Create and post horrifying monsters. These monsters should be pure nightmare fuel, they fuel paranoia, have body horror as a primary part of its existence, subvert and corrupt what is supposed to be innocent and pure or are horrifying in some other way. I'll open.

>The Atlach-Nachas most horrifying aspect is how this all-male species creates females to reproduce with. An Atlach-Nacha resembles a spider the size of a small dog. In order to reproduce, it must couple with a humanoid creature of approximately twice its size, attaching to the victims back, jamming its legs and fangs into them and injecting venom that renders the victim inert. Upon contact, the Atlach-Nacha will mutate the victim, who will grow extra limbs and grow in size to resemble a spider of inordinate size. The example picture is someone who is part way through the transformation. Notice how they still have a vaguely human face with its front most legs resembling the arm bones of a human. As this transformation progresses, the Atlach-Nacha will change as well, shrinking in stature and dissolving away until it is little more than an extremity that the victim uses to fertilize its eggs. Regardless of the original gender of the victim, a fully transformed one will be biologically female, capable of giving birth to egg sacks of offspring. These offspring can be controlled, most are giant spider-like creatures that come in two sizes, either the size of a man or the size of an ogre. They are sterile creatures, existing to serve and be directed by their mother. The rarest birth is another Atlach-Nacha which will find its victim to start the cycle anew. It is unknown how much of the victims original mind remains after the transformation is complete.

Children are taught to be weary when out in the woods on their own least they become the grisly ornaments for a Death Collector's tree.

Roughly twice the size of a Golden Eagle, Death Collectors are surprisingly inocuous creatures with their dull colouring of their feathers but their most striking feature tends to be their eyes, described by those who've survived encounters with them as black voids. Perhaps this is the source of the necromantic energies that possess them.

When a Death Collector finds a tree to roost in they will impale any creature they find on it's branches. Over time the blood and viscera of the corpses and the linger spirits will cause the tree to transform forming long ridged spikes to better hold the bodies onto. Some speak of even seeing the faces of it's victims in the bark. For whatever reason the Death Collector seems to favor children partly because they are easier to subdue and impale.

If left to it's own devices Death Collectors can cause whole swathes of a forest to become charnel ground were life is denied. However, even when killed it's taint can remain for years and it's even rumored that they never truly die themselves.

>Carriers
The chosen hosts of the God of Pestilence and Mutations, carriers initially appear as members of sapient races caught in the throes of some terrible disease. Their skin is chalk-white and paper thin, and they vomit up black bile. They will attempt to infect other living creatures with this disease by getting some of the bile into the blood of others, which kills them over an excruciating seven days.
After sustaining damage, however, this creature begins to rapidly mutate. An arm removed will rapily regrow, this time as a writhing tentacle of muscle. A bolt directly through the heart will merely be violently expelled, and then the chest protected by a layer of chitionous armor. Even a severed head will barely slow these monstrosities. The only known way to kill one of these creatures is to burn it all over its body. The shock of attempting to mutate all over the creature's misshapen body is enough to destroy the creature's circulatory system.

I thought you were a kindred spirit, oh well:
>That which I nicknamed "Blowpipe" is an example of the nefilim's distorted perspective. It's a recent breed, modeled after nefilims were targeted by firearms. So they did a sharpshooter, equiped with meat instead of metal and gunpowder. Imagine an armless man, his entire mouth pulled until it forms a long funnel of bone covered by skin. It's noseless but has many, many nostrils to inhale until its lungs fill like accordions on its back. The lickings of a lengthy tongue lubrificate the "barrel", the ears work as bipods which stabilize when it is crouched on legs that bend like a bird's. The tongue loads the projectile. In this moment, it exhales, spitting a sharp tooth with enough strength to make it disapear inside a tree's trunk. If all the teeth are spent, its lips can hold anything, be it bullets, wood splinters, arrows or gravel. And a important warning if you need to fight it: its eyes are at the abdomen of wasps that exit the nostrils and watch all from above. Kill them, and its aim becomes terrible.

