But can't i run in the shooting phase? With the Crusader rule i get another die for running, too. Won't this be enough to catch up to people?
With this in mind however it makes more sense to deep-strike the Termis towards objectives rather than characters or armour.

Also, is a Venerable dread worth the points? I've always thought it would be better to get an Ironclad since if they get through the armour, you're pretty boned no matter the reroll.
>>
>>50040221
>deep-strike the Termis towards objectives

In which case they are over-costed and glorified objective holders that could be a drop pod of tacticals instead

>Also, is a Venerable dread worth the points? I've always thought it would be better to get an Ironclad since if they get through the armour, you're pretty boned no matter the reroll.

I can only use Ven Dreads with my Deathwing so I am not sure.

Forgot to answer to this. It might be but there is so much AP2 these days that you could get obliterated in the next shooting phase because, again, you can't assault from Deepstrike so you would have to run for cover because getting closer just means easier shooting for your opponent.

ThunderWolf Lord w/ Black Death+Storm Shield (195)

Five Thunderwolf Cavalries w/ 5 Storm Shields + 3 Power fist + 2 Wolf Claw (390)

Didn't get a reply last thread

Finally finalised my Cult Mechanicus starter list. What do you think?

>HQ
>Tech-priest Dominus - 150pts
>Artificer armour; Volkite blaster; Macrostubber; Power axe; Mechadendrite harness; Scryerskull; Conversion field; Autocaduceus of Arkhan Land

>TROOPS
>x3 Kataphron Destroyers - 180pts
>Kataphron demiplate; Plasma culverins; Cognis flamers

>x3 Kataphron Destroyers - 165pts
>Kataphron demiplate; Heaven grav-cannons; Phosper blasters

>TOTAL - 495pts

I'm aware that people look down on not always picking grav, but I'm not exactly playing to win here.

My idea of a strategy is to attach the Dominus to the plasma Kataphrons, and advance towards the enemy with the grav Kataphrons firing from the back line. The Dominus will repair any Gets Hot wounds that occur and keep them going, and once the enemy are within flamer range he'll leave the squad and charge into melee

If I want to fill out a demi company formation what would you suggest?

I've got a captain, two tactical squads (one plasma, one grav) and I was planning on a quad lascannon devastator squad.
>>
>>50046633

Rule #1 of the Guard: One of anything is never worth taking, it's just a fire magnet.
Rule #2: Look at each unit and ask yourself "What will this squad do better than the alternatives?", if you can't answer that question then rework the squad.

Don't spend points on trying to gear Vets for CC because they'll never be not-terrible, any points spent on CC gearing are points wasted. Vets shoot and (in Chimeras) maneuver.
>>
>>50045134
Yeah, in my copy of the Codex.
>>
>>50046633
Once again.

You don't need camo netting, extra armour of fire barrels on Chimeras. They're cheap battle taxi's to get you from A-B. Keep them cheap.

Why is your PCS in a Chimera? If your troops are foot slogging have your PCS foot slog too.

Why do you have a Commissar in a Special Weapons squad? What's his purpose? Really. Why is he there? Why do they have sniper rifles? BS3 and sniper rifles is a terrible choice.

Why are you mixing special weapons in your veteran squad? Why are you giving the sergeant a power weapon? Why are you running melta vets without a Chimera?

You don't need camo netting or extra armour on a Leman Russ. Camo netting can be useful but extra armour is not worth it at all. A dozer blade is much better. Why does the vanquisher have melta sponsons? Why is it ever getting close enough to use them? Why aren't you running a tank commander in it?

Why does the Basilisk need an enclosed crew compartment?

Talk to me. Explain this shit.

CCS + Barebones Chimera.

PCS on foot. 3 Infantry Squads. Commissar and Vox in one of them. Blob together. Use FRFSRF and hold the line. If its a gunline consider getting some autocannons.

Heavy weapons teams regular missile launchers, Flakk isn't worth it. You could add your second Commissar to heavy weapons team to stop them running. If you need AA get more autocannons or a Hydra.

