I like Generic Universal Monsters a lot for this.

Relatively safe spooks, an extra life option early on and an immunity to poison, disease, aging, dehydration and starvation.

Lot of the other options are pretty fun as well.

Changelog:
Filled in the item section (Only goes up to 400 now.)
Leanbox can now set up communications infrastructure ridiculously well.
Hard Drive Divinity uses Shares instead of Stamina on account of V2 using that mechanic, and me liking it better than the previous games' Stamina usage.

Man of the Spiral, if you're still online.
You could, in theory, break into Autochithon's private dimension, though it would take a while due to the Seals that were put in place, but then the Alchemicals eventually break them to try to invade anyway so you could just wait.
After that you head to Auto-bot's World Body, do somethings for him(Like beat his Cancer into submission, it can't be killed), then go find his Fetich soul and ask a favor.

It would take a bit of cajoling since Auto-bot doesn't trust easily, not after how many times he's been burned, but it can be done.

J: Wait, wait, who are all these extra people?
> "I took the liberty of hiring you some more help. It is a war after all."
J: But... they're all...
> "Welcome to Project Valkyrie, an experimental unit testing the capabilities of a mostly all-female unit in the field during a crisis scenario."
J: You've turned this into a harem anime, haven't you?
> "I don't know what you're talking about. Now, go meet your commanding officer. She's /very/ interested in getting to know you better."
J: *Multidimensional curse words*
> "You're welcome!"

Story Time:

Don't look at me like that, I didn't ask for this. All I wanted to do was kick Hitler in the nuts a few dozen times and learn how to build and pilot giant, dissed-powered tanks. I mean, I knew it was going to come with all the horrors of war, but after Fallout and Imawabi No Dakini I was developing a thick skin to blood and battle. Besides, my interference could turn things for the better, maybe even prevent a lot of destruction. It was that last twist at the end that really got to me.

Anyone familiar with Jade Cocoon at all? The Silk Farm says you can't put in anything that's intelligent and you can't lobotomize them so they're not intelligent, but what if there wasn't anything to lobotomize? Clones can be grown without any sort of intellect, the manor in SMT summons monsters without any consciousness to begin with, and there's other methods like using E.V.O. to evolve something into a beast. So are those methods okay or is the Silk Farm not worth it?

Project Valkyrie was exactly what the Coordinator had promised. It was an a unit consisting mostly of females designed to test how they could hold up during the stresses of war. There hadn't been time to train an entirely female unit before D-Day, so a number of men had been added to fill in gaps. Mostly in support roles, though several pilots and soldier squads were also male. Still, I felt outnumbered in a way that had nothing to do with the Germans lining the shore as we sat hunkered down in the landing boats.

As one of the few members of the unit capable of completely rebuilding AFWs in the field, I was assigned to help crew Captain Silke's Mythic. The less experienced crews were placed closer to the battlefield. It made sense, in a cold, calculating sort of way. But as the voice crackling over the radio explained our strategy for the day, I came to understand that Major Lina was just such a woman. Our unit was smaller than most, but given a larger compliment of the newly developed American AFWs to help make up for that. The wide variety of those issued only served to accent how experimental Project Valkyrie really was.

Without spending hours pouring over all the details, taking the beach itself proved complicated. Yamato hit the field and immediately caused problems with his necromanctic tendencies. It frightened our own forces as much as the Germans to see the dead shamble back up and continue charging. We still managed to create a foothold on our section of the beach, in the end, but Yamato was told not to use those powers again in general battle.

It was a Punishment Jump for me, so the Coordinator thought it would be amusing to force me to take Sunday Best, then force Raven to wear me. The casual look was a nice, if emo-ish, style dress, but the battle mode was mostly a fishnet stocking body suit with plates of armor strapped at the shoulders and arms.

I had very little to do with concocting battle strategy, despite all the time I spent around Major Lina. I was the de factor Head Mechanic and she was always especially interested in getting details from me, personally. I was uncomfortable with all the attention, considering her personality, especially when she dropped hints that it could very easily turn unprofessional in nature. It did not help that two of the pilots and a squad leader waded into the fray, each of them urged on by my dedicated assistant and sassy gay black brother in arms, Jerald.

Raven, Wakana, and Yamato seemed content to watch the show unfold this time around, laughing and poking fun at me during our small windows of down time inside the Warehouse.

The war progressed steadily, but our unit performed no major heroics worthy of note until near the end of the war. I “intercepted” a vital piece of information about the location of Hitler and his secret underground bunker from a German courier found dead in the field. With this knowledge in hand, Major Lina wanted to strike a decisive blow to the German morale and assembled a small task force to sneak behind enemy lines to capture the dictator.

I was brought along because of my heavily Germanic looks and ability to speak the language fluently. Captain Silke and Olivia were also sent along, both able to pass for young men given a little disguising. Neither were very flattered by the roundabout mention of their lack of assets. I also insisted that Yamato and Raven came along, the former to act as another male officer and the latter because of her impressive stealth skills.

The five of us set out for Berlin, racing to reach it ahead of the Russian Forces. We made it just as the first shells were starting to fall on the city. We used the chaos as cover to infiltrate, only to have several shells land nearby. I woke up the next morning in a make-shift German triage tent among the dying, the screaming, and so much blood. The gash on my forehead was deep, but was just a flesh wound. Raven has taken a few pieces of shrapnel to the left shoulder, while Silke was sporting a patch over one eye and Olivia had a broken leg. Yamato was the only one of us to come out with just scrapes and bruises.

Getting out of the medical tent proved to be less difficult than I had assumed. Everyone was far too busy to pay much attention to those still able to move under their own power. A little bit of healing magic fixed up the worst of the damage. Silke's eye was beyond saving, but at least we could stop the pain. For some reasons, she maintained an impressive scar that ran from the middle of her forehead, over her eye, and ended in the middle of her cheek. I have no idea why the magic left her with a scar but we had very little time for questions.

Yamato was given full leave to “have fun”, in part as a distraction while we hunted for the bunker. Finding Hitler and Eva and sneaking them back out of town proved to be almost too easy once Raven and I flexed our magical powers a bit. Major Lina was less than thrilled at us having left Yamato behind, but given the radio chatter everyone was picking up from Berlin, the lovable necromancer dog spirit was still tearing armies on both sides of the conflict several new anuses.

He rejoined us a few weeks later, looking extremely pleased with himself. I yelled at him a bit to take it down a few notches, but I couldn't stay mad at him. His puppy dog eyes were a force to be envied across universes.

See, I'm undecided on if this option is worth it for me.

Like, the fact that there's no telling how long it'll take for you to come back, potentially years at the extreme end, is kind of a deal-killer, and the "dread rituals" needed for you to come back faster send up red flags for a good person like me.

After the war in Europe was mostly solved, Project Valkyrie received fresh troops, a dozen or so more AFWs, and then was shipped off to Japan to take part in Operation Downfall. It was a bloody, brutal conflict, but Major Lina had a flare of tactics like no other. She knew our capabilities better than we did and used all of us to our maximum advantage. Surprisingly, she didn't ask too many questions about our extradimensional abilities, just rolled them into her strategy. Yamato was especially encouraged to flex his powers as the losses on all sides mounted.

Raven and I were mostly benched, as our teleportation and healing abilities were more useful on the back lines. My own mechanical expertise was key in keeping our AFWs functions after weeks of punishing battle. The Harem anime did get put on hold during our time in Japan. Just imagine how intense the fighting has to be for that to be the case. None of us had the additional energy to waste of shenanigans during our months there. Even Major Lina could be seen in the mechanics bay most nights, adding her own skills with a wrench wherever they were needed.

