Topic: auto pick models for different strategies
>>
>>50079160
Jack Daw seems near autotake to me when Assassination is in the pool, although the only problem with it is that The Bigger They Are is non-master.
>>
>>50079160
>auto pick models for different strategies
For gremlins, Burt Jebsen for reckoning/collect the bounty.

The fucker is both killy and very unusually resilient.
>>
>>50079160
I play two crews, Hoffman and Schill

Whenever i get Power Ritual, Breakthrough, Cursed Object or Plant Evidence i just pick up a Watcher, when Hoffman slaps on the upgrade where it can take Interacts as a (0) action it just shits out an ungodly amount of scheme markers.

as Schill i usually take the Specialist if any of the mass marker schemes are an option, stuff like Protect Territory, Turf War and shit like that.

I'll throw in how my last game went aswell

Went up against Pandora for the first time, his crew was
>Pandora
>Baby Kade
>Poltergeist
>3 Sorrows
>Spider Lady

mine was
>Schill
>Hannah
>Librarian
>Specialist
>Trapper
>2 Freikorpsmen

Schemes/Strats are irrelevant as you'll find out
He bunched up his shit really tightly, and the Specialist got off an amazing volley, flipping a Severe damage with the burning trigger, with 2 Rams. Killed of Baby Kade right out because he got hit by 2 blasts, put the 3 sorrows and the geist to 1 wound each.

In turn he moved in heavily on Von Schill though, and he killed him in Pandoras activation, due to me failing 3x WP tests and taking 12 instances of 1 damage from Sorrows/Pandora.
On my activation Hannah murdered the sorrows and if he hadnt conceded at that point i had a RJ on hand to cheat on damage towards Pandora.
>>
>>50079160
How well does Kingdom Death stuff fit in the game scale wise?

I picked up some, but can't get my group to play it. Malifaux is pretty popular here and I was looking into giving it a try.

Also, any new player advice?
>>
>>50081000
The only Kingdom Death stuff I have is one of the pinup boxes, but the models in that are noticeably larger than Malifaux stuff. I'm not sure if the pinups and the regular KD models are the same scale, though.

The best way to start Malifaux is probably to make a list of all the masters that seem interesting to you, then pick the faction that includes the most of those. That way you can start with a crew box and some of your faction's staples, and later easily expand into another master that will overlap with your existing model pool.
>>
So I just got the basic 2E book and this game looks nifty. What other books should I get? Because the one I have has a lot of references to mechanics and models that aren't in the book at all
>>
>>50081997
There's 4 books, the Second edition book, Crossroads, Shifting loyalties and Ripples of fate.
>>
>>50082319
And all of them have new models and rules, I take?

Also what's this about Avatar mode or whatever? I haven't seen any upgrades relating to that
>>
>>50082353
The first 2 books have everything from first edition and a couple of new models, Shifting loyalties has the campaign system and a handful of new models for each faction and Ripples of fate has a new master for each faction and some new models each.

Avatars were extra models that the masters could turn into partway through the game, they turned out to be an absolute nightmare to balance and would have wound up being too costly to make so the emmisarys were made as a sort of halfway point, they get an upgrade depending on which master you take them with. There are still avatar upgrades if you are playing a campaign but there wont be any new models.
>>
Got a henchman hardcore tournament coming up later this month. Only problem is that I mainly play gremlins and I can't really think of a good list for it. Well and it doesn't help im still pretty new. Anyone have any ideas?
>>
>>50082912
I'd recommend Francois with dirty cheater
>>
>>50082912
Trixiebelle, Lenny, Burt, and a Bayou Gremlin. Trixie can make other models make attacks, which makes Lenny and Burt that much more dangerous.

Francois, slop hauler, and 2 roosters would be nice and mean. Win or lose, the game goes by quickly.

What all do you have?
>>
>>50082912
Sammy Lacrois is surprisingly good despite having low damage. Silly high df and the ability to shut down charges and triggers at will on. Enemy models is amazing. Take cranky and you're also cycling out two cards every turn and have 9 points left over for your other two models and upgrades.
>>
Off topic, but I'm wanting to start playing this game, do I need to purchase all the books or are there alternative cheaper options?
>>
>>50083966
You don't need to purchase the books. All you need is the rules (there's a rules manual that runs ~15 bucks, iirc), and a box for a crew you like. Similar to warmahordes, the box contains rules cards for all of the models inside of it.
>>
>>50083966
You can get the basic rules for free on drive through rpg. If you want a physical version you can get the rule guide for under $15
>>
>>50083966
Rules are free from Wyrd's site. Models have their rules and cards with them. Also, op has all the books for download.
>>
>>50083411
>>50083589
>>50083604
Thanks for the input guys! Right now I have Brewmaster's box, Somer's box , and a set of a rooster riders.

I was going to pick up Mah Tuckets box tomorrow (pretty much just for Trixe) but the snipers look like they could be fun. Been mainly playing Brewie and losing, BUT having alot of fun regardless.
Might pick up a second box but i'm really not sure who to grab next. The masked wrestler dude looks good for henchman hardcore too but maybe getting the Lacrois is a better move. I want to get a whiskey golem but I don't know if they are worth the points/money.
>>
>>50080236
>Burt Jebsen
>The fucker is both killy and very unusually resilient.
Last time I played the Gremlins I nearly lost Howard first turn to that little fuck.
>>
>>50079160

Right now Collodi is my main master, so it's really a revolving door of the effigies.
Anything killy = Brutal Effigy for the healing and card draw + Stitched
Anything with one spot (guard the stash, turf war, etc.) = Hodgepodge for the smoke screen and Beckoners to pull their models out of position.
Scheme heavy (plant explosives/line in the sand/etc.) is an auto-take of two Corophryees.

Really lacking stopping power though. I'm hoping the new Bunraku's help that a bit, but other than swapping in out of theme models, the puppets don't pack much punch.
>>
>>50082912
Mancha Roja is a huge pain in the dick at that level of game size.
>>
>>50084418
Whiskey has issues with being shot up is all
>>
>>50085086
>Scheme (marker?) heavy
>Really lacking stopping power though.
...
>Coryphee

Really?
Everything I've heard and seen of them is that they are incredible finesse murderers.
Neither of your points make sense to me.
>>
>>50084418
Burt and Slop Haulers are your friends. Brewy can do horrific things with the Trixie/Lenny/Burt trifecta.

I like the Whiskey Golem as an annoying tie down model that can hurt people every so often.
>>
>>50085127
They're the best in the current crew, to be sure. But you compare that to something purpose built (Burt, Cerebus, Killjoy, Mature Neph) and they come up real short. Jack of all trades, master of none, etc.

They're annoying as hell for the opponent, they can get across the length of the board in a turn and a half if they're not engaged, but they also can't put down a canine remain or guild hound in less than a full activation and a charge most of the time.

Usually their life cycle in my games go:
Turn 1-3: Position and drop markers. Tie up anything preventing that goal.
Turn 4: Charge one model as a team and hope to take it down.
Turn 5: Eat up the opponents hand and die horribly.

My point isn't that they're useless. It's that compared to other beat sticks, they come up short and there's no dedicated Enforcer Puppet to fill that role (except for Collodi I guess, but most Masters can smack people around, so it doesn't stand out.)
>>
>>50085250
I should make a note that by the time they get stuck in, most high cards have been spent making sure Stitched connects or Collodi Obey'd whatever needed Obeying.

Maybe they'd fair better with a dedicated hand to wipe something.