Special weapons team with sniper rifles sitting back field shooting. Special weapons team with 3x demo charges.

Veteran Squad + Barebones Chimera + 2x Melta. Do drivebys. Watch enemy armour die. Laugh.

Valkyrie becomes a Vendetta. Put special weapons demos in it and blow fuckers up while killing vehicles with Vendetta.

Vanquisher Tank Commander (Pask if you like). Lascannon and no sponsons. Give a standard Russ to accompany him. No sponsons. No Lascannon. Barebones russ.

Demolisher bare bones. Don't upgrade.

Basilisk remove enclosed crew compartment.

Should bring you to about 1460pts and makes your army far more deadly. I would try and find the points for a Primaris Psker to try and get Divination for twin linking your infantry blob.

That's why I hate it when GW gives you stats but no model. Pretty sure they did that with a Chaos Daemons model or two.

>>50047582
But is wasn't. Scions released alongside Codex: Astra Militarum, also called Imperial Guard 6th for those of us who aren't turbospergs. They replaced Storm Troopers as the Elites option in that codex.

They didn't get their spinoff until much later towards the beginning of 7th after their entire range had been on the market for a fair amount of time.

Maybe, or they might be part of some other supplement or Inquisition/Forces of Terra release or something of that nature. don't. Depending on how old you go, lead rot could be a problem.

I haven't played since 5th edition and I remember Tyranid bio-titan were being outclassed as far back as then. They changed the rules for vehicles and suddenly Baneblades were some of the baddest motherfuckers out there for how cheap they were.

Tyranids, on the other hand, went from being one of the most mobile armies to the least mobile. I watched as 6th edition failed to find a place for them, then dropped out of the game because I lost hope. Are the bugs still the unverse's punching bag all these years later?

>>
>>50048143
As I recall, in 5th they got a whole lot stronger because they had access to D strength plates - I think the 7" ones or whatever. It's been so long since I've played. The trick was that a Tyranid gargantuan creature cost a lot more, so if the apocalypse game wasn't too huge, you'd have yourself a heirodule getting focused down by the standard infantry. AP3 still gets trashed by your basic krak missiles.

The only way you were in luck as a Tyranid player was if you could afford a heirodule.

Baneblades, meanwhile, just blew everything to pieces and practically couldn't miss with how big the plates were. Tanks, infantry - anything but a super heavy was as good as dead, and the Baneblade itself was way more durable than it was supposed to be because 5th edition drastically reduced the odds of tanks taking serious damage in combat.

I wouldn't know about Baneblades in the current edition.

>>50048091
It's too late. I already don't have any hope. I'll know what Cruddace had against the Tyranids. I figured he played against Nidzilla in 4th one too many times, and then never tried playing the army for himself after he wrote the codex. He kinda nerfed lictors, of all things. He took their ability to ambush away, which was near gimmicky and useless as it was, but damnit it was all they had!

The lead in the miniature starts to oxidize, and eventually the model turns to dust. Washing, Priming and Sealing models (completely) was significantly more important because of it.

Or excuse me, you wanted a heirophant because it was tough enough to do real damage. A heirodule was too expensive, but having a heirodule gave you functional, reasonably priced, S10 anti-tank weapons, which was something the entire 5th edition codex didn't offer Tyranids.

I mean you could get it on a 270 point tyrannofex, but all it had was basically one lascanon.

What really burned me up was going from 4th edition apocalypse Trygon's to Cruddace's "my Guard flashlights can penetrate your skin now" stat block. It was a pretty solid nerfing down.

It does, and it's alright since its firing modes lend it versatility, and it's also a good deal cheaper than the Baneblade, but what it cannot do is ignore cover, which is what the Hellhammer and Stormsword both can do, nor ferry troops like the Stormlord, or unleash MAXIMUM DAKKA and pile on the saves, also like the Stormlord.

Eldar Ally Detachment

-Autarch Skyrunner - Banshee Mask, Fusion Gun, Shard of Anaris

-3x Jet Bikes

-9x Fire Dragons

Corpse Thief Claw

-5x Talos

The general theory of the list the Haemonculus hangs out with the Dragons along with the Autarch - they deep strike in and work as a pretty strong alpha strike element.