In the end, we were not able to prevent the stalemate I knew history had in store. Japan was divided into North and South. Soldiers on all sides gratefully took the time to set down their weapons for a moment and laugh again. Project Valkyrie was awarded a number of honors for bravery, valor, and unexpected skill where others faltered.

Most of us took the chance to retire from the unit, letting fresh faces slip into the spots of honor. Raven, Wakana, and I retired from combat back to the US, founding our own AFW research and development company. The American military was still throwing cash at anyone capable of developing new innovations on the technology and, believe me, I had a number of them. Yamato stayed in the military as a "Specialist", which meant the military at large knew of his necromantic talents and had no interest in letting him off the battlefield.

Captain Beverly and Silke also stayed with the military, but shifted into non-combat roles. Beverly turned out to make a highly capable intelligence officer and Silke settled on training Pilots. Both seemed quite happy with their new roles. We still talk occasionally and they visit on holidays. Jerald was given a cushy position in my new company, but turned it down to work on the floor as Head of Assembly. His practical jokes are all but legendary. He has been banned from the Christmas Party though, after that fiasco last year.

Major Lina? Oh, she stuck around. Got a degree in business and is now applying her skills at tactics to accounting and public relations, neither of which I excel at. She's the face of the Company while I'm the brain. She is /quite/ happy at the amount of time we get to spend together now. Late nights and long business trips.

That's all I'm going to say about that.

In the end, Major Lina decided to join our group. For how long is uncertain, but she makes a nice addition. At the very least she manages to keep Yamato and me in line.

Actually, I was thinking of buying out that Irish Pub Archer and the gang always drink at and using /that/ as the cover. I may open up a regular Wash and Fold across the street and make them all think that's where the real spy agency is set up though.

Because if you don't go into Archer and do things like that, you're doing the Jump wrong.
>>
>>50234868
Eh. Maybe? I feel like that'd have to be a CPU Only drawback, and I don't really like those.
>>
>>50235041
I guess because I took the undead background I read it as being able to come back by merit of only being slightly deader than I was before but not quite dead enough to end the chain.

The "wank" part of powerwanking is the bit where you houserule, misinterpret or go against the spirit of a perk which I don't really think I'm doing here.

As I see it it's a relatively limited (as you have to wait to come back and could more easily be destroyed for that time) but appropriately fluffed extra life perk. I mean if the jumpmaker thinks I've gotten the wrong end of the stick and the perk really does leave you more than mostly dead then I'd love to hear it as I'd probably retcon the build.

>>50235091
Difficult to say really. Usually a few years between sequel and original but the Universal monster movies quite often had the sequel set almost immediately after the original.

Bride of Frankenstein more or less has the monster instantly popping up and choking a dude.

Probably varies.

Nyx isn't canon per se, he's suggested in some books and negated in others, and a lot of the books give his powers to Luna. Basically he's either an idea they had but then abandoned, or one guy wrote about him in one book and nobody else agreed with him so they decided he didn't exist.
>>
>>50235452
A) the guy calling you a wanker is bait. B) pretty sure off of his previous patterns that he's calling you a wanker for daring to say that the undead are immune to all those things. You know, the things that are only concerns for living beings.

Nyx is definitely weird.

For those that don't know, Nyx's story is basically that his sisters tried to seduce him so he'd go over to their side (pulling a Luna basically), and when that failed they basically drove him insane, lobotomized him, then bound him to the loom to serve his function without being able to rat them out. Now he fucks fate up sometimes out of blind insanity.

But only one book involves him and most others contradict it so nobody has to let that be canon unless you really want to.

So, in place of studying for exams, I'm going to start working on my next jump.

Now, when I posted the WIP before, some discussion led to me deciding to split the DC Mystic jump in half. The question is, should I make the Occult half a Justice League Dark jump or a more general DC Occult one?

Thoughts?
>>
>>50236882
JLD sounds good, mane.

Could you explain exactly what the differences would be between Generic DC Occult and JLD, though? Is JLD not already that?
>>
>>50236910
JLD is only new 52 and is nowhere near close to covering all of DC's magic shit. So it'll be easier to have a more cohesive jump, but there'll be a ton of stuff from the greater mystic side of DC that won't really be offered or represented.
>>
>>50236973
Ah. In that case, I'd rather have a more cohesive jump than something that dips into everything, senpai.
>>
>>50236882
A more general occult one would be my preference, that is what the occult options in the WIP looked like anyway.
>>
>>50236864

>>50236882
JLD sounds my style.
>>
>>50236973
Yeah, I would prefer specific over General. Maybe an option to put you in Pre-New52 DC, for people that just want to muck around with Plots and Characters from that setting? Up until we get a proper Jump for that part of DC (if we get one at all)?

It wasn't the /full/ Starheart. That would be crazy powerful, since that's essentially an entire universe's worth of magic and can put you on par with Skyfathers if you can control it. But yeah, I had offered a "Starheart Shard".

I guess I could do both. JLD could focus on New 52 since a lot of things are significantly different there. The Occult jump could focus more on the big crossovers of the past like Books of Magic, Day of Vengeance, that sort of thing.

I'm sure there's more than enough content to make then distinct. If the thread is cool with it.

So, this was an...interesting ten years. After I got situated, I decided to sign up with the Italian navy as a explorer/colonist carrier, finding sites for colonization, and, upon returning to Italy and coming back, leaving the colonists there to found the colony. We scouted out a couple sites in America, but the government didn't seem that interested in the New World. They re-assigned me to their colonial assets in Africa, but that didn't turn out too well. The colonies would always get burned down, and the colonists chased off or killed. Apparently, niggers don't like it when white men come steal all their land, place them in chains, and ship them off to far away continents. Who knew?

I was reassigned almost immediately after the fourth attempt, and told to go to Asia. Italy's attempts at colonization there went well. All too well. Towns flying the Italian flag were popping up all over, with me responsible for carrying most of the colonists there. This made the other major colonial player in the Asia region more then a little antsy and paranoid. The fucking British Empire.

Soon enough, the tension had reached a boiling point. Then, there was an incident in India. Some dumbass Italian captain thought it would be a good idea to take his men out for a night on the town. One of the sailors started a fight in the pub, which evolved into a riot, that ended with half the town burned down, a lot of its population dead, and enough survivors were left to let everyone know who was responsible.

Almost over night, the world exploded into war. We were at a port in Italy when the first shots were fired. The British Army had invaded and conquered the town of Como, and were splitting up to take over other towns in the region. The army was sent out to repel the invaders, and I had no doubt to whether they would succeed. I had been feeding upgrades to the Italian government for years, so by this point, the army had rifled muskets. We were charged with ferrying supplies and ammunition where it was needed. I would have loved to see it through to the end but we left before the war could end.

I think generic would be the way to go. It would let the origins and perks be based on all kinds of magical beings and characters, whereas JLD would have to stick within the bounds of it's own canon, for the most part.

Which one do you think you'll get out first; Occult or Mythic?

It's not /actually/ a generic, though. Unless the other generics that allow you to visit a bland world, you're actually going to a setting with decades of development behind it. There's no reason a generic DC Occult Jump couldn't capture the flavor and history of what it's based on.
>>
>>50238035
Mythic will most likely be the last out. I'll need to catch up on some stuff and reread some stuff before I'm confident enough to get it right.

Yes, the DS one and no.

That reminds me though-is there a canon reason why all 5 magical materials have to be used to build all the most whacky things in Exalted, or is it just a thing Solars do because they can?

>>50238321
Both are great, although Lucifer's a lot more linear as a narrative than Sandman.

Also while Dream is the kind of guy who spends months moping because his ex won't call him back, Lucifer is the kind of guy who breaks into other peoples' homes and holds their family hostage because someone stole his property.

