Google Chrome will display PDFs natively.
fwiw: on Windows machines I like Foxit Reader, on Linux I like Chromium. Depends how much you like bookmarks though, my personal Linux machine is a 2008 netbook with a 600 pixel tall screen (hey, it works for what I need it to do) so your mileage as always may vary.