I'm open to advice/stories of using them well.
>>
I'm playing the Child scenario against 10T today. What do you think?

50 SS Neverborn Crew
Zoraida + 5 Pool
- Animal Shape (2)
- Hex Bag (1)
- Aether Connection (1)
Spawn Mother (9)
- Protect the Young (1)
Bad Juju (8)
- Eternal Fiend (2)
Tuco (7)
- A Thousand Faces (1)
Waldgeist (6)
Waldgeist (6)
Sorrow (5)
>>
>>50087289
For the scrap generating game, you'd probably want to try the scrap engine with Will o'the Wisps. Widow Weaver and Bad Juju with Fears Given Form can net you 2 scrap per turn from Zoraida summoning a doll and a Wisp doing the same. Instead of summoning a Teddy, just collect scrap and walk it up to the child marker. Grab a doppelganger for interacting while engaged, too.

Unrelated, but I'm getting Zipp when he comes out. I'll have him, Brewy, Wong, and Z for Gremlins. Burt, Slop Haulers, and Cocks are on my list, but is there anything else you folks can recommend.
>>
Any recommendations for making Tara playable? I only have Bishop, Hannah and the nothing beast as big beaters since my flgs doesn't have Killjoy. I have some drowned for Karina to summon and Johan to deal with constructs.
I also have ashes and dust but he can't be buried so he doesn't get fielded often and scion on the void is very fiddly so I need some more games under my belt before I can use him properly
>>
>>50088873
Scion is definitely hit or miss. Aionus too, from my experience.
If you use her with Dead of Winter the Marshalls can help even out her performance.

She seems to thrive more in hit and run or avoidance, like a more beefy and less tricksy Collette.
>>
What models do most people use when they summon a ton of gremlins as Somer? I was thinking about getting a set of the old metal gremlins because I really don't want to have two of the same posed gremlins.
>>
>>50080816
I hate the Wp-damage bubble from Pandora.
It's maybe not as immediately frustrating as paralysing two models per turn, but holy shit is it rough when something like
>failing 3x WP tests and taking 12 instances of 1 damage from Sorrows/Pandora.
happens to stuff.

I presume Hannah did some heavy lifting against all those Wp attacks?

>Killed of Baby Kade right out because he got hit by 2 blasts
Separate attacks, presumably?
I think you only ever take one blast's worth of damage per attack, even if it generates two blast markers.
Either way, that's one of the surprisingly few stories I've read of people using the Specialist effectively.
Are they actually that bad/swingy, or just difficult to get that high damage out of?
>>
>>50081820
>Kingdom Death
>models in that are noticeably larger than Malifaux stuff
Taller, chunkier, or just at a >35mm scale?

>>50085250
>>50085283
I guess I'm just used to hearing about them in Arcanists - I know really very little about how Collodi plays, other than that my local Collodi player doesn't play him at the moment due to a lack of good/interesting puppets to play with.

The built-in positives to everything must do some good work though, no?
What do you usually go after?
From the card, they look perfect for cleaning up the edges of engagements - wounded or cheap models should be splattable easily enough.
>>
>>50089937
>Taller, chunkier, or just at a >35mm scale?

I'm pretty sure the scale is a bit larger and the sculpts are all really tall. I've been giving them away as gifts though so I haven't got an assembled one around to check.
>>
>>50088873
Can't you get your FLGS to order Killjoy?

Either way, I've heard/read that Ashes & Dust is decent - is it really necessary that he be buried?
>>
>>50089937
>Kingdom Death
Yeah, the scale is a bit off for Malifaux, plus the style isn't quite right.

I guess you could maybe get away with running them as Outcasts or Guild if you've got generous opponents, but it'd be a stretch.
>>
>>50090094
I was originally thinking of running the Wet Nurse pin-up as a Nurse, but then I saw the non-front angles - it's way beyond "a bit too lewd", even for Malifaux.
>>
>>50090401
I spent enough to get Dr. Dufresne(sp?) last Black Friday. It's my nurse now.
>>
>>50090766
>Dr Dufresne as Nurse.
That's a nice idea, yeah.
One of the things I'm a little less keen on in the Malifaux line is the necessity of mixing 'serious' models with schlock-horror and cheesecake for certain crews.
>>
sup nignogs, I've been putting together my marcus crew to be a part of my Dark Carnival, but I have a few questions before playing him.
#1 what is the raptor+ cassandra trick I keep hearing about so I can abuse it?
#2 other than the "Turn something big into a beast then control it and wreck stuff" what neat tricks are there with a marcus crew? It seems very straightforward.
#3 what are some good out of faction beasts he can bring? I was thinking about spawn mother until I remembered you can only lay an egg a turn.

I was thinking more of the less overtly lewd miniatures, just so aI have an excuse to use them. Is there a faction breakdown/guide? The only other game I play right now is Infinity.

IIRC Malifaux is 30mm? so 25mm would be very small next to it, putting them in an akward spot between the generic fantasy miniatures and KD right?
>>
>>50091826
Yeah, Malifaux is 'heroic' 30mm I'm pretty sure. Certainly a much larger scale than Infinity.

https://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com has information about all the factions and most of the models for those factions, if that's what you're after
>>
Just ordered Shenlong's box, 10T's brothers, and the emissary. Any suggestions on what to go for next? I'm probably gunna stick with shen for awhile while I get used to him and the faction.
>>
>>50091913
Kat Snipers are great with Shenlong

Low River Monks are also excellent now that their new upgrade is out.
>>
>>50091609
Cassandra with practiced production, the raptor unburies where it needs to go, Cassandra activates and drops a scheme near the raptor with trap doors, you drop a scheme anywhere else with a spare ap which is discarded at the end of the turn.

He is pretty straight forward but when he can put all enemy beasts in los at negative flips, then turn an enemy into a beast, triggering a free attack from smell fear, which because they are now a beast means they are defending at negatives, then still have his 3ap plus melee expert at min damage 4 to wreck your shit he doesn't really need all that many tricks.

Silurids are good, Rogue Necro to carry the smell fear upgrade and just smash shit, and canine remains to hand out rabies, a condition that gives the beast characteristic and -1 wp.
>>
Just played a game against my brother. Viks vs his Brewmaster. We ended it 10-9 my way, but I gotta tell ya, Binge with Sun Quiang's bullshit is terrifying. DUde kept walking up into my face and picking up heads or exhausting people and he didn't die until turn 6 when blood finally got a turn (performer paralyze and him winning initaitive made me sad)
>>
>>50080190
Jack doesn't kill masters all that well. Viks get the job done way easier, but are pretty squishy. Misaki is a bit more survivable. If it's actually Assassinate, Leveticus is the tits. If it's neutralize the leader, he's awful.
>>
>>50092851
Johan is the answer. Condition removal is very helpful, and he's a good stick too.
>>
>>50088873
Her box plus those models sounds great. All you might want to add is Johan and Hans/Trapper. Tara is tricky to learn but rewarding to master, so just play her a lot.

>>50089644
The old metals are good, I've also seen kitbashes of Bayou Gremlins for slight variations. One of my friends just paints the similar poses in different colors.

>>50091609
#1 Give Cassandra/Anglica/Carlos Practiced Production. Lets them drop a marker off any friendly model when they activate, so they drop a marker of a Raptor that buried and unburied in the enemy deployment zone. It's stupid and broken, but that's Arcanists for you.