Both.

They all have their strengths and combining those gives the best results if you're not specifically tailoring them to one type of Exalt.

And Solars just want to show off.

Also, it's 6 magical materials. Even if Adamant's not official recognized in Creation.

It's kind of Autocthon's own fault. He could have supported Theion when he proposed Vitriol as an element, and therefore gotten Creation to have six-fold symmetry instead of five-fold symmetry. What does vitriol have to do with adamantium?
>>
>>50238745
Pretty sure that's what he's talking about. From the Ink Monkeys Collection:

>Then there came a terrifying and unforeseen turn of events. As if in response to the sudden annihilation of so many raksha, there was a sudden massive birthing of new unshaped. But these unshaped were different. They were forming under a single cohesive and powerful narrative, which painted them as the predators-in-the-deep, superior monsters, purebred hunters induced for hunting, slaying, and killing. These hannya were things of endless, ravenous appetite. Empowered by the defeat of the raksha hordes, the hannya narrative played upon the failure and defeat of the returning Crusaders, to paint them as weak, victims, and therefore prey. None were safe in this new and predatory age; even the most ancient and powerful of unshaped were constantly hunted by packs of lean, hungry vortices. Those who were unwilling or unable to spend every moment locked in a life-or-death fight for survival were forced to seek refuge in the house of the Primordials. Ever empowered by their status as apex predators, this new generation of unshaped will never leave its hunting stage, as the tale of their all-consuming hunger constantly reinforces itself.

The reason that Adamant isn't considered one of the magical materials is because Creation's numerology is based around there being five of something. Five elements, five Maidens of Fate, five seasons, five castes for each Exalted type, etc. If there had been a sixth element, though, then Creation's metaphysical patterns could have been laid down based around sixes instead of fives, and there would be room for Adamant as a magical material with an Exalted type that considered it their native metal.
>>
>>50238703
Magic version of the Green Lantern main power battery, pieces of it have been used to make magic versions of the Green Lantern rings.

A star heart shard could basically be described as a Green lantern ring that works with magic instead of science and doesn't require recharging. It is a bit more complicated than that but it is a good basic overview.
>>
>>50238812
Ah, I see.

That's just the Hannya though. They're only really hungry Unshaped, not anything close to an Ishvara.

And Creation is safe, because they can't enter. They're Unshaped. So... no reason for anyone but the Fae to worry about.

>>50238830

Nyet. The bit in the Ink Monkeys colletion about the Daystar lists some potential enemies for it too, such as the Namaskratti Giant and Soonandsofoth.

Both are essentially what happens when Raksha try to build a superweapon lifeform to annihilate Creation, like the kaiju in Pacific Rim if they were made out of Unshaped. Both were, well, apparently really incompetantly designed but are billed as Creation-destroying threats because THIS TIME they're gonna be back and its' personal guys

Looking at the generation chamber and perk you have a lot of range in what you could probably do, you may be able to create a slime made of stem cells allowing for an amazing source of biomass and or expermentation data, possibly even great for transplants of organs. You may be able to create some sort of extremely durable Carbon slime as well. Though what I would be interested in is creating a literal Grey Goo. Whether you use Symbiote grade nanomachines or Gunnm ones, if you have a perk like Harder,Better,Faster,Stronger from Blame you could create some scary shit, Nanomachine Slimes that could formulate thier own bodies. Something like pic related.

I can see that being a proper idea as well. However in GHQ it is almost always an emotion so that is what I'm basing my research off from. Kaizar's is Grief/Despair.
>>

Fair enough.
Does Conviction work? It's not necessarily negative, like Sacrifice, but going too far will inevitably bring your death, again like Sacrifice.

It's not Jumper's fault that 80% of ISIS prefers working at VALKYRIE because we're a competent agency like ODIN and defected within a few months. Though he swears to god that if someone doesn't stop leaving powdered donut sugar all over the place he is going to have to start firing people BECAUSE THAT'S HOW YOU GET ANTS, CAROL!

No. Even if it was discounted for 300 it still wouldn't be worth the price. Right now as it is the only thing it's good for alone is unlocking people's spiritual awareness.

You do know that just by having high spiritual power you can awaken people to spiritual awareness right? This is a shortcut if you don't wanna wait the year or so that takes usually. If the person doesn't take the shortcut they can become artificial Fullbringers.
>>

So it's 600 CP for an item that has an effect you can already perform, except it ultimately weakens the person it's used on?

Does Scientist's The Fifth Step perk also make Fullbringers, or is the 'powers unique to their soul' something else?

I'll tell a short version of it at least. I'm at work and phone posting is a pain when it comes to long stories.

Thanks to being Ranma's brother due to drawbacks, shenanigans tended to happen when dear old Mom came for a visit. Which was destressingly often. At one point early in the Jump I was seen by her in my female form, but lied my way out of it by saying that I was Raven's wife. At the time it seemed like such a simple solution. Raven had a male form after all, why not just take advantage of that?

Well, as it turns out, Raven got a little /too/ into the role at times and sometimes let me think dear old mom was around for days longer than she really was just to keep me playing the part of happy waifu. Raven also knows all the fancy acupuncture and could turn off my ability to tolerate hot water with a fancy poke.

It's actually rather funny, looking back on it.

Yes. Both of those would, in fact, provide immunity and resistance respectively. That's only true because as you note, their magic systems use ki/lifeforce to produce magical effects. The latter especially, as all mages have the capacity to resist spiritual attacks by flooding their circuits with prana.

With this in mind, neither Negima's nor SMT's magic "immunities" would provide any resistance, however, because they function using ambient mana and cosmic power.

Anyway. Here's the thing:

Arena protag is gone. Daggerfall protag really did fuck off. We don't know what he did. Battlespire protag went off to have adventures and probably died of old age or mantled the Hun Ding or something. Morrowind protag is immortal because of Corpus and can't die, but he went to Akavir and hangs out with sexy snake bitches all day. Oblivion protag shows up in Skyrim, he became Sheogorath after mantling him.

A fun ten years, this one. I got to fulfill my dreams from so long ago and became a famous youtuber. Given all the charisma and appearance perks I have, it was sorta easy. While I was doing that, I made some pretty good friends I invited to come along. I met the Zaibatsu at a convention, where I beat all of them at a fighting game. I ran into Lethal while I was traveling to another convention and my car broke down outside his house. Near the end, I told them a bit about the whole dimension traveling person hired as entertainment for a god, and mentioned that I got to travel to lots of video game worlds.

They did express concern about what would happen while they were gone, but I told the about the time freeze thing and their concerns seemed mostly mollified. Still, they said they would take a couple months to think about it. Near the time to leave, I received a couple calls from them, saying that they had agreed. I told them to make sure they had everything they needed and where to meet up, and teleported up to the Dahak.

When they arrived at the location and had introduced each other, I teleported them up the Bridge, one of my favorite places on the ship because of its view of the stars. When they were done freaking out, I reminded them of some of the dangers., but that I would be there to protect them. After a quick glance at each other, they re-affirmed their decision. I congratulated them, and escorted them to Deck 20, where everyone else would be waiting at one of the parks, with a couple tables filled with food.

Alright, got the Royalty and Warrior WIP perklines done. Have a looksie

Royally Fine(100, free Royalty): Wow, you’re a hell of a beauty! Maybe it’s just good genes...Your features are pronounced and quite a sight to look at. Men will have beautiful hair and facial features alongside a handsome (and strong, if you so wish) build...while women can either be extremely busty and well-proportioned...even ridiculously so, if you don’t mind having a lot of clothes fit tight in ways that people would thank you for. Speaking of which, you’ve got a knack for clothes that by all means should fall off of you somehow ‘stick’ on by apparently fate and circumstance itself, looking like they’re a single wrong step from busting open or slipping down.. For maximum titillation. Of course. If you’re not a fan of big and bouncy, you can go the opposite and make petite look downright amazing, while still keeping some nice features...perhaps like a certain oni princess’ hips?