>My delicious tidbit, have you ever heard about the blemiphage? You have? How this piece of meat knows the blemiphage? Amazing. I'll speak with you then. I mean, I'll talk and you'll listen, but I want some moans and a little piss at the end, right?

>Oh, the blemiphage. The blemiphage, I love to say "blemiphage", because I gave it this name. Why did we made them again? Oh, yes, it was after noticing how easier it was to hunt prey with help, like you do with those hairy and four-legged things. They are also our heralds and spies, seasoning feasts much before the others arrive. Some disappearances, scratches on the beds of the little ones sleeping, holes in the goats' necks, everything to improve the taste. I still don't understand how this still works so well. After the preparations, they would make great marks in useless things like crops, showing that it was a good place for a falling nest to land.

>A blemiphage is easy to do. It's so easy that even one of them can make another of them. They bite the head off, and only then infect what's left, we don't want it to grow wrong, do we? Arms and legs stretch, reaching further. The nipples swell and elongate until they look like hungry leeches choking on a snail's eye. But, but, but, how do they bite without a head? The answer is: ribs. Budding lots of muscular bulbs, then loosening the ribcage until it looks like a mouth from neck to belly button. And so we have another blemiphage, ready to fecundate the terror and other blemiphages between mortals.

As sordid as the history of vampirism is, they do have an element of tragedy when it comes to the generation of new life. In ancient times, a vampire and a human fell in love. This human was once a paladin of the god of death who as you know, despises the undead in all forms. The vampire was likely seducing him or her (their genders have been lost to time) for its own ends but the facade of feeling eventually became real feelings. Both of them wanted to raise of child that is their own flesh and blood. The unnatural nature of vampires makes them unable to reproduce with each other but it turns out that if someone is still human then they can reproduce with a vampire. Since the human was a paladin of Hades, this was a gross betrayal. Their union was cursed and so has every other union between human and vampire in existence. When the Dhampir was born, it ripped its way out of the womb of the mother and then tore apart the father in its savage frenzy. Despite having origins from an undead creature, tests on actual Dhampirs show that they are completely living creatures who upon being born fully functional, will move out into the wild where they behave like most wild beasts as an omnivorous creature. A Dhampir can reach a very large size, eventually growing to be the size of a farm wagon, as creatures created from a curse of Hades, they have a hatred of undead, the site of them drives them to destroy such abominations in a frenzy, servants of Hades have sometimes been granted the ability to bind and control one. Some rather unethical knightly orders have taken to breeding the things, forcing a vampire prisoner to impregnate captured female necromancers or raping captured female vampires.

>just a big spider with a spooky skeleton face
0/10 for lack of originality or scariness

There's a little monster, a little worm that sparkles in the sun, bright and shiny and where the little children play.
And when they hold it, it melts, changing the form to soak into the skin, leaving just a little shiny patch that won't come off. And there it grows.
Down through the veins, elongating all the while, passing nutrients and blood as fast as the nerves. And then it starts.
It reaches the mouth, and bits of it pass on in spit. It reaches the adrenal system, and the child starts sweating pheremones, attracting other children to share their spit. And then it spreads.
Little boys gain more more muscle, protecting their future queens as it reaches the brain. And it waits for danger.
Little girls gain more specialized neurons, waiting to command their knights. And it waits for the right moment.
They always fuse. Little muscles start moving under skin when still. Fingernails become claws. The reproductive system undergoes changes. They lose themselves.
The worst is when an adult is infected by a child. Then it all happens at once. And the youngest girl becomes queen, suddenly adult and ready to feed. There's nothing pretty, just fanged tentacles Peeking out from the mouth and from under the dress. Nobody lives long when that happens, and the village dies except for one little girl dripping shiny worms as she walks to next one.