#2 Turn something into a beast and put it on neg flips, be a guy with min damage 4 and 4 AP to attack with, never die with your jackelope and Df trigger, turn models into beasts with canine remains/raptors to save AP, stuff like that.

#3 Dawn Serpent (blasts, heal, counterspell, good all around), Rogue Necro (blasts, good damage, rather fragile), Canine Remains (cheap, quick, significant, can turn things into beasts), Waldgeists (tough, makes terrain), Silurids (top schemers), Rougarou (pounce)

>>50091913
Lone Swordsman is a good melee model, bit of a scalpel rather than a hammer. Izamu is a hammer. Snipers can shoot very well with Shlong's buffs. Low River Monks can heal and clear conditions.

>>50092851
Based 10T Brewy. So underrated.
>>
>>50094334
For sure, I wish I brought him. But I was going for a gun line build...and was admittedly relying on Hans for support. Still it was an awesome game and I think I've inadvertently created a brewmaster player. Should have heard how much fun he was having.
>>
>>50079160
As Arcanists, I find Ramos automatic in a lot of situations: guard the stash, extraction, turf war, interference, and reconnoiter are basically free points for his crew. He's perfectly playable in the rest, but for those five he's got no real competition. You can make a reasonable case for pretty much every master in at least one of the other strategies (except poor Kaeris, in desperate need of some love) but the old man has the other five on lock.
>>
>>50094360
Outcasts is my secondary faction and I honestly can't make myself hire Hans, even just to try him out in a friendly game.

That 8 points could be Sue.
>>
>>50094469
It is a tough choice to be sure. But I find Hans works just fine in interference with Scout the Field. Mostly, the turn one sniper shot is there to put folks on the back foot. But nine out of ten times Sue comes out the box.

Return Fire is just too insanely good even without his other bonuses like Man in Black in a meta filled with casting crews.
>>
>>50094505
With return fire, he becomes absolutely insane. I've been running that in enforcer brawls and it's been nigh unstoppable.

Once you add in scout, Hans is fighting for slots with strong arm, nothing beast, bishop, Alice... Heck, I generally get better results out of a trapper for two points less, AND the trapper isn't at risk of getting one shorted by anything looking in its direction.
>>
>>50094469
The reason you run Hans is for removing upgrades or Scout the Field to remove some essential cog people usually hide. It's expensive, but killing So'mer's Slop Hauler or something similar can be worth it.
>>
>>50094624
That sounds like a good fuck you to gremlins.

Honestly, gremlins are complete bullshit
>>
>>50094745
It's mostly So'mer and cocks. The rest are generally fine.
>>
>>50094949
You've never had a pigapult score six points unanswered first turn, huh?

Or had 3 point models kill henchmen because "dumb luck is balanced, I had to lose a model to kill your 10 point investment

Or lost whatever your opponent wanted to kill because they drew a red joker and Glowy McTavish ignores every rule in the game.

And you get out activated every game because outcasts can't have rats, but stuffed piglets are fine for some reason.

You can tell it's bad when every single list starts with the same henchmen, as the faction has zero internal balance. Like, really, everything is either on top or completely worthless. And any knuckle fucker can win with a couple badly timed Rams.

All so faggots can model poop on their base and chuckle about being fucking morons.

(Side note: Ulix and Zipp are cool. They can hang with their reasonable, non idiot random chaotic stupid play style)
>>
Anyone have any experience with Through the Breach? My current campaign is coming to a close and a few players have shown interest in Through the Breach for our next game. None of them actually play Malifaux though.
>>
>>50095058
Outcasts can't have rats anymore? When did this happen?
>>
>>50095058
How is pigapult scoring anything?

It's a Peon and peons can't score shit.
>>
>>50095182

>>
>>50095202
They launch gremlins anywhere on the board
>>
>>50095058
Reckless was a mistake.
>>
>>50097861
Yes it was.

Their movement shenanigans are too much, too. They can completely out activate you, then deliver Burt and Francis anywhere on the board to erase two models.
>>
>>50097861
The best part is swine cursed. Reckless and regeneration, it's better than swift
>>
While we're all complaining about gremlins and I'm considering them, how is Zipp? And what models would I want to start with him?
>>
>>50087289
I ran with this anyway. Schemes were Convict, Exhaust, Show of Force, Mark, and Public Demonstration. My buddy ran McCabe.

I picked Show of Force and Mark. He deployed heavy to one side, I went heavy on the other apart from a Waldgeist.

That Waldgeist locked up his dogs, McCabe, and a dawn serpent before dying. Meanwhile, the swordsman and shadow ememissary went hard on Z who survived with stones. Swordsman went down to the voodoo doll hemming him. Later, the shadow emissary would spend the rest of the game paralyzed thanks to the doll/sorrow team.

Juju killed or tied up everything forever, and I kept throwing gupps in when he dropped.

Notably, Juju popped up in hazardous terrain, took a RJ damage flip, walked out and took a severe damage flip to bury him again.

Won pretty handily, though my m8 is just learning McCabe.

As >>50092759 says, from what I know Marcus just crushes face, feeds activations to Beasts and Beast's enemies.
It's more than good enough.

The Cassandra trick, as that guy also said, is very simple.
It's just also very, very effective - for a lot of schemes it's practically a free 3vp.

I fall on the Trapper side of the debate - that extra two or three stones is too much for the (hideously resource intensive) Upgrade popping ability.
>>
>>50101730

>>
>>50101810
Exactly. Nothing says love like zapping an enemy jorogumo with a broken arm.
>>
>>50095176
It's fun. More narrative based skills than you'd think.
Summoners feel a bit gimpy to me, because I don't think that summoned creatures get to flip like fated do, but they do get hordes of summons.
>>
>>50095176
Through the Breach is a lot of fun. Character creation is neat and I enjoy the slower leveling system. Ran two games of it so far and it is definitely narrative heavy.
>>
>>50100382
How does that tend to work? I like him in concept, but I'm trying to wrap my head around him.
>>
>>50095058
I don't think Pigapults are unanswerable, and they are a huuuge chunk of a crew - Pigapult + Pigs + Launchees is a big investment that will leave the rest of the crew lacking.
It also requires them to bunch their crew into a very tight area, which is pretty restrictive for board coverage - if you can force their hand so that they have to throw those models at your stuff, instead of where they were planning on landing, then the Gremlin player is pretty boned on board control.
I do think that the launched models not taking damage is pretty bullshit though - Paralysed is something though.

The Stuffed Piglets I do pretty much agree on.
It's straight bullshit that they don't have Explosive Demise - Bacon Bomb is a .may. take, which is shit, and the Concussion condition is shit.

As for most of the rest of your complaints, I think you just need to man up a bit.
Find a way to mitigate losses or kill more of their stuff faster, and McTavish is supposed to be a beast.

I do agree that it's telling that there are such clear, head and shoulders better (necessary, even) parts of the faction.

>>50095182
Necessary to stop Ractivation ruining the game in any vs Outcasts game.
I think it's a fantastic idea, since it's a shitty and boring exploit in a game built around interesting precision exploits - the whole point of the Viks, say, is that they are high-risk set up. Rats take all the fun out of that for both players.
>>
>>50097861
It is balanced well by a Wd stat so low that you can seriously punish them for using it more than a couple of times a game though.

I let my opponents Reckless for positioning, then pop two models with my Trapper.
No other crew you can do that with anywhere near as reliably, and for all that they can re-summon (or just soak those losses), it will become telling pretty quickly.