Leave a Gorgeous Corpse(200, Royalty): The way you move...you make people jealous of the ones you kill, for they die in the most beautiful of ways. While you may not have training in combat, you’re able to use your beauty and grace in combat to your advantage. Whether it be through distracting and unpredictable posing in combat, using your dancing skills to puppet a combat vehicle, or using capoeira with bladed shoes to flash and stun people while they’re being hacked to death by your quick feet...You can use style and appearances in deadly ways, one way or another.

cont..
>>

Monarch of the Frontier(400, Royalty): You’re not afraid to admit it, you’re not a fighter from the word “go” like a lot of people in endless frontier. However, that doesn’t mean you’re weak or helpless. It just means once you get going, you can show everyone what it means to be a royal ass-kicker! You now have the ability to store up power as the battle goes on, represented in the “Frontier Gauge” you’re vaguely aware of at all points in a fight. Though this power doesn’t affect anything for a while, once at maximum you can burn the entire gauge up to perform a powerful “move” that is strong as if every attack you inflicted during the build-up time hit at once. Though you’ll need to build the gauge up again to do so, you are also adept at knowing what kinds of maneuvers are good for building up meter. For example, a number of weaker and faster strikes combo’d together in succession can build the gauge faster than big strong strikes.

A Heart filled with Light(600, Royalty): Your heart is filled with a blessed light, and because of this you can make impossible things reality with the power of hope and love. This manifests in the forms of “Spirits”, essentially emotion-based ‘spells’ you can bring to bear with the store of spiritual energy(SP) you now have. Specifically, you have the spirits known as “Trust”, “Faith” “Hope”, “Love”,“Rouse”, and “Miracle.” “Trust” is able to heal you and your ally’s wounds miraculously, enough to go from near death to standing and able to fight...at the cost of a small portion of that spiritual energy. “Faith” does the same for all of the allies you can easily reach(about 20-30 feet if you need hard numbers), but burns 3 times as much of the energy as Trust does. “Hope” is able to recover the spiritual power and even Mana of an ally, though it burns more of your energy than it restores, so using it to keep going indefinitely is an impossibility. “Love” can restore someone from on the verge of death to their top condition, with the cost of so much power that only “Hope” or “Trust” could really be used afterwards, and even then only once or twice. “Rouse” can increase someone’s vigor and stamina by as much as “Trust” restores their vitality, allowing them to fight longer without needing a breather. Finally, “Miracle” is a potent spirit that could only be used once a fight and dwindle your entire reserve of SP before you need to rest for the better part of a day once more. Simply put, “Miracle” increases the speed and ferocity of a single person’s power for a short amount of time...approximately 30 seconds. However in that window of time, they can strike their enemies with power sufficient enough to break through enemy defenses almost without fail, hitting them approximately twice as strong as normally and with dreadful accuracy. Let your heart lead your friends to victory...

Hi, completely new to jumpchain here (as in just looked into it yesterday). Went through the FAQ and how to jumpchain, but I'm still not really getting this.

Are there skill checks? Is there some challenge to this, or is it literally just move from one universe to another and spend free points? If its the latter, what exactly is the appeal of this beyond regular CYOA?

I'm not trying to rag on jumpchain, just legit confused as to what I'm supposed to be doing.

I reconnect with people, and usually get super focused on something or things. Like creating an album of new songs while walking around scenic, historic cities or centers of culture. Taking on a disciple, or being an inspiration for others. Going on long walks and seeing what I can find, adventures big or small. Go on dates, make memorable holiday or birthday celebrations, play videogames or make them. Go fishing or just find a nice, sunny spot with a great overlook and nap. Possibly on a beach in a hammock, enjoying the slow life I lead at times in Catastrophe.

I love when we get classic shit like that. Sure we could already do stuff like that but I prefer the classics.

Can't wait to build the insane level of protection around my heart. Like digitizing it and having it protected by a incredibly insane broekn vide game boss at the end of a video game that can only be played in a single SNES found inside of a non-elucidan high tech fortress maze whose's portal is inside of a dragon and so on.
>>
>>50243122
That's Xenosaga

And don't worry. With how SJ-Chan's made the damn thing you get that and more to the point that the jump's existence outright infringes on other jumps possibly being made. SO MUCH META EFFECT.
>>
>>50243152
>If its the latter, what exactly is the appeal of this beyond regular CYOA?

There isn't one really. They're just CYOAs that are done consecutively with a single character.
>>
>>50243152
>Are there skill checks?
If you want there to be.

>Is there some challenge to this,
If you want there to be

>or is it literally just move from one universe to another and spend free points?
If you want it to be.

>If its the latter, what exactly is the appeal of this beyond regular CYOA?
The CYOAs are interconnected, allowing you to chain together a longer journey / story. The formatting of them is largely the same, with some variance, so its easy to build once you get the hang of it. There are hundreds of IPs we have jumps for, so you can see and play with lots of toys.

Its a single player imagination game. Some use it as a writing prompt. Others use it as a thought experiment. People tinker however it suits them for the most part.

It's really free form and its on you, in terms of honesty, did you roll at 20, are you rolling at all. If that appeals to you, it's tons of fun. I've been doing it since it started in general years ago and, highs and lows, I still find it enjoyable.
>>
>>50243152
>Are there skill checks?

>laughing_Steve_Rogers.gif
>>
Which Jump(s) offer a Perk that causes people to ignore any peculiar, supernatural appearance you might be possess?
>>
>>50243152
It's mostly a single player writing/imagination exercise. The challenge is what you make for yourself, what the universe itself offers, and what Drawbacks you pick up. There are no 'skill checks', though many of us roll dice to see how successful a planned action might be.

Essentially, there is little difference between what we do and what normal CYOA do, save for the fact that we play a single character through all universes.
>>
>>50243247
I will forever chuckle at and feel sad for the guy who had a break down in thread when no one could tell him how many 9th level spells he would get in the D&D jump. I've seen some hard core rules vaporlock before, but that one was top tier.
>>
>>50243267

So it's more for writing exercises? Sweet, that makes a lot more sense, I was viewing it through the lens of a traditional system, but now it's time to go write some time police shenanigans.
>>
>>50243152

A regular CYOA has you stuck in one set of circumstances, with a one-time purchase deciding pretty much what your life is like from the point of the CYOA on

Since this is a cumulative CYOA, it's pretty much a 'template' for CYOAs that are meant to be compliant with one another and allow you to do the purchases continually from decade to decade

The appeal is in combining the mechanics and purchases of different CYOA into new things, as well as the general world-hopping narrative with a mix of empowerment narrative (sorta reincarnation as well)
Which if fanfiction sections and isekai popularity anywhere tell me, is a recipe for success
The easiest thing to 'concretely' do with jumpchain is either write or daydream with it, as it's more or less a really structured well-supported way of self-insert power fantasy
>>
>>50243152
In practice their is very little difference between /jc/ and /cyoa/. From what I heard, /jc/ started their own thread to get away from the emphasis on lewd conversations that can usually be found in /cyoa/.

It's less that and more that they are obsessed with their precious "thread space", despite the fact they can just make a new thread, and that most of their existing thread-space is used up trying to waifu the guys who make CYOAs

Fuck's sake. Seriously, would anyone mind if we just told them to fuck off and make our own versions of Xenosaga and Xenogears? I don't understand why we're letting two people who only ever post here when posting jumps and only ever cause arguments take two amazing properties and fuck it up so bad when they have their own goddamn site.
>>
Question, can Bass still be fought as a bonus boss even if you take the Protomen drawback?

