Cell desires one thing from life, and that is perfection of his form. Having long held a fascination for insects, one of his first actions upon arriving to Ae was to volunteer for an experimental Bio chip that morphed his body into its current insectoid shape. After chatting with the Bio personnel he idealized their methods and quickly joined their ranks, his relentless pursuit of the perfection of biological form making his entry almost assured. Not satisfied with how slow Gene-Modding was normally, he modded a Tail onto himself with the help of Biological and had it enchanted by Ethereal. The result was a retractable stinger tail that could absorb the 'essence' of creatures which he could instantly analyze and either discard worthless pieces of or incorporate into his own genetic or biological form. While he was a relatively low-level Ethereal user before this discovery, after rapid genetic alteration his skills increased dramatically, as have his hand to hand skills. He's developed a unique method of combat involving close-combat martial arts and raw blasts of ethereal energy. He's also mastered a form of flight that doesn't seem to require the use of his wings, though he sometimes brings them out. Cell has also reconfigured his genetics to maximize the power of his Healing Chip, greatly increasing how fast he heals. Unfortunately he doesn't seem able to replicate these feats on other creatures besides himself and the exact specifications for Cell's tail were accidentally misplaced at some point.

Basic idea was from a campaign my group is playing, where the Roman empire ever collapsed and instead Christianity took root in Africa and Egypt, and the Crusades were a reaction to the Roman empire and Islam attacking accross the Mediterrainean. Its mostly light fantasy, though the factions do have a few magical soldiers, and the Roman empire has some military tech from around WW1 such as bolt-actions to augment their phalanxes.

I really don't understand what I'm supposed to do with "home base" style purchases. We are supposed to be part of some kind of special squad. If we are defending an area, be it a city or some outpost, there should be some kind of defenses already in place for us to work with, including personnel. If we are on attack we probably need a vehicle and little else unless we make camp, and the fiends don't go after superhumans directly.

An example base might ve an abandoned factory near a mission site that you decide to occupy. Just having a vehicle is risky, so you'll ideally always either be holed up in a building or on the road. There aren't really assignments where your base will move constantly. At the worst, you'll just travel as far as you can from your base during the day and return by nightfall so that you can sleep behind fortifications. Fiends do typically ignore superhumans, but if you're in tge middle of Fiend territory, they might try to force you out. Unless you're assigned to guard a research team or something, it'll just be you, your squad, and any purchased subordinates. You're more likely to be assigned such a task if you have human subordinates (bait) already. If your base is at the edge of a city, it will still be rather minimal. A freshly founded base can only be expected to have a few basic things like first aid kits, comm systems, a weak generator, etc.. Also, if you are just guarding a border town, don't think that means there's a lot of military support nearby; they're spread thin. I might add info on how a default base looks in an update.

Actually, thinking more on it, almost all the race options on page 1 seem hilariously ineffective against the vast, vast majority of Fiends.
The Cowtits race is completely useless, the Succubus can't do anything against multiple enemies and the Harpy's talon and Lamia's venom isn't effective against armored enemies.
I think you started off the first page going for a cutesy CYOA, then went full "Anon must die" on the last page.

It's not so much the names, it's the descriptions. It seems like individual Fiends are insanely powerful, and I expected hordes of weaker enemies with a few Elites.

I think you should change Gigantism so it isn't instantly shattered by taking any amount of damage. That makes it useless in combat.
I'd also love an Angel race with a passive option to protect a small area from Shadows while you sleep, and an active ability that sends out a wave of light to be a hard counter to Crawling Chaos.
I am not a fan of being snuck up on by Shadows with no possible way to protect myself.

Perhaps I should make it more clear that all (well, not magical girls or slimes) races have a degree of superhuman strength. Harpy talons could rip right to a brute's heart with enough speed. A succubus is best off spending her time to control a really powerful Fiend, even if it is more difficult. That, or sneaking behind to high-priority targets. At least 90% of the Fiends are Brutes. And while Brutes don't react much to being shot, guns very much do hurt them.
I figured general(s) would break base-choice ties.
An SMG can take down a brute. It just might need a couple of clips. Also, most Fiends don't have any ranged options, giving you some good time to fill them with lead.
My main concern with Gigantism is that could easily become overpowered. A 50 ft. magical girl could just step on Brutes to KO them. I figured it would he better to gear it towards out-of-combat use, since Oni can fill the role of being a big combatant. But even in combat, Gigantism can be useful. In particular, it can do alright in a 1v1 with a Behemoth.

Yeah, if/when I add more races, angel is high on the list.

Serving under General Natalie Thompson. I'm going to need those supply lines for 4 infantry units both for their own supplies and to get fresh bodies to replace the ones that'll be dropping and adding to my personal company.

