I think Poots is going to do a pre-Black Friday announcement for a second Kickstarter. I think he's trying to fund a second release. How he doesn't have the raw cash sitting around to do that on his own is beyond me. Black Friday alone from last year should have funded any future plans of his.
>>
>>50036831
How much do you reckon it will be?

When you live in Australia you have to compensate for a lot of faff.

Hard to say. If it's anything like the first run you can get it for cheap (compared to the store price) if you back it on Kickstarter when he presumably starts his second campaign. During the first campaign $85 USD was the cheapest pledge that got you the base game. Now I'm not sure if the game those backers received were the same ones you get from the store which was like $400 USD but it came with a shit ton of minis. The game is prohibitively expensive for anyone that isn't a dedicated fan.

Chances are a Wave 2 is going to do something similar but I honestly have no idea what the price points will be. Maybe it will be cheaper this time around if he casts everything in Hard Plastic as opposed to resin. The only information we have so far comes from an email he sent out in June that confirmed a second release and one from this month talking about a Kickstarter update.

I have a fucking crate full of KD:M miniatures worth probably $400 I don't have the balls to even touch. My main concern is that the singles are made of resin. I don't even know if that resin will survive a stripping if I fuck up the paint job. I'm not even convinced those resin mini's are tabletop worthy. Some of those parts just look so brittle. I wish everything came in hard plastic.
>>
Are the models easily magnetizable?

It'd be cool if you could change sets to match on the fly.
>>
I have no money and I must scream. I wish I had a sugardaddy. I'm having trouble just trying to get $400 for black friday.

Let's guess stretch goals, ones that will probably be put up.

>New Individual models, ~$30 per pledge
>New Sets, + ~$50 per pledge
>Base Game, ~$70-80
>Base + Expansions from previous Edition, ~$200
>Base + Expansions + "Surprise", ~$400
>Base + Expansions + "Surprise" + Actual Surprise once Poots has got a fuck ton of money, $600+

Surprise will probably be some lore friendly promo stuff included (Maybe not Nurse, but stuff like Frogdog, Griphon, Forsaker, etc.)

>>

Fuck dude, I don't even play this game, but I want that model so bad. Last I checked the dang model goes for like $100 on eBay.
>>
>>50037215
If you paint with acrylics, it's super easy to strip them and re-paint. Simple Isopropal alcohol should work for basically all brands except Tamiya primer

Though if you're new to mini painting I definitely wouldn't start with KD models.
>>
>>50039270
Fuck, if your even close I might actually do that for $200. I really want this game but no ones willing to go in on a $400 game (plus I want the models.)
>>
>>50039725
I'm still waiting on that and Thief and storm knight to be restocked
>>
>>50038942
The only major items that haven't been fulfilled are Lantern Festival and the digital artbook, and the festival has been reworked a couple times.

>>50039270
$80 wouldn't even cover the costs for the game without any models and its shipping, you silly goose.

Frogdog, Griphon, and Fox were already confirmed to be for future expansions.

>>50039725
>>50040121
Resin models are only contracted for a few molds, which is why they only get 500 copies. Chances are that the Classes and Knights are going to eventually get plastic remakes, much like the witches did.
>>
>>50040427

If he sold the game without minis, he wouldn't be in his right mind to charge over $40. Seriously.

For hard plastic models I would give or take an extra $40-60 sure.

From a consumer stand point I mean.
>>
>>50040716
You underestimate how much paper product the game contains. It's roughly 15 lbs. without the models, and the card material isn't the cheap flimsy shit like Cards Against Humanity uses.

Shit, D&D rulebooks are 40-50 bucks, son.
>>
>>50040716
He sold the game at Gencon without any minis for 100$ and it sold out on the first day
>>
Assuming money is no issue, is this game worth picking up? It looks really interesting!

