Slowing down and taking it easy makes you old. You have to challenge the mind and keep yourself busy, so she goes out to collect pretty flowers for her garden and slay monsters.

Granny was a crack shot in her day, when she served as a marksman. Even in retirement, the old gal could be found at the range, nailing targets like it's nobody's business. Now the government went and cut Granny's pension, so she's coming out of retirement for one last job.