>>
>>50243588

>>
>>50243577
Nah. He doesn't appear anywhere in the Protomen albums, and the artists said they don't like him, so Bass wouldn't exist in that timeline.
>>
>>50243576
Since when is that Adarx guy making the jump? Was this something that came up on the SB site?
>>
>>50243627
I doubt it. Some people like the jumpmakers they've gone after in the past. Not sure if that's the case for SJ chan.
>>
>>50243648
Eh, there's some people that don't MIND SJ-Chan, and those people probably have the patience of Siddharta.
>>
>>50243636
Most of the things related to these SB folks are from SB's board drama, but since apparently SJ-Chan and Abraxes have insisted their jumps are made for /tg/, it leaks over when people start crossing over to SB to figure out what's happening, since asking here rarely works when they reply regularly on SB.
>>
>>50243576

Abraxes posted after Babylon left once or twice, and was quickly yelled out of the room, so to speak. Back then people were actually sad/angry that Babylon left, so naturally they did not respond well when he showed up.

Last time SJ posted a jump very few people bitched at them. Quit trying to force it, you're being painfully transparent.
>>
>>50243745
You're kidding right? There were still at least two arguments over the last jump they made. Stop trying to undersell things to support your idol.
>>
>>50243689
>Never seen them post
Here's one of the big problems. They want their jumps on our drive but don't want to be bothered answering any questions after it's up here. They'll just go hide back at SB and do everything over there, while making us put up with shit from people who aren't part of the community.
>>
>>50243742
AbraxesAnon and Adarx are two different people. The former is responsible for the Highlander Fiasco and barely even posts at SB, while the latter tried to replace Babylon 5 and blatantly powerwanks in public.

Having no purpose or direction in life after hitting a pretty good spot of life. Doing something to avoid doing nothing at all. Doesn't really help they're approaching 100 jumps and over a thousand years with no chain companions. Plenty of friends, none that come along for the ride. It's a mid life crisis if they still had something like a lifespan.

>>50240924
Problems of immortality. Most in your age bracket have their own bag of issues, and often very jaded. Not very motivated either, compared to the brighter stars in some settings. Crippling loneliness also plays a part. Not to mention seeing parts of your own issues in others kills it. Impromptu introspection is off putting on dates.

>>50241043
Given those who take appearance, harem, and social perks stack them? Happens anyhow.

Given how much they shifted, changed, expanded, and shrunk the vast majority of them qualify. Probably the memorable mention was being a Nazi in Indiana Jones and turning everyone into Aryans while riding around in tricked out Reichmobiles loaded with riches through a temple while throwing franks at the professor. You can't gas them if they're all Aryans, and the us against them narrative falls flat.

>>50241665
Thats my Jumper's problem in a nutshell. They make friends and great memories, then have to pack up the bags and go. Because they don't have a stay or go home option in this chain. They succeeded. It is utterly insane, and the fact that the dev team's budget was cut and so most of Disk Two is a slideshow instead of actual gameplay or even cutscenes doesn't make it any easier to understand. I figured, in the few times I took those, that I just disappeared at the end of the earlier Jump. That comes mostly from always picking Drop-In unless individual Jump rules put me at needing a different origin for something I need. Phrasing--can easily bait others into making sexual innuendoes
Cultural References--vast knowledge of trivia, find and understand references
Kick-Ass Accountant--excellent at paperwork and accounting genius
Engineering--yet another engineering perk because fuck yeah
Mad Biologist--mad biology skillz, plus cloning and abominating
>Gear
Tactlenecks--set of black turtlenecks
A Tonne of Cocaine--there's no way I can get in trouble with this.
Cyborg Friend--Import Chartreuse as kickass cyborg
>Drawbacks
Blown Cover--someone always screws up my cover/stealth like a dick
Bullet Magnet--get shot a lot. Even more than Brett.

Holy shit these guys are all...just...terrible. Terrible spies, terrible drones, terrible...people. Gods. Anyway. Various regeneration perks keep me from getting hurt via the bullet magnet drawback, or just a bunch of assholes with guns. Also go ahead and set up a cocaine network before the whole crap with the FBI/CIA/WGC so we can get rid of it pretty quickly and without half of Archer VICE happening. Also, Chartreuse enjoys having an in-between form that's not her original magic robot or any subsequent purely organic forms. Archer makes a bit of fun of me for sticking with using my heavily-tricked-out Collapsi-bow as my primary weapon, with a pair of M1911's as backups.

Honestly unless you're nowhere near started with a draft, just post them up. Even if the claim is overlapped, a lot of the times you might have an idea the other maker didn't, and collaborating makes things easier (generally) anyways.

>>
>>50244437

>>
>>50244548
SCP has memes that can do crazy shit.
Memetic languages that make incapable of violence and thinking/speaking/writing any other language.

Memes that can kill you instantly. Memes that can make you kill other people.

Memes that can make you better at math, then it kills you.

What's scarier than them, though, are the anti-memes. Things you can't remember, like SCP-055.
Like the spiders the size of skyscrapers, and the maggots that live every-fucking-where.
>>

>>
>>50244631
There's one in the SCP jump itself, it auto-filters any memetics or cognitohazards before you're even exposed to them.

Alternately, if you go by the site's official stance on how memetics work, if you were sufficiently far enough away from humanity, mentally speaking, it could offer some level of protection, possibly total immunity to some memes. Memes are like viruses made of information in the SCP setting.

They're the keys to the locks in your brain, which are there from a combination of evolution and societal pressures and standards.

Doesn't mean it can't kill you though, if it's alive. Just means it won't break your brain.
>>
>>50244656
>Lost in Space
I liked that movie. Remember watching it when I was...either in middle school or early high. Probably middle. The robot was cool. It does look a bit barren, but it's a start in any case, keep us up to date with how it goes and if you need any help.

>>
>>50244179

I'm going to pop into the thread to answer this one question if you're still here--

I personally do not know the Awakening Jumpmaker, so I can't really coordinate with them on this, but this is an interesting question.

I would probably assume that Naga blood would make people think you're a royal because of the mark of the exalt (and in Fe4 your holy blood manifests marks on your body, which is what the Mark of the Exalt was probably inspired by)

You'd retain your bonuses, obviously. And maybe if you had something of Naga's or had something she'd bless then you wouldn't have to go through the Awakening rite to get it's power.

(I am unsure if you'd need major holy naga blood for that, however.)

But if the Awakening Jumpmaker is still here, then they have the final say on what happens for sure.
>>
>>50244791
Well, it would only happen if you were directly exposed, and not all memes instakill.
And the Foundation has developed 'memetic inoculations' to combat them, so you could see about getting a hold of some of their shit. They deal with this shit every day, and can't have researchers with years of rare, specialized knowledge just going cuckoo.

And if you get the perk, you're completely safe from any memetics killing you.

Look at it like this:
If there's a lion out there that drives people who look at completely insane, or makes their heart stop, that wouldn't affect you. The perk would block it out. But it's still a fucking lion, man. They're dangerous.
>>
How does Kilowog compare to the more famous Green Lantern Ring-users like Hal Jordan?
>>
>>50244916
There is a reason he runs Green Lantern Boot Camp and is a dependable, and often called upon figure.

IE:He's strong, but not so strong he constantly jobs to show how tough the bad guy is.
>>
>>50244916
He can put up a fight. He's somewhere in the upper top ten.
>>
>>50244916
Most people here will tell you he's useless. And compared to Hal Suetastic Jordan, he might be a bit.

