My favorite idea for Jabba is the ability to once a round flip up a discarded illicit card. While not as directly impactful as Palpatine in all situations, it would do some crazy shit in Scum. "Jabba gives me more glitterstim, because he likes me do much".

Another fun one would be to place a "Bounty" condition on an enemy ship which rewards other ships for attacking it.

I actually like that. It makes it feel like its stolen and also now rebels vannot run a stolen tie swarm
>>
>>49895152
their all unique pilots, and the lower PS ones are as cheap as the unique TIEs.

You can't full swarm, but Zeb is likely 13 pts, Rex is 14, and Sabine is 15, so they definitely add cheap ship options, and you can definetly run more than ones.

You can split up the mod and title, so you get a fair number of options.

IMHO the mod is only going to go on Ahsoka, and maybe Sabine with title.
Rex and Ahsoka can do some vary interesting support addition to a list for fairly cheap, and can use the title for interesting stuff.
Zeb is mainly just going to be a cheap ship to add instead of a Z-95. And Sabine can either run support or mobile disruption.

They aren't going to play like Imperial TIE fighters, but they are pretty cool
>>
>>49895697
they aren't a swarm for sure. They can add new cheap ship options to rebels, or cheap mobile support ships which is a thing that rebels, or anyone really, didn't have much of.

The closest before was probably the TIE bomber shuttle title. HWKs are not manueverable, and other support ships are typically well over 20 pts naked, while even an expensive Ahsoka build it is 27 pts total.

I'm sure the tournament scene will settle on one or two builds as 'best', but I think for more casual play their are a ton of options added by the Rebel TIEs.

I'm interested an excited to see if the other two ships do something similar. The Quadjumber seems likely, while the batmobile will depend on getting support based tech options.

With the exception of the Striker (unless they pull something new out which wasn't suggested before) I think all of the new ships have a strong support element, which kind of contrasts how Wave 9 Has a lot of offensive focus, with the two firing arc ships, the protectorate being all about in your face, and the shadow caster bringing some serious pain with offensive control.

Now we have the Rebel TIE as a pocket support ship, the Batmobile has Coordinate on a non-epic ship, and the quad has a crew slot and it seems like a lot of trolly options. And the U-Wing, of course, seems a bit like the Rebel Lambda, so it'll probably be an ideal support boat.

The striker, on the other hand, seems like a return to form for the Empire. "Fuck support. Rebels get a TIE? well now you get a new tie you can swarm and it goes fast. ZOOM ZOOM MOTHERFUCKERS".

>>
>>49896129
I consider the Striker and U-wing to be seperate. I don't even think they are part of the same release.
They also seem to be connected based on the movie apperance while waves are linked by a rules concept.
(Wave 9 was all about firing arcs, Wave 10 is about conditions).

I agree that the ships in Wave 10 are mainly support, but the scum and rebel ships are pretty cheap and (confirmed form rebs, likely for scum) mobile. The Batmobile is fairly expensive and who knows how mobile.
I am curious about the tech that will come with it, as basically all the tech so far is combat based, and not a thing you would spend 2 upgrade lots of point on a support ship for.

I'm leaning more towards Imperial Assault after a quick bit of research.

Can someone who's played either give a bit of a quick rundown of the pros and cons of each game? I'm aware they are completely different.

We have anywhere from 4 to 6 in our playgroup if that helps.

>>49896556

IA caps at 5 players. It's pretty fun though, the only downside is that setting up the map can be a pain in the ass. Otherwise its a fun system, and the campaign has a really fun progression for both the Imperials and Rebels.

Imperial Assault is pretty quick and it's easy to keep everyone engaged. 2-5 players can play, I've seen some people houserule allowing a 6th to play by letting them either control whatever bonus character the Rebel players can unlock or by letting them work with the Empire player and basically split some of the forces between then. Each mission runs around an hour or hour and a half, so since it's not overly long, you can more easily assure everyone can stick around or be interested enough or stop playing when you need too, while the campaign mode obviously allows for more missions and means you can keep playing as much as you want. Variety in how you progress through the main missions and side missions helps give the core game a ton of variety and allows you to do a number of replays without feeling the need to buy one of the deluxe expansions to really start shaking things up. Also there's going to be an app down the road that'll function as the empire player, allowing the whole group to play as Rebels down the line (which won't work very well if you have 5+ players, but still nice if you cap out at 4). Skirmish is pretty nice and interesting as well; I wouldn't consider it as a main reason to buy into the game, but it's still fun. Setting up maps can be a bit of a pain, takes around 10 minutes to do each map if you keep the pieces semi-organized.

