So folks

How do you all feel about a campaign set in Georgia, immediately after the civil war ends and as reconstruction is going on. The game wouldnt be the most realistic- you would be top secret members of the Pinkertons and go on missions investigating super weird stuff, including conspiracies, secret fraternities, and ghosts. As well, it'd be relatively high power, with Path of War, advanced firearms, and pseudo-gestalt on the table (gestalt where one class advances slower than the other, which is a little more manageable IMO)

Just as a spitball, character creation parameters would be as such: 25 pb, humans and half-humans/outsider races only (only if they have an ART that allows them to count as humans), Path of War and Spheres of Power archetypes only (though with some adjustments), occult classes and content highly encouraged

Plus, you could easily justify the different races as being specific morphologies of the human type, with the basic "human" race simply being Joe Average while the other races (Half-Elves, half-orcs, etc.) be more specific physiologies. I can justify it as the various races simply being different types of humans. Humans with skin conditions! Humans with large busts! Humans with pointy teeth! They can even be black, or white, or Asian or Hispanic too, completely different from mechanically what their race is. Point is, I'd want to avoid simply saying "humans only" and let players have some more choice instead. Got me?

Sorry about the hold-up, anon, I've just been a bit busy with this and that along with that general fuzzy brain you get when something stressful's just on the horizon.

I'm really settling on Warder (ZS/OD) | Barbarian, though! The overlap is disgusting but you know what? I don't mind, the guy's a vicious animal and Rage is the only thing that really does a good job expressing it.

However, I'm kind of niggling over what archetype I want to put for Barbarian; Armored Hulk works, but Invulnerable Rager is really working it right now - I know I know, that's kinda the go-to archetype, but the archetype simultaneously gives him even more sticking power (emphasizing his "why won't you just fucking die?" quality his enemies will love) as well as explain the DR as his health potion addiction gave his flesh minor regenerative qualities.

Technically there IS Oppressive Boredom which I think is pretty close, but I think it's a bit of a high level spell so I don't know how that will do for your character creation.

If you're willing to play a psionic you also have the option to go with the Demoralize spell, which "fill[s] your enemies with self-doubt. Any enemy in the area that fails its save becomes shaken for the duration of the power".

I'm sure there are other things you can do, if you're willing to go outside the realm of magic I'm pretty sure you can flavor Intimidate rolls as making the opponent sad and depressed as opposed to feared.

As for that character? She's... Really, she's just a bit of a generic "in it for the money" merc and an excuse to play an empiricist investigator. Tiefling was just an incidental "haven't played one yet", and Aerial Wings was put at a solid "maybe". GM fiddled with feat rules some, so she's running around Numeria with an adamantine rapier+dagger fucking up robots and getting grappled by fucking everything holy shit. She's irritable, has problems with personal space, makes terrible life choices, and is probably addicted to her mutagen. She developed a kind of twisted fixation on proving that the machine god in book 2 of iron gods is a fake, but that's kind of faded into the background. I guess she's also getting attached to the half-orc ranger girl, who keeps treating the tiefling like a security blanket.

It won't be until many years later when you sit alone, in your own tower. A bow hangs over your desk, even though you cannot wield it. The scent of a dark lager fills the room, even though you do not drink. A ring of a royal crest of a family long forgotten sits on your thumb, one size too big. Then you get a knock on your door.

I am thinking of making a skald/fighter/spherewalker(maybe) and I'd like to hear some thoughts on the build.

Main idea here is to try to circumvent the lack of bonus feats and straight damage from the said feats with the large amount of free enhancements from the spell warrior archetype and the free returning from the second level of spherewalker, but I am still on the edge about all the subpar required feats and if getting free returning and a mediocre weapon, starkinfe, is worth wasting my normal feats on. I am going to take 2 lore warden levels from fighter either way for combat feats and a free combat expertise. I was going for a punchy skald no matter what and spherewalker would be more flavor oriented for the char than the goal of the build.

I want to try and create pic related. I got the semblance of character the revolves around this 3pp feat.

To resemble more of the pic, for race I have either Gnoll or Hobgoblin. But if I want to get ahead in feats Human is good also.

Should I go with vanilla fighter? an archetype that focuses on shields? another class? Any other build advice would be appreciated.

But this build depends on this 3pp feat and my GM is prone to not allowing 3pp stuff. Is this feat overpowered? If not, can you guys also help articulate some good discussion points to try and convince him?

That feat is open. You should try instead going twf with lightshields and high dex build. With shield master you are going to be twf without penalties anyhow and get both of them spiked. And you might want to be just vanilla or any archetype that doesn't effect bonus feats or weapon training as to get the close group bonuses

I would think it is somewhat balanced because it is a money sink to make them somewhat combat effective in the end game. Off hand would be light spiked shield of bashing +1 and main hand would be heavy spiked shield of bashing +X

But the tactic I wold like to do is just be a bully. Shield bash, get free bull rush to push back, 5 foot step, hit again for free bull rush attack. SUMO SHIELD MAN!

The original concept was for her to be a vessel for souls to reincarnate through via childbirth. Hence why spirits always hung around her. Granted this fucks with Golarion cosmology something fierce as reincarnation in that sense does not exist as far as I'm aware, only "resurrection" with drawback sort of spell.

I think the OPness might come in when you combine it with Shield Master? Then again, because of the Two shield fighting combat, you can only use up to +1 shield enhancement for your off hand. In terms of a two weapon fighter, you might be more tanky, but you won't do as much damage. You are spending a lot of feats and money to do damage late game. So this build would not come online until much later. Early game you are just tanky with little damage.

But that is with going for both shields can be used for attacking. If you want you could go off hand tower shield +1 and heavy spiked shield of bashing +X and be a sword and board type guy. If you go this more tanky route, you waste two weapon fighting feat, and shield master won't work with your heavy shield cause your other hand needs to be a weapon and tower shields can't bash.
