Nah. Magnus is next level. The end result of Prospero was supposed to be either Space Wolves dead, Thousand Sons dead, or both dead Horus was leaning on option three. Magnus, realizing this, tried going for Thousand Sons dead but in a way nobody expected; dude was loyal enough to the Imperium to see his WHOLE legion die for it. He was going to out-Rogal-Dorn Rogal Dorn. But with this tactic, and later his small show of what he's actually capable of he actually got Tzeentch's favor. Thus becoming the ultimate win win situation for Magnus where his people survive, the Imperium ppl survive, and Magnus gets to tinker with knowledge/Magic the rest of his life.

All other Primarchs except Magnus and Lorgar got completely outplayed at some point or another. Lorgar willingly turned so he's kind of actually the evilest Primarch. Magnus managed to outsmart Chaos itself for a short while.

Magnus could probably heal the Emperor and probably would just to fuck Tzeentch over

Nah, the initial plan as far as Horus knew was to take out both Legions as they were ultimately still loyal. Part of Magnus diverting that plan was why Tzeentch wanted him so much it's not just the magic. Again, having Magnus as a potential ally was more Tzeentch's personal thing which is why I said Magnus outsmarted Chaos for a short while not entirely as it's impossible to completely outsmart something like Tzeentch, but Magnus went as far as he could which is what made him ultimately worthy as a Tzeentch guy where no other Primarch would be so deserving.

Lorgar just willingly took Chaos in. Horus was tricked by Erebus/the Word Bearers in general. Perturabo was tricked cuz of Olympia. Angron, Curze, and Mortarion couldn't think up of ways to stop their ailing problems (unlike Magnus who was actively being fucked by Tzeentch through the mutations thing and tried to solve it) and joined Chaos. Fulgrim thought killing his BFF meant just falling to Chaos. We have no clue why Alpharius defected to Chaos.

But unlike the rest of those guys, Magnus tried his damn hardest to not become Chaos despite having very active participation from Tzeentch to get it done, and even then Tzeentch had to pull all sorts of bullshit for it to happen.

Russ is immune to Magnus's magic for no reason that's ever explained. As for literally everything else at Prospero it's a skub war. Inferno coming out eventually might help end this however GW is supposed to be releasing a 1kSons codex so I'm sure they'll fuck it up and have the fluff clash.

I too wonder this, considering they're both the "pretty/cultured" primarchs but Sanguinius didn't take it to as much of an extreme as Fulgrim.

Sometimes I idly match up 2 primarchs in my mind and wonder what their relationship was like (if it hasn't been shown in a book yet). Are there any off the top of your head that never interacted outside of larger gatherings?

You've got that wrong. They killed the guards of Lycaeus first, and deliberately provoked the armies of Kiavahr into attacking, butchering them when they made planetfall with stolen arms.

Corax started with a bunch of unarmed slaves and took on the resources and armies of two forge planets head on. Angron couldn't get cyber-gladiators to take one planet. Couldn't even teach them to be less shit or to raid an armory. Just holed up in the mountains waiting to die.

Maybe a maze or some shit could have kept him trapped? Or they just made him fight for weeks on end, until even he halted. I think it was a mish mosh. In Betrayer it was shown that a lot of the city structures were still made of mud and the running water was carried through aqueducts but they did stuff like launch a probe into space and possessed command bunkers with lighting. I think that the armed forces used good old fashioned blades but they still had firearms and even laser weapons if I recall.

His armor was inscribed with anti psyker runes by his Rune Priests and a lot of resisting Warp powers involves using willpower to power through it. Russ being not only a Primarch but being the headstrong doof of the Primarchs is expected to be pretty good at that.
