it has NONE. Look at Drakes. They're not heavily armored because they're meant to be mid-ranged attackers, but they do have armored skin that gives them better damage resistance than something like a Dullahan which gets nothing extra. That's on top of the default durability boost everyone has to make them not a squishy human.
>>
>>50760187
Anybody got the original version of the art for the "brain"?
>>
>>50760254
Oni's got more power than Golem with two of their abilities, and the third makes them good at running distraction duty.

Undying is more of a commander than a conventional soldier - they take an army of people who are already dead, or make an army of semi-invulnerable people like them, and go on suicide missions.

Dullahans' Death Sight is exceptionally powerful, and they don't need ranged powers when they can just use ranged weapons. Moreover, their Harbinger works because there are fights designed for them - like Gameras or Behemoths. They're your biggest guns.

Then there are Holstaurs. Like it says, they're not meant for combat, they're built for the long haul. Get some training and they're unflagging engineers or commanders.

Aquarius are a speedster species, well suited to hit and run. Their movement might not be practical, but they can build up enough speed to fly. Also, don't forget that while water might not be as damaging as fire, it also imparts a lot of momentum; it's similar to a Golem's stone powers but with the power to move at even faster speed.
>>
>>50764459
>Oni
Their first two powers boost their strength, maybe up to golem level, with more downsides. One only temporarily. That doesn't help their durability, nor give them stone powers. The last one is entirely inferior to a superhuman's bait, because the Oni needs to be damaging something. In that case, that something is already paying attention to them, making it useless.

>Undying
The problem with Undying is entirely the war they're in. Against a conventional army, they'd be very scary. Against Fiends, their necromancy doesn't work. Remember that your goal is to stop monsters from killing people, not let them slaughter a town first. Their regen is inferior to healing, and if you leave it in someone too long it's apparently dangerous, I'm guessing they turn into zombies. So not a good option.

>Dullahan
Death Sight works, it's just stupidly risky. They're one of the squishiest races. There aren't fights designed for Harbinger, because there's nothing forcing a Gamera or Behemoth to ignore the screaming portal to the underworld that wants to hit them. Only the pre-programed attack patterns and complete blindness of videogame bosses allows stuff like this to work.

>Holstaurs
They're also squishy, so you don't want them in a battle. When you only have four in a squad it's being very wasteful to have someone whose only job is to support you morally.

>Aquarius
I don't know where you're getting speedster from. Why would they be faster than something like a harpy? They can't walk, they need to room to water skate everywhere (it's going to really ruin your base, by the way), or glide, which requires said takeoff for an inferior flight option compared to harpies. The issue with the momentum argument for the Hydro Pump is that's STILL leaving you something inferior to a Harpy's true flight in convenience, maneuverability, speed, and take off. Drakes also beat them at all of that except maybe speed while also being better combatants.

I give my soldiers a second chance at protecting their homes, families and people. >>
>>50765328
>>50765063
I'm fairly sure the option is meant to top-out lower than that. Stuff that's just outside of being reasonably carried by a human, let alone fired. Something that'd be mounted on a humvee or APC, not a aircraft gun or artillery piece.
>>
>>50765351
Except that the "heavy guns" are literally used to "make" artillery and aircraft, when purchased in combination with a turret or helicopter. Tanks are also available, which come with a "built in heavy gun", referring to their main cannon.

>But not stupidly so. Rangers can use medium armor without too much investment and be fine.
And rangers don't get a speed boost. They're partial casters, not fast melees. Barbarians have shittons of HP, and Monks... are monks.

>This was addressed earlier. Not much of one. Doesn't make them not a bulky tank.
A little slow + much faster = well within "fast" ranges, especially for a big guy.

>Read that tattoo again. You do not want it anywhere near a combat race. It's only useful for support roles.
It's decent for a skirmisher, a.k.a. the primary role of a fast combatant.

>It doesn't contradict what I'm saying either, so it doesn't need to overrule it.
Except it does. It specifically says you get faster. If there were any speed reduction, it'd "reduce" or "counteract" the penalty. The only thing that implies a slowness is a slightly thicker skin - and maybe it just gives you a slight speed boost to counteract it.

>No amount of speed is going to make the gun capable of firing beyond its mechanical ability.
But enough speed can let you not get hit in the first place - as long as you stay out of their reach. This makes ranged speedsters better than melee ones.
>>
>>50765037
Huh. But yeah, I figure why not mitigate the damage being caused by having a team that specializes in going around and recovering those that were lost, healing and strengthening them, maybe helping to build "travel stops" type bases on roads between cities to allow escorted groups of humans to travel more safely by having frequent bases along the way to hole up in as needed.

