For fun, let's compare the price to Forge World for the minis alone.
6 survivors vs 6 Daemonsmiths 44 quid
1 Tyrant (50mm base) vs Morngul 36 quid
1 Dragon King vs Lord of Change 160 quid
240 quid for rough seconds-of-searching similars. To be generous to forgeworld accounting for their gouging and the fact they use resin, lets cut that in half: 120 gbp. At current rates that's $150 usd -- the same as the whole Dragon King expansion at retail, which has the accounted for plastic along with more plastic parts for conversions/weapon swaps, a shitton of cards, a rulebook with full page art, and some tiles.

And I think that I was being excessively generous by halving the FW comparison. Something tells me that GW Plastics would stack up worse than FW Resin at half off.

"Production" is a term that spans from first having an idea, to being fully assembled and ready to ship. Fucking OBVIOUSLY it's all in production. So, rules question for you guys:

On page 77 under "Survival Action Limitations" the rulebook states:
>"An attacking survivor cannot perform survival actions (including dodge)."

This seems pretty cut and dry, but there's two qualms I have with it. The first is, after having watched three different early game playthroughs in three different sources with ostensibly experienced players not a single one of them followed this rule. Every single one of those had people using Dodge to avoid hits on hit location reactions. Except, of course, during Clever Ploy. And that's the second thing -- Clever Ploy explicitly states that the target is doomed and can't spend survival, but according to this rule they would not be able to anyways and that's completely superfluous information.

Basically, is literally everyone who tries to show the game off playing it wrong and that card also dumb, or did this rule get changed somewhere?

Does a survivor gain a point of weapon proficiency on the hunt that they choose a proficiency if they had that weapon and inflicted a wound with it?

Page 43 says,

According to the Hunt rewards, you gain Hunt XP first, which would give you your weapon proficiency. Then, you gain weapon proficiency if eligible -- and you would be eligible if you had that weapon during the hunt and inflicted a wound with it.

I ask mainly because the playthroughs I've watched have stated that you do not get a point of proficiency in this situation, but I don't see that panning out given the rulebook.

Unless you reached Age mid-battle and preformed a wound with your choice weapon, you do not get the weapon proficiency point.

This is because you have to already have Weapon Proficiency before you can earn credit towards it. If earning Age in the Aftermath, you have done zero wounds with your chosen weapon since you picked it.

The Lonely Tree, while a gorgeous model is very situational in gameplay, so I'd reduce priority a little bit.

The Gorm is a 2nd huntable monster available at Year 1, which also gives nice defensively specced gear.
It does make the first part of the game a little harder thanks to Gorm Climate, which triggers automatically.

My group homebrews a GOOD END with certain conditions.

Your master katana wielder returns to aid the fight, the young are occupied with the 25 innovations and 10 locations enough that the settlers survive enough to allow you to fight two more level 1 sunstalkers with your sun god survivor. Afterwards, you first survivor with burning ambition leads the settlement in building a tower to hoist up the sun's corpse, replacing it in the sky.
