Oddly enough, the characters I thought would be the cringiest in execution are the best ones.

I thought Genji would be shadow the edgehog revengeance edition. Turn out he's the funniest and most chillaxed dude in the game. He pulls off the 'enlightened as fuck' thing better than the actual enlightened as fuck character.

Winston is also extremely enjoyable. He's boring as hell to play but he's probably the most likable character.

You can really tell that certain characters were created at the inception of the project and therefore have rich backstories and enjoyable, human characterizations... whereas others, like Mei and D.va and the like, exist purely to pander to a certain group of people.

Originality? Definitely not. Quality? Absolutely.

It's a sci-fi shooter with a huge cast. There's no in-game plot beyond "fight and complete objectives", so they don't need a deep or impactful plot. The characters are designed with preexisting archetypes and tropes in mind, but the execution is well done. Each character's design is good and each character's personality is distinct. The setting is a fun sci-fi/mysticism/adventure romp with just enough touches of darker plotlines to make it mildly interesting. That's all Blizzard was aiming for and they hit the mark exactly.

You are literally the PLATs I was just describing. The thing is her kit is situational, only good on certain maps, and then only at certain points.

things to keep in mind with Symm, her ult charge is crazy fast, you only need to land a handful of bowlingballs, even post patch to get a telly up. Plenty of times I have gotten ult charges off of only two right clicks.

Another thing to consider is her ramp-up damage, that maxes out around 120dps. You can charge it on ice walls and barriers, as well as on invul characters (besides zarya bubbles) and to put 120 dps into perspective, thats more than genji's ult, which does 120 per swing, and can swing once ever 1.1 seconds. A flank Symm is a full retard tilt move, but ive gotten trips on squishy characters that weren't paying attention.

She isnt good, but at my level, she is far from useless. Lets the Mercy save her ult for big rezes since she knows a telle is up for the single deaths too.

Being 'Lawful' can be being constrained by anything. For instance, Hanzo I would call Lawful Neutral. In his case, his honor is his 'law'. Even if he WANTS to just cry and hug Genji and say he's sorry, his honor would never allow it. He has to make amends in a way that doesn't clash with his honor.

Symmetra also comes to mind. She's very loyal to Vishkar, even despite her own occasional doubts. Actual laws are... of less importance. In contrast, Lucio bristles at attempts to control him, actively rebelling against those who attempt to stifle him in any way. Chaotic.

Like I said, I wouldn't say Winston is outright Chaotic, just Neutral Good. Most people in the world are actually just neutral, mind. Common misconception of the D&D alignment system is that the neutrals are boring, but honestly it's just normal.

Basically, he didn't reactivate Overwatch previously not because he felt bound by that law, but purely out of concern for the repercussions. And his desire to do Good eventually outweighed that concern.

Lucio - Chaotic Good. Upstanding guy who does whatever he can to help the people.
Symettra - Lawful Nuetral. Basically a near brainwashed agent of a mega-corp who blindly did whatever asked of them without question, but she did eventually start questioning it.
Zenyatta - Lawful Good. Literally a Robo-Monk.

I'd say Sombra is Chaotic Neutral with evil leanings, though I guess it depends on your interpretation. She doesn't seem to do things that are unnecessarily harmful to achieve her goals when another option is available. Sure, you could blame this on her wanting to be subtle or being lazy or just wanting to look cooler, but the fact remains she could've just blown up every nuclear power plant in Mexico by hacking them rather than starting a popular revolt by leaking emails in order to take Lumerico down. And her goal's not particularly evil, she just wants to find out about the weird global conspiracy thing. Granted, she may or may not decide to take it over once she's found out who's in charge, but still.
