So, I dug up my crate full of LEGO from my childhood, and so I thought "I'm playing with toy soldiers now, and it's okay, so lego should be okay too, rite?"
What /tg/ could I do with lego? RPGs and dungeon crawling seem like first choice, but what else? Is there some sort of crafting /tg/?
Just don't point me at those new shitty games Lego themselves make, i'm not interesting in spinny ninjas shit.
Play very simple skirmish wargames?
Invent your own system.
Get younger siblings/relatives into gaming?

fuck me I had that dragon.
Now it is 1000 kilometers away.

Mobile Frame Zero, Brikwars. Skirmish wargames with rules that are actually based around Lego (in the case of MFZ, damage removes parts so the build is important. In Brikwars, point values are calculated based on parts used iirc - I had a copy of it or something like it ten years ago but haven't looked at it recently.)

I still buy any Heroica set I encounter on flea-marktes. I already have the one with the beach, the one with the vampire and the one with the werewolves. I never played it though.

Damn you for making me want to play with Lego again!

I have all the sets except the last one. The game as is suffers mostly from trying to be a traditional, competitive boardgame. Luckily, the rules are easy to mod almost as much as the board itself; there's two or three conversions around that make it into something more like descent.

but probably needs more specialised bits than are found in most kids sets

Problem is, that game sucks

So take a game with rules that you love
And ditch all the pieces and build whatever you want as a replacement.
Hell, at my table we make our D&D minifigs out of my old Lego pieces that are still lying around. Much greater customization, and $0 outlay (pieces were purchased ~25 years ago)! Only downside is they're at a sliiiiightly larger scale, and it can be a little bit hard to squeeze them all into 1" squares if they're crowded together.

Incidentally, a three pip lego brick is roughly an inch long, right?

You can get a gold one for five bucks, apparently.

Does anyone actually know any good space combat systems?
>>49948416
Me and some friends were thinking about getting back into Lego. I was thinking about using GURPS as an RP as it has rules to handle anything you might have in lego from guns, swords, dragons, spaceships, boats, cars, or whatever. All you'd need to do it convert the hex system over to use 4x4 studs or something like that.

Do you have any idea what the best ruleset is? I don't want to make it complicated, just more cooperative and more like a tabletop RPG
