He's very intelligent, but lazy, and doesn't like the fact everyone else is so hung up about being active. So, he started trying to wreck the main active guy, the super hero.

As time went on, and the citizens of Lazy Town never figured out that he hated them, they tried befriending him and it worked. So, he started as a real villain that everyone treated as a joke, but he found he liked it so he started treating it as an excuse to hang out with them. His schemes make him the second most active member of the town.
>>

Don't forget trap making and laying, not sure whether to include his ability to sing since pretty much everyone in the show can do it decently to the point it may not be canon.

Where did all these lazytown memes come from?
>>
>>50382832
He's smart but lazy. Heavily inspired by the Grinch, IE he outwardly hates and loathes the people around him but deep down only wants to be accepted and liked by them. He prefers peace and quiet and sees them becoming active as detrimental to it.

Power-wise he can teleport, shapeshift, don disguises, and create gadgets and inventions to help him fight Sportacus, his rival. He's deceptive and sneaky.

Sportacus might have a medical condition that his constant physical activity keeps in check. He is certainly the most active person in town capable of travel exclusively by back flipping if he chooses. He seems to choose that from time to time too. Rob on the other hand actually gets tired setting things up and has to rest. Sportacus in every waking moment is attempting physical activity and trying to make it more physical while Rob just puts in 8 hours with frequent breaks.

Odd, I always viewed it as being mostly the other way around; good episodes being ones where gem war stuff actually happens and bad ones being when Sadie and Lars continue to not sort their shitty relationship out
>>
>>50388887
All of the gems are shit, not all of the humans are shit.
Sadie and Lars are 3/10 characters, Connie is okay, but Greg and Andy are so far the best characters.

Any episode with more than a tangential focus on the purple one is automatically 0/10.
>>
>>50388312
GM imagination aside, because they tend to either become NPC allies or get mowed down by the PCs.
>>
>>50388960
The purple one is completely insufferable. I hate the character archetype, but more importantly her laugh makes me want to punch her voice actress.
>>
>>50388887
I don't particularly like any of the gems at this point but I don't hate them like some folks either. Personally I like the Gem War episodes because that's when whacky gem tech comes into play most.

>>50388960
Steven himself shit or no, or does he fall under "gems"? I've skimmed all the seasons so I don't think I've payed as much attention to him as some.

I thought Lapis was decent until they dragged on her gloom and doom shtick for way too long. For what it's worth, I liked all the cute moments with Steven.
>>
>>50389000
Personally it's Rose I find the most unbearable. Yeah, yeah-I know it's a literal character arc showing she wasn't as pristine as presented-but her being put on that pedestral in the first place when she's sanctimonius as fuck gets my goat

>>
>>50391314
I worded >>50391283 kind of wrong
I meant handle it on his own, he needs the meds after all.
>>
>>50389229
Agreed. I like the way Steven is built.

His greatest strength is that he's very empathetic. This could've gone horribly wrong and he could've been an absolute Mary Sue.

Instead they actually took a very sensible route. Steven simply cares too much. We see him spend time with Onion, even though at the start he obviously didn't enjoy hanging out with the little shit, who is obviously a champion of Chaos Undivided

Better yet, we see that his Charisma is not the end all be all with Jasper, who hates him right up until the end. Later, we also see a display a weakness common to highly empathetic individuals: He cares too much. Jasper did everything to herself, yet, because Steven couldn't make friends with her, as he has in the past, he blames himself, even when he really has no reason to, to the point where he's putting himself and others in danger because of it.

Sure, SU is a little touchy-feely, but honestly, I quite enjoy it.

well, if you faggots want to see him recover, you can Stefan's gofundme to help him with his cancer. that is, if you feel generous enough.

obviously this should be more of a /tv/ effort to help him, but as anonymous, we can help, right?

i mean, im poor and i wish i could donate, but im literally counting pennies at the moment but once i get more money i'll donate to him.

why would I give the man money for his cancer? because after reading his bare bones Wikipedia article about him, he's a classically trained actor and does theater, he's got a foundation to deal with bullying in schools and he was essentially the reason why kids watched Lazy Town in the first place.

let's admit it, people were far more interested in the villain than the hero because of how interesting his role was

Well, not the *entire* rest of the show...
>>
>>50388279
I don't really watch it, but I have seen a few episodes.

The show is about 50% entertaining and 50% trash. The bits with Robbie Rotten are actually pretty funny, sort of like a slapstick Looney Tunes sketch, while the scenes with any other character are about as entertaining as staring at drywall for ten or twenty minutes.

It's worth watching if you're interested, but after seeing three or four episodes, I have no real interest in watching any more.
>>
>>50388312
It's actually pretty hard to have recurring enemies, especially comedic ones.

If you have an enemies show up, normally the way players intend to deal with it is by shoving a sword through their throat, and if you consistently allow a villain to get away, it can start to feel frustrating to fight against them.