Rebellion is a great game and nails down the broader things of the Galactic Civil War. It's got a good amount of replayability and plays through well. Handling combat is a bit, whatever, nothing too bad, but it takes a little time to resolve and isn't super interesting. The big things that might be an issue is that playing a game can be kinda long (generally around 3 hours in my experience) and while it says it can handle up to 4 players, it's really just splitting up the tasks of the Rebel and Empire player with their partner; it really works better as a 2 player game.

So, I'm gearing up to be in an upcoming TOR-era (post TOR actually) Star Wars FFG campaign, and I'm curious if this is a good character idea.

>Twi'lek (male) Jedi
>Mystic Class
>Advisor Spec
>Additional Starfighter Ace Spec
>Influence Force Power
>party pilot and party face
>captains a Dynamic Class smuggling ship
>was once a prominent makashi focused duelist and decided he wanted to go to the outer rim to help people
>eventually went native, decided that the restrictive Jedi code didnt sit well with his personal crusade
>eventually just stopped sending reports back, and stopped returning to coruscant
>embraces his own morals but tries to hold a line between good and evil while doing the best he can for the most amount of people
>basically an altruistic force sensitive former jedi version of Malcolm Reynolds, in a fashion.
>stopped carrying a lightsaber, but still wears his crystal around his neck - the weapon is too much a symbol of who he used to be to conscience carrying it.
>Instead, just wears a BIG IRON custom heavy blaster pistol, but prefers to talk his way out of fights.

I might spec into Gunslinger if there ends up being tons of Jedi in the party, or go Makashi if the GM decides their needs to be more lightsabers.

You need some real conflict in your history. You can't be head-tentacle Mal without scars from your own 'Battle of Serenity Valley'.

Think up a good, tragic reason to chuck the mainstream Jedi besides "I'm too cool for school". Go full Sgt. Powell and say you put away the sword because you killed a kid. Doesn't need to be edgy, but it does need conflict.

The most straightforward approach might be to take anon's suggestion very directly and have a big battle in your character's past on some Outer Rim planet. During or after the battle, he realized that although the Jedi forces won, the civilians they were supposed to protect lost their homes to the fighting, and many died. He saw firsthand that the Jedi way had done at least as much harm as good, and decided to follow a different path.

It doesn't have to be super dramatic like his whole family getting killed in a tragic accident at the lightsaber factory. Those sad, quiet realizations can lead to some of rhe most believable backstories.

I'm liking Rey with VI, Engine, Kanan, Finn, and the Sloop Title. AT ps 10 you get to choose a direction to face.

I'm debating swapping the Engine though and giving her something else. She's hanging out with a poe-8 with Pattern Analyzer, Black One, Autothrusters, VI, and r5p9.

If I cut the engine down to a Burnout Slam, I can make that poe-9 with PTL instead.

Alternatively, buy cutting Black One, I can give Rey PTL.

I decided I wanna make a Mandalorian character, but I wanted to avoid the stigma that comes with the hundreds of badass copy pasted Boba Fett clones that have been created. So I decided my main background character concept was just the anti-thesis of a Mandalorian, which quickly became the biggest fuck-up of a Mando.

Enos Adlai was born on Concord Dawn in 24 BBY. He wanted to be a Mandalorian Protector for the same reason kids wanna be cops, to catch the bad guys and be a hero. His mom and dad supported it, they owned a small space port and he did some work there fixing ships, droids, the like. He managed to become a prospective member of the Protectors.
But he didn't quite have the right snuff to become a full member.

