Rooms? You don't just have rooms in a pocket dimension you have biomes and geographical features.
Things like a full stocked lake complete with resident mermaids, botanical gardens that are closer forests and an entire mountain range to store your various metals.

Ever play one of the Metroidvania Csstlevanias? Heck the Metroid games would be a good example of how to assemble a pocket dimension.
A pocket dimension needs to feel like an entering a new world rather than just being cave network or tower.
You can still have "rooms" but the way those rooms are should make the players feel like they are in another world.
>You open the door to find a pleasant summers day on a lakeshore to your right about 200 feet away you see a lone door standing.
> Upon opening the door you are blasted by a wave a humid air. Once you recover, you realize your vision is limited to about on 20 feet by the dense jungle vegetation.
>After cutting through the vegetation you find your way to another door. Opening it reveals you to be high atop a mountain. A trial winds to the west.
now i kind of want a vidya game where you are the magical housekeeper of a wizards miniverse, having to build and manage a comfy complex with greenhouses, experimental laboratories, luxurious beds and harems and whatever crazy shit you could come up with