>>50104015
I mean more about raising skills since you typically raise one skill every session. Leveling in a pursuit is pretty much "get a talent or ability".

Point is, most sessions will see two things change on your sheet, which is a rate I enjoy.
>>
Newbie here, what does it mean when a suit icon is printed next to a statistic value in the character sheet?
>>
>>50104093
Thats waaaay faster than shit like D&D or gurps though most of the time, unless the person running it is giving you particularly fast progression.
>>
>>50104147
I'll grant you that. Comment rescinded.
>>
>>50103355

So in concept Zipp likes having a mobile crew that has plenty of synergy with each other Earl can heal the pig and so can Sparks same goes for the skeeter. Sparks can hand out armor to the first mate getting him to +2 as well as having chain activation, the robot pig generates scrap tokens so that Earl and Sparks can make use of it. Something to note about Zipp is that he likes to burn up the enemies hand and soul stone usage depending on the upgrade you take with him but he'll also burn through his own cache if need be to survive. Plus Zipp himself can produce scrap markers to help out.
>>
>>50104154
Yeah, i love TTB because of its FAST levelling system. Plus you can really feel power gain quckly if you choose to specialize, after just 3-4 sessions a melee character can be AV 6-7 with a + flip and 4/6/8 damage spread or other ridiculous shit.

Unfortunately i only know one host in my local area, though i might look to get into his next campaign. I host a campaign for my friends though, speaking of which I've got to come up with a new session, my old plans were spoiled.
>>
>>50104117
Some models have triggers on defense/willpower ect. The suite usually allow the trigger to go off always.
>>
>>50104265
So wait, in Justice's case, in the description it says you need Ram and Mask, but the DF number only has a Ram next to it. What is it then?
>>
>>50104301
Means you need to use a soulstone or flip/cheat what you need. Also means stuff that strips suites on the card makes it very tough to get off.
>>
>>50104322
Uh, I don't think I understand. It means you can only do it if I use a soulstone? What if I flip a ram and a mask in DF, isn't that enough?
>>
>>50104238
Talk about spoiled plans. I came in for my first campaign with everyone helping a mutual grandmother who came to a town to save them when they were children.

It became murder hobos burning down Ridley and starting riots after using Gremlins to sell drugs for them.

I don't even know where Granny went wrong.
>>
>>50104377
The ram is built-in, so to get Riposte you need to flip a mask, cheat one in, or use soulstone to add the suit before flipping.
>>
>>50104764
Ah, I see

Isn't that kinda unnecessary, though? Why not just make it so you need a mask and that's it?
>>
>>50104806
Because of abilities that strip suits. There are some things in the game that make it so that suit isnt in there.
>>
>>50104806
Abilities that remove suits and probably flavor reasons.
>>
>>50104854
>>50104865
Oooh right

Okay, thanks!

>>50100657
Would Zipp and Brewmaster boxes alone make a decent Zipp/Gremlin brewie crew? How about with Proxied akaname?
If not, what would i need to add to make this work? NO TRIXIEBELLES ALLOWED.
>>
>>50103668
Not much you can do if you're out activated because piglets (seriously, the fact they self sacrifice so you can't even score hunting party is bull) and then McTavish focuses and plants a red joker into whatever, especially on a God awful convention table. Your opponent has a 25% chance to erase anything regardless of cards.

I mean, I've only lost two games to gremlins ever, and they were against the current top ranked U.S. Player. It's not that I can't beat it, it's that I think it's not well balanced and generally unfun
>>
>>50105473
Just take Trixie. She's so good she defines the faction.

Or the rest of the faction is garbage.

>>50108267

It depends on which one your are looking at, but they are good for the individual master ones.
>>
>>50110191
I'm looking at the shenlong and misaki lists mostly atm
>>
>>50108236
>It's not that I can't beat it, it's that I think it's not well balanced and generally unfun
That's fair enough.
I was going a bit hard with the "git gud" stuff, but again I agree that the Gremlins are balanced for the average-to-good player around the idea of having less control/reliability, and the better the player is, the more they can push the envelope in terms of getting that max damage with minimal lolrandumb.

Also, tournaments that can't provide the 33-50% terrain coverage on .every. table shouldn't be allowed to call themselves tournaments.

>>50104461
Can you summarise in 100 words or less what the fuck was going on?
>>
>>50104461
>>50112343
Not in 100 words.

Granny calls them across the breach and they suspect her as being possibly evil when constructs attack her farmhouse and they discover a secret workshop and mind control formulae in her basement. Her butler sends them off on an errand to get ingredients that happened to be on the formulae list which increases their suspicions...but they go along with it anyway, hoping to get answers when she returns.

Fast forward to when they go to the north to fetch Wendigo blood and a secret tonic from a pharmaceutical cure-all start up company. Their plan to get in was to, and I quote, create and patent a fake medicine with a suspiciously similar name hoping to get attorneys or leg breakers to visit them so they could jump them, take their clothes, and walk into the facility.

Did I mention that my group was insanely overcomplicated with their plans?

Anyway, as time goes on, they discover the facility that sent the constructs after Grandmothers house in the first place and they go in. Turns out the 'toy factory' was a front for a guild robot factory doubling as a Ridley spy.

This act of explosives spurred them on to try and solve all problems with explosives netting the team access to the demolitionist pursuit, but when they started going after major structures, that's when the riots started.

Meanwhile, the insane doctor was brewing drugs to sell that he specifically wanted to have as highly addictive and since he didn't want to sell them, he conned gremlins into doing it for him in exchange for 50 pounds of bacon a day.

Now, obviously the characters couldn't get away with it for ever. So they had about a dozen bounties on their head except for robotic John Henry who, in his big dumb guy wisdom, kept out of this entire thing and got a job with the Union.

The game ended when everyone but John Henry were ambushed by a gremlin team that was pissed that they missed two days of bacon deliveries since they were hiding from bounty hunters.
>>
>>50112414
And the team by the way was...

Gun Gal: Started off as a mage who got launched into the bayou when she crossed the breach and learned gun bullets to survive (Mage pursuit). Ended up being a shoot-first ask questions never type who relied on the power of fear. Her destiny was going to have her start serving a non-canon Tyrant of Fear.

Robotic John Henry: A black guy who made friends with 10T and Union alike with good home wisdom. Became a boxing champ and a Union miner before the game ended.

Doc McPsycho: A latecomer who wanted to play a cowardly doc hiding behind a full suit of enclosed armor. Proceeded to attempt to torture his victims who crossed him in his Walter White drug trade.

James Marsden: A mercenary rifleman hoping to join the Freikorps. The player got his wish and abandoned the party (the player moved across the country for work)

>>
>>50112414

That sounds like a good time.
How many sessions did it take to build that story?

Like the character spread too - not too lolrandumb straight off the starting line, but obviously has a lot of room to manoeuvre.
>>
>>50112649
Oddly not - none of the abilities or attacks reference the Pig type, except the heal which is Pig and Gremlin.

I find it very odd that the Appetising condition (target counts as Df 4 after getting hit with Slop) is not specific to Pig-/Beast-originating attacks - I don't see how looking tasty will help a Boomstick bullet hit.
>>
>>50104008
The upgrade gives smell fear to all beasts in LoS, the Rogue Necro is Ht 3 on a 50mm base, it just makes it easier to give it out across the board.
>>
>>50112873
Hmm...I'd say the whole campaign took about 7-10 sessions. We had a couple longer ones mixed in but I can't recall. It was a lot of fun, I'm missing a few details here and there, but that gives s decent summary.

