E) Garnet has Precognition that is comparable to a JoJo stand. This actually makes for a pretty interesting matchup because Garnet is able to predict ahead of time when and how Dio will use The World, and combining this with her admirable battle sense, means that she's able to avoid Dio to a pretty reasonable degree. This basically makes it a game of endurance to see if a Gem's durability is able to outlast Dio's strength and stamina before the sun rises or other intervening circumstances occur. Otherwise, Garnet basically gets worn down to exhaustion, then has her gems shattered by Dio.

Ok, I probably shouldn't be adding to this discourse, but I read most of the Sword of Truth series when I was young, and man, it is dumb. I mean, first couple of books, fine. There are good ideas in there. But the places it goes... it's terrible.

Yes, all the stupidly terrible things "make sense in context". But that's the thing, the whole story is bent over backwards with its arm twisted up its own ass so that those things can "make sense". Half the reason the first few books seem all right is simply because you haven't reached the point of overexposure yet, but after it just so happens that the setting or story has come back around to involving extreme sexual violence for the thirtieth fucking time, you start to suspect that maybe Mr. Goodkind has something on his mind. And, oh! Most of the villains seem to represent a VERY extreme and distorted version of some political ideology that Mr. Goodkind doesn't personally agree with! And most of them, in addition to having these different ideals, are also violent rape torturerers. What a coincidence.

Yes, Mr. Goodkind, we'll accept that the evil ritual involves eating a young boy's testicles. And... well, ok, I suppose it makes sense that your main female character had to run around a battlefield naked, in that particular circumstance. Not sure you had to have that talk about her allies getting boners at the sight of her. Oh, the fastest magical transportation system is fueled by the soul of a dead prostitute, ok. And... the process for a woman stealing a wizard's magic for herself involves letting herself be violently fucked by some sort of demon beast thing. And then... hm. Mr. Goodkind, could you tell me how many of these plots DON'T involve rape in some capacity?... I see.

Anon he was arguing with here, I didn't even get to mention all of the other stupid shit that happens in the book, like the part where they win a skirmish by making their soldiers take off all of their armor, paint themselves white and pretend to be ghosts during the middle of a snowstorm to fool the enemy army.

See, as games go, it is extraordinarily unnerving. For a game which consists of a hallway, a bathroom, and a cement room where you keep waking up, it manages to create an atmosphere of immeasurable dread. Horror games live and die by their atmosphere, and between Kojima and Del Toro, you had a potential experience unlike any before.

Sadly: Konami decided that making pachinko machines out of their IP was more valuable to their company than making video games created with said IP's creators.
