So I recently got interested in D&D and other tabletop games of the sort, and a friend of mine who is passionate about it suggested we'd do a 1-on-1 session where he's the DM and I'm the player. He'd like to do an quasi-"avatar" journey/adventure where my character needs to travel about the world to learn how to master something that will make me a full-fledged "Avatar".
I'm on-board with this idea, but I feel like I'd want to stay clear of bending elements, so I come to you fa/tg/uys to see if you have any suggestions what my reincarnated avatar character could have for some sort of skills to learn and master as he travels about, similar to the 4 elements for Avatar Aang?
He didn't mention which edition or anything, and told me I could come up with something and we'll discuss it later to try and incorporate it. Any suggestions?
Nothing? You're as creatively bankrupt as me? That's a bummer.
If only there were a monk class that could manipulate the elements...

If you're doing 3.X-5, try:
Super sorcerer with many bloodlines meets elder creatures of the world to maintain balance between them and their respective forces.
Wizard needs to stop super spell, can only do so by mastering each of the magic schools from ancient wizards/places of power/forgotten tomes.
Cleric of an entire pantheon picking up domains. Has to pass a trial from each god to be deemed worthy of uniting their faiths against the prophet of a dark god.
Bard just needs to fuck all the bitches to finish his bucket list.

I like these a lot. I'll suggest them to my friend and we'll see where it goes from there. Thanks a bunch!