I remember the look on gun mage's face when her go-to tactic of Fearing things failed because her target was immune to Horror duels.

Slop haulers are the best healers in healers in the game. They can hand out 4 healing flips a turn, or reckless to move up the board and still heal themselves and 3 other models.

Zoraida

you can control the voodoo doll, you can obey with mask built in.
>>
>>50115506
Zoraida or Jacob lynch (hungering darkness) lucky for you they are both neverborn.
Or if you don't care about masters ressers have some of the best lures in the game along with another spell called "undress"
>>
>>50115506
Zoraida and Brewy, probably.

Z has the mask built in, gets + flips if the voodoo doll has you hemmed, and gets to ignore LoS with the emissary.

Brewy has obey without a mask, but he has Binge. Binge makes the model pitch a card and gain an effect based on the card discarded. Masks are an obey. You can obey your crew easily with any low masks to pitch.

Huggy is also good at it.

So I fought against Lilith for the child tonight. I decided to throw down with outcasts. If I had Levi I probably would have used him. That child strat was some bs both me and my opponent snubbed it entirely. He played a non-grow nephilim list and I decided to bring misaki with my jorogumo list.
Turn 1 only one of my shadow strides managed to hit what I needed it to (couldn't get the suit)
Turn two the jorogumo I did manage to shadowstride died spectacularly to nekima who I had to kill for a quick murder, luckily I hit another shadow stride and had the last jorogumo close enough that it could start walking to combat.
Turn 3 saw nekima dead scoring me 3 and misaki landing blows on Lilith but not killing her.
Turn 4 he iced misaki, and tried going after the jorogumo that he had a quick murder on, but every time he got it close to dead it would kill something and the reheal.
Turn 5 he took one last shot at killing it before the jorogumo I had ripped Lilith and a mature nephilim's throats out.
Turn 6 move one jorogumo onto his half of the board and drop a scheme for leave your mark.
We ended it 4-3 my favor, he got 3 from convict labor from his terror tots early in the game.

Does anyone make custom markers for their crews?
I just placed an order for some Burning Spheres and Fire Elementals from Reaper, along with a Ghostly Summons to join the few other 'air' effect minis I have already which I'll be using as fire and wind markers.
I also have some dead cowboys from some range I've forgotten the name to, for corpse markers. Clockwork bits and pieces for scrap and I plan on making a lot of thematic scheme tokens also.

Does anyone else do this?

It looks like the same equipment on the Firestarter, where it is a jetpack.
Maybe he only uses it for short bursts to aid in his wind magic. Hell if I know.

On a related note, I'm making a female Captain and I'll likely use either one of these two:

Similar to how you cant hire sheshin but they have a rarity so the summoning caps off.

You'd expect this once or twice, but watching it happen in four consecutive games is just bizarre, especially when the damage flip is never cheated, it just pops up from the opponent's deck to ruin my day and kill a 14 point model (12+merc tax+dirty cheater upgrade).

That's pretty insane luck bro.
Maybe you should consider burning your Killjoy or something. Very totemic magic type of move.

Also, how are you deploying this?
Pigapult?
>>
>>50147582
Yeah, the plan is to launch a stuffed pig just outside of 1" of a big juicy target, then hit it with a bacon barrage attack, cheating down the pig's defense/pigapult attack to get a nice blast onto the target as well as the explosion result of the first pig, then summon Killjoy to finish it off. KJ always gets in a nice kill, but then something at the end of turn 2 will ping him for 2 damage and then something else will hit him with a double negative flip and wind up pulling the red joker to remove all his wounds before he can regenerate 1 through glowy regeneration, 1 or 2 more with dirty cheater and the rest with his 0 regeneration ability. I've managed to heal him on his first activation for 6 damage and still have him fall to the damn red joker to the face. I'm going to try finishing the conversion I've been working on and painting it and see if that helps his luck. I've removed the face chains, sculpted a chef hat and apron and now he's a BBQ chef.

>>50151624
Not with Ramos. It brigs nothing to the table for him except for the once per game destined card draw

.>>50151502
Ramos. He's forgiving to learn and has an incredibly high skill cap. Also, everything in his box plays very well with others.

Your first addition to the box should be Johan.
>>
>>50152170
Ironsides is absolutely fantastic once you realize that everyone plays her wrong, she's all about control not fighting, and she's the definition of dark horse.

But people try to put her up against three combat henchmen at a time and then complain when she gets killed. She's a bully, not a fighter.
>>
1d4chan's wiki on malifaux is so out of date and objectively wrong that it hurts to read.

Should just nuke the page.
>>
>>50153557
Alrighty. Yeah, I was looking at Johan, some more spideys and a Creation. The only other thing I can think of is Mech Rider, but it's out of stock at most places I've looked.

>>50153622
>1d4chan's wiki on almost everything is so out of date and objectively wrong that it hurts to read.
Extrapolated on that for you

And yeah, you are right. If someone goes through with that and the administrators give them shit, tell them to fuck themselves. When a sentence contains "Mordheim knock off" and "Malifaux" in the same line you know that you can stop reading.

I'm running a tournament on Saturday. Here are the strats & schemes.

Game 1
Deployment: Standard
Strategy: Collect the Bounty
Schemes: Convict Labor, Show of Force, Hunting Party, Search the Ruins, Public Demonstration

Game 2
Deployment: Flank
Strategy: Interference
Schemes: Convict Labor, Take Prisoner, Exhaust Their Forces, Leave Your Mark, Inspection

Game 3
Deployment: Corner
Strategy: Stake a Claim
Schemes: Convict Labor, Show of Force, Exhaust Their Forces, Detonate the Charges, A Quick Murder

Which faction would you play? Any models stand out as must-haves for any particular game?
>>
>>50163911
Outcasts are the only ones I'm familiar with.
Game 1 I'd grab show of force and search the ruins with Parker and bring hans
>>
>>50163911
I only play Colette at the moment, but I played a tournament with a similar set-up and the only one that gave me a lot of trouble was Stake A Claim against out local best player.
He just chopped me up too fast to contend properly.

Still, Stake a Claim with Detonate and Exhaust Schemes covers five or so points. Two, or three from an early but ultimately costly push, out of the Strategy isn't too hard.

I don't like Flank at all (or rather I need to learn how to play it), but for Interference it makes securing the 'home' quaret a lot easier.
From there Leave Your Mark is a freebie with Cassandra and Practiced Production, and then Convict or Exhaust to score the rest of the schemes.
For Interference I usually use Performers, Colette and maybe a Trapper to secure the 'easiest' quarters, and then Howard and Cassandra engage and ideally delete a few contesting models.

For Collect the Bounty, I go Joss, Howard and Cassandra with S&M. Maximum mobile killing power, with a solid centre holder.
Then aim to kill through AP efficiency and raw damage, scoring ideally Hunting Party as well as Collect the Bounty. If Hunting Party looks unlikely or too dangerous, Convict Labour with a Showgirl and Mannequin isn't too hard, if Hunting Party isn't viable.
Joss holds the centre clear for Search the Ruins late in the game.
>>
How do I deal with the viks as Tara?
>>
>>50163911
>>50166775
At the moment I have three models (that I'm trying to wean myself off) that I take in a lot of games.
In order of crutchyness:

Joss to eat and deal damage reliably.

Howard Langston (sometimes with Imbued Energies, been thinking of trying Imbued Protection for the sruvivability) as a scary cruise missile.

