>We were somewhere around Barstarr-4, on the edge of the sector, when the chems began to take hold. I remember saying something like:
>"I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should fly."
>Suddenly, there was a terrible beeping all around us, and the sensors picked up what looked like huge bats, all swooping and swerving and diving around the ship, and a voice was screaming:
>"Holy Space Jesus. What are these goddamn aliens?"
Let's have ourselves a brainstorming jam session for the kind of wild, reckless, synesthesiac adventures you'd find in a "gonzo sci-fi" game.
this is fucking retarded

No you
I feel like you're making a mistake whenever you are describing anything as "gonzo".

ugh... le cringe is strong here
epic fail
Gonzo inherently carries a connotation of the alien and bizarre. Even the word is strange in this way.
The thing with gonzo is you need some sort of grounding element otherwise it only becomes absurd without context.
I've also found it more effective to take something silky and treat it seriously than trying to take something serious and make it silly.