Obviously the Warriors just ride Venoms and fly around blasting stuff, they're fairly effective anti MC as well as anti horde choices.

The two Razorwings are just effective overall, they've got their bombs which are solid, good AT/AA with a secondary role as anti-infantry.

Finally the CTC just starts chugging across the table and forces the issue.

I know it isn't a top tier army but I feel like it can be a solid enough list, especially at local events. Thoughts?

No reason they can't. Can't turbo-boost or anything while in the unit but they can hang out. The idea is that he can late turn turbo out to contest objectives/he has a fusion gun if he needs to ride out and melt someone.

Total: 1500 points

Got trounced the other day while using this list, mostly because of some rules mistakes on both our parts and some poor deployment choices, but what do you think of the list?
>>
>>50048390
Does it hurt you when you think about that?

Literally hurts me when cool shit is lost forever.

I get sad as fuck thinking about those old cell phone games that are lost, too. Eats me up inside.

I'm not a cinema fan, but there's early movies that are lost forever as well. TV shows, too.

Hopefully GW has a fuckton of old models done up and shelved.
>>
So I just did the math and to finish my 1500 guard army will cost me 560 Canadian dollars.
Is there any way to make this cheaper?
>>
>>50048413

Well, the Talos are basically a guarantee that your DS will arrive before you get wiped. That's nice.

The problem I see with the list is that half of it is really really fast and the other half is a giant single-unit blob that can barely make it across the table before the end of the game. Which could be alright, but if your Venom Warriors get wiped you're probably close to fucked. Also the Fire Dragons will die after the turn they arrive so you better fucking hope they kill whatever it is you wanted them to kill.

One other option is you could remove some Fire Dragons and just stick the Autarch with some Reavers, giving him a bubble wrap and spreading your stuff more so you don't have basically 5 targets only for your enemy to shoot at (of which 4 are instantly going to die since they're DE lel).

TL;DR needs moar guys but maybe I'm wrong, if everything goes off exactly as planned you should be able to cripple everything that can fight back before they even get to shoot at your vulnerable stuff
>>
>>50048439

I'm also considering swapping the Dragons for Wraith Guard with D-Scythes too. It would make my DS bomb way more durable.
>>
is there a list of old gw minis where I can see old ones to search for on ebay to purchase?
>>
>>50048438
Warhammer is expensive as fuck. Have you factored in the tools you'll need? Paints?

Personally, I'd rather save up and buy sealed.

Some people buy shit used, though. You might be able to find an unpainted army for sale, but most people are shit at the building part of the hobby. Keep that in mind.
>>
>>50048239

I'm started my second dedicated army. I got all my infantry and just need vehicles.
Specifically leman russ exterminators, basiliks, armoured sentinels and chimeras.
I'm fine with buying leman russes and sentinels for retail as I need a specific load out but would love to save on basiliks and chimera as they're so generic

>>
>>50048490
Someone post that miniatures trading website. I can't remember what it's called.

Also, check eBay.
>>
>>50048460

Yeah that's also a good idea. The only problem to keep in mind there is that IIRC Wraithguard don't have Fleet. Or maybe they do. Either way they're slow as fuck considering they're going to be on foot after they drop.

Between Wraithguard and the 5 Talos you'd actually have a pretty tough list, though.
>>
>>50048493
It might be, havent even heard it. + if "better" means "scarier" then theres no fucking way Im touching that game dude, I was already scared so shitless that I made Sovietwomble look like a fucking hero.
>>
>>50048516

Ultimately I don't mind them being a slow element once they get put in position with a no scatter deep strike.

With the 4 venoms and Bike squad I have 5 fast ObSec units - additionally with the swap to Wraiths I actually save points (because I no longer need to buy shard of anaris) so I can snag a 2nd bike squad.
>>
>>50048274
And then I7 was Genestealers.