I've heard some fantastic stories about the game. If he does attempt to fund a Wave 2 I really hope Poots figured out solutions to his logistical nightmares. He wasn't ready for the sheer volume that was Wave 1 and people were still getting shipments months after release. A Wave 2 would only be worse considering support for the game has at least doubled since the original Kickstarter. So yeah, if you want to weather the shit storm with everyone else I'd highly recommend it. Watch some videos of the gameplay if you need more convincing.
>>
>>50044145
Poots has learned a lot from the trials of the original kickstarter, to say the least.

General question in game seeing as though this is a general somewhat;

I've begun to like whips more over the paste few sessions, been a useful utility + weapon, what's the most useful armour set and SFA/FA's to focus on a whip build?

Currently using Silk Whip, Goat set but missing the legs, and using the Man Hunters lantern for affinities for whip. Has that one disorder where I can't use any edge weapons, OoD and Vengeance.

Also, Fist and Tooth fighter/tank build -- worth it or not?
>>
>>50049910
Everyone should have fist and tooth.

Most useful armour is Rawhide.
>>
What the fuck is this game?

I remember seeing this shit ages ago, tons and tons of hype threads. '
Lurking in these threads, I literally cannot figure out what's going on.

Is it a board game? Is it a table top rpg like shadowrun or dungeons and Dragons? Is it even in stock?

How does the game work?
One of you shills fill me in. I want in on the Kingdom Death club. I wanna buy this shit
>>
>>50050095
It's a board game with both RPG and Civ elements where you control survivors in a bizarre and horrific land of monsters and little else. You gotta kill dem monsters to harvest their organs to make everything you need to survive.

It's also hard as fuck, hence the name.

I personally think it's more XCOM + Monster Hunter with a bit of Geiger flair.

Posting a list of Poots plans during interviews/news from Gencon for those who missed it, forgot, etc.

>Second Kickstarter will be KDM 1.4, stand alone book and cards will be available for purchase for those running 1.31 and below.

>Mega package of base and original expansions is UNLIKELY (It may still happen) due to shipping and weight.

>Lantern Festival
Scrapped and reworked due to balancing issues,
(probably not available during the kickstarter or sometime after IMHO)

>Invaders (Working Title)
Take the role of 4 veteran survivors randomly generated to invade a "pre-existing" settlement, where "You will fight against a Hero or Chieftain as the first boss of the game, killing him will have an effect on the settlement that you've taken over."

>Nightmare Ram is pretty much guaranteed first expansion after this kickstarter (Interviews saying only art assets were needed, but development may say otherwise)

>Frogdog and Gryphon will be expansions, Pariah as a new nemesis.

>Screaming God is still being worked on but is on the top of Adam's priority list.

>Sunstalker and Dragonking reprints

Play with people who play Warhammer or D&D and stuff like that but are really into it - like they are aware of major lore and the nitty gritty of it.

It's not those who only play family friendly board games, or those who don't like a bit of meta gaming. You can't fix a normie so you have to go looking for people interested in it.

Because it's not really a board game as such, but more of a small scale hobby.

The game was also considerably smaller when he put up the $100 for core game pledge level.

Knowing what he does now, I'd be shocked if he set the pledge for the core game anywhere bear that. The molds are already accounted for, for the minis, so the biggest cost now is the materials cost for all the cards. As you said, it's hard to know what he'll charge. If I had to guess, I might be able to see the core game going as low as $275 for early backers, and $325-350 for basic.

Yeah but can you surge during a monster flow and knock it on it's ass with throwing knives?

Out first blind playthrough had us using dual axes on a ambidextrous survivor, later on we put her in phoenix armor and the mini was hyyye. Dual wielding is still probably the coolest looking minis that you can build. Then one downside to living the Zanbato life is that it's kind of hard to get the same cool dynamic poses without it looking ridiculous.

So like, what's the realistic expectation of prices for the base game and expansions?

Seeing as though there's a little disparity of information.

Did a little research and saw that Poots is claiming to have better production this time, so I might buy some of the expansions later.
>>
>>50052936
Lots.

