Hey guys. I've had an idea for a CYOA. Not sure when I'll be able to get on with making it but first I'd like to hear some opinions. So, I'd call it an HFY CYOA. I am thinking to make it a point buy with positive and negative choices that would be required to be 0 by the end of the generation. It would consist of two huge blocks: setting generator and humanity customizer. In the first one choices would be on some in- universe laws of nature like possible FTL methods with types of said methods(wormholes might vary in how to make them and if they need to be tugged to the system first, for example), Fermi paradox solution(s) for this specific setting(Haven't searched hard enough, filters before sentience, filters after sentience, berserker Von-Neumann probes, a bunch of other choices or any mix of the above), what aliens might exist(aliens that are like humans with forehead ridges, similar to Earth lifeforms, carbon only or full alien with alternative chemistries and stuff), what best power generation technology is available(fizzion->fusion->one of many matter- energy conversion methods->zero point energy and stuff like that), best reaction drives possible, yes/no on reactionless drive existence as well as how hard they are to get(and the same for stuff like self replicating robots, nanomachines, AI, astroengineering and some other stuff), opinion of most races on some technologies, what races there are and so on. It would be 'sliders' on how docsmithian you want it to be and how much realism you want to shove into it. I will probably dig concepts heavily from places like Orion's arm, Stellaris and a huge amount of other places I know of. Humanity customization would be choosing how humans are different from everyone else. If we are seen as cute or ugly or horrifying, if we are feeble or ridiculously mighty, if our weapons are better or worse due to being radically different, too advanced or outdated, if we lack some crucial technology for a while or forever and so on.

When they are released, days or aeons later, they remarkably sane though very changed, resulting in a much more motherly and caring outlook.
This shit ain't even my fetish (or, wasn't) but it seemed like a pretty interesting and surprisingly arousing outcome from some of the choices presented in the CYOA.

Well I updated this based on info and suggestions. I dropped Kleptozzological, Multitudinous, and Throne Shadow, and added Nurturing, Dependent, Quasicosmic, and Thrall Horde. And I had Oviposition costing me a Favor instead of giving me one so I had one more point to spend, so I used that for Synergism which costs a point now. So now I have better stats and more magic potential.

Depends on how you go about it.

A lot of people just freeform it and throw as much information as they can, in which case the synergy is entirely dependent on the skill of the writer to make it interesting and hope it flows well, not many can pull this off without prior experience, but when done well it can refreshing.

The second way, more common and more likely to be shit is to use bullet points to detail vital information with positives negatives and such denoted by their equivalent symbol.

I like to use a mix between the two above system by defining a set criteria of things that need to be mentioned. This mostly depends on the cyoa but a regular waifu cyoa can be divided into things like Lifestyle, Personality, Sex, Income, etc and so on.

You then take these set criteria an apply them to each waifu, give enough detail to feed the reader's imagination but not enough to hinder him.

Again for the most part the quality depends on how well you can manage the english language and what experience you got writing. Sometimes I'll write something, leave it as it is for a few days and then revisit it so I can get a feel for how a stranger will perceive the writing and not as a biased author with an inflated ego.

I really like the upgrades but I would like to go with multiples and it is very expensive to upgrade each one. Of course this issue has always been that if you have a powergaming super pervert (like me) the challenge is lost for them while on the other hand a more vanilla person feels very constrained. Eldritch magical power is pretty dope so I have enjoyed this one too. You're right you got to pay for things with your fetishes in SL and that is essentially what I am suggesting here. I had an example in mind. The choice of saving Carley or Dougin Telltale's TWD. Regardless of the choice made, the other will still die. Of course, the circumstances of their deaths are pretty retarded, but why bother? Still, just because you save them once doesn't mean they're gonna live forever, and they might get into a similar situation. The thing is, they die in the very next episode (as far as I can remember). In this example, there is no choice, as they both die. This is what I mean by an illusion of choice.

Though I suppose it was a pretty bad example in the first place.

Like I included the perfect disguise option because I know girls that sometimes just wish that they could disappear for a day because they're having a rough time and don't want to be bothered by anyone. I included the perfect cell phone because, though arguably you could say this notion is very biased, I know that girls use their cellphones (at least in a more noticeable way) than guys.I know at the least that my sister years ago was always asking to stop the car so that she could take a pretty picture of a landscape or something. At some points a lack of choice can tell you a lot about the setting, or the position you're in. Let's take the V:tM computer game for example: If you refuse the orders of the prince, he will just force you. Your choices then are literally:

1. I will go to the Elizabeth Dane.
2. I will go to the Elizabeth Dane.
3. I will go to the Elizabeth Dane.

That can be interesting as a piece of storytelling.

An entire game that is nothing but that is not a game. It's a novel.
A CYOA without the C is not a CYOA, and it is not the A of anyone but the author.
