Hey /pfg/, rate my homebrew archetype

Blessed Sneak (Unchained Rogue Archetype)

Class Skills: A Blessed Sneak gains Knowledge (Religion) as a class skill. This explicitly stacks with any other archetype ability that modifies a rogue's class skills.

Spellcasting: A Blessed Sneak casts divine spells drawn from the Cleric spell list. A blessed sneak can cast any spell they know at any time without preparing it ahead of time, assuming they have not yet used up their allotment of spells per day for the spell's level. They learn, prepare, and casts spells exactly as an Inquisitor does, including the number of spells known and the amount of spells they can cast each day.

This ability replaces the rogue talents gained at 2, 6, 10, 14, and 18, and explicitly stacks with any rogue archetype that modifies rogue talents so long as talents at those levels are still availiable to be given up.

Domain: At first level, a Blessed Sneak selects a single Domain availiable to their god. They add the spells of that domain to their list of known spells when they become able to cast the level of a specific spell. At fourth level, they gain access to that domain's base power, and at twelfth, they gain access to that domain's level 8 power. They may choose subdomains as normal.

This ability replaces the rogue's finesse training and debilitating injury class features.

Like a Sorcerer is Intuitive, since it just comes to them, while a Wizard is Trained.

For RotJR? You have PoW and SoP available. Even against the people who aren't optimizing hardcore you're still going to get shit on.

Look, I've got Song Lilin. Combat starts, she wins initiative with +1 Dex, +2 Outlander (Exile), +4 Silver Crane Waltz. She moves and attacks, hitting on an 8, and dealing 22 damage on average with an Animus Boosted Spark Strike. That means more than half the time you're down to less than half health in one attack. She has 20 AC with Silver Crane Waltz, so you hit less than half the time, and deal 13 damage on average. If you study you can boost that a bit, but she can still handle it.

I thought I was too stupid for it too. Just try, PoW is a lot easier than it seems.

Never tell a lie is the plan unless I'm in dire circumstances. Part of his backstory is he made a promise as a child to Ameiko that was very far reaching and it is still in effect. A large part of his life is centered around a foolishly made promise as a child when he did not understand what was going on yet. The fact that if he goes against it he becomes physically ill is a big reason he is as warped as he is.

The damage stance I have is Elemental Nimbus. It's 3, maybe 4 damage on hit. Silver Crane Waltz gives me a bonus to AC, Initiative, and Reflex saves.

I am planning on playing a Sorcerer in my friend's game set on the mtg plane of Ravnica. I've convinced him to let me play a mad Social scietist. Scarlet Throne is really good if you're using one weapon. Otherwise not really.

A Stance is a passive effect. You can have one Stance on at any time and it doesn't wear off.

Boosts are special things you can do. Most of them are swift actions, and you do something like reposition yourself.

Strikes are special attacks. You attack using special rules as detailed by the attack, for example making a skill check instead of an attack roll.

There are also Counters, which you use when certain conditions are fulfilled, like being targeted by an attack.

You have two lists. Maneuvers known and Stances known. Stances are Stances, and Maneuvers are Strikes, Counters, and Boosts.

Scarlet Throne is great if you're going with a single weapon, usually one-handed such as a longsword. Boosts are swift actions that improve your abilities for usually a turn, although some boosts keep you improved for longer or do stranger things. Stances are always-active abilities that give you a passive benefit, such as "increase your dodge bonus to AC" or "all attacks you make add extra Fire damage"; you can only have 1 stance active at a time. Strikes are standard-action attacks that let you hit something and usually either make it easier to hit, or have a rider-effect upon successfully hitting. NToRacle more or less helped me make my mind and settle on Sorcerer as a base for the gestalt, but I'll be honest, I've never done any gestalt shit. I don't wanna be OP or anything (says the player rolling a 9/9 caster), I just want utility spells and some heals ability.

Some guy told me Warlord or something from PoW would be a decent combination, but I'm a bit skeptic about touching PoW if I'm gonna be Full Caster anyway. At the same time, none of the core options really seem to go well with Sorcerer in general, except maybe Paladin, but RazPri is no LG do gooder.

Another thing I've been considering is Bard|Oracle, but that's me working in a void with no gestalt experience under my belt.

So the best thing I can help you with is this, ask me a specific question and I'll tell you how to accomplish it.

Sorcerer does well with a fair number of things.

Someone you want to consider though there are Active and Passive classes. A spell caster is an Active class because most of their features are spells you act on. A passive class is more like a Paladin with their auras which are always on.

What it becomes about is that despite having double the class features you have the same number of actions.