I expect a 100 dollar no-mini version. Maybe 150. Expansions will still be price I'm sure.
>>
>>50053314
>I expect a 100 dollar no-mini version
For that price it won't have cardboard pieces either
>>
>>50052936
After surviving the initial shit storm, I'm sure Poots is going to be far more prepared for the next wave. I'd expect no less than $150 as a low ball estimate which would include the cards and rulebooks. Chances are any minis that come with the basic game are just going to be the basic survivors in hard plastic at best. There's nothing indicating any plans for cardboard tokens or stand-ups but they would make the game a lot more accessible due to a lower cost so I'd be down for that.
>>
>>50036761
Can someone please tell me what's going on in this picture?
>>
>>50053738
Again, most of the cost comes from the 15 pounds of nice cardstock being used.

The plastic minis are sold on their own at a significant markup as an easy way to generate revenue. Removing minis from the game will not reduce the price all that much.
>>
any chance of an art book releasing?
>>
>>50054003
White speaker, basically cult story tellers

>>50054113
Poots mentioned it might be a reward or stretch goal in the new Kickstarter

>>50052936
With minis I doubt he'd lower the price much, I'd say lowest you'd see it would be 325-350.
>>
>>50050095
It's a campaign style cooperative board game. The setting would make a great Blades in the Dark hack.

I don't know why someone can't just answer this question normally, but we have spazzes saying $400 for a board game without minis is worth the price because it's so good.
>>
>>50053366
If poots produced a decent quantity at once of the non-mini parts of the game it wouldn't be an issue to meet that price.

But he's pretty famous for having a terrible head for business and letting himself get screwed by his molders let alone to printers.

After a demo with Poots, the first friend immediately preordered for $250 or $300, can't remember.

After a game, another friend immediately bought a copy at $400.

It's fun.
>>
>>50043755
I have had about 12 people play the game at some point, and all of them immediately checked the shop for it afterwards. They all complained more about it being sold out than they do about the price.

$400 is steep for a buy in, forba single game, but it has a really nice group dynamic, plays differently each time, and a single, full campaign can give you weeks of game time. Also, the quality is really solid.

If you have the spare funds, I'd say it is totally worth it.

On average a new KD miniature will cost me about €25, with €28 in shipping.
And that's not even counting the 21% customs charge I get on top of that.

So Australia and Europe are mostly in the same boat here.

It is, but it gives me a great excuse to buy several miniatures at a time.
The cost of shipping is pretty much flat if you're only looking at a few miniatures, up to 2 or 4 pounds I think.

Go above that and it ramps up quite steeply, but usually UPS or FedEx become an option then, which are also expensive, just not as horribly as USPS is.

The price you pay for being in the EU when you want Kingdom Death stuff really.

What kind of survivors should be fighting a level 2 lion?

I'm going to run a demo game with friends on a stream for extra life, and I want to run an exciting experience where the survivors aren't guaranteed to win, but have a good shot.

I'm thinking each survivor a weapon master, two random martial arts, 1 random disorder, and giving them a mix of rawhide, lion pelt and leather armors, with no area unarmored.

Does that sound about right? Its been a while since I've played.
>>
>>50037239

How did that part of the broken dagger end up there?
Damn, I hate when you ignore stuff like this like an artist. Its like telling your audience "your to retarded to get that the dagger is broken, and now Ill have to show you!".
>>
>>50057936
A pair of armies for warhammer can easily be 400 total, and that's for pretty small games.

>>50058086
If you're going to demo with 13+ XP survivors, you want to demo with something a bit more interesting then the lion, since most groups end up fighting a lot of lions early. Antelope isn't threatening enough, phoenix is too hard to balance around and somewhat comples, and you don't want to spoil any of the nemesis fights.

The best option would be an expansion monster. Gorm would be good since it's not a crazy complex fight. DBK, while cool, is a bit too complex for beginners to demo and not really monstery enough.
>>
>>50059294

Why not Butcher or Manhunter?

Both are relatively strong with some good mechanics that reflect KDM well imho.

