On related note: reminds me of one "drunken sailor" stanzas in polish about "bloody bronka", a port whore that cuts off sailor dicks in more or less this way.
Does this ccount as non-metal?

No, it's basically a giant glorified slighshot. Do you need a shaft with one of those?
>>50523534
A slingshot has the frame bent so that it stays out of the plane that the rubber band moves in where the projectile passes.
This bow, like normal bows, does not. The bowstave and string all sticking to the same plane throughout their motions. And you're not drawing it sideways either, those flat limbs on the bow bend in one direction, trying to bend them in another will just tear it to splinters.
Something strange is going on for this to work.

This right here is a whales penis bone - 21" of compacted bone and cartilage...
Imagine the ignominy of being beaten to death with a whale cock? All the other warrior spirits would laugh at you for eternity.

Well, for small game and birds, or providing harrying fire you can colour me impressed. I saw a crossbow version in a museum in Europe years ago, but obviously the mechanism was assmbled to allow for clear movement of the pellet, but this just looks like a knack as much as anything. Clever.

I'm from the region where nice people like Charruas and Minuanos used things like pic. It worked like this:
If you're running on foot, they used the two-ball bolas on your legs. It was for bipeds.
If you are riding a horse, they could use the three-ball bolas on its legs, just like when they hunted cabyparas.
If they didn't like you, they used the one-ball version to bash your head open. It was pretty much a paleolithic flail. Some versions even had carved spikes.

Nowhere near I lived, the Ming Dinasty made a all-wood repeating crossbow.
Used to shoot ten small fletched bolts in quick sucession, one shouldn't think of real repeating crossbows as medieval uzis. They are more comparable to shotguns, a quick burst of small projectiles, some of which will surely hit.
One would fire from the hip in the general direction of the enemy, and the bolts were often posioned because they were hardly enough to kill someone on their won.