The Son of Sin ( Part 1/2)

A creature born from the wildest nightmares, the Son of Sin begins its life cycle from an egg. What creature lays this egg is unknown, for the legends vary from a region to another and every village seems to have its own stories about them: all of them, however, seem to agree on the fact whoever is unlucky enough to be stalked by a Son of Sin deserves it, and believes these loathsome creatures are the messengers of the punishment inflicted by a god or another.

The egg itself looks so black it seems to absorb all the light around it and is no bigger than an eye. It is also extremely durable and many adventurers often mistake it for a precious, rare gem. Once a person picks it up, the creature inside the egg slowly starts recognizing it as its own parent.

If the unlucky adventurer keeps the egg for more than a few weeks, its surface starts cracking and a newborn Son of Sin is born. In this stage of its life, the creature resembles a centipede with human features such as fingers instead of insect legs and human hair instead of antennae, and a crooked human mouth where its mandibles should be, a human tongue darting in and out of the disgusting orifice.

It shrieks like a newborn child and as it grows up it becomes capable of crying, laughing and all producing all other human noises. Just like an human being, with the passing of years it also grows in size and its mind develops in the exact same way a human child would.
>>
>>49916101
(Part 2/2)

Its nightmarish appearance is its least horrifying feature, though.

This horrible being feels a deep connection to the human who kept him while in his egg form, and is able to track him down wherever he is thanks to some kind of wretched mental connection.
The Son of Sin will always try to find its "parent": no matter how brutally or cruelly he is treated, he will always deeply love his human parent and will keep looking for him. The creature only feels at peace when its body is attached to that of his natural parent and would do anything to attain this goal. Some have even been reported to enter their parent's body (through their mouth or other holes) in order to remain as close to them as possible and make him unable to send them away.

The creature's main defense is its outstanding regenerative power. No matter how badly it is injured, through some dark and terrible magic its body seems able to slowly rebuild itself and bring it back to life. Even when stomped, cut into pieces or incinerated, the parts of its corpse slowly begin crawling back towards one another to bring the Son of Sin back to life and allow it to resume its search of its natural parents.

Since it always seems to eventually catch up to them no matter how far they run, most people eventually get tired of running away give up trying to outrun their unwanted son and embrace its presence as part of their life until their death. The Son of Sin is very protective of their human parent, despite it lacks any effective offensive capabilities except biting. Once their parent dies, the Son of Sin is known to shriek and cry for days on their parent's corpse before burrowing into it and slowly devouring all of it. Once they are done "mourning" their human parent, they finally fall into the ground, killed by the emotional stress of the death of the person they loved the most.

Settle down kid, and let me tell you about these 'Empties'.

Back in the days of the Stranarkian Empire – yes, it was that along ago – there was a primitive race called 'humans' and the Stranarkians, being the paranoid beings that they were, decided they couldn't let this race survive. Their only extrasolar colony was demolished by an armada of ships far beyond anything that humanity could combat, and with all attempts at contact and diplomacy being ignored save for one message: a starchart of the Stranarkian Empire. It covered hundreds of systems, a boast that there really was no way humanity could hope to survive.

The civil human government began to fall apart, but the military seized power and began a massive program that they claimed would save their race from extinction. Hundreds of small sleeper ships would be built, each carrying a number of human colonists. Loaded with supplies, it was hoped that at least some of them would survive. The true purpose of the project was, however , kept secret from the public.

A full half of the sleeper ships were loaded with soldiers, equipped with the heaviest weaponry the humans had access to, and were pointed at the Stranarkian planets as a final gesture of defiance. It was suspected that the life support systems would fail en route, given how far away the Stranarkian worlds were located, but the combat AI in the servo-suits would take over and complete the mission.

