So, tell me /tg/ how often do you get the hankering to run a post-apocalyptic game or a Post-Collapse type of setting? And if ya do what system/style ya like the best for it
I think Apocalypse World is a good system for this, the exact flavour of apocalypse depends on what classes the players pick but it generally suits action-movie style adventures more than resource management and survival
Using my really demented Fate Core hack
Sort of wish I was kidding but I just need just a little more crunch, tactics, and lethality.
A question I had: how many people have ran or played in settings that appeared to be one thing, but turned out to be post-apocalyptic Earth or something similar, like Adventure Time or the Shannara series? To clarify, I don't mean something like Fallout or Gamma World where the post-apoc elements are clearly everywhere, but it's more implied or in the background.

You can use Savage worlds, with The Savage worlds: Broken Earth, or Savage Gamma world for good post apoc rule sets.

Broken earth has decent community / base building rules too.
Savage Worlds I think has some pretty good stuff. Rifts could work if you're into that kind of thing. Fate has Day after Ragnarok.
GURPS: After the End line is what I would use, but I'm a huge gurpsfag so yeah. In preliminary planning for a Mad Max-style clan resource war romp.

I cant say I've ever heard of Broken Earth whats thats all about?

Savage World, BRP, Mutant Year Zero, Storyteller.
Always wanted to play in one, never got the chance.

Much like cyberpunk, this stopped being fun when it became real.
Some posted a dump of a system/setting called apokalypse or something life that. It was a very edgy 90's-era system. Did anyone save it?