And people now are bitching because they're actually merely viable in shooty edition. Fucking pansy gunline cockgobblers deserve every auto-loss to a turn 1 6 on Cult Ambush they get, it's absolute nirvana drinking their tears of anal devastation. Spoiled newfags have never had to play an edition that requires tactical thinking and feel entitled to win because they brought an OP netlist they don't know how to pilot against melee.
>>
>>50048525
Alien: Isolation is the feeling you get when you're running from something and don't know if you're gonna get grabbed.

The Evil Within is that oppressive feeling you get when you play Silent Hill. It's scary. It's not bad if you're a jaded, but I screamed like a little bitch.

What's nice is that it gets less and less oppressive as the game goes on. By the end, it's straight up action..

You grow with the protagonist. As he gets hardened, so do you. With Alien: Isolation, you always feel like the victim. Once you get your shit together, they throw multiple at you. It's brutal.
>>
>>50048571

In my experience Venom Warrior squads don't work that well for sitting on objectives, even though they're Obsec. Your two options are basically 1) dump the Warriors in cover and hope they don't die or 2) fly in on turn 5 and hope they don't die

>>50048580

>tfw no flamers
>>
>>50048589

Of course they don't sit, they fly around all game and dump in at the last turn.

>>50048632
Can you explain this in noob? I don't know shit about the rules.
>>
>>50048642

Sure it happens but for the most part you should be out ranging goobery shit like that. You've got a 36" range which means you should always be able to shoot marines without being shot by anything other than their heavy weapon in return.
>>
>>50047214
What the fuck, I just did the math and these guys die to half their points worth in fucking Skitarii.

I get that the guns are made to deal damage to high toughness targets, but how can MCs do fairly against these guys? The other end of the scale is a Wraithknight, which still dies to 300 pts. worth of Skitarii, but that's roughly the same cost AND Jet Pack creature means he's zoom zooming out of range.

But with 12" deployment, scout, and 18" range, with the possibility of even further repositioning- warlords traits and the like- MCs can get deleted before they can do anything. I know ones that should be Walkers like the Tau stuff and Eldar deserve all the punishment they get, but Rending and all its variants kinda dick over MCs that don't need any more pain, like Deldar or Nids. Is their a way to balance it, or should cancer guns stay where they are?
>>
>>50048661
She dies from S6 because double Toughness grants Instant Death. Eternal Warrior negates instant death, taking only 1 wound off instead.
>>
>>50048661
Toughness 3 (meaning she is Instant Killed by anything with double that in Strength, so S6 or higher) with no Eternal Warrior (immunity to instant death), so basically anything with decent strength will just fucking body her.
>>
>>50048661
She's supposed to be tough but has the resiliency of a Guardsman, albeit with a 2+ armor save ( the best in the game).

She lacks the Eternal Warrior rule so weapons of S6 or higher (the multi/scatter laser or the humble plasma gun) will kill her instantly without giving two shits about how many woudns she has. Yes, she can come back from the dead, but only once a game.

This said, she's beastly in melee as long as she doesn't go up against other 2+ saves. If hidden in a unit of Seraphim/allied Vanguard Veterans she can be good.
>>
>>50048688
So she sucks?
>>
>>50048691
Get her in melee and she can do alright from what Ive seen. I dont play Sisters.
>>
>>50048687

I'm not a fan of the PE. It's just too fragile to live long enough to get to the range where it starts tearing shit up. If it does, it will rape most things, but I've played games where I've blown up two with a single autocannon before. At the same time.

>the monobuild
Probably Sisters in Immolators, three Exorcists and Outflanking melta Dominions. Jacobus as the HQ.
>>
>>50048616
>>50048691

>>50048618 is correct. A single 1 against Scatter Lasers and she's dead. Surround her with Seraphim. When she reaches combat, she will mulch MEQ because 5 WS7 I7 S5 MC power weapon attacks with a 2+/4++ save. Keep her away from 2+ or 3++, though. She also comes back from the dead. Once.

All in all, she's a powerhouse for 135 points, but not the unstoppable goddess she was in older editions. She's usually the goto choice for HQ.

In laymans noobie terms, she's good, yes.

