I did forget Primal Warrior, but not only is Primal Fury considered the second problem discipline, it's only +2d6 extra on the rising zenith strike compared to Elemental Nimbus, which still isn't enough to reliably take down a CR6.

Stacking Powerful Build on top of all of that adds another +4d6 which is now barely enough to reliably take down a CR6 on average, and still doesn't scratch CR7.

And again, this is a nova ability for a ZS OD which means they need to waste their next turn to have a chance of doing it again before the battle is over.

Stop pulling fake numbers out of your ass.

I'd say Powerful Build OD ZS is roughly fine but is nearing the edge of what someone could invest into pure damage at level 5 without pfg raising an eyebrow or two.

I just pace around and think about where the character is, where he/she thinks they are. where are they going, where do they want to go. Both in the figurative and literal senses.

I listen to some music. I imagine how my character fights, how they talk, etc. Then it just kind of spills forth and I vomit a character bio out.

Out of combat healing is kinda unimpressive at the best of times.

The skill check manuvers are also designed to be pretty damn reliable, that's why they are skill checks. They are not supposed to be 'Eh, 50% chance this will work'.

Really a lot of Path of War problems aren't the classes themselves it's the Disciplines and the fact that DSP can barely write shit about fuck to save their life if they aren't cribbing good shit from 3.5

Take Psionics
Almost every bad thing in that book(bar Psychic Reformation, and the fact they chose to bring that back says a lot) is something that DSP came up with themselves. Aegis was a fluke and it isn't even really good. Just dippable if your a full BAB class and don't give a shit about your capstone.

Sure, I'll try to make it work, and I'll often pick classes that are known to be strong, but in the end I'm making a gestalt that fits a particular character theme; Steelfist Commando/Slayer for example may not sound too hot until I point out it's being made because I want to be a thuggish assassin with killer fists.

The gestalt should reflect the character just as much as the character reflects the gestalt.

Which classes really shine in a low level campaign? (levels 3-6)

I'm looking for something that I wouldn't want to play in longer campaigns.

A common problem of mythweaver games is they don't actually exist. Someone will put up what they wrote for,say, an RL campaign, or the premise of what's going to show up on fanfiction.net in a few months...

Game is of course set to start not next week, but in maybe 1-2 months.

And people sign up for game, make characters, write some background out - often they'll be all excited because they get told to also flesh out maybe a little village or region that they're from. Which would be great if you actually got to play...

Debatable. Even unarmed, it still deals a lot of damage compared to other disciplines. Even if you're only dealing base of 1d3+str instead of 2d6+1.5*str, three attacks at -2 with +3d6 damage as a standard action at level 5 is still very powerful.

While I don't remember the name (not a unique issue; "uh.... you" has been applied to my own children on occasion) I do remember much of the other parts, so here goes:

The character I'd written was a fire-elemental ToB-using Fairy (well, half); her father was human and no one wanted to explain to her how babies were made whenever she'd ask, always averting their eyes and mumbling something imperceptible.

I usually stay away from "tiny" races, but some of the racial options and whatnot we were being allowed made me think I could probably figure out some way of making her some kind of flying inferno divebomber.

She had some Salamander traits, and I wrote up the village/area she came from; not "greatest forge on the continent" but rather an offset floating island who produced *THE* most cheap knockoffs of anything metallic or ceramic anywhere. The greatest pride of craftsmen on the island was making *more* than the next guy.

By the time session 1 was to start, we hadn't heard of the GM in a week; he'd been massively active every day until then, and the last we ever was "oh session will start a few minutes late I have some things" a week afterwards (sometime during when the second session would have been).

Couple of days later the game was marked as "completed" in the activity log; a cursory glance of the GM's profile showing that he'd closed another one down about a week before we started character creation, a pbp one that ended completed and locked after a single intro post, and more and more and more as one looked back on the history.

A few weeks later another game, different GM, same shit (I think gareth was supposed to be in that one), and since then every time I've seen an invite for mythweaver games on /tg/ I've checked the GMs before getting any work done.

I've not yet had to write anything yet as a result.

So I'm doing a Bloodrager in Shattered Star, specifically Crossblooded. As we just hit 16, I've got a choice to make between two powers. Either I go for what's essentially Form of the Dragon 2, or getting a firey aura that deals 2d6+CON to enemies that end their turn near me as I rage. I've got natural attacks out the wazzoo (claws, tail, hooves, a gore, even a tongue whip and bite if I cast spells), so I'm not so sure how useful FotD would be. But, since we're playing such high level now, I doubt I'll even encounter something that ISN'T resistant to fire.

So what do I do?

Making something that'd be fun, but that I wouldn't normally be able to do. For example, Vigilante is fun, but I have no way of accessing ranger or druid spells. Vigilante || Hunter lets me do that while still retaining some sense of sanity. Is it particularly optimized? No pulling punches is great when it means the players get to go all dynasty-warriors on an army that ACTUALLY goes after them once they prove themselves a threat.

Well, the -2 strength puts a damper on most two-handed, and sort of to archery. twf and general dex builds would work, if you can get dex to damage.

The Wis bonus tends to promote classes that are divine in nature, so things cleric, druid, inquisitor, hunter.

As far as initiators go, Mystic, Stalker (consider bushi class template for this), Ordained Defender Warder (with either Hawkguard or Dervish Defender)

With Psionics you could pull off any kind of soulknife other than living legend well. Also Vitalists would be well suited.

Undine doesn't really have much that affects class choice beyond stat block. So as long as the class doesn't need str and uses either dex or wisdom, any class would work well.

Lest esoteric or obtuse methods for raising a PC's base/natural AC?

Building a level 7 Punch-man; current pre-armor AC: 20

The plan is to dump most of my starting money into celestial armor for the +9 and call it a day; say it's the armor of my master or clan or something. From there I'll just focusing on damage per-punch and mid-combat options (most of which are pretty covered by martial flexibility).

Now, Steel Breaker Brawler is thematically right in-line with the sort of thing I'm shooting for. However, Exploit Weakness replaces Brawler's Strike. So I've got to opt-in to roll to potentially get +2 attack/damage & ignore all hardness/DR, or gain +1/2 Brawler AC, but in doing so I'm sacrificing counts-as magic vs. DR, which doesn't magic mainly ignore most DR to begin with? Plus I'll gain counts-as cold-iron and silver not 2 levels from where we're starting.

I actually statted out a PC that I'll never get to play that was yakuza themed.

Steelfist Commando that used Elemental Flux, Broken Blade and Riven Hourglass for maximum lightning ORAORA, with the optional custom exotic weapon of a finessable Earthshaker flavored as a metal bat.

I'm not exactly a seasoned GM so I'm not sure how to handle my next game.

We have a Ranger, Druid and Dragon mage adept from 3.5, and possibly a 4th one who hasn't made his character yet.

Everyone is pretty squishy and I'm kinda afraid of just straight up killing someone by accident, I already nerfed some of the planned encounters so they won't do as much damage

He's not giving other players shit, but his demand that he be allowed to spectate applications demonstrates that he fully intends to use them as pawns in his little game. He's demanding exact specifications about what makes something stupidly OP just so he can find a loophole to make something stupidly OP that doesn't violate the terms the DM has laid out. Likewise during applications he'll likely start harrassing people by posting "if this isn't stupidly OP I don't know what is. I should have been allowed to build X, Y or Z!"

To be fair, there's nothing wrong with a yakuza punching people with lightning and collecting debts with an electrified pipe.

The overall stye is fairly similar. One just has headbands and wears the uniform like a cape.