Everytime they would go on a job he either fumbled or was put in a position he couldn't shine in, like guarding something. Eventually he was just put in a Janitorial/Maintenance position since they couldn't find a use for him. He couldn't shoot to straight, he wasn't too fast or strong, his leadership ability was lacking, he knew rules and regulations, but that was it.

So despite the fact that he was back to fixing Droid and ships and cleaning boots, armor, and floors he was still happy, cause at least he was helping his heroes despite the fact that he may never be one.
However after a year or two his supervisor decided to retire to the countryside and his soft spot for Enos was the only thing keeping him around. So when this new guy came in he decided that the janitor was gonna get the boot. I'm trying to figure that out. They decided that the best way to let him down was not really let him know. They gave him a 'top secret mission', gave him an old star fighter and set him out. He unwittingly helped a cell of rebels and got tossed in an imperial prison. And that's when he found out they lied to him.

The game is going to begin with several of the PC's getting rescued from jail by the other PC's.

I think I'm going to go with giving a sour if optimistic demeanor. He's the kinda guy that does the right thing but not without grumbling about it. Also, he's likely to have trust issues, but to avoid turning him into an angsty kid, he's gonna try covering that with being a smartass or making sarcastic comments. I'm also gonna make him say 'Pure Pazaak' every so often to see if anyone in the group gets it.

Kanans ability is bonkers in combination with Kyle and holds 4 focus per turn for canceling dice rolls for anything that can't hit Biggs. The beauty of it is I was able to split attacks between Biggs and Kanan with my positioning and use the crow to eat damage for Biggs after his astromech was gone. Very fun list to run.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, and he may complain about some serious stuff too. His main goals from the outset will probably be to make his way back to the Protectors, although he isn't going back without the ability to show them how wrong they were.

Imperial Assault got a preview for the upcoming wave today: a look at the Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) pack.

New Luke is so different than the core set version, which was very team oriented and offered sort of a toolkit. This RotJ-era Luke is almost a pure beat-stick.

I honestly tend to encourage Obligation trading for money, or sometimes just give more money that can only be spent on chargen stuff just so people can afford gear appropriate to their concepts. Helps that I have a group that tends not to be abusive in that regard, admittedly.

For some reason this reminded me of an AU I wanted to think of built around the "Emperor Vader" concept, where Vader has a turn of heart and decides to depose the Emperor with Luke's help, and be a more benevolent despot. This would inevitably fail as Vader gives in to his anger once again and becomes increasingly unhinged, forcing Luke to depose his father and break up the Empire once and for all. Anyway a key point of that would be Vader crafting his own suit of armor, something that isn't nearly as restrictive or painful as what Sheev set him up with. I toyed around with some designs in my head, but I'm a shit artist so nothing came of it.

I remember playing Star Wars: Episode III the game and in one instance, you could play the last mission as Anakin instead of Obi-Won. Either way, at the end of it, after you kill Kenobi, Palpatine comes out of his ship to congratulate Anakin and hand him his new red lightsaber.

He immediately take it and kills Palpatine and claims himself as the new Emperor. Kind of a neat twist for the child me.

Stress control of any kind would rip you to pieces. Also since you don't have Adv Sensors you can just block Kanan and prevent most of those focus tokens.

Also how the hell did you do damage past the initial joust seeing as how you have no turrets on any of your ships?

Also X-wing storytime:

I fucking love Quickdraw. Six game win streak with her so far.

Build: Ruthlessness, FCS, Sensor Cluster, Title, Shield Upgrade

Parked her at range one of Dengar in arc. Dengar had initiative. Shoots at me gets two hits, decide to spend her focus to not take damage.

Shoot back, roll three hits naturally, opponent whiffs. His Fenn Rau was at range one of Dengar, he takes a damage too. FCS kicks in. R5-P8 activates but misses.

Dengar then does his thing and shoots me back. He does two damage. Quickdraw lost a shield token. Quickdraw activates. Shoots back again and with TL does four hits. Opponent blanks again, and Fenn takes yet another Ruthlessness damage.

So that's the story of how two ships shot each other four times, and I did nine damage in one round with Quickdraw.

Let no one tell you that the /SF is garbage. I fucking love this ship, and have been doing very well with it.

