you have to remember that they improved the printing process multiple times without changing the card format, so some cards like juzam djinn ended up barely legible but others like turnabout look really nice and clean

i think the main thing is also that a lot of the pre-modern art is gorgeous, and none of it looks cgi-plastic, so the overall card aesthetics are remembered fondly

the actual number of virtual card advantage depends on what cards were actually on top and what cards you were looking for, and how many of your possible draws are blank

at its best this card is virtual +4 card advantage and thats if you desperately need the card 5th from the top and no other card will do. in that case its as if you drew 4 cards (assuming of course that you had no other use for any other cards, like youre going to die if you dont draw the card 5th from the top) becaise your next draw would then be the one you need, but you also need to have a fetchland ready to crack to shuffle away the 4 whiffs, very unlilkely

thats best case scenario, this card is often card disadvantage because you might have 5 whiffs on top in which case this card was just a waste entirely because youre still drawing 5 whiffs in a row, or you had what you wanted on top already and rearranging doesnt help
