Jumpers!

You've just won a hard fought, long odds victory. You've told me how you celebrate, but how is your end zone dance? How do you rub it in the noses of everyone who told you it couldn't be done?

Tell me your tales of smug and excess.

It runs off of stamina and willpower, so just get Tireless from Overlord and True Name Will from... Lightbringer, I think?
>>

That isn't entirely correct but still it isn't really what I'm asking, I need a way to cut myself loose from a spell that I improperly cast in the succeed or die fashion.

>>50291423
More accurately it runs off magical energy drawn from your stamina and vitality, if you cast a spell the wrong way it will just keep converting your body's energy into magic fuel until you either succeed or die.

Could wordless magic offer a way to undo a spell since it wouldn't be bound by the rules of the ancient language?

>>
>>50291555
I tend to generalize rather than specialize. There's only so many times you can take a better at swording perk before you can sword as good as anyone's ever sworded and anyone ever will sword.

It's also good to have people who can back you up when casting any kind of ritual spell, or serve as assistants for whatever technology you're making.

The thing is, during your talk with Spooks someone asked him on Twitter publicly if Hollows only need a Quincy cross to do Quincy stuff and he confirmed. No explosion. Perhaps it would be better to offer the new Sanrei Glove? In GHQ canon Letzt Stil is caused by using and breaking prototype glove, while Volstandig has the power of Letzt Stil, can be used many times... And is also caused by the glove. As cross is not worth 600, and even the battery but is iffy as Uryuu could fill the Reishi batteries Quincy use with hollow Reiryoku without issue. Maybe make it so it is one of items that we actually CAN link unique power to? I will think on it more

I meant to say it would be more thematic to have Protag be drop-in while Auditor is 200. I don't think we ever seen any backstory for Hank. He just... Starts randomly fighting and then killing in Madness Combat 1. He does all he does because of vengeance for being killed for his no-reason-murder. Meanwhile Auditor is responsible for just about every single or most of events or world and is, like I said, the Final Boss. Being Auditor makes you immune to like 99% of setting due to its 100 cp perk

It gives you access to DC magic. That's not underwhelming at all.

When I did an 8 companion run I went with a bodyguard, a leader, a warrior, a thief, a priestess, a scientist, a witch and a monster. Worked pretty well as archetypes.

My current and main run has only one companion. Started off as a butler/bodyguard, ended up as a general go to "get shit done" kind of guy. Kind of an Alfred to Darth Vader trajectory (albeit if Darth Vader occasionally tidied up and without the inevitable betrayal).

Is the only way to get magic in the magic focused jump going to be buying a specific capstone? In the case of magician you might as well up the price of the origin and make it free for them because it is kind of mandatory if I read that right.
>>
>>50291928
Have to admit, curious as to what sort of thing will be offered when you start giving physical boosts out in mythic jump if this is capstone material here. Damn that's ridiculously strong.

>>50292000

Shazam as in...? Just saying a character's name doesn't really help when comics vary so much in power, particularly with older characters that have been in a bunch of different power levels.

>>50292000
To be fair, those are the upper end of her feats and that a specific set of circumstances led to holding off the void goddess.

What I had originally offered for the physical abilities in the Mythic jump that was tossing airline carriers. Basically upper Aquaman, lower Captain Marvel/Wonder Woman feats.

Maaaybe mention those instead (Or as well as) of just saying she needed the help of two weaker magicians next time? Because it really changes how impressive the feat is then. Goes from making you wonder if this is yet another magic gives more power jump to making it perfectly understandable.
>>
>>50292062
>lower Captain Marvel/Wonder Woman
Great.
>upper Aquaman
Please no.
>>
>>50292071
Anon. Not really what I meant. Shazam as in what the fuck does that actually mean for power levels considering comic power levels, particularly for old characters like Shazam, fluctuate so much over the years. You can say Shazam all you like but it doesn't tell me if this is the Shazam who can punch down a skyscraper or the Shazam who can one shot planets or stars.

The creator answered in the meantime however.
>>
>>50292062
>upper Aquaman
Will it come with a sweet ass mullet?
>>
>>50291928
The con man capstone is dependent on being able to use magic. Not to mention being based on John Constantine. Yesterday you even said that almost everyone can use magic.

Being a super mage is capstone worthy, a basic ability fundamental to the series and several origins isn't.
>>
>>50292108

>Like I said last night, I'll probably give lesser magical potential to Magicians and Guides for free.

>>50291955

>>
>>50292081
Well the examples were still freezing the heart of time except from a small bubble she was in and then enchanting as a house to hold her off after she had destroyed the rest of the universe. It's kind of complicated. Still nothing to sneeze at instead, but maybe not as impressive as I made it sound.

I'll try to be more clear describing the more convoluted feats from now on.
>>
>>50292122
It's...really convoluted yeah. One moment it sounds like this perk is going to give potentially universal scale power and the next it's not really that but much much less?