Cassandra with Practiced Production and Smoke and Mirrors every god gamned time. I played a game without Cassandra recently and I was just lost without that mobile threat range, extra (1) Ca action (usually Prompt), and blasts.
>>
>>50163911
I've played this scenario selection a few times now. I played Arcanists the first two times, and I think I'll be doing outcasts next time.

First round, I took Sandeep, Ramos, Ramos.

The second time I played this selection, I took Ramos first round as a counter to Perdita (nothing beats the look in a perdita players eye when you shoot her to death with Ramos...). Second round, my opponent wasn't feeling great and just dropped the same list he played first round, which was Reva, even though it was a bad call. I felt like being sporting and dropped Sandeep instead of Ramos, and we had a fun time of it. Final round, I played Colette into Jones. He was able to keep me down to a four point differential, largely because I went for the easy win with low points instead of the riskier blowout. Gremlins are too swingy to take the risk.

Next time, I'll probably go Viks, Hamelin, Hamelin.
>>
Stake a claim is awful. More free points for gremlins. Rooster riders are gay
>>
>>50170404
But you know they are coming - you should be bringing a back field sweeper or a sniper or something.
>>
>>50170404
That's what Austringers are for, anon.

I like Stake with Hoffman. Give one Watcher nimble and the other one (2) interacts as a (1), then everything Ernst goes to denial/killing.
>>
So any reason why I shouldn't always use the push/fast ability with Shenlong?

I've been thinking about high river style with which Shenlong could load a firekick with +2 burn per turn and blasts but I dunno. The push/fast combination feels more solid.
>>
>>50172939
It's pretty great, yeah. The other styles are a bit more focused. If you want to do blasts, say when surrounded by Gremlins, go High River.
>>
Just played a game on vassal with my brother. He asked to concede on turn two because Parker kept eating scheme markers from the tengu restricting his leap frogs and his deployment put his guys wayyy too far from Extraction.

What's the best way to teach someone who gets offended if I play softball but gets mad if they make mistakes?

Also, mad dog shoving a cigar in Izamu's eye is love
>>
alrighty gents, I think we got another shifting loyalties campaign coming up, and I'm thinking about running sidir ( cause I have an unplainted cherri bomb and I actually want to start using some of my 10T stuff) assuming you can only hand out one upgrade to Sidir, only start with 35 ss and have to pay for him out of that pool what would be some good 10T stuff to take with him?
>>
>>50173765
Have him play von shill. Or try going through the starter box missions
>>
>>50173986
He's playing 10T.

His masters currently are Yan Lo, Brewmaster, mcCabe, and Asami. He would prefer to focus on Yan and Brewmaster with McCabe as a pocket.

Also, not sure how to teach since any advice given he gets angry about or the moment I point out an ability on a card that he missed..bleh I say.
>>
>>50174012
I think I used to be kinda like him but grew out of it (almost). Maybe if he himself red tactics and thought about the game. Maybe lecture him a bit about the game outside the game and how he wants other players to perceive him. For me it helped that one time my friend got really pissed at me and yelled to stop my shit. It actually made me think.
>>
Does Colette need the Ramos box, really? Every list I see with her includes Langston
>>
>>50175840
Ideally. You can try subbing in Langston for the Mech. Rider as another melee beater, but Langston is just really nice to use. You can buy the old metal Steamborg Executioner separately online if that is a problem for you.
>>
So quick question. With the Black Friday sale info going up it looks like the 300$ tier rewards are an alt Nicodem and an alt Bishop. How likely is it that I could get the alt Nicodem in the future without paying 300 dollars (which will be closer to 500 once conversion and shipping fuck me). Obviously there's ebay, but will mystery boxes and future promo's contain that stuff?
>>
>>50176478
Yes and yes. If you do well in a tourney you can potentially get yourself the alt Nicodem.

Are there scans of Into The Bayou yet? Or an ETA on when the pdfs are up for sale?
>>
>>50177278
Dunno about the pdfs, but I can confirm it's worth your bucks. Rumor has it that there's going to be a gremlin multipart kit coming down the pike, but that's not been confirmed.

>>50179119

So My local henchman dropped a bombshell that he wants to step down. I can't step up because I don't know the rules well enough, and work doesn't exactly play nice with the days I get off.

Not sure the guy I recommended will be up for taking it...but I really don't want the guy trying to step up to get it. I personally don't have a problem with him, in fact I really like the guy, but he can be abrasive, and there are quite a few people who don't like him.
>>
>>50179166
That sucks. I only have 1 day a week reserve for Malifaux and 1 day per month for tournies and that's the extent of my henching. Is that feasible for you?

The rules thing isn't too hard if you have the FAQ and rulebook on hand. If you can't find it, just make a ruling and look it up later. Mistakes happen, but that's how you learn.
>>
Is Ten Thunders bad, or am I just shit at the game? They seem disorganized at best and schizophrenic at worse, with a gimmick of having low stats with positives, meaning that you get fucking owned by anyone with a high stat and a decent face card. Their infiltration trick is good, but the things that they can import don't really seem like enough to make up for their masters' general weakness compared to, say, Neverborn's rules-breaking or Outcasts' infinite activations.
>>
>>50179392
I've had plenty of success with Thunders, although it's mostly been against Arcanists and Guild

What have you been playing?
>>
>>50179422
I've been trying McCabe, but my LGS' distributors are assjacks so I don't have Guild Hounds yet. I've also been doing SHenlong and Mei Feng occasionally. I picked up the rest of the 10T masters, but I haven't really pushed as deep into them.
>>
>>50179373
I work panama shifts in a prison, so my 2 weeks look like this W=work O=off
wwoowww oowwooo
So feasibly I could do it. But as it stands right now it's an every other week sort of deal.

>>50179392
A) you are shit
B) it's not entirely your fault, you need to understand the gimmick of the 10T, their gimmick is that they take mediocre models and make them better, through upgrades, free focus, defensive, reactivate, or even bringing shit back to life. 10T are very much the status masters of the factions, they require a little more finesse than normal but you can get some pretty wicked stuff done if you try to synergize them rather than looking at what they do alone (Machines greater than the sum of their parts you know?)
>>
>>50179439
It really feels like you're putting a lot of effort into getting models to be just as good as what other factions have naturally...
>>
>>50179453
I don't know dude, models like Katanaka Snipers and Jorogumo are pretty great, plus we've got excellent Scheme Runners in the form of Tengu and Torakage, and excellent support models like Sensei Yu, and Yin the Pangalian,
>>
>>50179453
I'm telling you man, Thunders are good. McCabe might be one of the best masters in the game even after the stupid ass "Dogs can reactivate themselves non-sense" nerf, I've already been enjoying running Misaki in outcasts, and Meifeng in arcanists, So I can't wait for the new shifting loyalties to start up so that I can dive into 10T all the way.
>>
>>50179510
Do you happen to have a good youtube channel or written-out series of batreps for 10T that I could look at to get an idea of what I'm doing wrong? The only people I know who do them are Rough Riders Wargaming, and every time the 10T player wins it's because he got some minor rule wrong that wound up being pivotal.
>>
>>50179453
This is my feeling too even though I'm not that good yet (only five games of Malifaux). Proper damage dealing is a pain when other teams have at least 4/5/6 dmg guys with hard to wound.