Midflight the rescue party's ship failed to respond to hails following some erratic flying, but scanners detected that their transponder had failed so no-one thought there was a reason to panic - border world, old equipment fails all the time and they assumed it was just a system failure. The only odd thing was the ship's computer was downloading an awfully large amount of data from the central core.
>>
>>49922104
>>49922121
Obviously all she had access to was the transponder data and unencrypted communications, but what she saw was that the ship followed standard approach procedure towards the landing field until it flew over the center of the colony, upon which the ships hastily descended and crashed into the main governmental building. She then heard reports of suited figures emerging from the flames, massacring the survivors and any bystanders. The last contact from the surface reported the spaceport was being overrun by eerily silent figures who could take a plasma bolt to the chest, have half their torso vaporized and pick themselves back up and carry on. After that nobody's really sure what caused the explosion that destroyed the colony, but a simultaneous overload of the central power grid combined with the detonation of the emergency reactor fuel stockpiles would do it.

Orbital Control naturally panicked, and called for help. The garrison on Ktarr Prime sent a reaction force, but when they landed there was nothing left of the colony but a smoking crater and a few badly damaged emergency data recorders. One of them was the internal monitor from the rescue ship, and even through all of the static and data corruption you could hear the terror of the crew as the supposedly dead creatures rose up and slaughtered them all with the calculated brutality of a machine designed for nothing but death.

You see, back in the days of the Stranarkians Ktarr Minor was a major refueling point for their armadas. The humans must've pointed one of their attack craft towards it and hoped for the best, not realizing that Stranarkia would fall centuries before their dead soldiers arrived.

Of course, the official investigation told us that it was renegades from the Outlier Cluster, but who're you going to trust – some politician who's scheming to advance his own agenda and hasn't seen anything past his own constituency or me, a seasoned starship captain who's seen things that'll flash freeze your blood and thaw it out again before you can even think about screaming? It was the Empties I tell you, the Empties! Spirits of vengeance from a long dead species, uncaring as to the identity of their victims and driven by a single line of logic – revenge.

Now remember what I told you earlier, about how half of the human ships carried colonists? What if, somewhere out there in the depths of unexplored space, one of those ships defied the odds and made it? What if there's a world covered in enraged monsters, biding their time and contemplating revenge?

I've told you what their dead can do kid, and I lose sleep at night imagining what their living are capable of.

The Bone Seeker

An ache here, a pain there. Surely he hurts because he has something wrong with him. But what? Suddenly, an idea has taken hold. Perhaps he hurts not because he has some disease or affliction, but because he is missing something. "Of course! It's all so simple. I don't have enough bones in my body!"

In a daze, he feverishly searches back alleys, in woods and in fields, and graveyards - forgotten or overlooked places where he might find his prizes. On hands and knees, he riffles through grasses or under leaves for dead rodents - or even a deer; in the graveyards he sneaks into a mausoleum to pry for human remains.

Once he finds them, barely able to contain his glee, he take the bones, and begins to push them at his skin. Sometimes he finds that he will need to hold a fold taught with his other hand, other times he needs to snap off an end of a bone, to help facilitate its use. Eventually, the hard, foreign tissues force cushiony flesh to yield, and the bone is pushed under the skin, back where it belongs. Each new bone he comes across will find itself added to his ever growing collection, safe within him. But he still hurts. Wherever he adds a new bone, his tortured body is wracked with pain anew. This can only mean one thing: he still needs more. If he is to reach full recovery, he won't be able to rely on scavenging carcasses any longer. He will need to take a much more active approach.

Townsfolk have seen something unspeakable wandering the countryside. Pale, sickly skin, pulled tight over a monstrous form. Bulges, knobs, and protuberances visibly straining against their prison, and shifting and jutting as limbs move. It walks in a slow, ponderous manner. Each heavy step it takes, every movement it makes, is followed by the sound of the woods groaning, or the snapping and cracking of falling timber. Trust the wind: On still days, the creaking of trees proceeds a horrific fate.

Too uniform and natural-looking. Inspirations included (reverse) BIID, bone cancer, cherubism, and supernumerary teeth. Think more biological horror, with bones being forced under the skin in erratic, senseless patterns, skin stretched tight over the chaotic mess shifting and grinding underneath.

