I'm pretty sure it's been primed. Look at the base. He used a grey primer. One can of primer I had dried in exactly the same colour as the plastic.

Instead of instant death, when the S of an attack is at least double of the targets T, each unsaved wound inflicts 2 wounds instead of one.

I've been looking at a squad with Volkite chargers and a lightning claw, the claws reroll wounds and the deflagrate means you should be able to use the unit as an effective force without it being easy to tarpit. They'll also make decent headhunters for high wound units.

I replaced the end with the blade of a power sword, looks like a power-polearm. I changed the head to a regular MK4 too, will probably use him as a saboteur or praetor.

Well, sometimes they do get buffs from being an (X) allied detatchment, so if they were allied to Ordo Reductor, for example, they would gain the Walkers In Ruin bonus.

However, they aren't affected by RoW, WT or Primarch/Consul buffs, no.

Let's consider the difference if we chose yes or no.

Primarchs would still be immune. Salamanders praetors would still take 2 wounds on a hit instead of one, so essentially they require 2 power fist hits to kill instead of 3. Normal praetors would also go to 2 hits instead of just 1.

Thanks! I have two of these Kurtha Sedd models and I think I'll try to turn the other one into a Moritat or something. The Crozius arm is really easy to change up because of how the wrist is curled away from the wrist-guard of the bracer. Maybe I can slap on one of the Volkite pistols from BoP.

That they are, but they do get the bonus even if it's mostly useless. If they eventually release a Cybernetica LoW or move Scoria to there (which should def. be done) you could give it +1I/24" range Cortex Controllers, despite the CC being detatchment-based, so entirely useless in a LoW slot.

Shade your metals before doing the chevrons. You are going to shade that right?

Draw your chevrons on with a sharp pencil first, so you dont fuck it up like on the kneepad. Shoulder looks decent enough though, needs to be tidied up.

I'm personally hoping for a support LoW.
In my mind it works as essentially an Ordo Reductor Spartan or Mastodon, but packs less armour and weapons and gives buffs to nearby units, and maybe projects some Void Shields or something, so you can supplement your rather one-track shooty army.

Carry a bunch of Ursarax, Vorax and Myrmidon Destructors to range, then sit there throwing out buff bubbles.

Use masking tape son. It's 2 mins more of preparation, but a loooot of time saved on the painting part and a much better result. Don't forget to paint the edges of each stick of tape yellow so that it acts a shield that prevents black paint from going under the tape and ruining the job.
And don't forget a wash, like cassandora yellow, it'll look better, I'm about to apply mine.

Yup, they're the Prospero marines. I think they're fantastic. The only things I don't like about them is that they don't come with enough holstered bolt pistols or mag pouches for all of the marines (I think it's like 7 of each). And as a strictly personal quibble, I don't like how shallow the eyes are. I've got a squad of FW Mk.IIIs and the eyes are set so deep there's no point in painting them, which is why I paint the plastic marines with black eyes.

Do keep in mind that most metallic paints will look best against a black background, on grey it won't be as shiny most of the time.
This is especially true for airbrush paints, but goes for normal acrylic paint as well.

Thousand Sons Theoretical rules based on my guesstimation:

Some sort of psyker upgrade for characters that lets them become ML1 and only get the primaris. Another one for ICs/ or a Sorcerer Consul.

The Plastic Rubrics make me think they may have access to the Iliastus AC.

Some fancy Terminator unit lead by a sorcerer of some sort.

Maybe Sorcerer Covens.

The assault cannon (or whatever it is) is one of the few pieces in the set with a clear tzeentch symbol molded on. As a result I kind of suspect 30k TSons won't be able to take it, given the rules in Inferno will probably be for the legion before they fully get their chaos on.

Airbrushed the resulting coats tend to be a little more solid than when painted by hand, but other than that I agree with your conclusion.

For white I often substitute Desert Tan (as it's a very light bone colour) and work up from there, results in a slightly warmer hue too.
If I'm going for an entirely metallic base then I usually prime with Gloss Black primer (their newest) as it results in the shiniest metal.

/hhg/, Salamander newbie here. I'm having a lot of difficulty getting my GW Salamander transfers to sit properly on the shoulder pads. It might be its size or shape, but they always end up with a raised pinch or two somewhere along the transfer. Any suggestions?

Recently started a Mechanicum army, using the Ordo Reductor variant. Been going great, lots of fun, but I find I struggle against flyers a lot. Other than a Lightning fighter of my own, what works well to fend off things like Storm Eagles and Kharibdis pods? Our local WE player has one of each and they keep dropping the Red Angel on my head and wrecking my stuff with their big guns.

Why are these such a nightmare? Why did they put vents on the skull "grill" so when you're taking them out they just fucking fall to pieces if you're not extremely careful. Why is it all scaled about 1/3rd too small so the smallest icons look fucking dinky on shoulder plates?

I got the bending down alright. Got experience with brass using some 3rd party eBay etched brass for my Dark Angels. Just the Forgeworld one has stupid sizes and is incredibly, overly fiddly and I can't handle it. One thing I found helps getting fragile bits off the sprue its to cut the part of the sprue that's holding it away from the rest of the frame, then removing the bit itself. No idea if the same principle applies to brass, but it all I got for you I'm afraid.

There's no limit on tacticals or dreads, as neither are all that bad. FMCs, MCs, I've never really experienced, as I've played few games and the worst was against an army of 50% phosphex rapiers.

Stick them on a disk, with a bunch of guitar wire dangling beneath. Add rough approximation of a grav-booster engine, and you've got yourself some hover-tarantulas.

So, /HHG/, sell me on Seekers. I don't really see the point. They're moderately okay in a Raven Guard army that can get them close enough to their target to do anything (or AL if they take Infiltrate from Mutable Tactics), but in pretty much any other situation I don't really see the point. S5 AP2 Shred is good, but it's Heavy 1 which means sitting still, which means no disembark->firing from either pods or rhinos. You either have to infiltrate them or use them to hold backfield as a sort of designated marksman squad. Best case scenario - RG list, add Vigilator for Scout, Infiltrate with 18" of target, Scout to even better position, delete Marked for Dead target immediately on turn one. That's pretty good, but since only 1-2 legions can do it that's just a little too specific for a generic legion infantry unit.

When the unit costs around 300 points once you buy them a Rhino it just seems like you're better off doing anything else. Backfield objective cappers can be Caliver-armed Support Squads; forward AP2 rapers/cappers can be Plasma-armed Support Squads (although they cost even more).

Is there some use I'm not thinking of? It's a way to get a LR Proteus outside of the HS slot, but there's way better ways to do that if that's all you need.

Latest Beast Arises book has the first appearance of Janus. He completely overwhelms/bedazzles the Inquisitor he comes across which is very similar to what Prrimarchs do in the presence of mortals.

Pretty big hint he's a Primarch. The fact he's not described as especially large but still larger than normal also would help the Alpharius/Omegon conspiracy.

My popular theory now is that Alpharius was the loyalist and Omegon was the true traitor (the opposite of pre-Praetorian of Dorn belief), but Alpharius faked his death at the hands of Dorn as a way to escape from his own Legion and defect to Malcador. He became Janus while Omegon continued to lead the Legion. One of them died at Eskrador, who knows which.