But Kilowog's feats (in the comics) include lifting an aircraft carrier (which even the smaller Wasp-class carriers weigh about 40,000 tons), pulling a medical ship out of a black hole with nothing but his willpower, containing the souls of his entire species within his Ring's light until he could find an uninhabited planet for them to start putting together new bodies for everyone, and... Shit I need to double-check a few scans, one second.
>>
>>50244916
He is among the stronger lanterns, basically one rung below Hal Jordan and the like.
>>
>>50244808
I may be wrong here, but I'm assuming that the exalt line from Awakening are have the Naga bloodline. Mostly because the FE and Falchion are supposed to be Naga's claws.

>Awakening rite
Not sure what this is. I'm guessing its a generic power up thing? Maybe the being possessed by your dragon thing you mentioned?

I can probably grab Falchion from shadow dragon if I really need an artifact. Or get the book of naga in setting. Depends on the chronology of the settings.

Be interesting to take the Avatar drawback. Grima's eyes on one hand, Exalt mark on the other.

Since >>50244916 has reminded me of the subject I need to ask, what kind of bullshit are the canon rings capable of to warrant a restricting a 1000cp item with no discount in comics DC?
>>
What would happen if I made a jump of the Green Lantern Movie? You know which one. Thoughts?
>>
>>50244980
In Awakening, in order to harness the true power of Falchion, one must undergo a ritual called the Awakening (hence the title), which involves them being baptized (or incinerated if found unworthy) in Naga's flames.

As for the Avatar drawback, that would probably remove the threat of Grima right then and there. The bloodline has to be pure, and with the holy blood of Naga flowing through you...

Green Lantern Corps: Recharge

Issue #2
>>
>>50245010
Look at the examples given for just Kilowog above. Not look at the sorts of powerlevels offered by the other perks.

Now realise the lantern ring is massively underpriced and out of balance already, even at 1000cp undiscounted.
>>
>>50245010
Hal reconstructed his destroyed home town and repopulated it with clones of everyone he knew. Plus, as stated here >>50244975, Kilowog has pulled off some insane feats of his own.
>>
>>50245015
I would prefer a jump focused entirely on the comics lantern corps.

The Mortal perks allow you to compete by making you some weird Half Luthor Half Batman guy. But the actual superpowers don't exactly stack up.

>>50245017
Now now, all Loptyr needed was Major Loptyr blood to posses Julius despite his minor Fala bloodline, so maybe it was a similar situation with the Avatar.

You could still troll Grima if you hid your Naga markings from him.
>>
>>50245120
>opens mouth
>thinks

Maybe? Lissa canonically didn't get a mark, so maybe I can fanwank my mark as not showing up until after the failed first possession?

And actually, this isn't that much of an issue, as if I can't be possessed, then future me isn't either, and thus isn't a problem.

Basically, no sacrifice is necessary. I think.

>>50245169
Oh, cool. In that case I'll get right on this. Just one question, do you know if geneology takes place before, after, or in an altogether alternate timeline from shadow dragon?
>>
>>50245197
Oh, so future!avatar is still a problem? Right. Not good, but not exactly horrible.
>>
was there a jump that gave some kind of personal crest? I mean, I can just make one and run with it, but if there is a jump that gives something a little special it would feel wrong not to take it
>>
>>50245204

Personally I'm of the thinking that they did take place in the same timeline and I wrote the jump with that headcanon in mind, but if someone wants to deviate from it, that's fine by me. It's not an official thing as far as I know, so it's fair game.

So my answer is "maybe? If you want?"
>>

>>
>>50245197
Actually, it was explicitly stated that bloodline purity was a major part of the process. The Avatar's father was actually found unworthy of being Grima's host, despite being the subject of centuries of eugenics for the sole purpose of creating a host for Grima. Adding Naga blood would totally fuck up the process.

>>50245204
>>50245211
Future Avatar, on the other hand...I don't know. It's hinted that Future Avatar willingly became Grima's host, so maybe that was an alternate future in which you didn't have Naga blood? Amnesia is caused by present Grima fucking something up.

Then Avatar joins the shepards, Emm dies, and Luci doesn't save Chrom from the assassins, because she doesn't exist yet.

Validar eventually tracks Avatar down, and redoes the possession thing, and it actually works. Grimatar then kills Chrom.

Grimatar then goes on a murderous rampage, and Naga sends Luci back in time.

Luci arrives the day AFTER Avatar and Chrom meet. Future!Grimatar's arival is a bit uncertain, but lets assume it's after that, as he was following her.

Canon the precedes.

Is that all right?

Because if it is, the first possession fails as intended - for different reasons though.

>>50245340
Amnesia was caused by future Grima trying to possess present Avatar. Future! Avatar had all their memories, which is why people think they joined Grima willingly (along with Grima's own comments). We know that Validar got killed by Chrom and Avatar, right before Grima assumes direct control.

You make an excellent point.

I'm going to have to make a list of tragic villains that I can pull out of villainy in the DCAU. Joker's a lost cause, Riddler and Penguin are corrupt as hell, and honestly most of the villains outside of Gotham are either so small-scale that they can be ignored (as long as they take their meds) or so unforgivable that they're better off with a bullet in the head.

Victor Fries needs help beyond what medical science can give, but should be a piece of cake for a jumper.

Poison Ivy's a goddamn genius but needs some common sense, but odds are, that won't ever help.

Solomon Grundy needs a fucking exorcism.

For that matter, Harvey Dent could theoretically be fixed but he probably doesn't want to be fixed any more than Scarface does.

Harley Quinn on the other hand ... well. DCAU version? Not gonna lie, I might keep a pod for her.
>>

TAS Clayface was the tragic one in the first episode he was in. It depends when in the timeline you end up there, because if you get there fast enough you can do something.

But honestly, for the villains themselves, you're going to need Jumper level science and/or magic to fix them. Nora Fries can probably be fixed with a simple esuna or something, but otherwise... yeah.
>>
>>50245416
Well with the way Gotham loves to shit on everyone who's not an upper class member of society, you really can't blame them for eventually giving up and going full tilt.
>>
>>50245415
I bring up Morgan to prove a point--Morgan could have Naga blood in them (Given how they can be any royal's kid or Tiki's kid, who is Naga's own daughter so that counts as a double dose probably), and they could still be under Grima's influence.

So, why not the Naga-blooded Avatar?
>>
>>50245415
Because time travel. Grima wanted to arrive before the Shepherds got together, where as Lucina wanted to arrive when things started to go wrong.

>>50245416
That's The Batman Clayface. A cop/detective who got tortured and mutated by the Joker and turned into Clayface.

At least no one has expressed interest in making a jump out of the Lucifer sequel series.

>>
>>50245458
Oh yeah, later Clayface loved pulling shit like that. I think that girl stayed independent long enough to become her own person and we had to watch her get brutally absorbed and die.
>>
>>50245458
But if you save Clayface early, she never exists. By that point Clayface has already gone murderously evil.

>>
>>50245739
By being a reality warper yourself.

Anlther option is to get immunities to most of the reality warping effects.
>>
>>50245628
Don't think that's canon. The thing about the One Punch verse is that everyone apparently has some natural limit to how strong they can get, they can raise it with cybernetics and genetic augmentations etc but they all still have a limit. Saitama broke his limiter, though what that means is unclear. He might be as strong as he needs to be or he might have infinite potential thus leading to his training giving him bigger results. Or it could be a humour series and he's as strong as he is because it's funny.

>>
>>50245739
Shaping Defenses from Exalted work wonders. It's too bad we don't have a Solar Jump yet. Integrity Protecting Prana is godlike for such a purpose. I don't remember it's essence cost, but I wonder if a half caste could learn it in Exalted mortals.