My last chain was a little hedonistic, so while I have some great stories bout them, they can't really be shared on a blue board.

>>50291555
I don't quite have my eight Companions yet in the new chain, but I do tend to give them roles to help them feel useful and fill in my own gaps.

Raven: Second-in-Command.
===She's in charge of making sure I don't go too mad with power or sink too deeply into any given setting. Archer was a good example of the latter.

Wakana: Jack-of-all-Trades
===It's hard to get a Crow spirit to settle on one thing, but she seems happy like that.

Yamato: Necromancer
===Not a role I ever thought I would have on my team, but give a Dog spirit a bone and all that. I wouldn't mind so much if he didn't occasionally channel Moon Moon and derp out.

Major Lina: Strategist/Support
===She's not much for the front lines. She can still crack skulls when she wants to but he much prefers to lead from the rear. For someone who can from WW2 era Earth, she accepted Jumping as a concept pretty quickly which has helped.

Not quite sure who I'm filling the other slots with yet. Probably Canon Companions. Midna from Twilight Princess perhaps. Balalaika from Black Lagoon if she's willing. Probably the unbroken Deadlight Choir from LoT. As much as I would like the bunny, she's a little high energy for me.
>>
>>50292163
Yeah, see that strength feat? That's cool and all but it doesn't feel close at all to what you're talking up that magic capstone to be.
>>
>>50291555

Focus mainly on crafting, but we can certainly fight when we are needed.

The Main Team
Me/The Tailor - General Support (Heals, buffs, shields, etc)
The Jewelcrafter - Weapons master
The Florist - Archer and crowd control

The Recon Team
The Carver - Assassin
The Writer - Infiltration and Sabotage
The Pianist - Mission control

The Next Generation
The Painter - Rogue
The Sculptor - Shield Master
The Engineer - Cleric
>>
>>50292163
>Aquaman is fuckin swole.
Captain Marvel is weaker than but comparable to Superman, Wonder Woman has contended with both on several occasions, and Aquaman tops out at 25 tons which is far below even the lower powered interpretations of the others mentioned.
>>
>>50292062
You should probably change I Cheat to something else then. Otherwise the Con Man has to buy another origin's perk to use their own capstone.
>>
>>50292226
New 52 Aquaman is hilariously stronger than 25 tons. And CJ could keep shit vague given the mercurial nature of comicshit. Just say 'comparable to but weaker than Wonder Woman/Shazam'.
>>
>>50292226
>Aquaman tops out at 25 tons
>[citation needed]
>>
>>50292191
Zatanna isn't constantly throwing about epic D&D magic.

That's kind of irrelevant, though. The strength perk will be in an entirely different jump and will have affect all your physical abilities, not just strength.

>>50292226
Don't base your assumptions off of the wiki, anon. Aquaman is way stronger, especially in the New 52.

I have no problem with offering higher strength, but I don't know if the thread would go for it.

>>50292249
I can do that or give Con Man the potential perk for free. Like I said, it's all subject to change.
>>
>>50292283
As long as it's balanced with everything else in the jump, the thread will probably be fine with it.
>>
>>50292283
>I have no problem with offering higher strength, but I don't know if the thread would go for it.
I think equal to or slightly below the two most relevant magic based flying bricks is a good capstone.

We do tend to be rather conservative when it comes to Strength/durability perks here, it's often easier to get high level physical abilities as a tangential benefit of other perks than it is to get them from a perk dedicated to said physical abilities.

Spider-Man Trilogy:

17 years old
Businessman
Human Resources
Sell, Sell, Sell 150
Cut-Throat Business 450
Costume
Secret Identity 500
Daily Jumper 800
Rolodex
PhD 900
Spider Bite 1500
Emotional Powers 1300
The Amazing Target! 1000

Well apparently there was a Raimi's Spider-Man jump dropped towards the end of last thread. It's pretty sweet too.

Went in as a 17 year old Businessman as that was allowed, I rolled low. Figure this makes me still at school albeit occasionally popping in to my newspaper offices.

Human Resources is a great freebie, lets you get talented staff when they're cheap.

Sell, Sell, Sell means there'll always someone somewhere who will buy my products even if they're sort of shitty. And I went, “This is news to me, sweetheart. I made this show, with my sweat and blood… I spent the last 4 weeks of my life making this show! Do you want it?” No, they say. So I’m, y’know, caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, having to sell 40 episodes of a medical-based, horror show… um, with no one buying it. That’s why we had to put it out in Peru. Thank god for the Peruvian market.

Cut-Throat Business gives you a 6th sense for knowing what bit of skullduggery will make you money in a given situation which is handy.

Not entirely sure what Secret Identity does other than provide you with a bag nobody looks in but I had a leftover 50 CP.

Daily Jumper gives me a newspaper which is guaranteed readers which I can lean on to print my own mad stuff. Good for propaganda-ing and printing nonsense and getting it read.

