Colonel Santiago, always eager to go on the frontline since the war was announced. On her very first deployment, her unit got massacred, leaving three alive out of eight. That day was her first ever promotion, getting her to the rank of sergeant and a remonition for things to come.

Every single on of her deployments ended up successful, but with heavy loses. She would manage to get to the rank of Captain before she reached 26 and most of them being battlefield promotions. Until the fateful day of the battle of Great Baar. A bombshell hit central command, killing 2/3 of the army's highest ranking officials and any poor chaps that happened to be needed there. Santiago was dead for approximately 3 minutes before they begun inserting the bionc implants that keep her alive today.

It has been almost twenty years since the bombing and just as many since her last pyrrhic victory. Now in the rank of Colonel, she leads the northern front with tremendous success. However, a lot of the soldiers have started creating rumors about her.

Did central command give her a new brain to start being more calculating on her battle planning? Was her missing eye cursed and jinxed all her endeavors? Is she actually an enemy spy that took the real Santiago's place, playing the long game until suddenly she lets the enemy pass after a deliberate mistake in planning?

Once in a while it is heard that she lost someone dear in Grand Baar. That the man she was looking up to, her father, was obliterated right under the shell, taking away her more lax approach to planning, making her be more calculating, thinking every possible approach three times over before she finalizes anything. There are even rumors that during downtime she is even pleasant and more happy, when she will tell the story in more detail.

However, they prefer the theory of the cursed eyeball. She however is greatly unamused if called "Evil Eye Santiago."

Elder Jarrod, the blind teller.

Elder Jarrod is a cleric in the church dedicated to the God of Literature. His blindness came from an unfortunate accident that damaged his face and eyesight.

His face was saved, but his vision was lost because of the accident and a slight miscalculation from the doctor's part.

But despite his blindness he still serves as a cleric for the God of Literature as a job for the Priests of Literature is to not only teach great works of writing, stories and how to read. But to also tell stories, and Jarrod is quite the imaginative and talkative person who almost always had a story he can make up and entertain people with.

One of the few generals in active combat that has intimate knowledge about the majority of hostile and nonhostile alien species that the [insert generic sci-fi federation here] comes across frequently.

Using his encyclopedic knowledge, obtained from years of deployment, he ensures the health and safety of his troops, no matter what they come across.

Saint Dana; who used to be Dana Soderstrom, a paladin for the Goddess of Wisdom and Justice, served her entire life promoting law, good acts and will and protecting the weak from the unlawful and evil.

She has battled the once evil wizard; Kenneth The Strong, who was mad enough to trigger an apocalyptic chain of events that would've resulted in the land of Plumeia being destroyed in a matter of hours. She was succesful in stopping Kenneth but at the cost of her life as she died fighting.

The land was saved before Kenneth was able to complete his mad ritual, and her success and valiant death was celebrated for months as she was now also officially canonized as a saint. Who now also serves as one of the Goddess's Great Judges.

Captain of a band of typical mercenaries, the kind that can be bought to switch sides but not at too low a price.

Virtually every single human, dwarf and even one centaur kingdom hates their guts for the constant backstabbery, 'foraging' of friendly lands and reluctance to do any -actual- fighting. In light of this, and after one particularly compromising situation involving your men, the local tavern and a crate full of unpaid-for perishibles, the Captain-for-Hire finds himself being arm-twisted into a comprehensive and airtight contract with the rapidly expanding fascist Elven Reich.