I don't mean rad weapons specifically, but it really does look like Monster Mashes can't be good- though they still seem fun- as long as the other person can just drop down an army of Vanguard or other cheap, spammable auto-wound weapons and ruin their day.

True, making it 350 points or so would be a great bump, but it still doesn't fix a whole lot- the thing dies, and it dies before it does any damage, and now those 350 points were totally wasted. I don't really play with MCs, playing Skitarii mainly is what led me to wonder about this, but I don't like the fact an entire class of unit can be demolished by near-guardsmen cheap units turn 1. But hey, I guess I'll take the kills where I can take them

3 Questoris knights with all possible weapons.
Cerastus Lancer
Cerastus Acheron
Cerastus Castigator
Mechanicum Cerastus Atropos

Don't say that.

I used to be good. Really good, actually. Best I got was 7th out of 62 people in a huge local tournament. However, that was a long time ago. My LGS closed down, everyone I had to play with vanished into the aether except one guy, and I was SoL for about 5 years.

I'm pretty terrible, now, and I have no choice but to admit it. This edition is a shit storm, and I have no sails. The game is barely picking up, but I've played about 10 games in 5 months. I've lost every single game except for 2, which were against my one friend who was always kinda bad.

If you have people to play with, you will be better than me in no time flat.
>>

I hate how people get salty as fuck over stupid shit like rolls or rules. I don't like more than half the fags at my local hobby store.

It's gonna test my patience. I don't want to be that guy who argues and shit, but I won't be treated like a little bitch.

People get emotional over fucking nothing, and then I get choked up by association.

I'd rather just play casual as fuck and avoid anyone who exhibits any kinda shitty behaviour.

Raider w/ Dark Lance, Splinter Racks, Night Shields - 90pts
-10 Kabalite Warriors, 1 Splinter Cannon – 95pts

6 Reavers w/ 2 Caltrops – 116pts

Venom w/ 2 Splinter Cannon – 70 pts
-5 Trueborn w/ 2 Splinter Cannons – 85pts

Voidraven Bomber – 160pts

Total: 995

The first raider is to a leadership bomb on deathstars or walkers (I'm probably playing against greyknights), and the rest just kinda jets around the field blowing stuff up. Anything I'm missing?

Give her a squad of seraphim and they are pretty versatile and effective.

I used to prefer go Uriah with a blob, but last few games she's growing on me more and more. Just bought another 10 squad of seraphim based on the fun I've had with her.

Good luck.

I /want/ to play like that, but I'm clinically depressed. It's also hard to enjoy the game when your army is noticeably weaker than everything else. Sure, it was always an uphill battle, but that hill turned into a cliff.

I really hope find some good people.

>>50048707
You'll need to use 3 to make the PE work but they pack a punch once you learn how to get them in.

I have Major Depressive Disorder and dysthymia, as well as other mental illnesses. Diagnosed. I know that feel so fucking well.

Hope you feel better soon, man.

Get some meds. I'm on a max dose of venlafaxine and buproprion. Maybe try those out.

Side effects go away after a few months. Try out different meds till you find one that works.

If you live in America and don't have coverage, then that just sucks dick.

As much as I would like to also Leadership bomb, most armies are essentially immune or auto-pass the test. Read the description on the fear grenades. Space Marines (Grey Knights included) have "And they shall know no fear" while Tyranids have synapse creatures giving fearless, and Daemons get a pseudo-fearless, I'm pretty sure Eldar get some fearless shit, so essentially leadership bombing only works on Tau and IG. If you've already bought the Voidraven, see if they'll let you proxy it as a Razorwing Jetfighter. The Voidraven is gorgeous, but the Razorwing is a much better plane for the points. With those saved points you can buy blasters for your trueborn instead of Splinter Cannons. Reavers are good with the Caltrops, but I'd also suggest Blasters. Keep the 10 Warrior in a raider squad cheap. Run 10 Splinter Rifles instead of 9+Cannon. Use those points to buy blasters where you need them.

Is a Necron army with a few five or six man Tombblades squads and some Deathmarks viable?