I think I have a good idea. I hope it's coherent, since I've been drinking for fourteen hours straight and I'm not quite sure

From A Certain Point Of View: Revolver Ocelot Extreme

So, two alterations to the clone wars. First is purely personal preference, which is extending it to a full ten years or so, to be more like it's portrayed in Legends.
Second, a bit (a year or so) afore the end of the clone wars, General Grievous discovers that the seperatists were behind what happened to him, and not the jedi, so he goes loose and takes most of his army with him.
Anyways, the meat of it is that maybe three months before the end of the clone wars, anakin and obi-wan get severely busted up in a battle and end up comatose. Since the prognosis is anakin not waking up, sheevy p activates his backup plan, a clone of anakin that he's been growing snce he first met him, and is ready. Using sith sorcery and high tech, he copies anakin's memories and personality over to the clone, along with a subtle dark side suggestion, just to be sure. A month later, Vader (how I'll be calling clone anakin to avoid confusion) and obi-wan come out of the coma, while anakin remains in it, and sheevy p stashes his comatose ass in an obscure mid-rim hospital under a john doe jedi identity, completely off the books. After this, the whole standard RoTS plot goes off, with the real anakin still comatose somewhere secret.
A few years later, Grievous' rebellion accidentally stumbles on the comatose anakin, and thinking him just a regular jedi, hide him somewhere in the outer rim on the off chance it'll be useful someday.
A few more years on (I'd personally call it nine total, but that's just my sense of poetical fun), anakin wakes up, and all goes to hell and gone from there.
>con't
>>
>>49899746
>>49900445
Now, the trick of it is, as far as vader and anakin both know, they're the REAL Anakin Skywalker, and obi-wan really doesn't know what to think.

There are a lot of possibilities for PCs to get involved with this. Maybe they show up at the hospital for other reasons half an hour before a group of inquisitors and blackest ops boys hit it, and they've got to get anakin out. Maybe they're just outer rim good ol boys trying to make a profit out of the abject chaos coming from the Hero With No Fear reemerging to destroy the empire. Maybe they're padiwans who can't possibly pass up this chance to train under the last and best of the old breed. Maybe, if they're the type, they could become anakin's quirky miniboss squad. Maybe they're merceneries or rebels employed by anakin to find his children. Or maybe they're old 501st clones ready for one last ride with their old leader. Maybe they're rebels who want to set the world on fire and finally see the chance. Lots of possibilities

I've never heard anybody call the SF garbage, but I imagine they don't know how to position it.
Though my personal preference is Backdraft, Advanced Sensors, TIE Mk2, Title. SF's maneuver dial has a lot of red, so I like to mitigate that by doing my action immediately beforehand, then having the option of clearing my stress with one of my many greens next round.

Pyke Syndicate is the other big one we know.

For legends add unspecified Twi'lek criminal gangs, slaver syndicates, and megacorporations. Essential Atlas doesn't give call outs (apart from Trade Federation pre-CW for megacorps), so you have freedom there. The Galactic Spice Mining Guild (front for the Empire) was a big spice producer/mover, had legit permits.

For canon, it's not specified so apart from Pykes you could add the Crymorah Syndicate?

Vader's rhetoric is the same actual fascists used, so I could see Vader's Empire being a purely fascist heavy enforcement state like Nazi Germany as opposed to Sheev's Empire which was more like Francoist Spain and while it had fascists in it, there were also traditional monarchists and militarists, old Core nobility and so on. Fascism plays up old glories (so I guess old Republic victories, perhaps the Pius Dea era of colonization) but demolishes old institutions that no longer serve them. Just like Hitler promoted the German Empire as an ideal nation as opposed to the Weimar republic but took no steps to bringing back the Hohenzollerns and even opposed them.

So with Vader you'd probably see a more traditional fascist state. The guy even had (obvious) contempt for the 'officer class' much like Hitler did.

I was gonna go that direction (conflict) but it seemed a bit cliche, so I decided against it. I was basically going to explain it that the outer rim is a savage place, and you get worn down by it a lot.