RazPri + Demagogue bard could be interesting actually if you want to go the buffing route.

Being a PoW character actually helps lessen this because PoW uses your immediate and swift action heavily, making it so you can actually be partially double active.

I would actually say Zealot rather than Warlord for RazPri, being a creation zealot you are FANTASTIC at defense, the best there is. The only weakness you have is battlefield control, which RasPri can cover along with utility.

Spellslots running out is a legitimate concern, but saving throws can't particularly because not only are saves lower than AC until much higher levels, but a fullcaster such as a wizard or oracle will have a near-monofocus on their mental stat of choice (an 18 or 20 post-racial at 1st level, potentially with Spell Focus if they don't have any better feat to choose), making their DC much more difficult to resist than a maneuver's targeting (since an initiator will want a 16 or 14 in both their physical attacking stat and their mental stat). Like I admit though, spell-slots are a problem until 5th or 7th level when you can afford to toss them around.

A L L D A Y is a meme uttered by people who don't understand how a real game actually works. If you follow the 15-minute workday of a fullcaster, than being able to go all day doesn't matter. If you actually do have a full day of adventuring and multiple situations, then no single character is going to be able to cover EVERY event; a spellcaster will run out of spellslots, a mundane martial doesn't have the skillpoints to make himself useful, an initiator is better but still pigeonholed themselves into either Utility (making their combat not as good) or Combat (making them almost as bad as a mundane in non-combat situations), and kineticists/warlocks/A L L D A Y-ers are still trash.

I thought we were angry about skill checks. Is the issue with NToRacle is the fact he's a caster?

His only utility spell is Tap Inner Beauty.

People freak out about any full caster, but the Cleric spell list isn't nearly as good as the Wizard when it comes to utility. This is offset by the fact clerics have their entire spell list to draw from. Oracle have a much rougher time with spell choice than sorcerers honestly.

Unchained Rogues are okay, but the fact that EVERYONE has access to skills severely-limits how much use he actually has. Rogues will traditionally want to invest in UMD, Stealth, Disable Device, Perception, Knowledge (at least 2 types), and Acrobatics. That's 7 out of their 8 skill points every level. If you're a human with a favored class bonus and, let's say, 12 INT, then that raises you up to 11 per level; four skillpoints to put into other skills than the ones listed, every level. That's simply not enough to cover the situations you want to be good at, let alone skills you merely want or need to dabble in.

Lilin's player here. I'm looking at these details again and it honestly isn't that bad. I mean, yes he has a huge boost to skills a few times a day, but outside that he only has +15. By comparison Lilin has +12 to diplomacy, with a pretty consistent +2 that's going to go up at level 4 when she gets access to a domain. I am liking how his back story is turning out as well, as it makes sense he is tied to Ameiko with both friendship and through his curse.

One of the cool things I realized is that with his skill suite he can open almost any lock. He can manage a 65 (when taking 10) check if he burns everything. Even a Superior Lock with Arcane Lock isn't that high.

Could you guys help me for a second? I'm making a Synth Summoner, and need some feedback on the background.

Ok, so in this homebrew setting, long time ago an elder race fought off the Far Realm's invaders - aberrations - and sealed them off in vaults they constructed.

The elder race made a contract with a certain race of outsider to guard the vaults. So each vault is guarded by an outsider. When a ward breaches the outsider would come down to his vault and seal the aberration again.

However, the aberration was too fast/too strong than he imagined and the outsider got seriously wounded - even to the point he couldn't sustain his form in material plane. It would take too long to go back to his native plane to recover, and he will be fucked for breaching the contract.

So, my questions are...
- What kind/race of outsider would fit this background? Doesn't need to be a good outsider.
- What kind of a pact would fit to make the outsider an eidolon? I mean, IIRC the Synth Eidolon does not have an ego of its own, and the summoner just 'wears' its body. So what should my PC offer and offered back?

That's why at the beginning of Jade Regent he would push for Ameiko to go. The whole purchasing the Rusty Dragon and what not he would see as stagnation, and thus not growth.

Also a funny thing he can do, with his luck, natural divination, etc. he can sing absolutely beautifully. He has ranks in perform and can hit the highest bracket for performances.

That is something he would never do at least as he knew it would not make her happy. Even thinking about doing it would make him physically nauseous from his curse.

The guy is literally compelled by a curse to try and make Ameiko happy. Though it now warped in a "stagnation is death" thing he won't do anything that harsh.

That being said his visiting Ameiko happened when he was just a kid and he visited her to give her things and comfort her. He did it as much for himself as for her as his life was grade-A garbage.

He is not a great person, but he isn't a monster.