They are some of the models that interested me the most.

Right now I have 10 immortals, 20 warriors, 2 Ghost Arks, 2 Overlords, 2 Triarch Stalkers and a Cryptek.

My playgroup consists of two Space Marine players, a Dark Angel bike army, Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar and Tau.

Yuuup. That's me. I can't officially add dysthymia to my list because I haven't been to a doctor in oh, 14 years? However, the symptoms are all there.

In full, I was diagnosed with major depression and bipolar when I was like 6 years old and saw various doctors until I was like 13 or so (don't actually remember when I stopped). The thing is that bipolar doesn't fit anything I've read about it. I've never felt the crazy manic highs people always talk about. Mood swings, sure, but feeling invincible and top of the world? Hardly. I've always either felt like shit or felt like worse shit.

Maybe I am, and my highs are just so low that I don't notice and just get all the negatives.

>If you live in America and don't have coverage, then that just sucks dick.

That's me. It's awesome because I make too much money for assistance, but not enough to afford it on my own.

Currently, I have an obsession with warhammer again, but I don't have a real outlet for it. My paints are dried out, I can't afford new ones, I don't want to paint my sisters my old scheme that I've been painting for forever and can't decide on a new one, and I can't really afford to get new models, but I've been buying shit anyway to support my new lgs that is actually new.

>Is a Necron army with a few five or six man Tombblades squads and some Deathmarks viable?

Tomb Blades can be good, especially against jinking armies like Ravenwing and Dark Eldar.
They can be a bit fragile but most people will be glad you arent taking Destroyers and Wraiths.

>Right now I have 10 immortals, 20 warriors, 2 Ghost Arks, 2 Overlords, 2 Triarch Stalkers and a Cryptek.

i am sure you know that you could run a Reclamation Legion soon and I am pretty sure there is an Auxillery that is just a unit of Deathmarks. You would lose your second overlord, stalkers and cryptek though but it would really help Tombblade and small size troop units to survive more.

>My playgroup consists of two Space Marine players, a Dark Angel bike army, Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar and Tau.

Astartes and Tau should get the Decurion throne at them. Any other match ups you can run a simple CAD with the same units and be just as safe.

Unfortunately Stalkers are locked out of the decurion without taking the Judicators Battalion or whatever.

How's this?

Raider w/ Dark Lance, Splinter Racks, Night Shields – 90 pts
-Archon w/ Blaster, Webway Portal – 110pts
-9 Kabalite Warriors – 72 pts

Raider w/ Dark Lance, Splinter Racks, Night Shields - 90pts
-10 Kabalite Warriors – 80pts

6 Reavers w/ 2 Caltrops, 2 Blasters – 146pts

Venom w/ 2 Splinter Cannon – 70 pts
-5 Trueborn w/ 2 Splinter Cannons – 85pts

5 Scourges w/ 3 Blasters -125

Razorwing jetfighter – 130pts

Total: 998

It's all proxied (for now) because the club's supposed to be a way of getting people into the game, so no real limitations on the models.

I didn't know fearless was so common, so dropping the leadership bomb is a good idea. I'll try to keep the webway portal because it's just kinda of funny to me. Unless it's just a stupid idea, I think it'll be cool to just pop out of nowhere and massacre some unit with a dark lance, a blaster, and 18 twin-linked splinter shots.

Is the venom really not better off as a long-range turret, basically? It can deal 6 wounds, on average, from 36", and it's kind of the only long-range thing that I have, other than the flier.

P.S. I only have the Solarite because I was 10pts under and didn't know where else to put it. The extra leadership might be okay, I guess.
>>
>>50050068
Scratch that part about the Solarite; I made a mistake with the points, cut it out, and I forgot to edit the post.
>>
>>50050068
It's not that fearless is common, it's rules that are similar to it. The best units in the DE codex (without Haem Covens) are Reavers, Venoms, Scourges, and Kabalites. The list looks great. You can squeeze 4 haywire blasters(which is the limit per 5) onto the Scourges if you switch them from the blasters. They can move 12 inches in the movement phase and tear through vehicles. Give the Trueborn Blasters even if it's only 2. They have a better chance to get rid of stuff you don't like over the Splinter Cannon. Other than that, losing that second Archon did you a huge favor points wise.