(waiting to be accused of shilling)

RIGHT NOW, the Armor Kit Bundle is still available on the KD site for USD $125. That's every survivor in the game (minus the 4 iconics), plus sprues from 4 expansions. For those of you who love to hate Games workshop for their prices, it works out to USD $2.80 per figure. Which is Bones-level prices.
>>
How do you handle casual drop ins? Im currently running a game with my gf (we each control 2 chars each, we also live together so its easy to arrange a game), but i will be having more friends interested to come in from time to time, although to arrange a weekly thing will be difficult. Think more like 1 or 2 guys coming in once a month.

I was thinking of rather than starting a new settlement everytime new people come down, just doing a little training session by letting them fight a tutorial lion, with our 2 veteran characters jumping in only to help when they're in trouble, and after that just continuing on with our current campaign. Perhaps they can use our old equipment that we've outgrown or something

Already said.

>KDM - Ringtail Fox Expansion
>KDM - Black Knight Expansion
>KDM - Gryphon Expansion
>KDM - Frogdog Expansion
>KDM - Storm Knight Expansion (how a survivor can become a hero)
Fucking Hype.

>KDM - Lantern Festival (being reworked from the ground up, might focus on towns instead of settlements)
inb4 Festival is KDM 2.0

>KDM - Custom Campaign Book (for mixing our current expansions, supported with new story events)
Neat, might get it just for art book if it doesn't add much else.

>KDM - Rust Ocean (area where Architects are from)
Sunstalker/Dragon King like expansion maybe?
>>
>>50064338

Extra tidbits;
>KD:Q - Kingdom Death Quest, a PVC game for mass market (gonna try distro with this!)
I think this is where the confusion with the budget game is, it's supposedly a cheaper Kingdom Death experience, but not Monster - if that makes sense.

>KD:T - Titan, a deck building game, its perspective far pulled far back to the greater entity level.
Sounds cool, I'll probably give it a miss though.

>KD:L - Labyrinth, the game that highlights Twilight Knights, White Speakers and other hero level classes.
Cool, hopefully it'll be like Bloodborne.

>KD:2D - A retro cinematic platformer, with GORGEOUS hand made sprite animation.
Not my forte, but some may like it.

>MALE PINUPS

Flower knight would probably be a good fight. His low toughness and HP is made up for by the risk entailed by ganging up on him in the flower circle, and fighting him on his own turf. Also, the flower circle and the mini both look really, really pretty, so you have.

Maybe spidicules, since it replaces the antelope on the timeline. Can be fought by beginners, but doesn't add too many crazy rules. Also, the mini - while a pain to play with - is very visually impressive for a stream, not to mention the terrain, and ever-growing spiderling horde.
>>
>>50064731

iirc you can add Spidicules later to timeline, say year 3 by following the "Updating your current campaign" section in the booklet.
>>
>>50064858
>>50064731
Spider is cool but not super "Iconic"

I would make them fight Antelope since you never hunt it anyway because poots is a bit retarded and made the rewards SHIT.

That or Butcher, because nothing is morefun than a trip to Hack City and not being able to wound him.

Don't do Flower Knight unless you're packing bandages, he's neat but losing guys to Bleed can make new players not enjoy it.
>>
>>50065292
This. Both on design choice and enemy choice.

Love the Screaming Goat set so much. It's just a fucking pain to make because you get 1 pelt for every 10 organs it seems.

And yeah, Bleeding is a little hardcore to be exposed to during your first game. IMHO, Iconic would be Phoenix, but that's because it's the tipping point for games I've found - either you fuck up hard, or you get some bat shit crazy strong members afterwards. Had my special child going from nearly ceasing to exist back to a child once.

Does ambidextrous/paired and bloodpaint stack or no?

Because if it does; Cleaver has easily become my favourite weapon.
>>
>>50066149
I will check my rulebook and find out since I have insomnia anyway.

You have to get 2 Cleavers though. I think you only get 1 from doing the butcher with a good roll.
So you'd have to do him twice.

I think.
>>
>>50066513
Thanks and yeah, played against him in the last session and got the roll where he drops his cleaver. Won't see him until maybe LY 10 or 12 iirc.