I envisioned it something more like the insane cancers from Silent Hill 3, but instead of being fat-looking, it looks more misshapen with a random, ever shifting assortment of bony knobs, processes, and shapes seen straining aganist the sickly, tight skin keeping them in place.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrike

>The family name, and that of the largest genus, Lanius, is derived from the Latin word for "butcher", and some shrikes are also known as "butcher birds" because of their feeding habits.

>Shrikes are known for their habit of catching insects and small vertebrates and impaling their bodies on thorns, the spikes on barbed-wire fences, or any available sharp point. This helps them to tear the flesh into smaller, more conveniently-sized fragments, and serves as a cache so that the shrike can return to the uneaten portions at a later time.

>While it looks like a deer, it is much larger, half-again as long as the heaviest of draft horses, and several times as tall, balancing on the clusters of long, thin bone spikes that extend from where its hooves should be. Its head is partially a skinless skull with empty eye sockets and a mouth so full of sharp, curved, interlocking teeth that they leave no room for a tongue. Its horns are unlike any deer, instead being a practical bush of long, thin, branching spikes of raw, bleached bone. Its skin is mostly gray and hairless, but flushes to an rosy, infected red where bones show through, and small pinpoints of light, like bright stars, fill the voids of its eye sockets.

>Maybe the size of a very large apple, this creature is only nominally a, "fly." Instead of a pair of large, many-lensed eyes, it possesses several, a cluster of six to ten, eyes from varying species and of many colors. Its proboscis has been replaced with what at first appeared to be a single, finger-joint length rasping spine with a ridge running down its middle, and its wings resemble more those of an ornithopter: long straight limbs with square or rounded flaps of skin attached to the underside, mismatched, making its flight appear swaying and ungainly. It possesses only four other limbs, two pairs of legs clustered around the tail end of its body, but perhaps most frightening is its, "mouth." When it senses living food in its surroundings, the rasping spike beneath its eyes, as well as fully the first two-thirds of the underside of its body, splits open as a set of mandibles, revealing a lamprey-like mouth full of shark-like teeth, each capable of independent motion, a long, hooked beak at its middle.

I'm glad this thread is still up because I actually just woke up from a nightmare with some kind of beast in it. I liked it so much. I quickly wrote down a description:

>You will find an eye.
>Do not look into the eye, do not touch the eye.
>If you do, it will come looking for its eye.
>When it does, it will ask you a question starting with a 'w'.
>When it touches you it will feel like that part of your body went to sleep. It will feel like the worst pain in your life.
>It will want you to look at it.

>No matter what happens, do not look up and do not speak.
>Lay flat on the ground covering your ears and shutting your eyes.
>Do not listen to it, what it says will make you want to look.
>It will leave only if it realizes its eye is not in your possession.
>If you have the eye it will take it.

>The only way to know if it is gone is when your body becomes "awake" again and you hear words not starting with a 'w' sound.
>It could take hours before you know it is gone.

I can't exactly recall how but in my dream my mother found the eye and people thought she was crazy or something talking about this beast. Then later some guy came along and more or less gave the same description I gave you.

I only saw it when it was speaking to my mother while trying to provoke her for like a split second. The only way I can describe it is a huge dog without a tail, very long limbs and a large, long, snout. It was also kind of hairy but also not?
I actually found pic related on google just searching for "black monster dog." It kind of looked the same but it was on all fours, definitely more bony, but not starving african child bony, very thin basically. I don't think it had eyes either... actually with the story I just gave that's obvious...

So what I'm trying to ask is how can I smooth out the warning and make it more interesting? Also what should I name it?
>>
>>49952826
Followup:

Without going into detail I did actually have the monster trying to provoke me and parts of my body did actually feel like they were asleep. I'm talking ribs, shoulder, feet, it hurt like hell and its actually how I woke up.
Its reasonable my feet are actually asleep but so is the left side of my stomach and my left shoulder. And thats what really creeps me out.
I thought only limbs were supposed to fall asleep due to blood flow, how the fuck does it happen to your torso?

