Setting is pretty binormative. Only liking one is essentially seen as being kind of picky when you're young, unmarried and have the time to fool around, but being picky isn't necessarily bad.

Marriage is a legal thing people to do establish families so there's no real gay marriage or anything. You don't fall in love with a person first and then marry them, your family introduces you to a single person from another family, you two hang out for a couple days, and then decide whether or not this works for both of you. If love develops from the union, it's just a sign of a good marriage. Extramarital pregnancies are still a pretty big scandal, so most people who have lovers outside of their marriage tend to go for the same sex.

As for issues like transgenderism, nobody gives a shit if you wanna be called Diane and wear a dress and be treated like a woman, but you're still considered a man for the sake of marrying you off to another family.
