You play poker in all of them.

Original edition is best edition.

The spellcasters use decks of cards to cast spells, better hands having greater effect. The initiative is card based, more cards meaning more actions. The character creation is card based even. It does use dice for skill rolls, you're going to need a lot of a variety of dice. It can be a deadly game, the monsters are tough.

The main reason the original edition is best is that it has a lot of stuff for it.
