I was once beat around the head and neck with a cane for sucking at bridge. I mean, not that hard, great-grandma had a lot more enthusiasm than arm-strength by that point, but it was still a fairly memorable experience for a seven year old.

She settled for teaching me Cribbage instead.

I do still play 500, though.

My wife plays Bridge. So far, it's the one Traditional Game I cannot wrap my head around to save my fucking life.