(We wouldn't be, at least not on our own, those that'd serve as escorts. That probably ought to include a bit more offense, though healers could follow and revive any killed, so perhaps we could act as part of escort mission.)

I guess if I'm only one proposing being esplicitly support focused, could take that as evidence of severe lack of support folks, thus was wise choice. :)

>And rangers don't get a speed boost.
Because speed in DnD is entirely about movement speed. The closest to attack speed would be dex and the multi-attack feats, both of which they're good for.

>Well within fast ranges
Not what I'm talking about for fast.

>It's decent for a skirmisher.
Double stamina usage, having to sleep half again as much, you're effectively a massive, pitiful burden on your entire team that they're getting very little use out of.

>Except it does
It does not. It's logical to assume a heavier set of scales slows you down.

>But enough speed can let you not get hit in the first place
The entire point of fast melee.

>This makes ranged speedsters better than melee.
The only decent melee class right now is Golem, and considering they also have ranged abilities, as well as terraforming, and are made of literal stone that can heal itself, you are underestimating them.

Mainly I don't see your interest in there not being fast melee fighters in the CYOA.
>>
>>50765469

>>50764585
You're assuming Oni aren't as strong as Golems, rather than being on even footing. I assume they're as strong, which makes an enhanced Oni even stronger. Also, their last one is more selective than Bait - they can get one enemy at a time, rather than the whole pack.

There's going to be no shortage of corpses for the undying to deal with, and remember that they can use ordinance. Suicide bomber zombies? Pretty reasonable tactic for them.

Dullahan in armor or a tank aren't much squishier than anyone else. Remember, you have modern and magical equipment as well as your powers. As for Harbinger... Remember those Oni you were calling useless? They make a killer team.

Holstaurs aren't moral support, they're support in general. Support is vital in a war. They're also the guys who can keep shooting all night long.

Aquarius are fast enough to glide when they slide around. That's pretty fast, even if they have wings. They can also be fast without taking off, which harpies can't.

Flight Armor and Heavy Power Armor for defense should overcome a Slime's natural squishiness, and flight is always useful. (79)
Restored explosives to go with the rocket launcher, (101) and regen armor to further boost physical power. (117)

Basically, a tank slime. I'm kind of assuming regenerated bullets launched from a natural weapon in a slime also carry the melting property that the slime has. Usefulness of the build might take a hit if not.

>You're assuming Oni aren't as strong as Golems
Oni only get scaled human strength. Humans are incredibly, pitifully weak physically, so that isn't at all impressive. Meanwhile Golems are just called very strong, and are giant stone statues who have to heft what's going to at least be a ton or two of weight. It's not a stretch to assume Golems are superior physically.

>It's more selective than Bait.
Okay, but my point was that something you're hitting for significant damage is paying attention to you already, meaning the specialization isn't doing anything.

>There's going to be no shortage of corpses.
Issue here is you need to convince the people and government to ship you corpses. If you're getting corpses from your locale, then you're failing as a soldier in your assignment.

>Dullahan in armor
When you're reliant on precise actions to see your precognition through, I don't think bulky encumbrance is the best choice. It interferes with your ability to act.

>Oni team
This assumes the enemy can't swat at the screaming portal.

>Support is vital in a war.
Sure, but you only have four non-humans on your team. You're going to waste a slot on support instead of buying some humans to do it?

>Not what I'm talking about for fast.
Still fast enough to outrun regular-speed enemies. Also tough enough to be a decent warrior.

>Double stamina usage, having to sleep half again as much, you're effectively a massive, pitiful burden on your entire team that they're getting very little use out of.
Really? If taking out two enemies at once would wind a regular golem, then melee is pretty damn weak. You could still juggernaut through a cluster before getting into a clearing.

>It does not. It's logical to assume a heavier set of scales slows you down.
Except it would say if it did. It always mentions when wings let you go faster, or scales make you tougher (even on the exposed bits). A small amount of extra armor doesn't magically weigh you down insurmountably slow. Hell, think of it like training weights.

>The entire point of fast melee.
Except with melee, you are required to get into the reach of your target. This poses an obvious problem for fast melee combatants.

>>This makes ranged speedsters better than melee.
>The only decent melee class right now is Golem, and considering they also have ranged abilities, as well as terraforming, and are made of literal stone that can heal itself, you are underestimating them.
MELEE SPEEDSTERS. CONTEXT CLUES.

