What's your favorite RPG that highlights giant robot combat, smar/tg/uys? Mine is Battle Century G, but I'm looking to expand my horizons.

Gonna bump this and ask my own question.
How does Adeptus Evangelion fare for a oneshot?
I'm looking at the pdf's and it seems like i might be better off with a different system for just one session.

>might be better off with a different system
The general consensus seems to be that CthulhuTech is a cool setting that suffers from a bad system -- some say terrible. I've seen it compared to Rifts in that regard.

That doesn't answer my question.

I can only tell you what I've heard -- which is that its system blows. Your comment, "it seems like i might be better off with a different system for just one session" seems to confirm that.
For a one-shot session, perhaps something with a fairly simple system, like Fate? There's a Fate mecha game called "Apotheosis Drive X."
Here's a list of every mecha RPG:

I have a soft spot for Paladium's Robotech if only because it was the second rpg I ever played
Man, Chuck Walton is such a good artist... but damn is Palladium's ruleset awful.

Chuck has some of the best mech designs

He bites sometimes, but he bites from the best, and not too much. So it's cool. He's definitely a top-notch mecha draftsman. He's no Don Figueroa, but then nobody is except Don.