I also had an idea that he fucked up in some way, and actually went to prison for it. The Jedi tried to make it go away, and he was like "nah, i gotta do this" and instead the Jedi disowned him, and he served a stretch in some awful place - afterwards, he just stayed in the outer rim, and decided to do good things to make up for it.

I dont even know if thats an idea thats technically possible, really.

I think its a neat character, I really do. But somewhat unnecessary to have a massive chip on his shoulder "just because he wasn't bad ass enough to be a full mando"

People hate traviss mandos, and thats fine, but the real reason they hate them is the fans more then anything. The culture without fett is remarkably open to any type of character, and in the repcom books, there was both a doctor, and a girl who was nothing but a mechanic who owned a shop - and both were full mandos. If you take into account the resol'nare, its not like you HAVE to be some walking super soldier - you just gotta follow the culture. You don't even have to be human, which is a big plus.

If the Protectors are a super badass unit in your lore\gm's lore, then it makes sense he might not've been up to their standards. But really, if it were my campaign, i'd just tell you "dont feel constrained to see every mando as boba fett - thats where you make the mistake - mandos are as diverse in skill set as anyone - they even have poets and musicians - dont get caught up in the stereotype."

Despite that though, very cool character dude.

They didn't even get the Y-Wings, they were handed off to what I've headcanoned is called the Core Alliance.

To answer your question more broadly-the Ghost can't be the only ship operating out of that cell. Obviously the blockade runners and Phoenix Squadron are off doing their own missions and running supplies as well. But I think they ARE in dire straits. Their default engagement mode is to flee because every time the Empire seriously engages anyone who isn't the Ghost crew they lose fighters and usually suffer damage to their """capital ships""" as well. That's why Ezra got demoted when he pulled his stunt with the Y-Wings-he forced the fleet's hand into a direct engagement they were in no way prepared to fight. And honestly, if the writing of the show were just a tad more realistic, the normal rebel personelle would HATE the Ghost cell. The rest of them are out there suffering horrendous losses that they really can't replace, losing dear friends and comrades, and the Ghost crew always seems to get away without a scratch. Hell, a lot of them probably wonder why THEY can't have a Jedi with them to alleviate losses, couldn't Kanan or Ezra take a break from eachother and help them out for a change? Of course that's tempered by how grateful they are for the supplies that the Ghost brings, and many of them are on good personal terms with them-but that resentment is still probably in the back of their minds.

I think a big factor is that completely successful missions doesn't make very interesting episodes, so we only see those where shit gets real. I'm fairly certain the Ghost and crew has a few "Everything went just as planned" mission in between the episodes we actually get to see.

In case I ever get this FFG RPG campaign off the ground, would the following character be within the universe?

Near-human species, with small ridges on the temples (like bumps, not spikes or lekku), work kinda like Togruta head-horns. From an isolated world, with their own Force tradition, he got recruited by Luke after Ep. VI, as part of a decentralized kind of "education", where each instructor (like him) would basically take care of their own mini-academy of sorts, with some support from Luke HQ (who'd also teach, maybe the final stages, or more specialized stuff?). Their thing was that the master would give one part for the student's weapon, and in his case it's a hollowed out quarterstaff with two heavy balls inside, that move to help with hitting with it, his master has given him one of the balls. If the crew gets lightsabers, he'd provide the "pommels", a ceremonial token thing rather than anything major.

I know that the NJO wasn't decentralized, but would the rest be too out-of-sync? Campaign would take place 2-3 years after VI, with the idea being that after the Emperor died and DS2 got blown up, the Empire lost power, but is still around, just rebels are a BIT more blatant, and there are not-uheard of defections.

Oh I agree. The Tie SF is pure evil in a lot of ways. My GF runs an Imperial elite build using one that is pretty nasty.

Her Tie SF
Quickdraw- PTL, Electronic B., SF training title, stealth device.

Semi-suicidal, but it chews big ships and elite ships up on its own.
For ships PS9+, fly into range 1, focus PTL target lock.
Attack before your opponent has a chance to take actions (focus or evades) due to electric baffle removing stress & 1 sheild. Then let his ships move, prob out of arc. If they do a K turn, shoot them with rear arc range 1, have the rest of your ships lined up at the rear.

