I and a friend might be getting into a DnD 5e game where two players are 15 and 16 year olds. Should I be concerned? The gm is in his 30s,

What has been your experience playing with younger players?

Usually alright and well behaved for the most part. They actually want to play the game rather than engage in group political drama.

Question: Is this their first time playing?

If so, keep in mind that younger players tend to have been raised on video games. Which means they know how fantasy works, and will have an easy time immersing themselves and understanding the world they're in.

They also tend to be very objective-minded, which can sometimes manifest as impatience.

Their biggest hurdle is learning to interact with a GM. Most video gamers are used to having options and details presented to them very clearly, whereas TTRPGs reward creativity and digging for information. If you tell a video gamer that there's two doors in the room, they won't observe the doors, peek under them, etc. - they'll just pick a door and open it.

But this isn't some crippling disability, it's simply a matter of not knowing any better. Just play like you normally do, and they'll catch on.

Mixed. Currently I am running a family game. My daughter and the neighbors. So three adults (myself the DM, and the two other parents), my 12 year old daughter, and their son and daughter - both 11/12.

The boy is autistic and annoying. But in general it is good times and good stuff. The kids are fun and in general it is going well.

this is an oportunity to teach them