The Webway portal is a great tool, but I prefer it on Archons paired with Incubi or haemonculus formations. Get right in the enemy's face. If you put it on that gunboat, you'll arrive, be unable to move, and sure you'll get your shots off, but the paper airplane of a transport we have will get cracked open, guaranteed.

The venom is tricky to master. You want it just out of range of the enemy, but close enough for you to unleash hell. The 5+ invuln is a great help for that, don't forget you have it. Venoms pumping out 12 shots is great. I had it blow up a C'tan on the first turn. As for the "sergeant" upgrades, I don't think they're worth it most of the time.

>tfw wyches are my favorite unit

Feels like shit, man. I love Wyches in the lore, and I would LOVE to see a Supplement: Wych Covens. However, I know that'll never happen.

Instead, I have about $360 worth of Deldar I haven't found the energy to assemble yet sitting at my desk. Before you ask, there's only one box of wyches and a succubus.
>>
>>50050184
Good call on the haywire blasters on the scourges; I essentially had it in mind that they'd be vehicle hunting.

What's the plan behind the incubi and the webway portal? They can't assault after they deepstrike, right (serious question, I didn't think they could)? Do you just portal behind a building and try to not get shot before you run out next turn and assault?
>>
Bought some used models that have an enamel paint on them.

Can I strip them like acrylics?

That's ok, I also bought about $300 in DE at once. So far only 20 Kabs, 2 Archons, 1 Haemonculus are painted and I'm working on pic related. I love wyches, I want to use them, but they're so shit in the current dex.

>>50050265
>Incubi and webway
Yeah, basically deepstrike behind a building, pray that the enemy takes the bait, and comes to you. OR. Or, you can DS behind a building, wait a turn, then come out from behind the building and charge out of the Venom, since it is a fast, open topped skimmer. Don't charge through terrain, though. No frag grenades, so you'd be at initiative 1.
>>
>>50050353
Oh, okay, the venom makes a lot of sense.
That's a cool idea; I'll try it out. Should I put any gear that should be on the Archon, like a huskblade, soul trap, or something? The shadowfield seems kinda cool, but I guess it's probably just cheesy and probably not worth the points. The artefacts also seem a little underwhelming, as far as I can tell.
>>
>>50050353
On the bright side, that thing looks really, really good. Any pics of the rest of the army?

I like the Agonizer. I've considered trying it with a soul trap because it's user strength, and because when attacking strength is higher than the targets toughness, you can reroll failed wounds. Stacking the strength could prove worthwhile.
Shadowfield is EXTREMELY worth the points. Note that when it fails, it lasts until the END OF THE PHASE. So you can keep using the 2++ until the end of that shooting/psyker/assault phase. The artifacts CAN be useful, but are very situational.

>>50050408
Thanks! Sure, here's the Haemonculus, and I'll follow up with the Archons, then Kabs.

>only a bunch of painted models

The only models I have painted are from before my old LGS shut down, which is my SoB army. My paint is all dead, which sucks because GW paint is significantly more expensive than it used to be.

My love of Deldar came from their 5th Ed drop. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford it back then. I started playing again, impulse bought a bunch of shit, and kinda regret it because they're so bad it's hard want to do stuff with them.

Anyway, good job on that. I don't really like the idea of a super slow do-nothing in a turbo speed army, so I didn't get any.

>>50050458

I like Agonizers, too. Toyed around with pic related.

I've been trying to work Haem Covens into my DE list because we're supposed to be fast and furious, but we're rushed and slightly annoying instead. The threat of a freshly deep-striked Dark Artisan is nice.

Eh. Talos/Cronos are both $50, and I really don't see what the big deal is with them besides being tough. You can just ignore them.

The formation that takes 5 Talos is disgusting for sure. I like the models, so even if I don't use them in games all that much, they're great models.

I honestly don't see it. How do they even reach CC?
