How do I play a good bard sorry I'm a noob
>>49979391
It's not a good class for a new guy, but you can do it. Bard usually has good people skills and handles party negotiations. Armor and fighting skills are not always very good, stay near the rest of the party when you fight. Bard usually has some ability to improve the dice rolls of his teammates in a fight, ask the DM what that ability is, how it works, and when to use it. Good luck.
Use magic as a utility as opposed to DPS.
A sorcerer may cast fireball to deal tons of damage, as opposed to you who may cast eye-bite to decrease enemy damage.
You're musically based so inspire others with music or a song.
You are all about charisma so focus on that.

Remember to SAGE
The Bardic Code
1) Be always ready with quip or jape
2) Believe that sometimes laying ones foes is more beneficial than slaying them
3) Have a merry ditty, witty riposte or jaunty tune for all occasions
4) Turn maidens' heads with rakish look and saucy phrase
5) And most of all, to thine own bros be true

Fuck that image. Bards are some of the most versatile spellcasters in 5e. That image is just as bad as the fucking gif of those dipshits running around with roman candles with the caption "when u roll a 1 on ur magic missile".
I'm all for people joining the hobby, but don't shit it up with terrible memes that don't even get the rules right.

This world is gonna be cruel to you.

I mean alright I guess, you're wrong but obviously you're not capable of processing that so I'll just go.

Bards are partyface/skill monkeys for the most part.
My most effective bard was a cavalier/bard/battle herald that specialized in aid another. I gave 21 ac between me and my animal companion to anyone in arms reach. I also had pretty decent party face skills and once I got Pageant of the Peacock I was pretty strong in the knowledge too.
If you're asking how to bard conceptually, you're going to be useless unless you aggressively chase after some specific niche, or your campaign is rp heavy, then you're probably fucking awesome**assuming you can rp well

Bards are good in 3.5 too, if you optimize. Not codzilla level of good, of course, but far better than non-casters.

What system are you playing? D&D 3.5 edition? 5th edition? Pathfinder?
13th Age?
OD&D?
Cyberpunk 2020?
The answers we give will depend on that, along with any houserules your GM have stated and what sort of level or rules to making a character he has said.