>Mainly I don't see your interest in there not being fast melee fighters in the CYOA.
I never said a damn word about that. I said that between Lamias, Sword Golems, Aquarii, and repurposed Flight Armors, there's more than enough fast melee for you.

Fuckit, anyone else want to chime in? Maybe someone new could shed some light on a misunderstanding or something.
>>
>>50765660
Natural Weapons says ammo is regenerated over time. I'm assuming, due to the only material nearby that it could be made out of (assuming the material isn't just magically created from nothing) is slime, that the bullets are made from slime.

Or maybe they're magically created lead bullets, and the effect would require the alt ammo, but that seems wasteful of magic. (Not that that's a real concern)

Not if it assumes people would reach the same conclusion I did.

>Except with melee, you are required to get into the reach of your target.
Again, have you ever had any contact with fantasy? Quick, dodgy up-close fighters are common. Hell, a game called Xenolade has a concept called a dodge tank, which is melee fighter so good at dodging they're just as good at dealing with an enemy's attacks as a regular tank.

>CONTEXT CLUES
Well, again, if melee is as good as ranged at regular speeds, why wouldn't it be at increased speeds?

>I never said a damn word about that.
My entire argument is about wanting a niche that isn't present, but on your end, it's just been telling me to use these other races that don't fulfill that niche but might be vaguely similar. Also, don't remember you mentioning Aquarius or flight armor.

Rage Drakes, Sword Golems, and self-Linked Dullahans look like they'd be pretty fast. I'm also still willing to bet on flash step, because there has to be some anime bullshit involved for swords to = guns.
>>
>>50765830
Drakes are meant to spam fire. CYOA tells you this outright. Sword Golems are not fast melee, they're a somewhat faster tank. Self-linked Dullahans just get a boost to head/body coordination.
>>
>>50765875
>have much greater strength and speed
>greatly heightened speed
>moderate boosts to each other's abilities
>>
>>50765889
To be used spamming fireballs, their strength as the CYOA states. They're mid-range fighters.

Greatly enhanced over somewhat reduced speed. Again, doesn't make them that much faster. Especially doesn't make the giant stone statue suddenly a dodgy, quick melee fighter.

The part about boosting abilities is in the description of you being linked to someone else. The Dullahan self-link is it's own sentence that dictates what that gives you. Also the vanity and narcissism boosts makes them insufferable filth.
>>
>>50765063
I'm trying to figure out what to build around a drone like this.

I think either a Drake with Imbue or a Healing Slime. The Drake makes a great drone support. I can imbue the bullets, fly around with the drone (because a flying drone is totally legit), and my default abilities are enough for close in self defense.

The healing slime is a self contained build in that it doesn't rely on any sort of equipment. Slimes are literally indestructible and pretty bad with weapons, so both weapons and armor are unnecessary. While I can't use my powers to heal a drone, I'm wondering if I can't flow inside it and be a slime mechanic.

The AI is also debatable. The drone+AI costs 116 credits (and no power generator, either a teammate will have to bring one or I'll have to hope a single drone can run without it), alternatively I could just use an HMD which leaves me with 42 credits. I kind of like the build where the drone+AI is the real hero and I'm just the techy supporting it.
>>
>>50765932
It's a berserker mode, distinct and separate from the option that buffs your fire power.

Greatly enhanced minus slightly reduced actually is exactly much faster. Because much isn't as powerful as a descriptor as greatly.

The Dullahan line doesn't necessarily stand alone. It's an additional benefit, because sensing your own emotions and teleporting to the rest of your body are much less useful than doing so with somebody else.
>>
>>50765986
Drakes have fire powers innately. They don't need the specialization that makes it better to use it. And as the CYOA says, they shouldn't be fighting in melee at all.

Not much over everyone else, not other golems. Also doesn't change that they're designed as tanks. Even a sword would get hit in the face all the time and swing around some giant bullshit.

All indication is that it stands alone. There's nothing in that sentence connecting its effect to the prior sentence.

>I don't know where you're getting the two enemies figure
Two enemies at regular stamina = one enemy at half stamina.

>but you're massively weaker than someone with one specialization no matter what your second may be. The increased sleep and stamina usage are spelled out point blank.
Sleep is a constant. If you need to take a nap in the middle of the battle, you're doing it wrong. Just deactivate while the caravan's moving or something.
And I've gone over the stamina issue. Skirmishers can make do with less stamina. Fast warriors are best at being skirmishers.