Rolodex gives me some contact details for people. Could be handy.

PhD gives me a PhD that people will think is real in something. Sort of another leftover CP one but figured it'd be useful. Not sure what I'd take it in.

Spider Bite is the main draw for me. The much maligned organic webshooters are pretty damn handy.

Emotional Powers don't matter too much. The Amazing Target! gives me something to do.
>>
>>50292121

It's because he kind of sucks compared to the other 'main' leaguers. Superman and Wonder Woman are physical powerhouses, Green Lantern has a superweapon on his finger, Flash is so fast that he can outrun death, etc.

Basic Procedure has been moved to the Pirate tree, as either another capstone or bumped down to 400. Not sure yet.

Here's the replacement.

And What Would This ‘Jumper’ Advise You To Do Now? [600, Discount for Galactic Federation] – You know that some must live and some must die. Hard choices have to be made on the battlefield, and entire platoons have to be coordinated properly to be used to their full effectiveness. You are now a master of both of these. You can quickly calculate the results of a choice in terms of strategy and tactics within seconds, and while you can’t see into the future, you’ll find your math tends to be spot on. You are also a capable leader at both the squad and the General level, able to coordinate small teams to large armies effectively, being a master tactician and strategist...and you will only perform even better with forces that admire or trust you in a strong capacity.

I couldn't call it 'Perfect Mind' or 'Perfect Military Mind' without cringing, so I took a more dignified quote.

If you do something horrendously evil for good motivations, then you still need to be stopped by force. Doesn't matter if your internal narrative isn't one of evil, for all practical purposes (including the one where you're too dangerous to live), you're evil.

>dude, the maximum liberty zone would have been the exact opposite of anti-life. Have you seen anti-life?
I'll grant you that one, though. It's...well, not anti-anti-life, because that would be good again, but it is off on a different axis of horrible ideas than anti-life is.
>>
>>50293748
Yes. It removes the free will of everyone. The only difference is that in this one they're free to do what you want to let them do and can't do anything else, and are aware of it. It's one step removed from anti-life.
>>
>>50293787

Because "maximum liberty" is the same thing as "maximum entropy". You need physics and structure and implicate order to the universe so that you can actually get things done. A world where everything is malleable and controlled by will is an acid trip, not a paradise.

So a few threads back there was a discussion on Kryptonian DRM, and acquiring Kryptonian DNA. Sure, and if you were advocating a way to change the laws of physics gradually, that would be fine. But if you just up and remove them all at once, then everyone dies. Life requires physical law, you can't have existence without rules governing that existence. Otherwise it's purely random chance that anything happens. So one of two things happens. Either you institute some physical laws, in which case people are limited by how you decided they should be limited and you've affirmed your will over that of everyone else. Or you wind up causing all consciousness to dissolve back into the primal chaos from before the light moved upon the deep. In the first one, you're a tyrant. In the second, you're a genocide.
>>
>>50294043
Okay you're wrong on severalpoints there, the idea basically boils down to " when everyone is Bill Cipher No one will be"
>>
>>50293961
It also means you aren't relevant whatsoever.
>>
>>50294042
The raksha are even less significant than the Sun. Far, far less. Mortals can beat up raksha, that's how shitty being a creature of will and malleable physics is. Having physical laws is like having a skeleton. Sure, having a rigid body inside you means you're not as flexible as the octopus. But it means you're a lot stronger and more durable, and that lets you impart your will on the other rigid bodies around you to reshape the world as you desire.
>>

Because he's a spirit of chaos and corruption. Remember how he destroyed his universe because it was too boring? And you want everyone to be like him? It only takes one asshole to ruin all existence, even if the majority uses their omnipotence responsibly. You need to put in limits somewhere. How do you keep monsters from fucking the world up? Physical laws, absolutes that you can't defy, prevent that sort of scenario. That's why we have them.

Having watched the anime, I'd say that's about right-ish? The Mysterious Beings are prettymuch all genetics, whereas the Heroes Association is almost all shonen training, skill, and technology.
There's a little overlap between the two, but that's mostly how it seems to be.

If you're super good at stealing genetics, you can probably stay comparable to any Mysterious Beings as they show up, and if you're super good at skill copying you can be comparable to all the heroes.
Barring weird outliers like Saitama or Tatsumaki, that is.
Tatsu is probably half and half, I would imagine. Saitama is [???].