If its a big ship, well same applies but you can chose to either attack it twice as part of an Alpha strike (if you think you can kill it before it has a chance to shoot) or you can just leave your stress and attack it once and dare your opponent to attack you.

It's going to be a heist in a mansion with high security. I'm thinking durring a party while there are a lot of people there. They're going to be stealing the "insert bigass jem name here" out of the owners personal stash and be giving it to the employer. They have on their team a slicer, sentinel, and a big game hunter that hits hard and is good at scouting. Alright, I've been running some test games and I think this is the best Scyk spam list I can currently field.

>3x Tansarii Point Vets
>Attanni Mindlink
>"Heavy Scyk"
>"Mangler" Cannon

>Palob Godalhi
>Attanni Mindlink
>Twin Laser Turret
>Black Market Slicer Tools

Palob does a stellar job of ensuring your Scyks can be focused every turn, which means they can stack focus/evade unless they're able to barrel roll to dodge out of any shots or they're absolutely sure that they'll be unmolested and can take a target lock.

BMST on Palob is great because you can slip him a focus anyway to compensate if he gives up his action.

I do though want to test the idea of swapping out one of the Manglers for a Proton Rockets/Guidance Chips combo, but I get the feeling that if I want ship to give the list some short range punch is be better swapping in a Protectorate and confusing everything when it's flying backwards next to my other ships.

A salvage ship or mining barge, with or without drones.
It would have industrial lasers which do more damage the more they're kept at the same target.
Anything within range 1 of the mining barge can be "attacked" with the ship's heavy machinery. Critting means the mining barge has grabbed onto the ship.

It's not about "why is Legends important," it's about "why does X concept not work the way it does in later Legends media." The same question will eventually be asked once nucanon has filled out.

>Why do fa/tg/uys talk about past editions of tabletop games
>Why do comic book fans talk about Elseworlds, Pre-Crisis, Silver Age, etc.
>Why do some gamers still talk about and play X-COM: UFO Defense

Same principle. Just because it isn't canon or the newest thing, doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed. And by your logic, half of Legends is not garbage, and thus, worth a look. The original anon specifically asked about good comics--stuff that is not garbage.

You know, watching that, I can't help but think of the officer who had to tell the higher-ups that, yes, the task force commander felt it was absolutely necessary to field two ISDs and an Interdictor to destroy two frigates, two corvettes and some transports.

And that in spite of their overwhelmingly superior firepower, they still managed to get some of their own TIE pilots killed.

Not that anyone in the Empire would care, except for Tarkin who would cheer at a textbook application of his doctrine.

The background docs indicate that the guy is actually a fan of the Tarkin doctrine. His tactic consists of seeding a wide area with probe droids while he waits in a random location. When a probe droid phones home, he jumps his task force in and sorties the fighter wings entirely to engage the enemy and keep attack craft off the interdictor, carefully approaching and using the capships' firepower to finish the enemy off.

Also makes sense when you consider the Rebels' inferior numbers as a full fleet and their fondness for hit-and-run tactics. Frigates and corvettes may not be impressive compared to even one ISD, but they're the backbone of the Rebel fleet and each destroyed ship is a bigger loss for the Rebels than the Imperial Navy.

The Imperial commander knows the Rebels will try to flee, because it's their favorite strategy and their best move against an Imperial battlegroup. Hence the Interdictor. And if he's trapping them, then he needs the firepower to kill them quickly because they're going to concentrate their efforts on disabling the Interdictor so they can escape. And no one wants to be to guy who loses an Interdictor.

Also we have no idea who or what is onboard those Rebel ships, but it's presumably important if they're taking the risk of operating deep enough in Imperial space for there to be an Interdictor available in the first place.

I'm still waiting for when they get suicide ewoks.