There's also a perk in one of the Devil Survivers that prevents getting outright wiped away, but it won't help against creative uses.
Uh
>>
>>50245739
SCP Foundation
There's a perk for making you better at combating reality benders.

>>
>>50245739
If you're willing to jump Lost Odyssey, one of the perks there gives you "immunity" to harmful transformation. Combined with an internal Manton Field from Worm's Package, as well as loads of durability, that'll take care of most of it.

Infernals and more importantly devil tigers do have their own shaping defences, but they're not quite as good as a straight up fuck you.

I'd like to propose a preemptive ban-list for settings that offer too much power to make into jumps:

>God of Highschool
>SMT Post-SMT II
>Dies Irae
>Date A Live
>Sengoku Basara
>Bastard!!!
>Diebuster
>Nobilis
>Scion
>Aberrant
>Psyren
>Malazan: Book of the Fallen
>Second Apocalypse
>Dark Tower
>Preacher
>Spawn
>Saint Seiya
>The rest of Exalted, but especially Solars
>The Culture
>Vampire Hunter D

Basically, we just people of /jc/ need to take a stand against the power-wankers. Not even a single thought of making one of these settings a jump is to be tolerated. If, despite all odds, jumpers for these settings are claimed, we must not allow them into the drive.

On the subject of jumps TO make. With the sequel out I think there's enough material for a Watch_Dogs jump.

>Next week or two is crunch time IRL, so I'm not calling dibs right now, however here's some back of the napkin ideas.

>Backgrounds
://New_User, drop-in skills based on physical infiltration and vigilantism
://Hacktivist, hacking the planet and exposing conspiracy/corruption
://Admin, can create adapt underlying concepts of ctOS and avoid pesky whistleblowers, law enforcement perks if filler is needed
://Blackhat, so many crimes, so little time, skills based on PVP modes could be integrated as well

>Skills
LoS hacking is a must-have, as is digital anonymity and pre-crime

>Items
"Iconic" clothing, respawning drones, cars on demand, and a gun printer

>Drawbacks
+0cp for shared ubisoft setting
Fashion victim
poor fitness and eyesight

face and voice masking in meatspace
everyone else can get away with shooting people for the cause

Yes it's legitimately awful.
Falling through floors, Telephone poles break into dozens of neat even sections when you hit them with cars, trains stop on a dime if you get in front of them. The map is ass backwards and mirrors are outright lies. The actual gameplay leaves a lot to be desired as well.
However it works great as an ethnic/degenerate cleansing game if you're desperate.

Although I bet it would work a lot better as a jump. The setting itself isn't so bad, and the hacking is cool in it's idea if not it's execution.
>>
Speaking of Watchdogs, AoS continues to be shit.

>>50246570
I think it's one of those things where the concept of the setting is kind of neat, but the actual execution of the game/movie/anime/whatever wasn't up to scratch.
>>
>>50246523
I think there might be more in 2, but yeah, I wouldn't do jump continuity with AC or others without permission.

More conservative notion would be limiting it to minor inclusions, IE Abstergo is a huge Pharma company that's into shady shit, but there's no animus or one's who came before

>Oh yeah, alternative setup for backgrounds would take hacking as a given, and define perklines by speciality. Drop-ins would still be hands on guys, but you'd have perks grouped around things like handling hardware or meme magic.

>>50246570
1st game tries to be Person of Interest set in a typical Ubi sandbox. But you have bugs&downgrades, combined with the fact that a Reece expy can't stand on his own as a character (go figure)

Watchdogs 2 shifts to a plot more akin to Mr. Robot, with a look that's equal parts classic cyberpunk and modern hipster. Release date is today, but early impressions and gameplay paint a brighter picture.

Alrighty then I've got a pair of choices ahead of me and I'm looking at it like this. Which one do you guys like?

The original is here...
Hogyoku (Crumbling Orb) [600]:
This small object looks like a small blue sun stored in a many-faced glass case. Perhaps you’ve gotten your hands on a prototype of the original ideal Aizen began to research years ago or perhaps this is something of your own design. Whatever the reasoning, this artifact is composed of a unique substance thought to have been capable of dissolving the boundaries between spiritual beings allowing one race to attain the powers of the other.
In practice this Hogyoku performs the task was said to be made for: granting spiritual awareness to the unaware, unique traits like those of a Hollow to the spiritually away, or enhancing Hollows beyond their current level. It has no other powers than this.
This Hogyoku is incapable of doing this more than once per person.

The new idea from Thread is this...
Hogyoku Treatment [100]: (Thread Idea accredited here to >>50240991)
You've undergone a metamorphosis via an experimental use of the Hogyoku. How this happened is up to you but the results speak for themselves.
The Hogyoku produced an effect that enhanced you, granting 100 additional points for the power supplement for each purchase.

Is this okay guys? Is it too simple and clean?
>>
>>50246753
The latter.
>>
>>50246753
Did you really copy from the SDK wiki Gauntlet?
>>
>>50246753

Besides, anyone who wants the real Hogyoku can probably just steal it, anyway.

>2. Don't be Punchable, this is one of his biggest weaknesses He only has physical attacks If You can turn intangible and still be able to affect the world your in the clear

>3.turn his strength against him it's like 99 percent of The threat he poses, relativistic speed judo via telekinesis While intangible,Becoming a Set of portals that lead directly behind him To make him strike Himself That kind of thing.

Alright then I'll go with this one, thought after some thought, and a few more suggestions from other firends, I'm going to drop it to 50cp per 50 'power points', so you can customize even at the lower levels.

Should I keep the first one as a Drop-In capstone or should I just drop it entirely. If I do drop it what should be the Drop-In Capstone?
>>
>>50247020
Basically I'm asking what you want out of the Items section here but it's poorly worded.
>>
>>50247020
Just drop it.
>>
>>50247020
It doesn't make much sense to have them both and people seem to like the second option better so I'd be in favour of keeping it out and replacing it with something else. Don't know the series so I can't offer any suggestions.

Am interested in an answer to these >>50246802 sorts of questions though. Does seem like you've been taking a fair few lines. Why exactly are you ignoring them?

>Lost in Space (1998)
There really needs to be some sort of hot, big titty milf option / perk in here. She looked amazing in that film.
>>
>>50247062
He's been ignoring them because he thinks they're shitposters. If he'd outright just say that he didn't copy the wiki and everything in the jump was written by him, the matter would be done and concluded. But this policy to ignore "potential shitposting" just means that eventually he's going to build up a "reputation" from a guy that hounds him on it every time.
>>
>>50247078
All someone would have to do is post a few choice lines from the wiki. It's really not that hard, once you start looking at certain pages.

Maybe that's why he doesn't answer? Because he knows he can't prove them wrong.

Honestly, if that's the case, then admitting that you copied a wiki is better than ignoring it and allowing a person to harass you about it every time. Does plagiarism suck? Yeah, it sucks, but sometimes people feel like they need an easy way out, or they feel that it's somehow justified.

What's done is done. Own up to it if it's true. Deny it if it's not. Then move on so you stop giving people more ammo to harass you with. If you're a jumpmaker looking to "make a name for yourself" this isn't how you do it.

Right I'll just answer you two. I did read through the entire fucking Wiki, and the last ninety or so chapters, at one point to word my perks and such correctly, I won't deny that, and again I won't deny that my wording on some things was close to if not on the dot, mostly because I couldn't word them any better myself. If this is a bad thing then I'll take it down and redo it, rewording it might take a while but I'll do it if I've gotta.
>>
>>50247122
Alternate suggestion: have you considered asking someone else to rewrite those perks for you? Granted, this would require you attempting to convey what exactly you want the perk to do, but if you're the proofreader and final say of what goes in I don't think it would be that much of a problem.