The chill of the still air is seeping through even the gratuitous layers of artic clothing, the vapors of your breath lost to the darkness before you. You grope your way along the wall of the cyclopean tunnel, a small shred of hope that the next bend will bring you to blind sun of the six month Sun. The other are gone, the vehicles too no doubt, but to die in the light of day is better than to drown here in this cold sea of darkness.

And then, hope, ahead the sound of movement. Perhaps Dyer and the others, perhaps they didn't abandon you! Salvation! But... Why no lights? They can't be too far ahead of you. Please, do not let my saviors to be as hopelessly lost as me! The scraping grows louder, not footsteps, not regular and then, growing ever louder, the voice. Raspy and boiling....

"Tekeli-li... Tekeli-li!"

Perhaps to drown in darkness, is not as bad as once thought.

I'm not good at this, but I wanted to bump with something.

>A great beast, 8 metres wide or so I reckon, crawled out of that vile pit. It resembled a spider, though it was quite unlike any arachnid with which I am familiar. Its eyes were arranged in no ordered fashion, neither by row or symmetric scatterings and by God, what eyes! Dozens it had, black and lidless, seeing in all directions like the giant Argus of Greek antiquity. That it saw me I do not doubt, but it seemed to pay me no heed. Perhaps it saw no point in greater expenditure of effort when there was fresh meat hopelessly snared before it.
>It scuttled on many legs; more than eight, definitely. How many I cannot say, though I would hazard a guess at thirty. Yes you heard right, for did I not mention how great the thing was? Each leg was thicker than my waist! The noise it made when it moved was especially loathesome: a massed shuffling, with each leg creaking horridly.
>It loomed over the ensnared buck, that had not so long ago rested between the sights of my gun. The thing bleated and moaned desperately, but the hell-spider was not perturbed in the least. I expected great fangs or mandibles to devour the animal entirely, but the creeping monster had something much more abhorrent in mind.
>Two lips I saw, splitting vertically down the front of the creature's head, below the eyes. They spread wide, horrid strings of saliva and ooze catching the light in grotesque fashion. And from within came limbs, like great worms or snakes. Tentacles I suppose you might call them, but they were smooth and supple and quite unlike those of cephalopodic life.
>These myriad tongues coiled around the buck, ensnaring it even further. They tightened suddenly and I heard a crunch that made my stomach turn. The spider drew the crushed morsel in, and then withdrew back into its hole where it was swallowed by shadows, and was gone.

>an abomination whose sole focus is the perpetuation of any cultural traditions and the acquisition of more constituent parts to ever expand the breadth of experience.

Why not a friendly anthropologist colossus composed of a gang of old explorers and archeologists who merged their minds when their bodies could no longer serve them in the pursuit of knowledge?
Travel the world, discover new ancient secrets, and if a certain tomb-raider doesn't agree that a particular artifacts belongs in a museum- well, I'm sure they'll come around to their point of view soon enough.

It should be oriented the other way around. Because it looks like you're lying down in bed looking up, but the wall at the bottom edge would be at your feet, meaning you're 2 feet tall, when it should be against your head.

I had a dream there was this big hulking faceless humanoid with a droopy head. It was fleshy and naked with no genitalia and would chase people and make them check their watches, and if they wore a watch the creature compelled them to kill themselves. I then translated it to my campaign.
>>
>>49970514

Might as well give the other two dream monsters while I'm here

One was a tall equally fleshy and equally faceless man. He was seeping blood and could generate silence. He commanded an army of shadow children

The other was a fat bald man with a giant oven baked turkey body. The wings had blades on the edge, and he would scream "Walla walla woo" as he killed people. This was the hardest to translate into the campaign

Shitty art but this was a parasite I had that killed people and grew inside their bodies to wear them like sleeves. I also had an undead monster that was basically a pregnant woman + russian nesting dolls. I figure you can guess the rest. Always worked well at terrifying my players.