Probably a sponsor-
>Sympathetic imperial supply store man who slips a crate out the back once in a while with the serial numbers scrubbed off
>Planetary government who has stores of them as part of their defence
>Dump of them as relics of the clone wars... maybe a bit wonky in their effects
>Corporate testing units that went 'missing'

Course if they pop up anywhere notable, there will be 'CSI' types of investigation by the Empire to find out just where they came from

>a super tactical droid can apparently just say "nope" and ignore it
You know that doesn't seem like a very efficient shutdown signal

People unironically build weaknesses into planet-sized warships that if you hit it the entire thing explodes in less then a minute what took trillions of credits and months and months to construct.

>months and months to construct.

More like nineteen years.

No one was supposed to be able to reach the main reactor. Especially not a one-man fighter shooting a proton torpedo down a tiny exhaust port.
Doesn't excuse putting a ship-sized tunnel straight to the reactor in the second one.
Yes, I know Palpy didn't count on the shield ever going down, but that's no excuse.

Nigga do you even logistics

It was part of the bait
Granted, the Empire would have won if they had just moved the star destroyers in immediately
>>

Or if he had just put the tunnel in the plans and had NOTHING there in the real thing.

Seriously though, what was Palpatine planning to do if EVERY SINGLE SUPER TACTICAL DROID decided not to shut down?

fuck off idiots jyn ersos father intentionally built the port so it could be destroyed thats literally half the plot of rogue one you stupid fucks
>>
>>49914827
Palpatine still controls the means of production so eventually the droids would have been ground out of existence.
>>
>>49907982
Y-Wings are better in atmo because they have particle shields so their relative lack of aerodynamics is offset by a false aerodynamic profile from the shield.

>>49914694
Probably a little more complicated than that, likely wasn't just resisting it with his electronic brain, he probably had to physically remove the various killswitch hardware pieces and patch out the software.
>>49914827
I don't think he ever planned on Supertacticals being smart enough to figure out there even WAS a kill-switch in them and their troops.

That was deliberate bait.

How the fuck do you not know the WHOLE POINT of the new film

Maybe we just want to be surprised by a plot twist in a film, rather than watch a modern trailer and have too much of it spoiled for our tastes.

>HURR DURR MODERN FILM SUCKS

youre an autist, jyn ersos father was taken by the empire for being a great scientist, he secretly resents them ad when desigining the death star made an intentional flaw AKA the exhaust port. Jyn is released from a rebel prison to go on a suicide mission to recover the plans of the death star from her father.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You think that tunnel was there because it was a design feature intended for the finished installation, and not because the whole thing was unfinished? Having a tunnel that goes from the surface to the heart of the station makes sense while the station is under construction. How else are you supposed to get the humongous equipment in and out of the reactor space?
>>
>>49914890
>>49914904
>>49914914
There's nothing wrong with avoiding trailers. I avoided every TFA one after the teaser because I didn't want to hype myself up too much. At the time no one knew if it was gonna be good.
>>

It's what comes from having a ridiculously huge navy anon. The US once deployed like 3 Arleigh Burkes to take down some pirates.

My headcanon before Rogue One was that the exhaust port was a last minute engineering solution put in because the reactor couldn't vent heat as effectively as it was supposed to and would probably blow the DS up if they tried to use the superlaser at full power. So a bunch of engineers put their heads together and work furiously for weeks trying to figure the problem out. Shit gets so bad that a rumor starts circulating that Darth Vader himself is coming back to deal with it. And then, one of the engineers remembers a sanitation specialist he knew who couldn't figure out how to make the toilets drain properly, until he just said "fuck it" and drilled an extra hole to the outside of the station. So with no better solution, the engineers decide to upscale the concept-just put in a giant fucking pipe that'll siphon heat all the way into vacuum. After two days of napkin math, they figure out that it needs to be two meters wide to vent enough heat. They take it to the designers, who bitch endlessly about how it's a safety hazard until some genius designer alters the angle of the pipe so the entrance is at a fuckhuge trench filled with turbolasers. Everyone agrees that they don't have to tell the bosses about it-as long as the laser works they'll be happy. Some intern submits a file to alter the master plans, but through a bureaucratic fuckup neither Vader nor Tarkin are actually alerted until X-wings are hurtling down that same fucking trench.

But I guess a rebel girl's dad putting it in to get revenge is a better story.