>Not if it assumes people would reach the same conclusion I did.
And you just ignored all the stuff I said after. For all the other options, it flat-out says that it makes you tougher, or faster, or stronger. And yet this single option, despite wording that implies otherwise, and explicit description of the same subject later on, needs you to read into it?

>Again, have you ever had any contact with fantasy?
In some games. In others, such as those where living mountains try to step on you, being tougher than the ground underneath you is a better survival strategy. If you just want to dodge, just be an Innocent Succubus.

>Well, again, if melee is as good as ranged at regular speeds, why wouldn't it be at increased speeds?
BECAUSE MELEE REQUIRES YOU TO GET IN RANGE. WHERE PEOPLE A LOT BIGGER THAN YOU TRY TO HIT YOU.

I didn't, but both have been used as "go fast" options. Aquarius in this thread, even.
>>
>>50766021
No, the CYOA suggests you pay attention to your fire powers. It at no point suggests the two are incompatible.

My reading of the Emotional Link is exactly as in-line with the writing as your reading of Sword Golems, and I'm content to leave this part of the argument alone now.
>>
>>50765747
If that were the case, then how do the explosives and such work in that kind on instance and what takes the place of the gunpowder and such?
I might take Natural Weapons too, so I really do want a sort of consensus or at least a solid logic.
>>
>>50766090
I assumed that Natural Weapons would work sort of like food. Eat the item, digest it, understand it, replicate the effects. Eat sword, get better claws. I have no idea how else it would work for a Drake, though, so I was just banking on the innate magical physiology of the dragon theme.

Can. And be worse at it than someone who doesn't need to.

You're trying your hardest to twist every race around into being INFERIOR fast melee. They're better at other things. They're meant to do other things. They're not even all that fast or melee proficient. No matter how hard you warp them, they're suboptimal in this role instead of actually using their specializations properly. Asking for a fast melee character isn't asking for wrongly built races that can do so poorly, it's asking for a race that is specialized for it, that is optimally built for such a role.

>>50766060

And you can still use both at the same time.

I'm also still pretty sure every melee spec'd character is assumed to be pretty fast because, you know, you're supposed to be on the level of the guy using a machine gun as a fucking jet and you've got a sword. There's a spec that specifically caters to speed that you've already shot down, and a couple that do dodge tanking you've also refused.

And he wasn't saying shut down the passive; he was saying shut down you, the golem. As in, you won't be in combat all day long anyway.
>>
>>50766330
Which part are you replying to? If it's the Drake thing, you're not really combining fire and melee well unless you have Imbue.

Nothing in the CYOA states they get an extra speed boost. The aircraft gun guy is probably playing against the spirit, and hours ago I posted my opinion that Fiends just don't have vital organs and/or have skin tough enough that the larger wounds cased by melee weapons are more effective at piercing the skin or damaging flesh.

There are no specs that cater to fast melee. Nobody caters to dodge tanking either, I don't think you ever even addressed that point before.

You might not be in combat all day, but your combat effective time is halved. As a tank, you want to be fighting for as long as possible to keep the enemies distracted and to wear them down.

Fair. Regardless, that doesn't say one way or the other about speed, as opposed to a raw "gains speed" sans 're'.
>Why can't it be this game?
Because there's already options to go fast, and it's a stylistic choice that was not put in when the CYOA was made.

Yes, it's Drake. Because you can still spit fire even if you don't know how to shape it on your weapons all fancy-like.

We can call it sytlistic if you like but
>it is worth noting that melee weapons are on-par with guns despite what you (sic) current knowledge of weapons would have you believe
I feel like the more reasonable way to read that is "some of the magic bullshit at work applies to melee weapons too" rather than "they have a specific resistance bonus against modern weaponry."

Rage Drake. The Dullahan can dodge tank, and I do believe that a 20 foot oni would be pretty fast, unless they're all related to the Hulk and, consequently, can be incredibly strong without getting any faster.

You sleep more, but you also have more energy while awake. Also, you have two areas of focus, so you're more effective at the combat you are there for.

You're going to need to be awake when Fiends attack. Meaning they have to have someone specifically to rush in and alert you whenever they show up and you're asleep, and deal with you fighting sub-optimally from fatigue right at the start. Who the hell wants to take an option that basically thirds their lifespan, anyway?

>Unless they can crush their enemies just by arriving.
Many fiends are very large and this isn't going to help you against large groups at all.

They're not good at anything of the sort. No increased speed or melee specialization at all. Only thing they can be used for is sneaking and staining people's pants.