Oh Gawd!

Creepy thing is all of these monsters had their own specific dream. They didn't come from the same one

There's this one monster that flashed in my mind some time ago. I did a sketch but haven't drawn anything better with it yet.

It's not exactly what you would consider a monster - could be a cursed object as well, since it's not exactly a creature, or living - not even of the false life of the undead.

It appears like a black pyramidal body. It never moves, it just stands still floating a few inches from the ground. Well, when it *is* there, because it can appear right when you look and disappear all by itself a few seconds later, or just lie there motionless for hundreds of years.
Thing is, when you say it, you'll be torn between two impulses.
Something from deep within your subconscious will scream at you to just run, run away and not look at that damn thing. Don't look, don't even think about it, forget it as soon as you can, and maybe it will all be alright.
On the other hand, you'll feel attracted - like you would when you stare down to an abyss and it seems to suck you towards the edge; a morbid and unspeakable fascination that you can't explain. And so this second voice will want you to touch the pyramid.
If you don't touch it, but keep looking at it, you'll feel that attraction become stronger. But eventually you'll probably just go away, or it will disappear by itself.
If you wack at the pyramid with weapons, it might disappear, or perhaps you'll manage to crack or break it ... and that will reveal a macabre surprise. But more about it later.
And if you touch it ... it will simply vanish. The pyramid will disappear without a trace and you'll even start doubting it has ever existed.
(Cont.)
>>
>>49973052
(cont'd)

The thing is, if you 'escape' its presence without touching it, chances are it will appear again. In a month, or a year, or a decade. Maybe you'll find it in another dungeon. Maybe beside the camp, at night, or maybe in your house, in your room. It will just be there, waiting for you. Silent, motionless, terrifying. And every time it comes back, it will be harder for you to refrain from touching it. There's a trick - the less you focus on the pyramid when it's there, the less you look at it, the less you *think* about it, the least likely it is to reappear. Its persistance can be maddening, but it can be broken by keeping it out of your mind. Eventually, it will stop. Maybe. But you'll never know for sure.

But I left you hanging about the juiciest part. You see, as I said before, if you touch the pyramid it will disappear. It will never come searching for you again. But you won't have much time to rejoyce about that. A strange melancholy will slowly overtake you. In a matter of months, or days, or hours, you'll become more and more detached, passive, aphatethic. More and more often you'll find yourself as a lethargic shadow of a man, huddled by yourself and staring into the void. And when noone is looking, strange black filaments will start to emerge from you. THey'll be mere thorns at first, poking out of your skin, your nose, your mouth, or from under your eyelids. But they will grow, spread and branch off, like thin branches or capillaries, at unpredictable rates. Eventually they will envelop you, thickening around you and entombing you in what will become a black pyramid .

I mentioned that breaking a pyramid reveals a macabre surprise. In fact, past the external shell, you'll find a thick twine of what looks like fossilized capillaries; and huddled inside, the remains of a human skeleton, from whose very bones the capillaries have spread.

Body Worlds?

A creature that common folk called dark beasts. They were created by a wizard to punish a kingdom for fucking him over and were, basically, rat-taurs in appearance. They stood 5 feet tall and were 8 feet from snout to tail tip. \very lean, their main forelimbs had long sharp claws and their ratty feet could be used as hands and were very good for climbing. Their fur was black and they had exceptional night vision. They weren't entirely carnivorous but had a great desire for human flesh.

The main thing about them was that they could mimic almost any sound and would mimic peoples voices to lure them into traps or took turns just fucking with them for days until their prey a tired nervous wreck and easy pickings.

They moved in groups of 4-9 and would target farms primarily, ignoring livestock unless starving.