Not losing hope though. As I said I'm pretty new to Malifaux. Gonna try the lone swordsman next and I got really good feeling about him.
>>
>>50179510

Can you advice what you take with Outcasts Misaki?
>>
>>50181416
Be careful with him, Bulletproof + 3 isn't great since he wants to be in melee with most things. Make sure whatever he's fighting can be killed quickly or give him some kind of support, if the enemy wants him dead its easy to do so. He can do some real damage with proper triggers though.
>>
How is the Lucky Emissary? Didn't make a great first impression at a glance.
>>
>>50130684
>One totem per master
I can think of several exceptions to this. Notably Somer can have two Skeeters at once.
>>
How are Dead Outlaws in a Jack Daw crew?
>>
>>50182645
I think they mean one type of totem. So you can have skeeters, but you can't have skeeters and the generic totem.

Like I can't have Malifaux Child and the Student of conflict.

Speaking of, is there any reason to ever use the student outside of TTB? I love the mmodel but...guh, 4 stones for that isn't worth it for Viks or Parker
>>
>>50174012
Talking about it could help. What I do to help players is play an open game with open hands and discussing moves.
>>
>>50181416
Izamu is a thing.

It's also fun to kill the big beater with a 3ss hound.
>>
>>50182652
Dead Outlaws are nuts, they shoot a lot harder on things that Jack curses and they are even better against McCabe.

Because anything with an upgrade on it has a far stronger chance of getting one-shotted by the guy.

>>50182672
I was considering this actually. The temptation to play softball is always there, but that wouldn't really help him get better. The big thing, now that I've had time to process, is that he gets frazzled REAL easy.

One of the easiest ways to protect a model is to point out any counterattack triggers that I might have. The only time he attacked Sue was when I told him that MadDog standing next to him gets a atk/dmg positives when he's bloody enough.
>>
>>50182700
>>50182652

And when I mentioned one-shot I was thinking Scheme Runners. This is why we reread posts before posting.
>>
with the Black Friday sale coming up is there a way to see what the past special edition models/boxes were?

I just picked up 10T and I have no idea what they have for specials aside from the McCabe's box. Just trying to think ahead and get a rough plan for my purchases.
>>
>>50182688
Yeah, Izamu has been on my list since day one. Izamu hasn't actually done that much but he has soaked up a lot of damage. I always try to heal too much and forget to cheat on the first heal. I also always forget to cheat damage.

Next game I'm going on smart offence and remember to score points and actually use Sensei Yu.
>>
>>50175840

adding to >>50175878 you could also try to get miss step. Shea an alternate Langston that's generally on eBay.
>>
>>50183035
If you want to hurt people, try Yasunori.
>>
>>50183469
With what model?
>>
>>50183547
The one coming out on Black Friday.
>>
>>50183547
I've been using a Reaper Bones dragon thingy
>>
What's a goid use for Wukou Raiders in 10T? I love the concept, but the best use I can actually see for them is an 8 stone upgrade for Izamu to get an extra couple of swings a turn.
>>
>>50182062
Sure, I take a few variants though, the first is kinda gimmicky list with Misaki in outcasts but it's surprisingly effective,
Misaki-2ss
+survivalist, stalking bisento, cutpurse
Yamaziko
+smoke and shadows, Oathkeeper
3x jorogumo
Freikorp trapper
Hodgepodge effigy

Turn 1 you hope to have at least 2 masks in your hand so you can bury your jorogumo with shadow stride then burn oathkeeper on yamizako to send her screaming 16 inches up the board. End of the turn you have a small area where the fighting is going to occur...or a small area that you are going to control.
Misaki and the hodgepodge on the other hand are going to pal around the board stalking and looking for things to kill. Remember it can sometimes be a good thing to use Misaki at the top of the round in order to drain their hand as she is a rare master that actually benifits from not having soulstones. Give her loyalty to the coin, have her put stalk on a target, and then send her screaming at said target. She burns the soulstone to get a crow so she has the assassinate trigger (she gets a second free crow and + to her def flips when she's out of ss) and if the attack lands even if they take min damage they still have to get rid of either 2 cards or 2 ss, acting early in the turn with her can leave exposed with their hand drained, but acting late you can start to hit their cache and possibly kill them if they have no cards in hand.
I like jorogumo cause they are tanky and I feel they perform their job well even for 9 points, I have had two nearly die, kill something small that wandered to close and regain all their wounds.

(Cont.)
>>
>>50184079
Alternate lists include
Misaki-2ss
+cutpurse, survivalist, disguise
Yamizako
+oathkeeper
2x ronin
2x jorogumo
Freikorp librarian
+oathkeeper
So this one is a little more slow moving but I like it cause it's much more defensive. The librarian likes to pal around with Misaki, while the ronin and jorogumo tend to stick together. Yamizako can either hang around the ronin & jorogumo to give them brace yari so charging the jorogumo or her becomes even less appealing or go master hunting with misaki. Misaki is much more defensive in this build but has the great combo of not being able to be charged, hard to kill, and +flips on healing. She also has a rarely used ability to jump away by pitching a card. In this build that ability is invaluable. Think about it in terms of "I'm going to engage when I'm damn well ready"
Anyway that's about it, I'm thinking about starting a document with what masters I've played how I thought of them and what I often brig with 'em. That something ya'll might wanna read?

>>50173765
>>50174012

If he's getting that snippy over constructive criticism, you'll just have to tell him to stop being a baby.

>>50175840
No, you don't.
You can do decently with a Cerberus as your beater.
But Howard is an absolute top-tier beater, so it's hard to say a flat no really.

>>50183774
Misaki - the extra shit going on with her Ml and spread is supposedly beasting.
I've read many Malifaux personailities saying they were made for her.
>>
>>50184128
>Misaki - the extra shit going on with her Ml and spread is supposedly beasting.
That involves keeping up with her, though, and to slow down that much with Misaki is traditionally death. Do you think it's worth it?
>>
>>50184223
Except it's not, when you consider that misaki's threat range is 10" and she can't be stopped by terrain or other models. If she charges it's usually gonna connect, meaning you can keep her back until you really need her if you got other bruisers to help you in the scrum.
>>
>>50184390
I'll admit I've only used her twice, but my understanding was that a Misaki in motion tends to stay in motion until killed by an outside source. Staying in a fight long enough for allies to jump in is a problem for someone relatively squishy, because it means a chance for enemies to also dogpile.
>>
>>50184582
My 2 script is that misaki is a fairly tanky cruise missile. In outcasts with access to survivalist she can force your opponent to try to drown her in attacks and make it hard to down her in a single round. On the 10T side she can get misdirection which makes ever mask good or bad a possible attack onto something else in the scrum. Believe it or not I feel misaki is the most survivable when she is out of SS and in combat with several people as she gets + flips on her defense.
>>
What would the first buys for a Sandeep list likely be?
>>
>>50185350
Ironsides box, possibly the university box, and I would always consider mechrider, at least one of each of the gamin, and possibly the arcane effigy.
>>
>>50185350
Metal and Wind Gamin for sure, best summons besides Banasuva.

Ramos and Ironsides' boxes are good additions.

Acolytes, Silent Ones, Gunsmiths, Performers, Arcane Effigy are good choices.

Valedictorian is great.

Sandeep is really flexible, so there aren't many bad options.

So I've been playing around with Large arachnids recently, I fucking love that temporary limb ability.