2 of our guys died and we have cannibalism so we got the spare resources for bloodpaint; in hopes that it would stack.
>>
>>50066561
>Blood Paint & Paired. With 2 Lion Beast Katars and Blood Paint, you would active blood paint and make a single attack at speed 4, then blood paint would activate the other Lion Beast Katar at speed 2. You cannot use the paired rule for the second Lion Beast Katar, because... "A survivor gains the benefit of a weapon's special rules only once, no matter how many copies they have." - On page 45 under Duplicate Gear. You could, however. Have two different paired weapons and blood paint. It would be an investment of 5 gear cards tho!
>>

That can be a double edged sword, though. Spitting out that many attacks is a great way to risk hitting the Trap card, losing all of them, and getting a beatdown for your trouble.

Final boss spoilers, for those that haven't played it yet: If you trigger both of Watcher's trap cards, you die instantly
>>
I have a question about Gorment Sleeves;

It states;
> [G][G]: Guard without spending Survival

But Guard gives a Nemesis (Kings Man) +5 Toughness and is the only mention of it in the rulebook?

Is it meant to say Dodge/block?
>>
>>50068575
I'd get it if I had the base game, can't really justify it as it is.
>>
>>50066149
>>50068579

Your weapon speed should ideally be 1 less than the range of how deep you can look and rearrange hit location cards. Each additional attack adds stacking a flat percentile chance that the entire action is negated with a trap card effect. If you are not consistently wounding with the attacks, you will trigger additional reflex effects - many of which are simply more attacks.

In a game where RNG rewards you with small boons but punishes with death, you want to lower the RNG as much as possible.
>>
>>50068715
I backed the game, so I'm covered on that front.
Though the Dark Paladin has nothing to do with Kingdom Death: Monster, it's a normal miniature release.
The only "game content" I got this time is the Halloween Survivors in the Halloween Pack and item that's included with the Wetnurse Pin-up.

I also have the "Role Survivors" for the Lion Knight Expansion for instance, which provide alternate models actually showing the costumes for that particular monster event.

But not all attacks are going to connect?

If you got a speed 4 weapon with +5 to hit, you'd be lucky to have more than 2 hits in total.

So you get one attack of 8 dice (with 4 hits on average) and then another 4 dice (with 2 hits on average). So 4 hits with the chance to pop trap, then 2 hits with the chance to pop trap.

From those first 4 hits in a 22 card deck, you've got a bit over 1 in 5 chance to hit the trap, and if you don't; you've got a 1 in 9 with the next 2 attacks anyway.

So with a little choppy and drunken math, if I could land 6 hits, with 1/~6 chance to hit a trap, I would take it and then bait out the trap if it wasn't hit.

That's just me though. I also wouldn't do this on my DPS, it'd probably be my off tank / Twilight drone.

Not trying to start beef or anything, just saying.
>>
>>50036636
The setting might be interesting if it wasn't so pointless.

Why make models and backstories for characters who are literally dead and gone when the players encounter them? Why so much setting lore about things the players of the game set there will never have a chance to encounter.

And why have a 'immortal heroes' game variant when they are so up their own ass about everything being pointless and your actions always amounting to absolutely nothing?
>>
>>50068867
You can risk it, sure. That's the thing though, it's always going to be risky. It will pay off sometimes, but it's always going to be "loose". Our playgroup has a survivor use high attack builds before, but that survivor tends to be replaced pretty frequently.

Aren't enough what? Models?

KDM kind of prides itself on being non-traditional so there's that as well.

Really opened question because your idea of "Traditional" might be vastly different to what everyone elses is.

Yes there aren't enough models.

Like traditional armor and stuff. Lots of it seems to be kind of tattered "prehistoric" esque armor, which seems appropriate since the game kinda seems to have a State of Nature feel to me.

Don't necessarily focus on the traditional aspect.I just would like a lot more models in that vein or at least quality and creativeness for Pathfinder, DnD, etc. [And maybe a homebrewed Bloodborne set game and/or a cyberpunk one]

Are bone darts a meme? Seems like every first timer makes them because of "Range" despite the fact that you can just hunt a level 1 Lion year 2 and make a Bow.