Presuming I have my way, I'll be aiming for Reclamation efforts. Take back the territories and fallen cities that the Fiends succeeded in, then raise the bodies and spirits of fallen souls who'll want revenge for their demise. Since the General values intel and information, being able to see how and why the cities fell, what breached their defenses or surprised their guardians will be invaluable, nevermind that we'll be able to bring back corpses of the fiends that fell in the attempt.

Personally, the long term ideal goal would be to learn how to animate fiends as well as true humans; much better to convert the enemy's forces than our own.

That said, it's pretty clear that being assigned to one of my infantry divisions is pretty much a death sentence. We're going to need some hard results and solid victories to make up for the death toll, but between the information my methods can provide and the ability to eventually match and overwhelm the enemys' swarm tactics, I figure I'll be fine until after the fiends have been dealt with and people start talking about war crimes.

In short, an aerial hunter-killer. Unlimited fire ammo from a heavy gun using precision targeting while the drone provides cover (maybe it's even lashed to the armor somehow). At close range, crack out the spear. At point blank, use claws, horns, tail, fire breath, the pistol, anything to tear the enemy a new one, but overall try and keep to range.

As a hunter-killer, working for Shepard takes priority, but I can certainly respect the goals of the other generals. The fiends have to be destroyed, but all this squabbling is counter-productive.

Natural weapons doesn't give infinite ammo. It's contextual, though. For instance, if it turns into a biological weapon, then you might "resupply" by eating dinner. (Magic ammo removes this.) Well, the Drake description makes it clear that its flight speed is not very high. However, if I take flight armor, make it weightless, and also have a drake's wings and aerial instincts? That should notably improve maneuverability. The weightless armor also means I'll have an easier time dealing with the weight of my big gun.

I guess a harpy might be better as an aerial choice, but I'd prefer to have the fire bullets. Also: being a dragon.

As for the drone, its great cover fire for either long range or melee.

The problem with a Brain is:
1) They will command other Fiends to protect them.
2) To control one, you'd first have to slice it open so the puppet human inside can see you. The only sensory a brain has is the psychic link to other Fiends and the human's senses.
3) They're also naturally just one of the more difficult ones to capture.
4) The Fiends don't mindlessly obey Brains. If you want the Brain to give an order "kill yourself" that won't work. The Fiends will eventually realize that you're giving trap orders, but not before suffering heavily from them. A brain is still a valuable capture.
You can't control growths. They don't have a lick of sentience to control. They just grab and assimilate. They even grow naturally (slowly) from overtaking plants and things. But yes, with Innocent, it won't really acknowledge you. You could walk across one, but if you stand in the same spot for too long, it'll start getting frisky.
Behemoths are also a very hard capture. You'd first have to fight your way to the core & they take a long time to entrance.
Also, be warned that the hypnotism doesn't last forever (though is quite generous in duration). You can keep refreshing it before it wears off, but you can't just order a Fiend to "stay put" and have it stay in that spot when you come back a week later. Building a base inside one would be risky if anything ever happened to you.

Well, size and weight don't really factor into flexibility. That's a limitation of the design caused by heavy armoring. A whole lot of armor is also why it is a bit on the slow side: it is carrying a lot of durability around. It isn't a "stronger" power armor. It's a more defensive one (which has more strength in order to carry that defense / wield suitably heavy weapons). But really, flexibility shouldn't be an issue for heavy weapons. You aren't going to need to reach behind you to sudden stab an enemy with a knife. You can just elbow them with the corner of your power armor. That should be enough to get breathing room.

Hm. Given that, I'd probably put Brains down about equal to Behemoths - they can still sow confusion by giving actively bad orders (telling Raiders to lunge into bullets, countermanding other Brains' orders, flushing out Dopples, etc.), but I imagined them actually dominating the other Fiends.
Twin seems even better with that - probably down to personal preference at this point.

And Behemoths wouldn't be too dangerous to live in - Innocent makes it easier to hypnotise the core (especially if your allies distract it), and you could just stick some C4 to the core in case you die. Small risk for getting a literal walking mountain you can watch squish entire armies of Fiends.

I would have bought the med bay, but I figured having an alarm system would prevent us from having to use it so often. Plus the service personnel can act as doctors if we really need it. Mostly they just free up time for us to run drills and such. I guess with me sticking out so much, I'd be the leader of my squad, but it'd be better to leave group coordination to someone who won't be under constant fire.
I guess I'd work under Lyn, even if her bonus doesn't really appeal to me. More time off does mean more training and meditating for Charge, but it's mostly about banding together.

If you're defining these races based on their DNA, then yes, super soldier is very much inhuman. Really, humans can be improved in infinite amounts of ways. Evolution obviously doesn't make you better over time, although it's quite obviously a very flawed system. Having 4 arms instead of 2 would be objectively better for someone, and also being able to regrow teeth and limbs and whatnot. But evolution is deeply flawed.
