So the universe is very free-form in that nothing is set in stone except some organizations.

Custom mechs are very much a thing, especially for merc groups, so I think you'll enjoy it

What adaptations will you use for the system? I want a design with heavy armor, big guns and not a lot of mobility or melee ability. Character wise, lots of points in ranged skills + battlefield control skills. Could this be a viable build?

Funny, that's pretty much the complete opposite of what I planned on going for.

I'm planning on using something with less armor or ranged armaments, focusing on mobility and melee.