Why would you make anything but the Axe?
>>
>>50083593
Because most people hunt Gorm Year 2 for Gaxe/Rib Blade or the set itself.

Bow is also cumbersome; not moving to attack can hurt if you managed to get fucked over for some reason.

I usually do year 1-2 Lion, Year 3 Spider or something different so my players get a new look.

Year 4 Butcher, 5 Manhunter..

>>
>>50084179

Because that set, and bloodpaint, are super useful and can last a good portion of the game - the head and body gear alone are fantastic, minus their odd affinity placement outside of the set.

>Muh negro. Only time I don't feel sad when one of my guys dies is to him.
Seriously. I find him to be absolutely brutal. A real challenge for early game survivors. I really like how he interrupts your settlement building to challenge you as well. Very thematic, very cool, I was iffy about buying him too because I felt he didn't really fit into KD but I'm so happy that I did.

The early game silk is pretty amazing, I must say.

>>50084179

Demo guy here. I think I'm going to go with butcher in the end. TO me, it's the iconic point of the game. The first thing that hunts YOU, the survivors. I have a lot of experience with it, have a good idea whats 'par' for gear (i want this to be fun and cinematic. all the better if its gory), and can narrate him for extra entertainment.

Plus, the butcher, next to the forsaker, are my absolute favorite parts of KD:M and universe.

It'll be on a charity stream this weekend. not trying to shill out, btu if anyones interested, I can post the link. It's gunna be myself and 3 friends, with rotating randoms, playing board games for extra life. Shit's gunna be boring, but its for charity so I feel no shame.
>>
>>50086911

Good choice.

>Shit's gunna be boring, but its for charity so I feel no shame.
It shouldn't be boring, if you make it as interesting as you say they'll surely want to continue - and tbqh, I'd rather watch 12 hours of KDM than board games others have played before (that are also part of the well known catalogue or the must plays).

Catan is so dead for me I can't even express it through words. I loved that game so much, yet I got burnt hardcore.

Personally a Manhunter and Fade lover myself :P
>>
>>50064144
>Last 3 editions
Nah, nigga. Don't cheap your way out. All or nothing.
>>
>>50087395
It's going to be a mix of games, probably roughly every hour. Galaxy truckers and KD:M are coming from my pool. We're just going to run a butcher fight and, if we need a filler or they want more, i'd like to have a white lion lv 2 run ready to show them how different monsters could be, but realistically we are looking at 1 hour of KD:M and 23* hours of other games.

Really, it's 25 hours total because daylights savings.

for butcher I'm thinking a smattering of leather and hide armor, basic gear (a sword, a bow, axe and shield and spear prolly) and each survivor with xp of five or six.
>>
>>50089533
Set up a psudo settlement phase before the fight, then.

Make a fake event where everyone rolls for their ages, courage, and wisdom charts. Let them pick between 0-3 insanity to start with.

Start with the encourage and dash endevours in addition to the starting ones, and a modified endevour deck of six pretty cool choices, shuffle, the have the group draw three and together pick one.

Then set up a simplied build step, nonspoiler mode(info is limited to what's on the location card), picking up to 8 gear cards from whatever locations you provide without cost, max of two weapons(not counting arrows as weapon)

This'll give em some of the feeling of discovery without the typical long-windedness that the settlement phase can become.
>>
>>50084179
The trick is to hunt it with a critbot survivor when you need a large crop of generic monster bits. You will come back with all sorts of resources from your criticals, and you will have a nice stock for making leather, innovating, or using for various crafting needs.
>>
No rest yet KDM, still quite a ways to go.

>>50090246
This. Hunting an antelope early can save you the hassle of having to grind Organs in future hunts for innovations or gear if you get averagely lucky.

>>50089533
5 or 6 XP is really high for that early on... most characters at the point would be 4xp or less because they've on hunted 4 things up until that point.

Party meta always contained a cateye and rawhide activation each turn, which meant that those 2 characters essentially merged into a single "support" roll that really only augmented the overall party's interaction with the monster rather than do anything directly themselves (aka no real dice rolling required).

