I was in a gaming group that was majority female for a while. 3 chicks, 2 dudes (me and the GM).

No drama. No BS. It was an awesome Shadowrun game.
Eventually people moved away/started working more and our schedules drifted so we all sort of stopped playing, but we stay in contact.

My regular group usually includes 1-2 female players now too.
I really have no idea where this stereotype that "girls cause trouble at the gaming table" thing comes from.

The absolute worst I've had is some chicks trying it out because their boyfriends were into it, deciding they didn't like it much and stopping. Also, a tendency to be less rules-savvy than male players, but frankly only about half of my male players study the rulebook anyway so I don't really care.

I've played with plenty of women, and majority of my experiences were ranging from "meh" to positive. However, there's that ONE bitch.

I've pitied her at first, but then I've slowly started realizing that she's often fishing for attention. There were a few times, for example, when she was told to either calm down or turn off the mic, so we won't have to hear her crying. She turned it off... Only to turn it on again five seconds later. She didn't have anything to say - she was simply loudly sobbing for us to hear.
The last straw was when her latest episode chased off the actually good female rookie, who basically said "I've wanted a gaming group, not a support group". That was the moment when the majority of us decided that we aren't obligated to put up with this shit either, and we would rather have the rookie back.

My personal experience is that rules savvy players tend to cause more problems than the non-rules savvy, so personally I don't really find this a problem.

As about That Girls. I've played with about 4 girls in my 8 years as a DM, compare with 15 guys (19 players in 8 years, means I swap out like 1,5 players every year or so? Currently I have two groups of 4) and I've only had one girl (compare with two guys that were being dramatic) that was dramatic about something in game. The others weren't dramatic at all, but a flaw that I see a hell of a lot more with girls than guys is this: system mastery.

Girls have pretty bad system mastery. It's like they don't even care about knowing the rules. I sit down with them and help create their characters and let them go free as players, but they never learn and consequently whine when their character progression goes to shit or the combat goes all to fuck

I've also experienced out of game drama in the form of "the dm's a terrible person and we as a group want to disown him" and I didn't know the DM at the time very well and I thought his homebrew system was shit, so I went along with it.

Girls are still rare enough in this hobby that there's bound to be very few That Girl stories to share. The few girls I've played with have actually been a lot more disciplined, both in terms of rule-savvyness and good behaviour, probably because they try harder, as to not be flagged with the attributes typically thrown around by neckbeards.

It's probably true that most female players would be less rules-savvy than guys, but thats because they're usually newbies. I haven't personally experienced it, but my players are all used to the game.

I just had to have a 1 on 1 dressing down of a player in my game about this shit.

I haven't really had a "That Girl" in any of the games I've played in, unless you count a pre-op mtf tranny. The closest I've had is a landwhale who drew dicks on every goddamn paper she could find, but was otherwise a decent player.

But for a That Girl, I recently got around to watching Hyper RPG's Battletech campaign, and everything out of Divas' mouth makes me cringe something fierce. She's a highschool lolrandumb type that "squee"s over glitter and "The shinies", but trapped in a 30-somethings' body.

In trying to find what her name was, I found out that her character dies and she leaves the game. Fucking yes but I wish I'd had spoilers.

I've had very few girls at my table, but they've always behaved well. They generally weren't all that good (because they were pushed into trying roleplaying by their bfs rather than out of personal interest), but they didn't make trouble.
That said, I have a couple players who are outright banned from playing when there's a girl in the group, because they can't behave. They flirt and whiteknight outrageously both in and out of character. Fuck those horny arseholes.

My sister happens to be in my Group when she was in college her That Girl was strong.

She played a Rouge, 18 dex, 17 Cha, everything else was a dump stat. Maxed Slight of Hand, Maxed Pick Pocket. Everything else was filler.

Rooms would be looted by the time the other two girls finished the combat. Both turned to profession skills to make money (both Poor as Fuck while rouge only acted it but secretly bought All the magic items she needed) the other two girls turned to Profession: Prostitue to make money. The Sorcereess was fine and seemed to almost get off on this, the Druid who was a lush to begin with drank twice as much.

After games on our way home from college she would laugh about how she forced the other two characters into prostitution while she lives like a queen. Even considered becoming their pimp.

Should mention. My sister was constantly picked on by other girls in middle and high school, and she grew out of this phase after a few years of me DMing for her and her friends.

My campaign had a female player once. She was my ex-girlfriend. We're still good friends even after we broke up.

Her character was a dhampir wizard who had an unnatural obsession with dirt. She had a jacket with hundreds of pockets, each one had some sort of useless nick-nack or some type of dirt.

Whenever she played, she would spend all of the time talking to the other players and would never focus on the game. We basically had to bark orders at her to get her to use her magic. The GM was surprisingly patient with her, but she got on my nerves almost all the time.

Eventually she grew bored with the game, so she gave her character to the GM and he made the main bad guy take control of her and sent her after us. I decided to be a nice person and go for a nonlethal blow to knock her character unconscious. We sent her character back home after that and never saw her again.

How do I forget her, /tg/?

Well, the one girl in our group totally tries to out-ranger me and keeps finding out where the hell we are when lost.
Luckily she doesn't have as good trap finding skills.
AND she kept getting distracted by baseball during the summer.

The other female player who is some kind of druid and the party's only source of healing also takes into consideration if her character likes the other character (or they like her) when doling out healing like it's some sort of damned role-playing game.
She also has a large bear cub that did more damage in our last fight than (her IRL husband) our half-orc fighter. (he also fell in a pit he designed to catch enemies and made some of the worst rolls I've seen. (and I rolled 3 o1's our first session)

I have mostly had positive experiences with women in my groups but here are a few negatives:

On the one hand, I've played with a few she-grognards who were generally horrible people.

On the other hand, my younger sister played a Black Templar Assault Marine in my last Deathwatch campaign and was probably the best roleplayer in the group. At the end of the campaign, her character sacrificed his life to kill a Hive Tyrant by slam-dunking a melta bomb into its mouth, shattering the Hive Mind's link to the swarm in the process.

Of the little amount of game I played at my lgs, there was only one time when a girl was fairly weird and obnoxious but not to the point of ruining the game

Clanbooks work great for the specific scenario where the entire party is of the same Clan and you want more variety between the individuals.

Most I've played with are extremely casual and not all that into the game itself (probably more there to hang with the people involved) and tend to not understand the rule or even bother learning them, having to constantly be reminded how to make a simple roll, with one exception who was arguably one of my best player for a specific campaign and was very involved in the game and generally a good sport at the table, never causing any trouble.

I've played with females twice. One was more or less a puppet for another player, and looking at the two was like staring in to a weird coercive, abusive relationship.

The second was a pretty okay player, though she too a sort of strange over-liking to my character.

I played with one in a campaign I was invited to by the GM. She introduced herself as a chess genius and her character was a deviant art tier tiefling who killed her father or something.
She got really mad at me when my LG character didn't allow her to murder some prisoners. The DM was cool, but I left the group because they were too murderhobo for me.

Also I try to avoid player's gfs(due to past bad experiences), but this time a friend brought his gf to my campaign and she's really dedicated. She writes down almost everything they encounter and roleplays pretty good for a newbie. Even more importantly, she brought other great players I didn't know to the table and basically saved the campaign because most of the original players couldn't make time.