>>
>>50184223
>>50184390
>>50184582
>>50185114
I assume the idea is that Misaki hits the front on Turn 2, with the Wokuo Radiers hitting Turn 3.
One or two of them engaged in the same melee Misaki is can give her a whole shitload of attacks - activate the Wokou (on +s 2/4/5) and probably kill the target if you get even one Mask trigger off.
Activate Misaki, Diving Charge into the engagement with the other Raider - ideally charging something else entirely in such a way as to engage the Wokou's target too. Kill teh charge target, then on the Wokou's activation kill that target too.

It's not mindblowing, but the extra one or two Ml attacks from someone like Misaki is pretty great.
>>
>>50185978
What does it do?
Besides have a Gremlin-like model count?

>>50186570
Despite all that, I'd think they might be a little over-costed if it weren't for that (far too easy) Scheme Marker movement/placement (0).
A .six. inch place of freindly OR enemy Scheme Markers probably shouldn't be a (0), even on an 8ss minion - especially if they have built-in Scheme Marker dropping on an attack with +s.

I actually think Wyrd have gone waaaay overboard this Wave with models that can do very significant Scheme Marker shenanigans.
>>
>>50186616
what about a 6ss minion that can eat a scrap or scheme marker to get plus flips.

Please note it can be an enemy scheme marker.

Looking for some painting advice. I just got pic related but I'm not sure what color to paint him as. My general scheme so far is relatively close to the studio theme. Thread help me!

I only need the Raiders and Dead bandits from the sale, but I want alt rafkin and the guard sarge for my collections. So, tempted on picking up either McM or Lucius to make use of one of the two.

So which do I do? I've played Resser McM exclusively for a year before jumping to outcasts and traded it to Sandeep Anon for the Crossroads 7, so not exactly wanting to go back, but I've no clue on how to play Lucius.

I'd love to get a hold of Lobo-Bishop, but I am not dropping $300 and everyone in my current meta wants him too.

You need that upgrade for Tara or Nothing Beast that makes it so theres a bury check forced on any enemy model that kills a void wretch within LOS of the upgrade holder.
>>
>>50186616
I would agree if not for Gaining Grounds, the scheme marker shenanigans have become necessary because they made all the fucking schemes but two activate DURING the game once a turn rather than end of the game. >>
>>50191255
I don't own her, my brother does. But if you are an outcast player it stands to reason you have mercenaries, she has an upgrade that lets you take up to four non ressur non neverborn mercenaries tax free.
From what I've seen she is a versatile scheme manipulator that can produce 50 BILLION soulstones a turn. Also he nearly killed Von Schill with her once in melee so she can pull some other tricks i cant even begin to understand.

Her box comes with some reporters that do annoying shit to ruin your models day and do schemes, phiona gage who is a big mean lady that beats people up and gives them negatives to WP duels and her totem which gives out evidence or something.

Nellie would benefit from mercenaries, especially the Freikorps Specialist to remove the slow she likes to place on her own models and henchmen who like to spend soulstones. Because of her scheme marker/soulstone stuff i guess greed/envy from C7 would be good choices too?

I don't play Parker or Viks and i have little to no experience playing against them either. Why do you have Crossroads Seven but not Jack Daw? Why do you have Viks but not Von Schill?
Von Schill is so fun chargin around, breakin open cans, leading hard to kill armored immune to AOE models around! He might look simple, but whats fun about him is he makes his crew ignore all the BULLSHIT opponents usually bring against you, so you can play them without having to worry about the complete horseshit that hamstrings other masters and crews like "engagements" or "blasts" or "horror duels".

That's a good call. I'll probably drop Karina to fit the nothing beast
>>
>>50191371
To answer both questions, I had Jack Daw but found that I was simply not enjoying him. I had Von Schill and felt the same.

There's a guy in the forums who decided to give up all his outcast masters except for Jack and Levi and I did the same and found it to be very positive for my playskill and enjoyment.

I do get Von Schill, but I never found him as fun as the threat aura that the viks present and how schemey parker is.

Mostly I'm looking for something to play that isn't outcast and I feel like being fun rather than tournament level play.

It just seems like every faction now has access to a model that can throw a scheme marker or two a long way with relatively little difficulty.
I may be exaggerating to myself, but it looks like you can now guarantee a point or denial per turn just by activating your Marker thrower last and being in the right general area of the board.

Much of the precision planning has been removed.

I would't mind so much if Wyrd wasn't insistent on (a) making the new models generally really solid combat models too, and (b) filling in the (tactical/strategic) gaps on all the factions.
The first means a bunch of old models are pointless, since without marker silliness they lose out on utility to newer models.
The second homogenises what should be distinct factions and play-style feels.

I'm running a tourney tomorrow. This one, to be specific >>50163911

Every time, I build a ringer crew just in case we have an odd number. I score the game as a bye regardless so we just get to screw around and play a fun game with no stakes.

I think I'm going to go back to the Guild for this one.

I think I want to play Sonnia but I'm not sure if I want to try a full on burning/summoning build or just pure Witch Hunters with Thralls and the asylum bunch tearing people up in melee.

What do you folks think?
>>
>>50194384
I like the thematic crew more. Not sure about the asylum part though.
>>
>>50194470
I like the idea of running an aggro melee crew with Sonnia herding enemies into them, either from threat of nuking or with flame walls. Plus, I can give her Disrupt Magic and all the Witch Hunters just shut down casting hard

50 SS Guild Crew
Sonnia Criid + 5 Pool
- Cherufe's Imprint (1)
- Disrupt Magic (2)
Malifaux Child (3)
Dr. Grimwell (9)
- Numb To The World (1)
Nurse Heartsbane (8)
Witchling Thrall (9)
Witchling Stalker (5)
Witchling Stalker (5)
Orderly (5)

The sanitarium dudes are technically Witch Hunters, even if lore wise they aren't part of that department.

Puryfying Flame (3)

Brutal Emissary (10)
- Conflux of Incineration (0)
Witchling Handler (8)

I said fuck it, I wanna play the punchy girl and eventually go into Sandeep. And I figure I already have Kaeris' box and Willie, so I can switch styles pretty easily for now.

Buy list atm is looking like
Troubleshooters
Johan
Gunsmiths
Emissary
And maybe Wind Gamin for schemes/eventual Sandeeping

Any tips/input? Especially on how to not hate life starting on hard mode with Ironsides.

Trying to get my purchases in line for the sale and could use some help figuring out what to get for 10Ts. So far I've got shens box, emissary, and 10t brothers. Was planning on getting low river monks, that new rider guy, terracotta warriors and some kind if range model (either thunder archers or snipers). Any suggestions on if this would be good enough or if I'm missing something?

also how are archers vs snipers? Archers seem to be good at getting off a bunch of shots as opposed to one or two focused shots from the sniper.

Rail golem

I personally like snipers because of the figurines. On the other hand with Yu you can trigger the archer volley two times because Yu can copy it. I've also missed being able to shoot into combat. Still, snipers are great.

I really like the look of gthe Guild Guard Seargent.

But I'm a Eurofag, so exchange rate, postage and customs is just too far.

Aaaand there's Pic Related.

I wouldn't mind the Rafkin as an alt for a poison Colette list.

I love both models, which is why I'm waffling super hard between investing in McM or a list that a Sarge might be good for.

What masters use Sarges anyway?

Has ANYONE actually built the acrobatic little gremlin fellow that come with the Bayou Gators?
I have him here in front of me, and by god that bastard could fit right in in a flea circus. He comes in 6 pieces and is no more than centimetre high.

Most the people in my meta don't bother.

Is Johan, Rail Golem, Emissary too many big models?