We're a community, you know. You can ask for help. Granted, we're an unruly mob of a community that's constantly biting its own throat, but it still counts.

>>
>>50247122
>mostly because I couldn't word them any better myself
If this is the case, then honestly this is where you have a problem. Yes, people have expressed dissatisfaction with the way things are worded, but if you sincerely can't do better than the wiki, and trying is only going to to end up creating a more convoluted mess, then it might just be counterproductive.

You're the jumpmaker, you have to decide these things and explain them, not evade the question so people can hound you for it. If there's criticism, you address it and shoot it down before it can grow. I realize you haven't made many jumps, but this is something you need to learn if you want to avoid "shitposters" as much as possible.
>>
>>50247158
Not all criticism is valid. Blatant bait and character attacks are to be ignored. The fact that none of you seem to be able to do that is why most of the jumpmakers are so stressed out and fragile, because the shitposter can use your naivety and trust to hound you while you feel compelled to feed into it.

Man, at some points you barely change it from the wiki entry at all. It's your jump, have some pride in your work. Or if you can't do more then copy-paste and change some words, at least credit the nutbag you copied from.
>>
>>50247142
>>50247158
Is there a problem with the way it is currently written? Does it not convey the effects of properly?
>>
>>50247163
If criticism is invalid, then immediately say so and declare why. Blatant bait and character attacks are as simple to sum up as "irrelevant". It's still better than to just ignore the issue and let people talk behind your back.

And considering that I give myself more shit as a jumpmaker than anyone else gives me, I don't really feel compelled to feed into anything.
>>
>>50247183
>If criticism is invalid, then immediately say so and declare why.
Oh? So you reply to him each time he says something stupid, giving him the attention he wants and a brand new way to attack you? You don't seem to get that this is just playing into his game.
>>
>>50247185
The moment the first line of criticism that's irrelevant to the quality of the jump is identified, there should be no reason to continually address further lines along the same tangent, that's just inefficiency, and a lack of reading comprehension.

It isn't some sort of formulaic situation where every sentence needs to be individually addressed. I'm pretty sure people aren't robots.
>>
>>50247181
A lot of the perks can be pretty confusing to read. Sentence structure flows real bad and some of them, like a few of the Mibu perks, aren't even clear on what it does for us. Stuff like True Red Eyes and Crimson King gives you detailed stats on what you get but other things like Rare Breed don't, despite it seeming just as important for them to have. Crimson King is very confusingly worded as to whether it's a super mode or not. The items and drawbacks seem to generally be a lot better, fairly certain that's because most of what you'd get from the wiki would go into the perk section.

>>50247197
I think a better way to word it is that you should read every response, but you don't need to adress them all. Even if a line of critique seems irrelevant at first, a later person might word it better or bring up something new but related to it that might make it relevant.
>>
>>50247181
I personally couldn't give less of a shit, but you should be aware that it's considered poor literary form. Like of the "middle school student can't muster the fucks to do his own book report" levels of poor. And even in middle school if you're caught the teacher will give you a big fat F.
>>
>>50247181
You have a tendency to add very bizarre lines of "fluff" that is ultimately pointless. I'll take Shingan from that jump as an example.

A powerful trait that allows one to become one with the environment.
This expands one's awareness to the point that one could be called absolutely aware of the environment though this is not necessarily true. The Shingan, once stripped of its flowery prose, grants perfect awareness of the space within the reach of the user’s aura, starting at a few yards but with effort and training it could encompass a football field before you hit a wall. It can still be increased past that point but you will fight for inches and development will always feel slowed. The limits of this power seem to be intrinsically linked to one’s own reaction times, understanding of the information given, and bodily limits.

The third sentence in this perk apparently negates the first two sentences ("flowery prose"). The second sentence is already a self contradiction to some degree, so up until then it's just a matter of "what added quality does this bring"? The fourth sentence and the fifth make one another feel excessive, because you could have just contracted the two sentences and merged them together to get the same effect of conveying both the method of increase as well as the limitation.

So essentially your perk is really just a single sentence, because your fluff barely conveys anything about the setting, so it's arguably redundant. The problem then is that your perk boils down to "You gain perfect awareness of area X". You described the area well, you described limitations fine, but what about perfect awareness?

Is it UV rays? External energies? Ultrasonic frequencies? Cosmic radiation? Air current movement? Should we assume all, or none? Sure, if a person researches the setting in depth and associates the perk to a character, they could determine the corresponding feat - but for a first time reader it's ambiguous.

>You have a tendency to add very bizarre lines of "fluff" that is ultimately pointless. I'll take Shingan from that jump as an example.
That's just his style, dude. Have you read Mortal Gauntlet? It's rife with what you're describing. For most of it, I just more or less made judgement calls or made up what I thought the perk was supposed to do.
>>
>>50244656
Sounds like fun times, but I'm not sure on the loss condition - how are early jumpers supposed to make sure Earth doesn't wipe itself out if they're ten years deep in blind hyperspace jumps with the Robinsons? Or is it "Keep Humanity OR the Robinsons alive?".

>Sentence structure
Sorry, I'm going to springboard from this, but I completely agree that the arrangement of sentence structure often leads to you shooting yourself in the foot. I'm going to use another perk, Miracle of Birth, from your jump, to point out some things. If you read it you might notice your own typos in the perk.

"Sometimes in the world there are events that can only be called a miracle.
Though miracles aren’t born of sheer coincidence. More often than not true miracles are hiding within the strands of fate, waiting for their time to peek out. Through countless thousands upon thousands of repetitions of give birth to a Miracle of Effort. This essentially can keep you going long after others
give up. Grinding away at your personal style for ages will let you hone something as complex as a defending against a master swordsman into an act of instinct. You will never give up, and your willpower is increased by a decent amount. This doesn’t let you exceed your limits, but you could be on Death’s doorstep and still manage that counter you spent so long perfecting."

Your first two sentences flow into one another fine. Your third sentence however, completely breaks the flow and could have been omitted entirely. Your fourth sentences, as hyperbolic as it is, would have linked to the second better. But then it's only at the fifth sentence where you actually get the first idea of what this perk is supposed to do - "boost your willpower/defense substantially", not "create a miracle" which the first three sentences might have suggested.

The fifth and sixth sentences seem to address different things entirely, but at this point you can still assume that they're just describing different parts of the same perk. Your problem then shows up on the seventh sentence, because by then it's so scattered (since 5 & 6 had only a tentative link at best) that it becomes vague whether all three are effects, or 5 and 6 were only meant to support 7.
>>
>>50247281
Could you repeat that last sentence? I think you missed a word or something.
>>
>>50247253
I'm aware that it's his style, but if his style is convoluted to begin with and he wants to make it less convoluted, then he has to at least recognize what's causing it. If I was to go from this >>50247181, I'd think that he doesn't feel his writing has any issues with clarity/legibility/ease of reading at all.
>>
>>50247281
Decide its importance for yourself and you can make the call. It might not be the easiest read for some folks, but as >>50247253 says, it can still be deciphered and interpreted as it is.

If you feel that the effort to go and change things is worth it, then do it. If not, just leave it be. It evidently made it up to the drive already, and people have done builds for it in any case.
>>
>>50247311
You know, linking a post that admits it basically made up what it thought was right because it couldn't understand his writing is really not the best evidence to support the conclusion that it can be deciphered.
>>
>>50247296
Alright, I just wanted to point this out as when I tried raising this issue with him during Mortal Gauntlet he was pretty adamant about keeping his prose the way it was. He has a bad habit of reading into his own text; he assumes other people know what he's talking about and writes as though the reader shares headspace with him.

>>50247311
I did not say it was decipherable. I stated that I had to make up my own interpretations of what he wrote because his writing is so damn nebulous.