Of course if you don't have any of that I guess you just have to git gud.
>>
>>50294263
And that's before we get into the people who start tampering with their own minds for various reasons. It would easily lead to a snowball effect and end up with hordes of crazy inhuman beings after they excise or add in more and more stuff to fit with their "ideal".
>>
Shenanigans that can be used with those Lost Odyssey perks - go to DC and equip some Power Rings until you have 'learned' the ability to use emotional energy like a power ring. You now have the powers of a power ring (minus the AI, probably) innately. Use that on a White Power Ring and you've got the abilities of a White Power Ring. But, since you're not actually *using* or taking a White Power Ring with you when you leave the jump you're not beholden to the whole 'no taking white power rings with you when you leave the jump' clause. Because you're not taking it with you, you're taking the powers of it with you.
>>
Where's Gaunlet, anyway
>>
>>50294438

>>50294380
So people shouldn't strive to be more like their ideals? i'm missing how this is a bad thing.
>>50294185
It's Not genetics. If you read the comic . It's basically that everyone is a Shōnen protagonist who can become whatever they are most obsessed with. It's implied that caped Baldy is a mysterious being who wanted to be a hero who can defeat anyone with one punch. Hell, there's an entire species of mysterious beings Called Ugmons who are just people who are extremely ugly and gained power from their ugliness. and the fish of darkness sure as hell Didn't have anything to do with genetics .

Because the resulting consciousness will then have a further ideal to go for, ad infinitum until it's ripped apart and changed enough of its own brain that it's no longer the same person. It's like Attitude from Power Rangers, only freely reusable. There's a reason it's considered one of the most terrifying perks in the Chain.

Just because people can't tamper with one another without permission doesn't impede the possibility of someone doing something really stupid to themselves.

No, he's posing the Motivation Trap problem. Someone thinks "It'd be cool to be X," and modifies themselves to be X, without realizing that themselves as X cannot conceive of ever wanting to be whatever they were before being X, and it turns out being X kinda sucks.

Like, some operating systems have those little timed popups that ask you if you're sure you want to change your resolution, just in case you fuck something up and set your screen to be completely unreadable. The logic being that if you can accept the popup, the screen is legible enough to work the rest of the resolution settings so you aren't locking yourself out.

With no rules that popup doesn't happen, and instead of a screen you're setting the resolution on your brain. Even /with/ rules it's a significant risk.

I could rewrite it as such.

>>50295149
Yeah but if you just want something to look like Hooleer you could have a poor substitute.

>>50295172
Hollow Trees are the trees in the Gillian Forest, unless I've missed my mark, as for special ingredients I don't have a clue.
>>
>>50295174
I actually had similar idea regarding it, but it IS interesting though. What if we rip off its mask?
>>
>>50295172
Yes it is. Growing older doesn't cause ridiculously drastic changes or remove key parts of your psyche or humanity. You're not going to be able to talk someone into suddenly not feeling particular emotions ever again, or otherwise becoming Reality Marble grade crazy. This can make instantaneous irreversible changes on a whim.
>>
>>50295172
Yes. The speed at which a process happens can easily alter the outcome. For example, a Twinkie has much more chemical energy in it than an equal mass of TNT. But the speed at which energy is released through digesting a Twinkie or even burning it is much lower than that of detonating TNT. So despite theoretically being a more deadly explosive than a stick of dynamite, Twinkies are perfectly safe to eat or leave around exposed flame.
>>
>>50295246
This, pretty much. Personal development is predominantly shuffling around beliefs and goals, with the underlying system remaining largely the same.

There /is/ some fundamental change caused by brain development as a child ages, but that's a road well-traveled whereas people with full root access to their own minds will likely be forging their own path with no support.
>>
>>50295208
Wait, so we CAN grant other Hollows natural ability to collect spirit particles so they are even better if they have the cross? Badass.

Sanrei Glove, new one, also grants Volstandig. And main reason to have it is so we can train our Quincy abilities... Unless we can link Unique Power to it.

I don't want to spend 600 cp on a non scaling option. It would be like buying a regular gun in Exalted. We don't even have access to Blut

And why not give an actual Hooleer
>>
Is Spyro around? I've got a request/question regarding LoSS.
>>
>>50295379
>No CTRL+ALT+DELETE jump
>>
>>50295399
Huh?

>>50295379
Anyway, my question is this: would it be possible to update the jump to include a point-buy option in the jump that allowed you to take additional selections in the supplement?

I really like some of the options in that supplement, and if I could toss some CP at picking up a few more that'd be awesome.
>>
>>50295399
We've got a drawback for it in /coco/'s Bizarre Adventure.
>>
>>50295172
People naturally die eventually, so therefore brutally murdering someone is perfectly fine because they were eventually going to die in a completely different way unaided .
>>
So, how large is the Shinkoku Trastrium in terms of Star Systems held? Could Supcom/Forerunner tech conquer and hold a large portion of it barring demigods? If I stop several planets from worshipping the demigods, will they be weakened?
>>
>>50292354
Secret Identity is a way to hide your normal clothes without the risk of someone finding them while you are running around in your super hero/villain costume. Useful for low powered jumpers, or playing around.
>>
>>50295343
>Wait, so we CAN grant other Hollows natural ability to collect spirit particles so they are even better if they have the cross?
Yeah Spookyng said the cross was good for everything the original crosses did and that in combination with the Revolution in Written Form you could do most all the feats shown other than things that Yhwach would keep to his chest, like the Holy Wards and the Sternritter Letters.