Comedic enemies are kind of similar in how difficult they are to portray. If you make them too much of a threat, then they're killed before they become a serious issue, if you make them too weak, the players will often not bother dealing with them or not take them seriously.

The only reason Robbie Rotten works is because he's for a family oriented medium that is prescripted. If you put him in a game, best case scenario is that the players either befriend him, or put him in jail instead of just shooting him.

1: We all die someday, and it's expensive beyond belief to prolong the inevitable death of some willingly obese/failing organs/whatever for as long as we possibly can. They're not producing anything in that hospital bed, and are thus a drain on society as a whole.
2: Open immigration + free shit = a huge amount of illegals, even more than we already fucking have and pay for, will wash into the US like an unending tidal wave, sucking away tax dollars and going into literal welfare leeches who hate everyone and everything here besides their free money. Lots of other bad shit directly relating to this increase in immigration, but I want to keep this relatively short.
3: I don't want increased taxes
4: >relying on congressmen to tell you how to pay your own bills/make a functional healthcare plan/make a functional anything
5: I don't know about europeons, but in America we don't blindly trust/obey government officials just because they have a shiny badge or a desk in a federal office. Self-determination is a pretty big thing here, and I'd argue that anyone who doesn't want to be able to choose for themselves should be castrated, since they're clearly not going to use them anyway.
6: We didn't win the cold war against a socialist empire just to become a socialist country. Everyone else can become one because it keeps their economy, and since their governments listen to US, leashed to America, who exploits absolutely every country better than their countrymen do and there's little anybody can do about it.
8: Complain, condescend, bitch, and bewilder at us all you want. We run this shit from one end of the world to the other. A free market is better for every man than another man telling you what to buy. Yeah yeah, american workers don't get mid-day naps like french workers, nor do they get sixty vacation days a year, and we don't live in a "cashless society", whatever the fuck that means, like Sweden claims to be moving onto.
But maybe, consider this, that's because we're footing the bill of all of these countries' unsustainable and uncompetitive practices.

I'll just be sitting here cleaning my AR while listening to pirated music, drinking lemonade, and checking my stock portfolio. The US sure is a shithole.

>Complain, condescend, bitch, and bewilder at us all you want. We run this shit from one end of the world to the other. A free market is better for every man than another man telling you what to buy. It's why you buy american jeans, listen to american CD's on american computers, and complain about america on american website. You think we're stupid for hating increased taxes. We think you're stupid for calling yourselves free without a constitution.

I don't think people even listen to CD's on computers anymore. Music is all downloaded singles sales and peer to peer sharing mostly. Some of your "american" jeans are stitched in India or Taiwan and your computers are made with 100% asian parts and labour and this website is owned by a Japanese person. A large number of your biggest American brands aren't even 100% American owned anymore and some of the products aren't even made in America. So no idea what you're bragging about and i'm not even a Yuropoor.

As someone who is living in a Slavic shithole with supposedly "universal healthcare", I can say with absolute fucking confidence I don't want universal healthcare.

I've found your problem. It's not universal healthcare.

Dude, corruption can and always does happen in the government.
It's just that capitalism mitigates the influence of corruption, because when everyone is corrupted, no one is.
While socialistic bullshit ensures the divide between the goverment and everyone else, and thus, there is no one left to watch the watchers.

I'm fucking tired of these patriarchal (nothing to do with SJW interpretation of that particular word) moods, when everyone thinks that the Big Daddy sitting up above in the governement knows best what it is good for you personally.

No, he doesn't. You are a fucking citizen of your country. People are fallible. Government is fallible. Just look at that multiculturalistic bullshit that was and is happening in Europe. Look at Russia where its own citizens are treated like dogshit for the benefit of a select few.

I don't want to turn this into /pol/ discussion, so consider the issue closed in this thread.

Shane the Shy meets Snidley Whiplash

Dastardly deeds, n^(n!) escape plans, each more circuitous than the last. Bonus points for including the lines "excuse me, gentlemen, but it seems that I have a zeppelin to catch" and "I will trade you the launch codes for the other half of the amulet"

I guess that last one is more actual villainy

Only works in high trust, homogeneous societies like Finland or Sweden, where the local culture abhors abusing such services for personal gain, plus the knowledge that the tax money spent on UHC will go to help members of your own people.

Let me ask you this?
Why would you want to pay massive taxes so that Jamal and Tyrone, who share none of your blood, culture or history, and in no way, are your kin, can just leech off those funds to get their flu shots?

I don't want to sacrifice my own resources to help people who aren't my kin, part of my tribe, and I suspect that is true for most other humans. We are tribal species after all.

Therein lies the problem. The Internet used to be a world built by outcasts, for outcasts. Now it's only outcasts who aren't on it. The railroad came to the Old West and it was frontier no more.
