Does anyone print out their PDFs at places like Staples? Do they give a shit if you're printing a single copy of copyrighted material at all? I've got tons of old AD&D books I'd rather not use anymore because they're falling apart, so I want to get some PDFs printed to use in binders. You can have both visible and hidden... There are some guides on the net on cleaning PDF...
One simple way I sometime use is to load the PDF on my iPad, and screenshot every page, then assemble them back in a new PDF. Should be enough to get rid of most digital watermark I think?

DMs guild is offering many of the old books as print on demand and slowly adding new titles. It might cost about the same to just buy a print on demand copy rather than printing the PDF. When I printed out the 5E basic free rules I could have just ordered another PHB for another 10 bucks over the cost of printing out the PDF.

I used a 24 hour fed ex/kinkos place. Went in at midnight and the guys working there didn't give a shit at all. I had other books on my flash drive just in case but the costs were higher than I expected so I just got the basic free rules printed but the guys told me they didn't care as long as I printed the stuff out at the self serve units and didn't ask them to do it at the counter....basically "Don't ask, Don't tell".

Why are there no good PDFs for 5e?

For example, my Pathfinder PDFs are nicely formatted, fully searchable, and full of art. Meanwhile D&D PDFs are usually just poorly scanned pages whose poor formatting adds so many random spaces to words that ctrl-f becomes useless!

Because Paizo has digital downloads of their pathfinder pdfs for sale while D&D 5e doesn't. That's why we got scanned books. In all honestly the scans aren't as bad as you claim, it could be like dragon magazine for fuck sake.

I mean just look at this gnarly text in the articles. Full zoom doesn't make the text anymore readable in a lot of parts.

Years ago I can remember grabbing some pdf of of /tg/. It was a game where you played as kids, with a class system that included things like bully, nerd, dreamer, and cool guy (or something like that).

For the longest time I thought I was remembering Monsters and Other Childish Things, but I was reading through it earlier and realized it wasn't the same game.

Does anybody know what game I'm talking about? I think maybe it had some kind of dreamland setting or something, maybe with some kind of fey influence?
