I did consider that, but Power is weird in general. You'd expect the Merchant to have more pull considering she's rich and all, the dragons don't really have much political leverage besides the fact that they stole princesses (and intend to use them for various purposes). Harpy and Plant have 0 Power, which would mean her political value is nonexistent, and Ghost has 4 Power. We don't exactly have a setting, so we don't know what kind of political influence the Ghost and her kingdom possesses, so it's a lot easier to assume it's related to her kingdom's actual power level in combat.

It was actually fun until people started jerking off over their special snowflake characters who beat all the odds, never had anything go wrong and always got the girl, rather than scrappy, kind of mad underdogs. Also they started industrialising and gunpowder and more and more people forgot the 'small order of knights' part and wanted to take over the fucking world and eventually good write and drawfaggotry died out in favour of just plain faggotry and everyone who liked the original idea fled the threads.

I still hold out hope the original idea may make a comeback, as it was actually kind of fun running around, getting weird looks from everyone and acting like 'adventurer' was actually a legit profession.