>Sanrei Glove, new one, also grants Volstandig. And main reason to have it is so we can train our Quincy abilities...
I'll ask Spookyng for details but he seems amiable to it.

>I don't want to spend 600 cp on a non scaling option.
I can understand this.

>And why not give an actual Hooleer.
Well there is a Canon Companion Option.

So what are all the endjumps that we have and which one will you eventually chose?
>>
>>50295480
>Shinkoku Trastrium
You mean from Asura Wrath's? They only have Earth/Gaea and no real interplanetary stuff shown (Aside from Asura when he gets angry enough).

You could stop cities/villages on the surface from worshipping them and halt the Mantra they accumulate though? But they likely have a bunch stored.
>>
>>50295502
But the "reawakening Quincy powers" doesn't give them to non Quincies...

And Blut doesn't use a cross, although interesting
>>
>>50295480
It's a single solar system, and there are humans only on Gaea with the Demigods living in space. The "multiple planets of Mantra generation" needed to reach Mantra Level 7 or higher is unsupported by canon, given that Asura did it with only one planet's worth. Granted, Asura has his own advantages in Mantra generation from his endless rage, but it's never indicated to be six times as much as the entire planetary population's (given that he definitely reaches Mantra Level 8 in the fight with Chakravartin, which the jumps says requires at least seven planets worth).
>>
>>50295480
>If I stop several planets from worshipping the demigods, will they be weakened?
No. Huge portions of the jump are completely non-canon, most especially "Mantra-levels".

You can't cut off their supply planet-by-planet because there's only one planet from which they receive their Mantra energy.
>>
>>50295529
Looking into things right now.
>>
>>50295525
Dragonball, Tenchi Muyo, Darksiders, Sburb, Gurren Lagann, Devil Survivor 2, 40k Freelancer... A few more, I think?

I'll be going with either Dragonball or Tenchi, depending. Both of those have a few things I still want.
>>
>>50295555
Light of Terra was supposed to have an endjump option, but Babylon never finished it.
>>
>>50295525
SBURB, Lord powers most fit my 'physical god' theme
>>
>>50295525
As long as I haven't Jumped it beforehand, SBURB. Master Classes are the most fun Endgame reward.
>>
>>50295532
I hate that the most. The "require population of multiple planets because there is an amount of Mantra one planet can't generate more than"

That's bullshit, you just stockpile that shit
>>
>>50295601
I thought that ruling was to make sure people didn't argue over what constitutes a planetary population (i.e Is 8 Billion a planetary population, 30 Billion, 100 Billion)?

>>
>>50295525
Dragonball
Tenchi Muyo
Darksiders
Sburb
Gurren Lagann
Devil Survivor 2
SMT
Heroic Age

Honestly? None of them. None of them really match my criteria for what I'd like in an end-jump, as they all only really challenge you based on one aspect or another. Dragonball, Darksiders, Gurren Lagann, DS2, and SMT all challenge your ability to kill things, Tenchi Muyo challenges your subtlety and wit, and Heroic Age challenges your determination. Sburb mostly challenges your knowledge of the lore about Hamsteak and how you'd factor in to it, as well as your sheer ability to cheat.

I need something that challenges me on all levels - philosophical, physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, magical, technological & scientific, my ability to lead my nation, my connects with my Companions and family, literally everything. If it can't do that then it's not fulfilling.

This story needs a proper climax.
>>
>>50295643
That causes the same problem. There is a huge difference between 8 billion souls and 100 billion souls.

What, can I just put 1 million on one planet, one million on moon and one million somewhere else and I have 3 planetary populations?

>>
>>50295532
What, you only really need a single planet if they're actively praying and feeling the appropriate emotion. It's a bit hard to set up, especially for the eighth level, but not at all impossible with a single planet.
>>
>>50295781
Yeah. That's the thing. As it is written, you can't ever go into multiple planetary population level ever with one planet. It just locks you
>>
>>50295728

>>
>>50295781
No, you explicitly need seven planets. It's not "a number of mantra sources equal to that which seven planets could generate", it's "seven planets generating mantra".

It only says that the population of a world gives the same amount of mantra regardless of precise number of inhabitants, nothing about not being able to use the multiplier with them to gain extra mantra.

