I have a ranger character to whom I was thinking of picking up a druid level, both for in-universe reasons and for certain mechanical conveniences. My DM, however, doesn't quite think there is the IC basis for it. I argue that he's enough of a nature guy, with some devotion to earth and how that stuff works, to take a single level: after all, by limiting it to a simple dip, wouldn't it mean he's not going to delve all that deeply into their mysteries and secrets, and simply keep himself at mostly on the basic level?

The DM's counterargument brings up the Druidic language, a bonus language every druid gets on the first level. It's this super-secret hidden cult tongue that can never ever be taught to outsiders, so why would some single-level druid-esque sympathizer ever learn it?

Is he right, or am I? How to solve the problem if I were still to wish to take the druid level, or would I be better off not to?

Hello, I'm new to pathfinder.

What are ways to full attack after moving?

I was browsing stuff and thinking of doing something with pummeling style + charge but then read it got nerfed to fuck (besides the crit thing, no way to get it before level 8).

Short answer: There are none. By rules as written, movement always takes at least half your turn, meaning you can only attack once afterwards.

There are magic items and other weird shit that circumvent this, however. Quick Runner's Shirt comes to mind.

Throwing all themes aside, it seems to me that the most important mechanic for a melee character is a gap closer that lets them explode or otherwise neutralize whatever target they go for. I suppose full attacking is the path to exploding the target.

What books do you have access to? PoW is nice cause you can move -> Strike and get more damage out of just a standard attack plus some nifty effects usually.

But other than that, martials kinda suck unless you can get a reliable pounce or are playing an archer, but neither are really fun.

A thought occurred to me, a small, terrible thought. Spheres has the Transformation feat, correct? This lets you pick any form talent to let the taker of the feat assume that form at-will, with no duration limit. For PCs this is just a gateway to shit like Hybrid and Improved, since otherwise it's pretty limited... But what about familiars and animal companions? Can I have my Raven familiar trade out its initial Skill Focus or Weapon Finesse for the ability to turn into a handy little assistant with this? If an animal companion takes Transformation and picks the Anthropomorphic Animal form, do they only get the 6 Intelligence while in their humanoid form?

Gentlemen, I need ideas. Ideas involving METAL.
Working on an Initiating Skald archetype, themed off of Heavy Metal, and I'm putting in options to have bonuses based off of different genres of Metal.

About halfway into this project, I realized I knew very little about the different metal genres, since I mostly listen to Power, Classic, and occasionally some Prog. So I need help getting ideas for different bonuses and gameplay niches for each genre to provide.

So far these are the genres I'm working with

Each genre will get a basic set of abilities at 1st level (replacing Bardic Knowledge) and a more powerful set at 7th (replacing Lore Master), with each set having a passive ability, and an ability that triggers when you perform your Raging Song. Each set will also be named off of a particular band or song in their respective genre.

Currently, I've been having a hard time choosing abilities that best represent the genres. I've got a few ideas for names of abilities, and a few of the sets (like the 1st level set for Black and Speed) are done, but currently I think I may have bitten off more than I could chew, and need some help here.

I actually hold Shadowrun as a big reason for my Eb fandom, it's a sensible and varied setting without "fantasy niggers" that are supposed to be walking xp bags, "because ebul". So, I decided to do this for game as a "how the country defends itself from the fact there are walking human weapons around". Any town you enter of reasonable size, population bigger than 150, will have two gifts from the capital. These are a sending stone and an animated object construct with construct eyes. If the town gets into a situation that they can't handle they're supposed to take the sending stone and shoot off a message to the capital with as much details as they have.

In the capital there is essentially an office where the country has gathered every person of high level they have. They have people who sit around waiting for messages to pop into the sending stone. When one does they scry that town's animated object, who runs around to try and find out what caused the message to be sent. If they find whoever it is they teleport an extermination squad in, otherwise they teleport in an investigation squad.

An extermination squad consists of the following:

These are just some class capable of teleportation, they also are normally a counterspeller
>Four group trained martials
Team work feats out the ass.
>A support/battlefield control specalist
A cleric/oracle/alchemist/etc.

These six go in and attempt to apprehend whoever caused the disturbance. Failing that they kill them.

Their range, due to CL increasing magic items, is approximately 1500 mile radius around the capital.

In addition, if the first extermination squad goes down they don't send another immediately. Instead they teleport in a construct with a handful of delayed blast fireballs.

Then they send in 3 more squads with heavy lifter constructs and other equipment.

There are 15 squads like this in the capital. The highest level individual is level 15 while most are between level 8 and 12. These are people who have been gathered and bought by the capital, they're willing to pay a lot for such individuals.

To normal folks they're generally referred to as the Wicker Men.

So my party doesn't know yet, but soon they will fight the Oozemancer, a hapless peasant who managed to get an artifact that allows him to summon unlimited Oozes and gave him Wizard levels. Two problems.
First off, not all people in the party are properly equipped to fight Oozes. There is one Alchemist relying mostly on Natural Weapons and Sneak Attacks, and there's a Fighter who specialized in Intimidate.
Second problem, I want to some higher CR Oozes at them than they can handle.
To fix both problems, I'm planning on handing out some magical items. I know of Deliquescent Gloves for the Alchemist, but I am wondering what to give to the others. Aside from the Intimidate-Fighter there's a typical archer and cleric.
Anybody know of some items more unique than just "A bow, with Fire-damage"?

I've seen stuff like that as well over the years in various fashion. What people forget that leads to this is that the settings are generally not written with the concept of people that powerful ever CARING.

Consider the 3-5th level caster. He's literally already set for life; able to make and upkeep a home with a banquet every day, literally have servants (invisible or otherwise) and can basically already retreat from the world, wanting for nothing but getting anything he does with a snap of his fingers. Gold? Women? more power? He can literally conjure it up.

Even a mid-level martial is already in a position where she could not only wipe out a given town solo in a day, but *whatever* her interests can likely fulfill them with ease; rare is the kingdom that wouldn't want her at the head of their armies, the mercenary corporation that wouldn't want her commanding some of their best, or the dragon that wouldn't want to ride her as a mount.

When some level 6 wizard decides he's going to become the ruler of the town, that's a real rarity right there. Enough that other low level adventurers are gonna get involved; we've all been through taking down the also-low-level villain.

So while it's not quite like Exalted where the setting basically goes "you play the first or one of the very earliest groups to have gotten their exaltations back as the solars begin returning", There's this "it's not that common" vibe to it. If a PC bothers, he's one of the exceptions; most just assume that as they reach mid-high levels they keep going beyond this plane into even more dangerous locales, where they're knee-deep in demon dead rather than knee-deep in the human dead on a station.

Besides; even when a high level character takes a country over; chances are he'll be bored within months and start leaving it to the new dynasty; effectively there was nothing but a short royal vacation or usurpation (happens ALL the time with or without 'adventurers').