>>50095948
I've also never really had a solid experience with the "DM" monster controller, since we've always approached it in collaborative group effort to "solve" out the encounter. Personally I feel that one of the greatest thing about KD is the lack of a position like that.

Flower Knight is a core farm monster in my opinion, under Lion and on the same level as Gorm. The mechanics of the fight requires low strength and the damage output is easily controllable for lower powered groups. The hunt mechanics also contains a very easy way to farm understanding.

Virus Flower also has the potential to do some crazy things. Plus the mini looks great. A+ Violin.

There's no way the game now can have a higher cost than the initial run, so I am a big hesitant to get it knowing I'm supporting the creator's enormous mark-up, which I fully expect to have some more "production delays" pushing it back or upping the cost too.

It feels like poots is in an enviable position where the game is prestige and limited and the fans who already have it feel good about that, so they're happy to suck cock for more despite it clearly being a disservice to customers.

Typically when I see a comment like this, after questioning it turns out that group wasn't playing by the rules properly, such as using survival actions each more than once per turn, gaining insanity instead of taking brain damage, not rolling their severe injuries, equipping multiple monster grease, or what have you.

You'll have to give far more info about what's going on in your game for anyone to judge why you feel like you're having an wasy time.

>>
>>50096081
Basically by playing a "People of the Dragon" campaign you lessen the "Settlement over Characters" mechanic of the game.
Instead the focus is on the development of your smaller number of survivors, each can develop some pretty spectacular abilities, becoming stronger than any survivor in the normal and Sunstalker game-mode ever will be.
This also means that losing a survivor hurts, far more than it does normally.

If you wanted a campaign about epic characters rather than the settlement you build up then the Dragon King campaign is for you.
Also, you can get literal Nuclear Weapons (not bombs, but nuclear powered scythes, swords, that sort of thing).

This doesn't make the campaign easy though, far from it.

Right: it's been so long since I've played due to business that I forgot when butcher shows up. I have a handful of characters that died from various settlements that I've set as 3 xp survivors. I'm excited. My friend said, I quote. "I hope we win but have less than 7 limbs between survivors left" so hes entering with the right mindset!

You're transporting them wrong if they're breaking that easily.
Yes the resin single miniatures are fragile, but store them in some soft foam and they'll be perfectly safe.

As for the plastic that actually come with the game, they're plastics.
Glue them with plastic glue (and less is more) and they should be fine with almost anything assuming you don't mistreat them too badly.
The small details are the most fragile part obviously, but with plastic glue and soft foam for transport they should be fine.

Gonna give you a tl;dr of some major points because a lot of the game is experiencing it for yourself.

>You wake up with 3 other people in a surreal, horror-wasteland.
>You must hunt to survive.
>You build a settlement and further expand a pool of people to hunt.
>Within the settlement you can build Weapons, Tools and Armour for hunts.
>You expand a slightly randomised "Tech-tree" to further improve your settlements capabilities.
>Random events provided create differing experiences from previous ones.
>Array of disorders, Special forms of fighting and Injury tables create unique hunters.
>Hobby side is quite in-depth for a "boardgame" - more of a small scale hobby line.

Saying anymore can kind of spoil things.

tl;dr - You and 3 other friends play god and look over a settlement and send people out on hunts to further improve the communities lives to progress a story.

actual gameplay is kind of roguelike. You want to mitigate the randomness to maximize your chances of not getting rekt

Especially considering the campaign's in-verse goal: For the Tyrant, the Dragon God, to find a people whom can take on the mantle of dragons from him to perpetuate his race/mercy kill him.

But yeah, the whole idea of the Dragon People is getting stronk characters, first with the campaign's unique dragon traits and then with the People of the Star's constellations.

Alright, fuck it. I'm starting a new (semi-solo) run.

I will record everything that happens to my dudes (within reason, who cares if you hit and missed the 5th attack, I'm more talking crits/kills/perma injuries).

I will post progress because I have nothing to do this weekend.

Starting in a bit, I gotta make food and pull out my tables.