>>
>>50295897
Only in that a number of sources equal to the entire population of the planet gives one "world" unit of Mantra at base, without regard to the size of the population. Not without regard to the circumstances of the Mantra production.
>>
>>50295735

Still trying to figure out if it's gonna be something like Merchant mentioned where you're going through the Heisei worlds getting your powers back world by world or if it becomes a "get the golden ending in all 9 Heisei rider shows while a Decade who has Kamen Ride of the protagonists of every IP opposes you"
It'd take some screwing aroudn
>>
>>50295936
I really enjoy Spookyng's style and have been reading it for a while, so yeah I do enjoy it. Part of that enjoyment has come from reading the inbetween stuff that the Thread over there are doing. They like to hatch evil schemes like the Over Heaven plan and stuff like that, which is funny and their reactions to some rolls are worthy of note as well.
>>
>>50295956
So having everyone on world pray twice for the period of time required to grant one mantra unit, and feel emotion, would give us four planets worth?
>>
Why do you need more then one planet for the levels anyway? I mean, Gaia was the only planet that anyone not named Chakravartin had access to, that was the point. I mean, maybe it would make sense for post-jump (and that's a maybe), but in the jump itself it would totally screw up the plot because half the cast wouldn't be able to do what they do.

I'm not trying to rag on Muyo, especially since he's not here to explain his reasoning, but I just don't get it.
>>
>>50295970
Over Heaven is nice. Under Hell is interesting...

But if we ever go into movie or filler stuff, Hell stuff or transformation might happen. Or we find Hitler
>>
>>50296000
That reminds me. if you take the literally Hitler drawback you'll be destined for the burny place... I'll mention that in the rewrite I'm doing.
>>
>>50295982
Because it was made very early in the history of /jc/, when it was still considered "OP" to be able to tank an entire modern platoon.

Also, some of our more prominent jumpmakers had a hand in nerfing it.
>>
>>50295954
That would sound pretty cool honestly.
>>
>>50296000
>inb4 Hitler is actually Aizen with a fake mustache

>>
>>50296035
Aaaand here's the reason for AW even being brought up suddenly.

Thinly-veiled jabs at certain jumpmakers. As usual.
>>
Quick question, the champion cost in the champion supplement are not to be halved right? picking one of your background only remove the 200 CP cost, correct me if i'm wrong.
>>
>>50296169
I assume you're talking League of Legends, in which case: Yes. Taking a Champion from your corresponding origin waives the 200 CP ticket to the supplement.

e.g. Xin Zhao is 100 for a Soldier, but 300 for a Noble.
>>
>>50296052
Well...
1. Hitler isn't actually a focus, unless you count the times when the thread thought the MC was Hitler.
2. I could see Aizen doing that to mass produce Hollows of Gillian and higher levels. To create a better war stock.
3. #2 disturbed me.

Just food for thought.
>>
>>50296183
Yes thank you, I was in doubt if the champions of your background were considered discounted or not.
>>
Any ideas what an appropriate mythical animal would be for a Wolf hollow that reachea the Fifth Step? Could the Ressureccion would be an enormous wolf modelled after Fenris?
>>
>>50296266
After speaking personally with Spookyng it is either the Fifth Step or Arrancar no doing both.
>>
>>50296148
Shouldn't you be in school, Timmy?
>>
>>50296266
I'd say go with Fenris, personally.
>>
>>50296313
Why the fuck would Timmy be supportive of jumpmakers, anon.
>>
>>50296291
Oh. Huh. Okay then.

Is the Fifth Step a bigger increase in power at the cost of becoming less humanoid?
Are Arrancars auto-capped at whatever power level they are at when they become so or can they grow with traditional training?
>>
>>50296291
Does your theme have to be an animal? I know nothing of GHQ, but Barrigan was a skelly and Ulquiorra was... a demon or something?
>>
>>50296266
I recommend the Tiangou, the enormous black canine (some myths say dog, some say wolf) from Chinese mythology that lived in the sky and nearly ate the world before it was driven away. It's like Fenrir, only cooler since it can fly.
>>
What are some jumps that let you be canon characters? So far I've only got Fullmetal Alchemist
>>
>>50296321
Timmy has been plenty "supportive" of jumpmakers, anon. To include "rounding powerwankers into camps".

That's not real support, though. It's not support so much as its trying to spread paranoia and hysteria throughout this community. Like it or not, Asura's Wrath was not considered to be "acceptable" in terms of power when it was made. When you look at every question and criticism through a lens of hate and division, you're no better than any shitposter, anon.
>>
>>50296318
>>50296266
Also yeah Fenris would be a fine Fifth step. I was actually going to ask you guys your opinions on that.

>>50296333
Fifth Step is a huge increase in power upfront with the ability and the ability to continue growth, forever. So yeah.

>Are Arrancars auto-capped at whatever power level they are at when they become so or can they grow with traditional training?
Training still works but their Hollow Powers get sealed and they don't seem to progress unless you go Segunda Etapa.

>>50296342
>Does your theme have to be an animal?
In GHQ there are also plant hollows, which I'll be switching up. Note that one of the two Plant hollows I've read about is forever a tree, he commands an army of 'Buds'.