Oh my fucking god. It's not a god damn MMORPG where somebody has to be designated to take aggro off the squishes you raging, fucking retarded thundercunt. It's a massive speed boost from a less than average base, everyone needs the ability to take a hit the face, and you need to die in a fucking hole.
>>
>>50767012
Honestly those 'knife hands' are probably way duller the average fingernail, which is what chitin is made of, and that chick seems to be beaten badly by stationary objects so she's more likely to break her chitin on you than the otherwayround
>>
>>50767041
And that's exactly what Oni's there for.
>>
>>50767045
>everyone needs the ability to take a hit the face
Not the vast majority of races, apparently.

>>50767055
Oni is shittier than Golem at absolutely fucking everything. They're a worthless race. Aesthetic concerns are secondary, all the races need to provide something unique to a team. Oni has NOTHING.

>Oni is shittier than Golem at absolutely fucking everything.

>>50767041
>There's no way in hell I want to be an ugly, unfeeling stone statue.

That's the point of Oni.
>>
>>50767079
>Aesthetic concerns are secondary
>>
>>50767081
But the Oni's there for mostly aesthetic reasons - being a competent melee fighter not under de facto sensory deprivation is pretty much their shtick.

It's like saying "Denying flight, Harpies bring nothing to the table."
>>
>>50767114
>all the races need to provide something unique to a team
Design perspective. You don't put in an inferior choice just for shallow people. That's a waste of an option. Onis don't do ANYTHING unique. There's not even anything stopping them from being inferior slow tanks (remember that humans are disgustingly pathetic physically) if their specializations had unique powers that other choices didn't do. They'd have a point then at least.

Even something as shitty as Aquarius at least has a niche as a mixed healer/fighter even if it's inferior to just taking a slime.

is it me or is tanith legitimately just unnattractive? shes just SO ugly to me. the rest of the girls are okay but jesus christ tanith looks like a drag queen.
>>
>>50767150
Then don't pick her.
>>
>>50767139
They can carry MUCH bigger guns than Golems, or anybody else.
>>
>>50767179
No you can't. You need strength to carry guns, Onis have inferior strength to Golems. Reminder that their strength is scaled up human strength, and that humans are one of the weakest mammals for their size.
>>
>>50767139
Pretty sure the Oni are scaled up from somebody already superhuman, though, because every option is at least Captain America, and then you pick up extras from there. Be a giant oni and you're at least sixteen Captain Americas, or Antmerica if you will. I think you can fight a golem. And by "think," I'm not giving you an opinion, or an opening to say "I disagree."
>>
>>50767198
Says proportionally stronger than humans, not superhumans, right there in the CYOA.
>>
>>50767211
>Regardless of how you look, you'll get minor superhuman stats, making you as fast and strong and enduring as the best mankind has to offer.
Literally Cap. A man who can casually clear a ten foot chain link fence with a motorcycle slung over his shoulder. Get fucked.
>>
>>50767233
Too bad the oni's description species that THEIR strength is proportional humans strength. Think that overwrites a generic statement.

Also, being 3 meters tall on average? They wouldn't even be able to lift a golem.
>>
>>50767249
It also sets a mother fucking baseline to be addressed in individual entries. And guess what the first race is.
>>
>>50767263
Superhuman. Oni specifies human, not superhuman.
>>
>>50767270
Remember earlier when I asked you not to be offended yet? If we could revisit that and you could feel offended, perhaps the same way that the newfound pounding in my head qualifies your commentary as an offense, that would be great.
>>
>>50767289
That's what happens when the CYOA stresses that none of you are humans anymore then goes on to use human as a scale in one of the options.
>>
>>50767155
what are you talking about anon? i wasn't talking about her in context of the cyoa, im saying the picture itself is unattractive and was wondering if others felt the same.
>>
>>50767320
That's what happens when someone is too autistic and too fucking retarded to adjust their frame of reference for a human to the provided frame of reference for a human because of an adjective.
>>
>>50767337
Superhumans are not humans. You are told repeatedly that none of the races are really humans any longer. That much is inarguable.
>>
>>50767347
You are not human. That much is inarguable.
>>
>>50767249
It actually says their proportional strength is GREATER than humans'.
A nice metric which includes both regular Captain America-tier and the generally assumed greater.
>>
>>50767150
Yeah she's pretty bad. I guess the author needed to ugly her up so that everyone wouldn't just automatically go for the snek waifu.
>>
>>50754432
New thread time?
>>
>>50767353
It says 'proportionally stronger than humans', in relation to their size. So no, it's not as vague as you say. If it was though, it'd be meaningless and we wouldn't know how strong they were at all.