>I know nothing of GHQ, but Barrigan was a skelly and Ulquiorra was... a demon or something?
Barrigan was a Human and Ulquiorra was a bat.
>>
>>50296342
>Ulquiorra was... a demon or something?
He's a bat. Those horns are meant to be stylized ears, and his Resurreccion is named "Murcielago", Spanish for "bat".
>>
Here's the new Spider-man Trilogy jump again, now with Emotive which lets you get across facial expressions even if you have a full face mask.
>>
>>50296411
You need to be a vasto lorde already to get that increase in power and growth, correct?
>>
>>50296411
A Fifth Step can't Arrancar?

Damn. That means we can never be humanoid or have enough skin exposed if we go fifth step... Unless we use the plot rock in jump, and then forget about it
>>
>>50296457
Looking good TopHat

>>50296496
Yeah.

>>50296501
Yep.
>>
>>50296411
Anyone know any way you could imitate becoming an Arrancar after fifth step with OOC stuff? I like the idea of being a mythical hollow, but I also like the idea of sealing your powers and assuming a mostly-human looking form.

Surely there's some way to do it outside of just basic shapeshifting? I don't care about the power boost, but the aesthetics and maybe the sealing your power in a weapon sounds cool.
>>
>>50296457
Spider Bite + Recolored Suit. If Recolored Suit already gives us spider level powers then...
>>
>>50296501
Wait, can we do that? Steal a Hogyoku ans use that to go Arrancar after fifth step?
>>
>>50296547
Well.... you could just wait for REBORN to finish and be an Arrancar there, as my Jump and its rules only hold here in the Jump, but I get that you guys are trying to diversify.
>>
>>50296568
Er... Maybe. In GHQ the Plot Rock is called that because that is what it do. Makes Plot happen. Spookyng says as much on his twetter.
>>
>>50296576
Ah, forgot both Alt Forms combine in this case.

Is Fifth Step once more into beast form or are we kind of like Vasto Lorde except our animal theme changes to something mythical and it is less armor or such and more actual skin and face and stuff?
>>
>>50296576
Nah, I'm probably going to pick up some Hollow powers there too, actually. Or a Visored if nothing else. Bone masks and hollow transformations are the single coolest thing about Bleach, imo.

But wouldn't they be separate somehow? Say I'm a dragon hollow in GHQ. Bleach Arrancar form will release into something else instead of dragon form, right?
>>
>>50296457
I wasn't here in time to say it earlier, but this is nice work.

One question, though: is this for the first Spider-Man movies, the reboot, a combo of both, or do we just fanwank?

You know, the "animatronics are just confused and killing you by accident" bit from the first game always scared me more than the later revelations of them being haunted. Something about the "innocent monster" idea, something killing you without any actual intent to do so just freaks me out. You've combined the two ideas quite nicely here, though. Haunted AND malfunctioning, so you get enough self-awareness to experience its own horror but not enough to keep it from hurting people who don't deserve it.

So the racial perks are done, but I have no idea on how to properly price them. I put in placeholder costs that can and will likely change before the final version.

Also, as an alternative to how the racial perks work now I was thinking about discount on race specific perks for the race and a little bit of extra cp for sidekicks to spend there.

The balance between the sidekicks being able to afford more sidekick abilities is the villain and hero capstones (which will be more obvious once I get the customization sections done) and some stuff i'm going to put in the items section for drop-ins. The thinking behind the sidekick thing is that the background is based on marios companions who were non-human

In the movie it is shown to work via super senses, but a lady at the lab with the spiders calls them out as being almost precognition.

The suit is expanded in range just a bit because just blocking one guys danger sense in one jump isn't very useful post jump.

Essentially it's the regular danger sensing spider-sense + better senses.

You should do Person of Interest. Partly because it would fit the show's theme (murders being reported by the machine) and partly because Reese might be one of the few normal humans who could genuinely put up a fight against Dan (not physically of course, machine vs man after all, but he's skilled, smart, and seemingly immune to being blinded by fear or rage because of his training).

So, Heroes/Villains get discounts in their customization sections? I guess that could work. It seems kinda off, since it sort of locks them into taking those. But if it's cool enough, it seems fine to me.

Racial perks seems kinda lop-sided right now, some getting 1/2/3/4 perks, with Shy Guy for 6 perks... and then there's Koopa with 11? Means sidekicks can get anywhere from 500cp discount to 950CP discounts depending on what they pick.

Anyway, I'm going to vote for this:

Size 12 font, Times New Roman, indented paragraphs.

Four origins - no cost, four perks per origin in 100-200-400-600 format. No 50 CP options, those are just a waste of time and writing effort. Three items per origin, CP cost doesn't matter.
Drawbacks should be 100-200-300 with two of each.

Age and location rolls don't matter, disregard them.

Honestly, probably be doing them a favor. Their big deal appears to be constantly obsessing over things due to the lack of a wholeness
Making them whole beyond simply giving them the 9 medals would probably make them like Ankh was at the end of OOO
>>
>>50298834
I don't think it would be particularly bad. They're the way they are because their missing Medals means they're inherently stunted emotionally and sensationally, and those tend to be traits associated with souls. Giving them one might let them grow as people, like Ankh did from parasitizing Shingo.
>>
>>50298860
>>50298864
Oh. Cool, I'm all about redeeming villains when possible, so that works. Now I just have to figure out how to give them souls and then work from there. Obviously they won't change right away, so I'll probably still have to fight them alongside OOO, but it's a start at least.

Fair... I could see about doing an discovery/patience/enlightenment thing. Well, Qaf's themes are contemplation, impossible knowledge, and infinity. So something about mind-boggling koans, or that whole thing where a villain breaks someone with a well-placed question. http://nishkriya.com/Threads/Details/9579

>Ascending Wisdom Catechism
>Qaf teaches his sacred truths through the metaphysical trials of his mountainous ascent, forcing pilgrims and questants to internalize his enlightened teachings before they may advance. Whenever the Infernal succeeds in convincing a heroic enemy of the validity or moral superiority of the warlock’s own purpose, religion, philosophy, or system of ethics, roll his Temperance. Each successes removes one point of accrued Limit. Social attacks, unnatural mental influence, torture, and other coercive means are all valid forms of persuasion for this act of villainy, but the enemy must be sincerely convinced; a sword-point conversion spoken without true conviction does not qualify.
>>
>>50299091
I wonder if you could resist Sacheverell's visions if you had enough anti-precognition and destiny perks (for those not familiar with Exalted, Sacheverell is kept in eternal sleep because if he were awake his perfect predictions of the future would collapse the waveform of possibilities and remove all free will from the cosmos. This is actually an amazing thing to get in the chain if you can manage it. Like becoming a martian and using the Animus to get the genetic memories and using anti-mindrape perks to get passed the whole evil shit the race is compulsed to do.

Yes. The Burning Martian in the panels we've posted? That's J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter, superhero and all around great guy. The instant he Burned, he became an absolute sadist of the worst kind. Furthermore, their reproductive cycle is triggered by burning people to death. They bud asexually by immersing themselves in fires in which hundreds of people have died. And they're extremely social creatures despite their sadism, longing for each others' company to the point that Vandal Savage believes the Burning Martian he fought hundreds of thousands of years ago actively let him kill it because it was lonely and depressed after being stranded on Earth. So even if it was cultural, they'll want there to be more of themselves, and that requires killing people horrificially.

Does Metroid's Phazon have DNA?

Bit early to be asking stuff regarding DELICIOUS CANDY but I might as well get ready to curb my enthusiasm.
>>
>>50299636
Phazon itself doesn't I don't think? It's basically an intelligent energy/chemical though. It's easy enough to corrupt yourself with it and produce it naturally if you want it.

Mix it with Metroid, Chozo, and X-parasite DNA for a good time. Become Samus.
>>
>>50299648
Reminder:

Feather pubes.
>>
>>50299427
J'on looked at Superman's build, thought it was cool but needed more powers. So he tacked on an entire extra character's worth of powers in exchange for an even worse weakness. I'm just amazed he didn't end up as a space cop, abusing the complete lack of atmosphere in space to be invincible.
>>50299421
Young Justice they don't cover which explanation for the weakness is canon. But it seems to at least partially be that fire actively weakens martians instead of just terrifying them, which points away from burning.
>>
>>50299636

>>
>>50299636
It's more accurate to say that Phazon is DNA. Maybe not literally, I doubt it's made of ribo-nucleic acids, but it fits the same general criteria of being a self-replicating organic molecule that carries information, including genetic.
>>

Wait, can we choose that as our theme?

Not at all. While Samus's characterization is relatively limited (at least, in the good games), the general sense with her is a vaguely melancholy one just because she spends so much time alone. Add that together with the manga's portrayal of her having lost her family twice over (once when Ridley killed her birth parents, once when Mother Brain betrayed the Chozo) and it's easy to think that she's probably kind of lonely gal. The fact that she emotionally bonds to cute tiny animals easily doesn't do anything to hurt that characterization. She could do with a brother or sister to rely on.

Related: Do you people prefer imoutos or onee-chans?
>>
>>50300012
I have a soft spot for onees.
>>
>>50300002
I'm just thinking 5th Stage could be based on either Buddha or some type of skeletal fallen angel or demon.
>>
>>50300012
Again, why not both?
>>
>>50300012
I prefer to be the onee to the imoutos.
>>
>>50300020
That'd be kinda cool yeah.
>>
>>50299980
She's honestly a pretty hopeless person, in a sense. There's nothing left for her but to just keep hunting down Metroids and Space Pirates.
>>
>>50299948
Huh. Imouto Samus and pair her off with my Gardevoir bodyguard. That way I get two loyal bodyguards, I make them both happy, and I'm free to slut it up across the multiverse.

Good plan or great plan?
